Last Night on Late Night: Chris Matthews Has Some Advice For Chelsea Handler

Jay Leno welcomed MSNBC's Chris Matthews to The Tonight Show for his insight about dreadful things like BP's big mess, scary cover-ups and Dick Cheney but the Hardball host also showed that he could bring the funny after co-guest Chelsea Handler sarcastically asked him to slow down his rapid-fire analysis of said topics. Ha! Up next, Josh Holloway tells Jimmy Kimmel about the time a masseuse mistook him for someone other than Sawyer from Lost and Craig Ferguson brings us an exclusive photo of a recently discovered ancient sex toy. Finally, Jimmy Fallon wraps up his epic Lost parody, Late, with a nightmare ending that finds our hero losing his show to a veteran talk show host who isn't Jay Leno. Industry Roundup: Robyn and Kelis Team Up For Tour

Heart to Heart: Robyn and Kelis will be embarking on a co-headlining tour, which they announced today via a cutesy back-and-forth Twitter conversation. After some initial banter, Kelis tweeted, "Lets call [the tour] 'All Hearts.' What do you think?"... to which Robyn responded: “#allheartstour in the us. heartbrake on all four on top of a speaker in a shower of star dust and acid rain," which we're just going to assume was her way of saying "Sounds good." [Pitchfork]

Taking The Chair: Screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code) will make his directing debut with Man and Wife, a drama about an assassin who is hired to kill a family but has trouble going through with it when he “falls in love with them.” It's the "them" there that's tripping us up a bit, but color us intrigued. [Deadline]

Scream Makes Offers: Dimension has begin casting Scream 4, which will bring back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, but with a new roster of younger folk. Lake Bell is in negotiations to join the film, and offers have been made to Ashley Greene (Twilight), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) and Rory Culkin (Twelve) for key roles. Greene would play the film’s heroine, Campbell’s cousin; Panettiere would be Greene's nerdy "film geek" best friend; Culkin would play Greene’s love interest; and Bell is in negotiations to play a police officer. Apparently casting is moving slowly because the studio isn’t sending the script out to “protect its secrecy,” so actors are having trouble deciding if roles are for them based on the character descriptions alone. Here’s a clue, guys: you're all going to have to shriek a lot, maybe kiss each other once or twice, and then die in some overly staged manner. [Heat Vision/HR]

Blame The Book: Chris Lowell (Private Practice) is in negotiations to join The Help, based on Kathryn Stockett’s novel. The film stars Emma Stone as Skeeter, an aspiring writer in 1960s Mississippi who writes a book about the way black maids are treated by society. Lowell will play her boyfriend, a senator's son who breaks up with her because of the book. But probably also a little bit because it just got too hard for him to say his girlfriend's name with a straight face. [HR]

Double Mac: Just as the parody MacGruber is hitting theaters, things are moving along on the film adaptation of MacGyver, the television series which inspired it. Jason Richman (Bad Company) will write the script, based on the adventure series which ran from 1985 to 1992 on ABC. Despite the strange timing, at least the release of the parody doesn't seem to be deterring this project, after the failed attempt by MacGyver's creator to block MacGruber's release. No doubt Pepsi will be banned on the MacGyver set. [Risky Business/HR]

Strange Indeed: Dance-punk band !!! is releasing new album Strange Weather, Isn’t It? on August 24, their first album since 2007’s Myth Takes. The rare album title that doubles as an ice breaker. [Pitchfork]

Kaboom!: Gary Oldman will lend his voice to Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom, the 3D sequel to the 2008 original, centered on a panda named Po voiced by Jack Black. Oldman will voice "a character named Peacock," who is "more than he seems" and who helps Po find evil bandits. Wait, is the idea here that the "character" named Peacock isn't actually a peacock? For a kids' movie, Kaboom seems poised to pose some incisive philosophical questions. [Heat Vision/HR]

Going The Distance Trailer: Drew Barrymore and Justin Long Try To Make Things Work

Movies featuring real-life couples seem to hit one of two extremes: either they’re pleasant surprises (The Break-Up) or, well, Gigli-riffic. And after viewing the first trailer for this August’s Going the Distance, a Nanette Burstein romantic comedy about a long-distance relationship, which stars Drew Barrymore and her long-time, on-and-off boyfriend Justin Long, this one… seems like it could go either way! On the plus side, it’s got some top-notch supporting players (Christina Applegate, SNL’s Jason Sudeikis, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Charlie Day) and Barrymore thankfully appears to have turned down her sanguine dial a bit. Working against it though is the couple’s vaguely irritating, (500) Days of Summer-esque banter (“What’s your favorite food?" "Tortellini." "How would you like to die?" "Eating too much tortellini"), not to mention jokes revolving around pubic hair, overzealous male-on-male hugging and the trials of fake tanning.

