It is always a fun exercise to have Akshay talk at length when it comes to matters related to his movies. Reason being that you don't expect diplomatic and ready to serve answers that are so predictable that you can almost see them coming even before you are through with your question mark. The man too is enjoying this phase where quotable quotes have become the order of the day. In an exclusive two part conversation, Akshay Kumar gets talking to Joginder Tuteja on his latest outing with Priyadarshan, comparisons with men
like Amol Palekar and Farooq Sheikh who excelled in roles that were written for 'a common man', his current leading lady Trisha and his 'most wanted on screen pairing' with Katrina Kaif.
The film is titled Khatta Meetha. What's the relevance of this title here?
It's a very sweet and sour movie!! What more can I say apart from - you will feel just about every emotion there is in this film - Guaranteed!
Akshay Kumar as a common man - Now that's quite a journey from being a Hollywood stunt director (Kambakkht Ishq) to a 'kadka' (De Dana Dan) to a 'panauti'(Housefull). Isn't it?
I know, but it helps being a chameleon in this industry (winks). Which is why I love what I do; it's impossible for me to be bored in life. I am lucky, everyday is different and every movie has some new diverse challenge. Each director tries so hard to be different from the next as does every actor. I have to be versatile. I can't release these many movies and still be 'me' in front of the camera. I have to distance my characters roles.

Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 21 Jul 2010 | 7:16 am "I was told what 'not' to say during my interviews" - Sameera Reddy
Nicknamed as 'Sexy Sam', especially after the sizzling act that was put on display in films like Plan and Musafir years back, Sameera enjoyed a hat trick of successes (Race, De Dana Dan, One Two Three) in last few years. Still, even with her professional life rocking, what with films that she has done in languages all over (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali), Sameera isn't finding much time for love. Instead she is busy keeping herself happy with a life that is made of her family, friends, vacations, travel and other fun outings that don't quite make her miss the presence of that knight in the shining armour. Also, now she is willing to let out her true self and wants the world to know her for what she is in real life.
You are no more being seen as someone who is diplomatic or politically correct. Whatever happened to the adage of an actor being prip, proper and righteous when it comes to her being written about?
(Laughs) It was pretty plain and simple actually. I decided that I had to be with people the way I really am in real life. An individual grows over a period of time and my personality too has changed in the last eight years ever since I made my debut with Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. At the beginning of my career, I was told that during my interviews yeh mat kaho ya phir woh mat kaho. You know, things like 'I don't have a boyfriend' etc. etc. There was this set of rules that was given to me. It started sounding a little silly after a point in time.

If there is something that almost guarantees to be a complete paisa vasool for an audience, then it is nothing short of watching the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol coming together on screen, with the backdrops ranging from Greece, Turkey and Spain. Now, if that isn't complete feast for the eye, then, what is?
The actors are currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. If the shoot locations are anything to go by, then, this is one film which truly promises to be different to the core. Zoya took all the painstaking efforts to shoot the film in Spain for the bull-running matches. Well, for starters, each year, from the 7th till the 14th of July, millions jam-pack their way into Pamplona to kick-start Spain's most famous bull-running fiesta to honour Navarre capital's patron saint, San Fermin. The adjoining picture is taken from one such moment. No prizes for guessing, as to why this film was earlier titled as Running With The Bulls!
If the bull-fighting wasn't enough, then, Zoya went ahead and shot yet popular custom - a match where they hurl and throw tomato at each other. Source: Entertainment - Google News | 20 Jul 2010 | 8:06 am Khatta Meetha faces controversy over cruelty to animal
This Friday's big release, the Akshay Kumar starrer Khatta Meetha got itself embroiled in a controversy earlier this week. After the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) viewed and cleared the film on July 13, a certain party lodged a complaint against clearing the film due to the presence of a scene in which an elephant is shown pulling the road-roller.
The complainant seems to have found the scene objectionable as it depicts cruelty towards animals and hence asked the CBFC to order the makers to delete the scene. Such a step would have resulted in delaying the dispatch of overseas prints and could have even pushed the release date further. However, things seem to have been sorted now.
When we got in touch with the PR of the film he said, "Yes there was a small issue but it has been sorted now. In fact the overseas prints have also been delivered."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 20 Jul 2010 | 5:32 am Beer bar singer, scriptwriter and now Pakistani film directorFrom the beer bars of Mumbai to the arc lights in Pakistan, it has been a long journey for Shagufta Rafique.Source: Entertainment News | 20 Jul 2010 | 4:58 am Celina Jaitly to endorse Diya jewellery

Apparently, Sonam Kapoor the leading lady of I Hate LUV Storys (IHLS) was supposed to fly down to Mumbai for the celebration party on Saturday. But she did not eventually show up because of the tight schedule in Edinburgh for Mausam.
Says a source close to the actress, "Too much of the Mausam schedule had already been disturbed because Sonam had to take a break to return to Mumbai to promote IHLS. There was no way she could return for even a day."
Director Punit Malhotra was seen solo at the party but hardly looking lost. "We had a mad evening. It was super-entertaining. I got everyone drunk," said Punit the day after the party. Everyone from Sammir Dattani to Karan Johar was hung-over the next morning, Punit made sure of that.
Surprisingly, Imran Khan too came solo to the party. According to Punit his girlfriend Avantika was travelling. But another source revealed that Avantika decided to have a girls' night out with her friends while Imran whooped it up with the IHLS gang.
Punit personally went around chasing the guests down and drowing shots down their throats.
Yes, Aamir Khan did show up, solo, for the I Hate LUV Storys celebration bash. But someone very close to Karan Johar suggests not to read too much into this so-called new friendship. "Aamir invited Karan to his Peepli Live music release. Karan invited him back for his IHLS party. That's it.
