Akshay Kumar and debutante Trisha, shot a song in the famous Ram Mandir in Phaltan, Satara for Priyadarshan's Khatta Meetha.
The song 'Sajde Kiye', is a lovely romantic track. According to Trisha, the song is a beautifully written love duet that is shot in a very different way. What also adds to the beauty of the song is the pious location.
In addition, the cast and crew earnestly abided by all the rules of the temple. There was no footwear allowed, the clothes were decent and shor sharaaba was kept to a minimum.

After Blue last year, you would think Akshay Kumar would stay away from Diwali releases. In fact that is what Vipul had presumed and was in fact planning an Eid or a post-Diwali release for Action Replayy starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
But a call from Akshay from London changed Vipul's plans. Akshay who is a co-producer on Action Replayy asked Vipul to opt for a Diwali release, although a big franchise film Golmaal 3 was already scheduled.
Says Vipul, "You'd be surprised to know in spite of Blue last Diwali, Akshay wants us to go ahead with Action Replayy this Diwali. Let's not forget, Akshay's Garam Masala had also released for Diwali and it was a big hit."
Apparently, Akshay wants a Diwali release because he feels a fun frothy goofy film like Action Replayy has great festive value, and bad omen be damned.
Says Vipul, "We're hoping for both Golmaal 3 and Action Replay to do well. If only one film can succeed, may the best one win. And may we be the best."
Vipul is also planning collaboration with Tamil super-director Gautham Menon who directed the original Tamil version of Kaakha Kaakha starring Suriya that Vipul is now remaking with John Abraham with Nishikant Kamat as director.
Throughout the re-scripting of the original Tamil into Hindi, Vipul kept Gautham in the loop about the changes.
"We've made drastic changes in the script from the original. Kaakha Kaakha is a seven-year old film. The cop played by John will be completely different from Surya in the original. The police force and the law and order situation have changed. We've altered the screenplay completely. While buying the remake rights, we had stipulated that the changes would be made. So legally or ethically we did not need to keep Gautham in the loop."
However, Vipul felt it was only decent to inform the original maker about the changes. During these telephonic conversations between Vipul Shah and Gautham Menon, Vipul realized that Gautham was just the kind of director who could bring a refreshing new idiom to the commercial Hindi cinema.
Says Vipul, "I'm definitely going to work with Gautham."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 28 Jun 2010 | 6:26 am Marilyn Monroe's chest x-rays fetch $45,000 at Vegas auction

This can happen only in the world of Bollywood. And for the trivia happy, this one will certainly go down as the mother of all, at least in the current year.
Last week the readers were informed about how an altogether new song had been composed for Sajid Nadiadwala's Anjaana Anjaani and was all set for picturisation today i.e. Monday. But wait, there is a lot more than meets the eye.
Today also happens to be Vishal Dadlani's (of Vishal-Shekhar duo) birthday. 'Well, happy birthday Vishal', one immediately wishes and also adds in the same breath, 'So how does this contribute to any trivia?'
Well, in a lot of ways actually! Here we go:
1. This is not the first time that a song with Vishal-Shekhar as the composers has been shot on Vishal's birthday. Two years ago, a song from Bachna Ae Haseeno was also shot on the same day.
2. Both Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani have music by Vishal-Shekhar, Siddharth Anand as the director and Ranbir Kapoor as the leading man.
3. The song shot in both instances was the title track
4. Both are club songs
5. During the song composition for Bachna Ae Haseeno, Vishal-Shekhar were composing for Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana. During the song composition for Anjaana Anjaani, Vishal-Shekhar were composing for Dostana 2.
6. In both instances, Tarun readily allowed his dates with Vishal-Shekhar to be utilised for Siddharth's film.
7. Both the tracks feature relatively new singers. While Bachna Ae Haseeno track saw Sumeet Kumar, son of Kishore Kumar coming behind the mike, Anjaana Anjaani has newbie Nikhil D'Souza pairing up with Monali Thakur (of 'Zara Zara Touch Me' fame).
8. Just as was the case with Bachna Ae Haseeno title track, even Anjaana Anjaani title track was the last to be recorded by Vishal-Shekhar. Naturally, in both the instances, these have turned out to be the last song from the film shot by Siddharth Anand.