BP Official: Leak Could Be Stopped By Next Week

Despite the series of failed attempts over the past few weeks to stop the ridiculous amounts of oil gushing out of the damaged Gulf of Mexico well, a BP official is now claiming that the leak could be stopped by as early as next week. BP Managing Director Bo Dudley appeared on Larry King Live tonight and said the company will be pumping fluids into the well this weekend in a process called the "top kill" (yet another name that sounds more like a movie starring The Rock than a legit oil spill cleanup technique). If it’s successful though, Dudley said the leak could be shut off in just a few days.

"We've x-rayed it. We think we know what the inside looks and be able to pump in heavy fluid to try to shut off that well," he said. "If that option doesn't work, we've got a second and a third option we'll do after that. We're hopeful that next week we'll be able to shut it off."

Pakistani Taliban 'Plotting' Against U.S. Targets, Officials Say

Nothing like some upbeat news right before the onset of a sunny, almost-summer weekend! Senate Officially Passes Financial Overhaul Bill

Scott Brown, pre-vote.

After voting to end a filibuster against stopping debate earlier today, the Senate passed the financial overhaul bill Thursday evening, seen as the most sweeping set of changes to the financial system since the New Deal. The bill was approved by a 59-39 margin, with four Republicans joining the Democratic majority. But it's not time to uncork that bottle of champagne you've been saving quite yet, as the bill will now be reconciled with the House version - where they will work out the differences the two bodies have with it - before both chambers vote again and then send the finalized bill to the president.

James Franco Scores Lead in Planet of the Apes Prequel

Somehow, amidst his packed calendar of starring in ad campaigns, writing short stories, hanging out with Marina Abramovic, taking classes, guesting on General Hospital and dueting with drag queens, James Franco has managed to line up two high-profile acting gigs. Franco will star in the Planet of the Apes prequel, Rise of the Apes, set for a June 2011 release, in which he will play a young scientist who becomes a “crucial figure in the war between humans and apes.” He also signed on Thursday to Summit’s Ricky Stanicky, a R-rated ensemble comedy “in the vein of The Hangover” (of course) about three friends who hire an actor (Franco) to play Ricky Stanicky, the imaginary guy they’ve been blaming for all their misdeeds for twenty years. Now this sounds more in line with Franco's preferred brand of "meta."

We’re Very Close to The End: The Latest Internet Lost Finale Theories

"I've got to stop shaving in my sleep."

Whether you’ve been watching Lost for one month or six years, there’s a lot of pressure on this Sunday’s finale to deliver the goods. Viewers want an emotionally satisfying, information-laden, logical resolution to one of the most ambitious television series of all time. And yet, with only two and a half hours remaining, we still don’t have a very good idea of what that resolution is going to look like. This week’s installment of our favorite Island drama gave some interesting answers and left us with a season's worth of questions, but it’s time to focus on how everything will wind down. For insight into the possibilities for the finale, we looked to our favorite recappers, bloggers, and commenters for answers, perhaps for the last time ever.

• Since it appears that alt-Hurley has already come to terms with his life in the original timeline, the finale’s going to be all about the Sideways characters grappling with their suddenly downloaded memories and what to do with that knowledge. Either they’re going to have to make a choice to reject one timeline and all that comes with it, or they will somehow become complete in the Sideways universe with these memories. [Tuned In/Time]

Battlestar Galactica’s finale involved an opera house. Lost’s finale looks like it partially take place in a concert hall. Could this be a hint that Sunday’s finale will be end similarly? [MTV Movies Blog]

• We know who the expected guests at the concert are, but what about the unexpected arrivals? Keep an eye out for Eloise Hawking making a last-ditch effort to keep the Sideways universe intact. [Watcher/Chicago Tribune]

• Though it wouldn’t be his intention, Desmond entering the Source would set off a chain reaction of events that would destroy the Island. Hopefully Jack the Protector can keep that from happening. And if Des is going to be successful in taking down Smokey, it’s going to require action on his part in both timelines. [Mistaking Coincidence for Fate]

• Getting the gang together just to help them “remember” the original timeline isn’t worth all the effort Des is putting forth, so there’s got to be something more important he’s after. It’s possible the epiphanies in the Sideways universe will somehow help out the surviving members of the original timeline in taking Smokey down. [Magic Lamp]

• Ripe for death in the finale are Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley, since they were only being kept alive because they were candidates. Now that Jack has taken over, one or all of them could perish in the final showdown. [TV Squad]

• The best way for the series to end would be for Jack to find out that everything he had been told about the Source is flat-out wrong, and that everything we’ve seen is the result of campaign of misinformation. [AV Club]

• We seem to be headed for another eternity of strife, with Jack in the Jacob role and Ben playing the part of Smokey. But Desmond is a game-changer, and he’s likely to ask everyone to “let go,” encouraging these characters to question dogma and move beyond it. That’s the only way the cycle of violence wrought by the Island can come to an end. [Slate]

• Doc Jensen isn't so sure our castaways can even kill the smoke monster—after all, how does one destroy something that is just pure (evil) soul? Maybe the trick is getting him to do it himself, playing on his nostalgia for once being human. As for protecting the cave, maybe everyone will wind up protector. If every man has a little bit of it inside himself, why not just re-distribute the contents of the cave amongst the world? Doc posits that Desmond popping inside is the way to do this (though he also argues that either Ben or Hurley will end up as the Island's new protector). Plus: Ben is totally conning MiB. [Totally Lost/EW]

• What was up with Desmond prank-calling Jack about Oceanic finding his dad's coffin? Is it to keep him away from the concert everyone seems to be heading to? Maybe he needs to be at the airport from some reason, possibly to get on a plane. [Ed: Where IS Christian's body, anyway?] [Arts Beat/NYT]

• Desmond called Jack about the coffin because he has it waiting in Hurley's Hummer, putting four generations of Shephard men—Jack, Christian, David, and Aaron—all in the same place at the concert, along with every other character (click through to see this writer's idea of their paths to the concert, though Sun and Jin are a bit up in the air). Speaking of Aaron, it's very likely that 57-month-pregnant Claire will go into labor at the concert. Perhaps they'll need an airlift to the hospital, piloted by none other than Frank Lapidus. And while we're on the subject of Aaron, he's not who Jacob was talking about when he told Kate he crossed her name off because she became a mother; he crossed her name off because she is pregnant, with a baby conceived during her and Jack's sad we're-going-back-to-the-Island-sex before they headed for Ajira 316. [JOpinionated]

• But why would Desmond want Jack at the airport? If the Island is underwater, there would be nothing for a new plane to crash on to. On Island, meanwhile, Richard definitely isn't dead, and he's going to team up with Miles. Might they head to Hydra and find an also not dead Lapidus floating in the sea? [Long Live Locke]

• The fact that the bamboo grove where Jack first landed is right next to the cave/heart of the Island proves that he really has been the candidate all along. Could his final acceptance of this be why he's bleeding in the Sideways world? Does it reflect his saying goodbye to mortality? This blogger isn't certain what will happen when everyone "wakes up" in the Sideways timeline, but is confident they'll all do it at the same time. [Televisionary]

• Why do we keep seeing that cut on Jack's neck? Because he's going to get that injury on the Island right when the two timelines merge together. Also, can MiB exist in Locke's form off the Island? [TV Guide]

• It was a bad move on Smokey's part to tell Ben he was going to destroy the Island—considering he just promised Ben he could have it, why would Ben help him if he's only going to destroy it? Also, where did Jack get that cup? [Videogum]

• WaPo's dueling bloggers are indeed dueling when it comes to the finale, as one of them is doubting Sideways-Desmond's intentions, nothing that he doesn't seem like the nicest guy in this world. However, the other argues that Des is doing exactly what he told Ben he was doing—he does want to wake them all up and make them whole. Chances are this wake-up is going to happen at the exact same moment that MiB tries to destroy the Island, but perhaps Sideways-Desmond's efforts will save things…and reunite him with Penny. [Celebritology/WaPo]

• Jack isn't going to stick around as the protector of the Island, and the show itself has provided proof: first of all, from Mother's words ("I see now that it was always you."), it looks like the Island has chosen past protectors, not vice versa. Jacob noticed Jack's hesitation in volunteering for the job, and also told him to protect it for "as long as you can," which could be no time at all. Finally, if it seems like anyone on this Island is sure of what they're meant to do, it's not Jack—it's Desmond. [Watch With Kristen/E! Online]