One wonders whether this trivia could indeed by titled as 'Ajab Vishal Ke Ghazab Birthday Ki Kahani'?
Laughs Vishal, "Well, this is some mad coincidence! Wild, ain't it?"

Sanjay Dutt gets candid on Amar Singh, wife Maanyata and sisters with Subhash K Jha
Sanjay, how is life treating you?
Couldn't be better. I'm happy with my marriage and career and the handful of friends I can trust. I can count them on the hands of my fingers.
What do you think about your mentor Amar Singh turning into a movie actor?
He's pretty good at whatever he does. He's quite a movie buff.
Looking back do you think going into politics was a mistake?
I didn't go into politics. I did what I had to help Amar Singhji. At that I didn't realize it was the wrong party (the Samajwadi). Neither did he. Now he's started his non-political organization. I wasn't there for politics. I was there for Amar Singhji. And I'll continue to be there in whatever capacity I am required. Helping people has always been my first priority. Even when I campaigned during elections for the Samajwadi Party, I was actually looking after Amar Singhji who was very well. I was more concerned about him than the party while he was slogging through his illness for the party. Now see what the party has done for him. I'm glad he has dissociated himself from it.
You're going into film production now?
Yes we got delayed because of the recession. I don't want to make a small-budget film. My first film has to be a lavish spectacle. I think my film with David Dhawan would be the first Sanjay Dutt Production. But first let the industry recover. In my 30-year career I've never seen such bad times in the industry.
Are you happy?
Very happy. It has been a 30-year inning. Things have changed so much in the industry. I'm lucky to have survived.
On a personal level?
Oh I am very happy. My wife Maanyata really takes good care of me.
And your relationship with your sisters?
Perfect. Every family has its ups and downs. Our differences came into the news because we're the Dutts. Every household has its fights. But we can never be apart. We're the same blood.
Anything that you really want?
All I want is my freedom. I just need that one line from the law, 'You're free'. Every day I pray to be free. Otherwise everything is fine, I've started working out. And I am back in shape. I don't drink at all.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 28 Jun 2010 | 3:50 am Do Saheliyan to get a second chance?‘Do Saheliyaan’ might be pulled off the air by the channel according to the current rumours. This young bud is all about what's next, not what's now. In this same spirit, Dharma Productions and Karan Johar are always on the lookout for fresh, new talent that is 'on the verge'. Welcome Punit Malhotra. His debut film I Hate LUV Storys is on the verge of releasing this Friday and he is numb for the moment. What amazed me is the fact that he is a big fan of Sylvester Stallone and when questioned him on his best romantic film, he came up with Rocky from the few he mentioned. An observation only a scientist could've figured out, or perhaps, Punit himself. But that's what makes these young minds young. After talking to Punit, I realised that filmmaking isn't about old school and new school. But it's about how both come together to create a different school. That's what I Hate LUV Storys is all about: an amalgamation of love. Love of new ideologies, love of new strategies and love of making movies. Our man Malhotra has got all three. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent Devansh Patel talks to the debutant kid in direction about his debut film, debut nerves and debut delights. Unveiling Punit Malhotra and his love affair with movies. I Hate LUV Storys included.
Nerves
It feels very bizarre at this point of time. I'm not nervous, I'm not ecstatic but I'm just kind of numb. I'm doing my work everyday and that's about it.
Effervescence
Yes, the film has its own effervescence. But I Hate LUV Storys isn't different from any other film. Just the way you look at it makes you feel that the film is about a youngster's take on love stories. It's the entire thing you've seen in all the love stories but when you come out after watching the film, you'll not feel the same. It's a new take on the same old love stories.
Tweaking a love story
It was a conscious effort to be honest. I kind of wrote the film but didn't know where it was heading. I started writing a love story and when it started flowing, I was like; the direction I took was very irreverent. At the same time, it was very interesting too. In a way, IHLS is a little edgy. I am a first time director but to make a mockery of love requires guts. I hope all then boils down to the big Friday. Monday, my guts will have a new meaning and I'm going to have a lot of slack for it man, if the film doesn't work. I haven't tweaked IHLS. I've done it all in good humour.