• No theories from this blogger, but she does ask an interesting question that could have serious implications for the finale: why are their different degrees of visions? Hurley seems to remember everything and everyone (i.e. Ana Lucia), yet Ben only remembered getting beat up by Desmond. What happens if everyone doesn't wake up completely? [Nik at Nite]

• Assuming Smokey succeeding in destroying the Island creates the Sideways timeline, where is Smokey in that timeline? Could he be someone who died in the original timeline? Or could he be someone we hadn't met before, like David Shephard? [Tom and Lorenzo]

• David probably isn't the Man in Black, but what if he's a device constructed to keep Jack invested in the Sideways timeline? What happens if Jack has to choose between worlds? It seems there's something keeping them all distracted—Kate's running, Hurley's happily Rich, Sayid travels the world, Sawyer's still obsessed with Anthony Cooper, Ben meets Rousseau just as he gets his "wake-up call," etc. P.S. Hurley's probably taking Sayid to see Shannon. [It Happened Last Night]

• Redemption is definitely a major theme this season, but what about loneliness? Jacob—pretty much the loneliest guy out there, having lived alone on an Island for 2,000 years with an murderous monster masquerading as his brother—points out that our candidates were like him, "all alone, all looking for something you couldn't find out there." Watch for this theme in Sunday's final chapter. [The Lost Blog/Filmfodder]

• Commenter uberlegitimate doesn't buy Widmore's excuse that Jacob sent him back to the Island. Instead, he returned (both times) to take the power of the light in the cave, and planned to use Desmond to get it.

dignell guesses that Sawyer will be the one to reconcile the timelines. His life isn't great in either one, and, despite his snarky comments, he looked a bit jealous as he watched Jack drink with Jacob.

tights_are_not_pants thinks that walkie-talkie was more for Miles's protection than for a way for Ben to keep in touch with him. Remember when he smashed that walkie from Widmore earlier in the season? Could any electronics function as a low-level pylon? If there's one thing Ben always has, it's a plan.

Sboobydoo doesn't think Widmore died when Ben shot him, either because he was wearing a vest or because of the "rules" they mentioned a few seasons ago that prevent the two from killing each other—rules that MiB doesn't know about. Don't discount Ben's redemption plotline with Ilana so quickly.

Bret Michaels Back in the Hospital

Although he had been making progress recovering from a potentially fatal brain hemorrhage, Bret Michaels is back in the hospital after suffering an apparently unrelated "warning stroke." While scanning for blood clots, doctors also identified a hole in Michaels's heart. It's not all bad news, though: Both conditions are treatable, and, according to Michaels's rep, he is "in good spirits, great medical hands and is positive and hopeful that everything is going to be OK. He is up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive but he has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again." The ‘Cult of Khaki’ Is Upon Us

Spring 2010 looks from left: Michael Bastian, Band of Outsiders, Burberry.

Remember when jeans became a thing? One day they were just blue $60 cotton pants, and the next they were $200 expertly sandblasted premium denim pants. Bespoke denim stores offering all kinds of washes and vintage treatments popped up. Pick your rivets! Gold, silver, or bronze! Maybe real diamonds! Now we have jeggings and all kinds of crazy things. Well, the same thing is happening to khakis, according to the Times, since they're the new fancy jean for young men:

[W]ith the fascination over premium denim having nearly exhausted its laundry list of spins, it is not surprising that, this spring, young men’s fancy has turned to khaki. The appeal — at least in theory — is simple. More dressed up than jeans without getting all fancy-pants, khaki can go to the office, then go to the dogs: the Eddie Haskell of clothing.

The new high-end khakis are getting, like jeans did, quite complicated:

[J]ust as Jean Shop took denim mania to a new level of fetish, offering a spectrum of perfected fits and attractive washes, shops like Save Khaki and Grown & Sewn are hard at work cultivating a cult of khaki, with different fits, colors and weights of fabric. Grown & Sewn has even gone all archival, using Cramerton cloth, used in the 1930s for United States military uniforms, as one of its fabrics, but has borrowed a blue-jeans fit to give its khakis a jolt of sex appeal.

Even Dockers are coming out with sexy, high-end khakis. But the pants come with an inherent and very grave danger:

[E]ven with the ministrations of new designers, khakis have some liabilities that jeans do not. Pair khakis with a sport coat or a dress shirt, and you run the risk of looking either needlessly spiffy or parentally bland, more Harvard Business School professor than social networking seer.

Derrick Miller, who founded men's accessories line Barker Black, says to keep his from getting "white-bread," he pegs them and wears them "a little short and beaten up, make them a little rock ’n’ roll." So we've entered the age of rock-and-roll khakis! In other words, it's probably how Cape Cod people look when they've woken up on the beach the morning after their raging all-night clambakes. Up next: distressed needlepoint belts with gimpy one-armed lobsters!!

Julian Schnabel Scholds Audience at Hiro Ballroom

Having Julian Schnabel come to your defense is a double-edged sword, actor Ben Foster found when he hosted the Anthology Film Archives 40th-anniversary event at Hiro ballroom last night. The rustling and talking of the crowd during Foster's introduction of acts — the Virgins, Sonic Youth, and Lou Reed, among others — so unnerved the Schnab that the artist was moved to jump onstage, grab the mike, and schold the audience: "I'm sorry, are we bothering you down here?" he bleated, addressing the upstairs balcony, where most of the noise was coming from. "Ben is down here saying some important and intelligent things," he went on. "Why don't you have some fucking respect? You people are making me sick." Though the crowd was momentarily shocked into silence, it didn't last, and as an eruption of boos from the audience started making things more awkward, Foster was forced to step onstage and assure the crowd that really, "I don't care" if they listened to him or not, no doubt thinking: Thanks a lot, Schnabel. Thanks for schnothing.

Song of the Summer: Rhythm and Blues

Yesterday, our picks for rock SOTS were maligned, and that’s understandable: Those were mainstream selections, and the chart toppers will not always sit well with the persnickety pop-music fan. Today’s tracks, however, coming from the world of radio R&B, should be easier to digest, as they are actually pretty good. (Except Jason Derulo — that dude’s annoying.) And today’s contenders are:

Janelle Monáe, “Tightrope”
An incessantly funky banger that's already the choice of the discerning tastemaker. Can that kind of elitist approval propel the relatively unknown Monáe into mass appeal? It's her best shot right now.

The-Dream, “Love King”
In classic The-Dream style, this one's a grower, which is a great attribute for the ruthlessly long SOTS season, where sudden overexposure has felled far greater competitors.

Rihanna, “Rude Boy”
A front-runner that's made itself nice and comfortable in the top tier of the Billboard 100. Closer analysis, however, could spell doom: The album it's from has been around since the fall, and it's already hit No. 1 (it's now at No. 9). Is a more precipitous drop in its future?

Jason Derulo, “In My Head”
This is newcomer Derulo's second hit, after "Watcha Say," and it's exactly the kind of anonymous, artless song you'd expect from a guy who hasn't yet found a defined personality. That, to us, spells longevity, but not transcendence, on the charts.

And with that, we wrap up the category-by-category SOTS rollout. We'll return shortly with regular updates on the always dynamic SOTS race (we see you, Miley!), Until next time ...

Ben Bradlee: ‘I Think It’s Quite Hard to Predict That [Newsweek] Will Be Bought’

Lloyd Grove asked former Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee, who in 1961 helped convince the Graham family to acquire Newsweek, who he thought would buy his for-sale sister publication. "I think it's quite hard to predict that it will be bought," Bradlee told him. "I mean, it loses money, its prospects for making money are not immediately attractive to some investor — and I don’t know what will happen." Yikes. One Banker Is Definitely Not Getting an Invite to the White House Anytime Soon

The president is generally pretty even-tempered, but a few things make him angry. Leaks from inside the administration. Fox News. Fools who talk too much. Fool oil companies who screw up their pipelines and ruin the ocean. And those damn fat-cat bankers. One in particular, according to Jonathan Alter's new book, The Promise.

Obama later told a friend that the angriest he got as president in his first year was when he heard [CEO Lloyd] Blankfein justify his compensation by saying "that Goldman [Sachs] was never in danger of collapse. That was flatly untrue," Obama said.

"Let me get this straight," the president said."They're now saying that they deserve big bonuses because they're making money again. But they're making money because they've got government guarantees? These guys want to be paid like rock stars when all they're doing is lip-synching capitalism."

We have to hand it to the President, though. Even when he's furious, the man is good with the one-liners. Bet he never has that thing where he only thinks of a comeback after the fact.