Imran Khan
Imran is the lover boy, in the larger picture and as far as the genre of the film is concerned. If you look at him in the term of his character, he doesn't believe in love. In Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, he was sweet. In IHLS, I've made him a bit 'harami' (laughs). He's not always correct in IHLS. But he can't run away from the lover boy image. For his few films not to have worked at the B.O., it's not Imran's fault. He isn't trying to set up an image of sorts. If IHLS work, then the directors would want to cast him as the quintessential lover boy of Bollywood. But that's not what he wants.
As you are saying that there is a generation gap between Karan and myself but he is a very open minded person and a lot of people don't know that about him. He is very receptive of new ideas and open to any kind of talk in regards to any kind of cinema. When you go to him, you need to know what you're going to talk to him about. He is a keen listener and not many know that.
Overseas
IHLS is for the overseas audiences. It is. I'm not so sure yet though. But when people see the film, they'll totally get glued on to it and connect with it. Love happens to everyone, and opposites attract. But there are many who don't want to fall in love as they don't believe in it. IHLS has its songs, drama, emotions, etc. IHLS is catering to an urban audience, overseas audience and the people who are on the same page as all of us.

Ok, here's the thing. Anushka Sharma is in good company. The question is, shall we thank Aditya Chopra or Nikhil Advani or both? So here's a short story on why Nikhil Advani opted for Anushka Sharma for Patiala House.
One of the close sources from London reveals, "Nikhil Advani still remembers the day when he read an article on why Aditya Chopra cast Anushka Sharma opposite Shah Rukh Khan for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The reason which Adi gave to the Press was that he wanted the audiences to feel that they were watching a SRK film but landed up coming out of the cinema houses seeing Suri, the character SRK plays in the film."
The source adds further, "If Nikhil had cast any well known face opposite Akshay Kumar, the audiences reaction would be different. Here they are clearly going to go in the cinemas watching an Akshay Kumar film but he wants them to come out of the theatres watching the character Akki plays. Nikhil wanted to make the characters real and so he cast Anushka Sharma. People are going to remember the character Anushka plays more than the actress of RNBDJ. Add to that, she is only remembered through RNBDJ as of now. Patiala House is a film with real characters, real moments and real emotions. In fact, Nikhil has also decided to tag this film 'A film by Nikhil Advani' as it remains true to himself more than giving out any wrong notions about the film to the audiences."
Well, for now, all Nikhil needs to do is - Thank Aditya Chopra for roping in Anushka Sharma. And two, pray that Patiala House brings the house down with its antics, emotions and a good story telling.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 28 Jun 2010 | 2:23 am Vivek Oberoi signed for 'Swayamvar Season 3'?
Has Vivek Oberoi been signed for Season 3 of 'Swayamvar', the reality show at a TV channel that had earlier roped in Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan for Season 1 and Season 2 respectively?
That's the buzz going around the B-town for the week gone by. While sources have claimed that Vivek is a hot contender for the show, considering his single status and popularity amongst women, the fact is something entirely different. The actor, who has seen a new lease to his professional career post Prince, is in no mood to tie the knot in near future, least of all on a reality show.
"This is as ridiculous as it gets", says a source close to Vivek, "There is no truth to the entire story and is imaginative as it gets. Earlier there were names like Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni spoken around. Then there were some other lesser names also that came in. Now all of a sudden Vivek's name has cropped up. It isn't even funny to be laughed away."
A 'news' like this comes at the time when Vivek is looking forward to his upcoming assignment like Ram Gopal Varma's Rakta Charitra, Part I of which is aiming for a September release. After that, there is also a Mani Ratnam film which is pretty much on the anvil.
No wonder, conspiracy theories are being discussed in hush-hush tone. Last 12 months had seen an upswing in Vivek's career with first Kurbaan and then Prince lighting up the scene for him. Just when the actor had got through the 'let bygones be bygones' phase and moved on to concentrate entirely on his work and refused to get into any personal conversations, a news piece like 'Swayamvar' stands out like a sore thumb.
While Vivek refused to comment on the entire 'issue', one wonders whether his silence has yet again made him a soft target for media as well as industry alike? What can be said for sure though is that there is lot more he can be expected to talk about once his film comes closer to release. After all Ramu's gritty reel world of Rakta Charitra inspired from real life can be expected to make for a far better outing than 'Swayamvar' where the difference between real and reel world could be considerably blurred!Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 28 Jun 2010 | 1:51 am 'Ranbir and I make for a good story' - Hindustan Times