Mayor Bloomberg Thinks the Sidewalk Lanes Were a Kind Gesture to Tourists

We can honestly say we never considered the sunny interpretation of the tourist sidewalk lanes that Mayor Bloomberg offered up earlier today: "It certainly says something about our feeling for tourists. They're willing to give up some space to the people that come here and support our industries." He isn't serious, is he? He's just trying to sweep our beef with slow-walking (but economically vital) tourists under the rug, right? When a reporter asked whether Bloomberg thought the lanes perhaps reflected irritation with tourists, Bloomberg said, "You've got to be a pretty sick person to take it that way, I think." No, he's definitely not serious. Right? [Daily Politics/NYDN]

Why Should Michelle Obama’s Glamour Be Startling?

Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn noticed that the reactions to Michelle Obama's latest state-dinner ensemble — a sparkly blue dress with a lace-up back, curly hair, and blue eye shadow — are generally gushing. But she also noticed that some were "startled" by the look:

Mrs. Obama’s clothes have made a statement before, but this time people seemed startled by her full-on glamour. Reaction on blogs has been generally enthusiastic, though someone on the Huffington Post referred to her look as “Lady Gaga Alejandro Style.” Not sure what that means, exactly. Lady Gaga is like a sticker that be applied to anything the least bit sparkly or bouffant. Mrs. Obama’s dress, by Peter Soronen, had a corseted bodice with a lace-up back and blue chiffon layered over lamé chiffon and silk.

Meanwhile, in photographs, the President has the gruff forbearance of a high school senior trying to look cool in front of his hot date. Of course she’s blowing everybody out of the water, including him.

Is America having a tough time adjusting to a First Lady that likes to look a little trendy, and even a little sexy, when she dresses up? This was certainly one of her more va-va-voom looks, but fashion-wise, she's always been creative for a First Lady. It's not Oscar de la Renta, pantsuit, Oscar de la Renta, pantsuit. Just because she's in Washington doesn't mean she has to be predictable. If she likes dressing up, should that be such a surprise? And if we're going to compare this look to anyone, let's go with Diana Ross, which is who Horyn compares her to. Not Gaga. She's not Christina Aguilera, after all.

Donna Karan’s Neighbor Tries to Come Between Her and Liquor License, Bothersome Parties

Donna Karan wants to obtain a liquor license for her West Village Urban Zen Center, which is adjacent to her studio at 711 Greenwich Street. Her application for the license (which hasn't yet been submitted to the State Liquor Authority) is on tonight's Community Board 2 agenda. Possibly standing in Karan's way: a neighbor who's worried about the potential noise disturbance. The neighbor in question sent an e-mail to students at NYU's Stern Business School asking them to help rally against the license at tonight's meeting.

From the e-mail:

I need some help. Donna Karan, the fashion designer, has a studio next door to my apartment. She wants to get a liquor license for her studio so she can have parties there and bother my family. I am hoping that as many of you as possible would be willing to come with me to a community board meeting tonight to sit down, look angry at Donna's lawyers, and clap when my side makes an argument. In exchange for your loyalty, you will get vouchers for beer or liquor (ironically) and pizza... The pizza and beer vouchers are redeemable at my apartment at some date this summer or fall. At a minimum, I hope the whole affair will be theatrical and a bit funny.

Many parties have been held at Karan's studio in the past; they haven't been particularly raucous. But no matter what happens, if the author of this e-mail rallies enough support tonight, maybe he can lash back at Donna with a drunken, noisy voucher party of his own.

And I’ll tell you one thing, Jim Belushi didn’t end up living in a trailer with Wayne Rooney. He hit the homerun, married Rene Russo*and lived in a mansion house with a fancy car!

Courtney Love Claims She Had an Affair With Kate Moss

Another day, another Courtney Love–affair claim. Recently it was Gavin Rossdale, and now it's Kate Moss! Love had been saying for a while that she had an affair with a supermodel in the nineties and now, the developing information:

"It was Kate Moss. She doesn't care," Love told Irish magazine Hot Press. "It's a great story for the grandchildren so . . . yeah. Kate wasn't doing a lot of drugs. It was just a thing that happened in Milan in the Nineties. It happened and it was fun and whatever. And she talks about it and so I hope she doesn't get mad that I outed her about it ... I feel like such a kiss and tell ... Kate's great, though! Kate's a good friend of mine. I almost bought Kate's house in St. John's Wood."

Of course she wouldn't care. She wears her rompers backward! British Vogue continues, "Moss has not yet released a statement about the allegations," like they view having an affair with Courtney Love as some sort of criminal act.

'Mean Girls'-esque 'Mean Moms' headed for the big screen

The idea of Regina George as a mother is anything but fetch. In fact, it's pretty petrifying. But apparently, even years after mean girls graduate from high school, they can still fail to acquire the emotional maturity necessary to transform into functional, likable human beings. They can turn into "mean moms."

LOST OPEN THREAD: Who Will Have The Last Line In The Finale?

In an attempt to get Lost internet overexposure to implode back on itself, let’s count down to Sunday’s finale with a series of Open Thread questions to build up for our inevitable disappointfusion around the ol’ water cooler on Monday morning.

Today’s question:

Who will speak the last line in the series finale?

Answers (and optional explanations) in the comments, por favLost.

The unofficial Vegas lines for the line (wordplay!):

Jack: 2-1
Desmond: 3-1
Sawyer: 7-1
Kate: 7-1
Hurley: 7-1
Locke / Man In Black: 12-1
Ben: 15-1
Richard: 25-1
Jacob: 30-1
Claire: 50-1
Rose: 500-1
Other: 100-1

So who’s it gonna be? Debate away in the comments.

If you guess correctly, you’ll receive a high-five from me. Remember to leave your name, credit card number, and that number on the back of your credit card in the comments so I can deliver your high-five.

My own answer, after the jump:

I think the last line is gonna be Desmond saying “See ya in another life, brothah,” if only because a friend of mine suggested that and I can’t possibly think of a better or more appropriate way for the series to end. I think Ben and Locke will both be dead by the end, and I’m not sure why Sawyer or Kate would randomly be given the last line over Jack, if the show goes the “main character” route instead.

As a sleeper bet, though, I like Hurley at 7-1 in the arbitrary odds system I just made up — I could totally foresee the show taking a light route and allowing Hurley to give some winking quip at the very end to punctuate, and maybe undermine, whatever dramatic conclusion just occurred. Plus there’s no way the show’s gonna kill off Hurley.

Still? The bet here is Desmond. Or Keamy. Please agree/disagree.

Glee Porn Parody Surprisingly Not Gay Porn

Well, the fine people behind porn have done it again. They’ve crushed an actress’ dream gone ahead and made a Glee porn parody. Swapping autotune for autopoon, the casting directors have really outdone themselves in finding paid sex workers who look and kind of sound like your favorite Glee cast members (secret pun!). You’ve got:

  • Porn Rachel: Looks like Lea Michelle, and sounds like her, despite the fact that she hasn’t been a virgin since the age of 14.
  • Porn Mercedes: All the weight from her body has gone straight to her chest and ass.
  • Porn Mr. Schuester: Their chins are exactly alike, but Porn-Schue is like 60 years old.
  • Porn Sue Sylvester: Exactly the same.
  • Other Asian: Other Asian.

The biggest surprise, it seems, is that the Glee Porn Parody isn’t the gayest porn ever made. Language is NSFW, but we suggest risking it to hear their all-too-catchy version of “We Will F**k You.”

Bethenny Frankel’s Skype Disaster: Tech Problems? Or Jill Zarin Sabotage?

Bethenny Frankel appeared on the luminous 4th hour of the Today Show this morning via Skype to promote talk about her brand new baby Bryn and the “Oys!” of motherhood. (Book publishers, are you reading these puns? I will give you gold, just call me.)

But about a minute in, something went horrible wrong. And Bethenny, well… she froze. For real. Some might blame this gaff on technology. But not us. We know better. This is clearly the work of Jill Zarin-Fabrics.

Must watch video ahead.

Kellan Bloody Lutz On Twitter

Well, we’ve found the worst way to get Twitter followers. That award isn’t going anywhere, so don’t worry, Tattoo Lady. You win. Sit back and reap your rewards. I’d just like to give honorable/celebrity mention to Kellan Lutz for this stunt:

Because that’s disgusting. I understand it’s a wink to your character, the vampire. Whose name I don’t recall. Absy? However, that is literally more blood than I’ve ever seen in all of the Twilight films combined. Now that I think about it, why is there so little blood in Twilight? It’s about vampires, is it not? I forget. I went all Memento over here.

Anyway. Kellan wrote:

“Trying to get verified… hope this works. HaHaHa @kellanlutz.”

HaHaHa you’re insane. So follow him, thus verifying him as a person. Because Kellan didn’t kill that puppy and kitten for their blood to smear all over his body and write a sign with his pinky finger so that you could not follow him.

United Nude Bows on Bond

A view of the trippy-cool "dark-shop."

Sculptural shoe brand United Nude launches its New York flagship on Bond Street today. The brand was founded by Dutch architect Rem D Koolhaas (nephew of starchitect Rem Koolhaas, who designed the Prada flagship in New York), resulting in some towering, precariously artsy heels. The moodily lit, so-called “dark-shop” is a replica of the company’s Amsterdam flagship, with the shoes displayed around the perimeter of the space in glowing, back-lit frames. Though United Nude has an existing franchise store on Elizabeth Street, the new digs stock nine exclusive styles. One other feature worth ogling: the gleaming, Batmobile-like Lamborghini, shipped from China and parked in the middle of the store.

The Toledos’ Opera Vision: Menacing Spike-Toed Heels and a Horned Bra

Isabel and Ruben Toledo sketch an opera fantasy.

In honor of the New York City Opera's benefit tonight, DIVAS Shop for Opera, 25 designers were invited to create sketches inspired by a classical character from the stage. The last of the submissions just arrived, and we got a sneak peek. Though all are high-drama — Carlos Falchi conjured up a ballgown of metallic snakeskin — our favorites are these two fantastically vampy illustrations by power couple Isabel and Ruben Toledo. The hot-pink, fan-flapping design is inspired by Carmen from Bizet's Carmen, and the Viking in the serious "It" helmet is their take on Brunhilde from Richard Wagner's The Ring Cycle.

Attendees can bid on sketches during the silent auction and buy clothing donated by designers like Anna Sui, Jason Wu, Chado Ralph Rucci, and Tory Burch. Tickets are still available at the door ($75 for one, $125 for two), but be prepared to splurge: The starting bid for each illustration is $500.

DIVAS Shop for Opera, 82 Mercer St., nr. Spring St., second fl. (212-870-5622); 6–10.

The Go Go 90’s: Courtney Love + Kate Moss

We got some Hot Press coming through! Hot Press! Courtney Love recently sat down with Ireland’s Hot Press (Hot Press! Can’t stop saying it) and revealed that she had an affair, a lesbian affair, with Kate Moss in the 90’s.  Says Love:

“It’s a great story for the grandchildren so . . . yeah. Kate wasn’t doing a lot of drugs. It was just a thing that happened in Milan in the ‘90s. It happened and it was fun and whatever. And she talks about it and so I hope she doesn’t get mad that I outed her about it… I feel like such a kiss and tell… Kate’s great, though! Kate’s a good friend of mine. I almost bought Kate’s house in St. John’s Wood (London).”

That’s so weird because I almost bought Kate’s house in St. John’s Wood in London too!

I like how Love needs to make it clear that Kate wasn’t doing a lot of drugs. Like, she came to Love of her own accord, clearheaded in her intent to make Love hers, lesbian-wise. Sure. It’s Milan in the 90’s, the decade characterized by heroin chic. There were drugs involved. I’m not saying that Kate (I call her Kate) wouldn’t come to Love of her own free will. She’s a rock legend with a crazy amount of magnetism, emphasis on the crazy. I myself intend to die in a sex competition with Courtney Love, with no help of illicit substances. But let’s just call a spade a spade, Courtney Love. Don’t sell me a bag of goods. The goods, of course, being cocaine.

Alright, good stuff!

The Mysterious Yearning Secretive Sad Lonely Troubled Confused Loving Musical Gifted Intelligent Beautiful Tender Sensitive Haunted Passionate Talented Mrs. Celine Dion

Some people love Celine Dion ironically. Some people hate Celine Dion with a passion saved only for Nazis and Nickelback. I fall into neither of these camps. Because I love Celine Dion really and truly and deeply. I find her talent endless, her antics hilarious, her concerts enlightening, her attitude inspiring, her Larry King interviews epic. There is, in my opinion, nothing not to like about Celine Dion.

Fellow VH1.com brethren and Celine-fan Rich Juzwiak shares my love for this classy songstress, having once put together a compilation video called “Celine Dion is Amazing.” Today, Rich is back with a new thesis statement: CELINE DION IS STILL AMAZING. Using clips from another one of her memorable DVDs released last week called Céline Through the Eyes of the World, Rich has put together 5 minutes worth of Celine footage that SHOULD NOT BE MISSED.

And I ain’t even gonna front: During her “allergic emergency,” I could not understand why nobody was on the phone with 911 getting her an ambulance.
