Last Night on Late Night: Alec Baldwin Dishes on Tina Fey's Conquests

No discussion about the upcoming 30 Rock season finale would be complete without mentioning Liz Lemon's latest celebrity boyfriend but Alec Baldwin took things a bit farther on The Late Show, pointing out Tina Fey's recent Seinfeld-like approach to casting her character's love interests. Next up, Robert Downey Jr. and Craig Ferguson hint at their past experiments with female hair removal products while Stephen Colbert can't help but admire Rupert Murdoch's unique method of farming news. Later, LL Cool J notes how much Jimmy Fallon looked like everyone's favorite male model back when the Late Night host was a teenager. Finally, Jon Stewart tries to relate to BP's next bizarre plan to stop the massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico by pulling a Britney. Watch our compilation to see what you missed.

Industry Roundup: Naomi Watts and Michelle Williams Both To Play Marilyn Monroe

Blonde Bombshells: Strangely, just a few weeks after two Jackie Kennedy projects were announced, there are now two Marilyn Monroe films in the works. Naomi Watts will be playing Monroe in an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates' novel Blonde, which will be directed by Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford). Meanwhile, the Weinstein Company is moving ahead with its own Monroe project, My Week With Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams. Week will focus on the time Monroe spent in England filming The Prince and the Showgirl opposite Laurence Olivier (a part that has not yet been cast). Not everyone wants to play the legend, though: Scarlett Johansson reportedly turned down the part Williams ending up taking. [Deadline]

Salmon Season: Lionsgate is partnering with BBC Films and Kudos Pictures to produce Salmon Fishing, which is based on the best-selling novel by Paul Torday. Directed by Lasse Hallstrom, the film will star Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott-Thomas. Hallstrom took over for Bill Condon, who was originally signed on to direct; apparently, Condon prefers wolves to fish. [Deadline]

Main Event: Sam Worthington will star in Quatermain, a sci-fi flick based on the series of books by H. Rider Haggard featuring the hero Allan Quatermain. The film will focus on his return to Earth (which is devoid of humans) from a “sojourn in space,” at which point he will embark on an “adventure on a planetwide scale.” Presumably it'll be a lot easier dealing with this interspecies stuff when he isn't confined to a wheelchair. [Heat Vision/HR]

McEdgy: Rob Minkoff will direct Patrick Dempsey in the indie action-comedy Flypaper. Written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover), the film is about a bank that is robbed by two different sets of thieves at the same time. However, both groups are attacked by a “secret enemy” (Dempsey) who is attempting to save the bank teller whom he loves. With this and his Transformers role, Dempsey clearly wants us to know he's made of more than McDreamy. [Variety]

Special K: Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) will star in Special Forces, in which she will play a French journalist kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan. The film, directed by Stephane Rybojad, will also feature Djimon Hounsou, Denis Menochet, Benoit Magimel and Raphael Personnaz. Sounds like real escapist fare, this. [Variety]

Totally Hits
: Jay-Z will be releasing a new greatest hits complication, The Hits Collection, Vol. 1, on June 29. It isn’t clear what songs will be included, but Pitchfork is guessing it “will be weighted toward recent material." Is a Betty White guest verse too much to hope for? [Pitchfork]

Zanuck's Assault: Lili Fini Zanuck (Rush) is directing an adaptation of John O’Brien’s 1996 novel Assault on Tony’s. The book centers on five white patrons who are barricaded in a bar named Tony’s for 17 days during a race riot. In the movie though, writer Erik Bergquist (The Fast and the Furious) has contemporized the story, reducing the 17 days to three, making the riots about the economy instead of race, and changing the five white guys to three white guys and two black guys. Oh, and the characters won't speak; they'll just tweet at each other. [HR]

Under The Sea: Pan Europeenne is developing a $37 million 3D biopic on the French oceanographer and filmmaker Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Laurent Turner (The Inner Circle) is adapting the script from Capitaine de la Calypso, a Cousteau biography. If you are already dozing off at the thought of yet another biopic, don’t fret: “It will be a true biopic but also an adventure film featuring many underwater scenes.” Whoa now! [Variety]

Credit Rating Agencies To Face Curbs

The Senate has approved by a 64-35 margin a provision establishing a credit-rating board, which will oversee the rating of complex bond deals and help to remove some of the conflicts of interest, creating some distance between bond issuers and rating agencies. Right now, the bond issuers can pick their rating agencies, a system that has been blamed for the inflated ratings that brought about the financial crisis. Meanwhile, subpoenas were issued today in New York attorney general Andrew Cuomo’s inquiry into whether banks and rating agencies misrepresented mortgage securities to increase their ratings. [WSJ]

White House Limiting Press Access to Kagan's Family

The White House is making life for difficult for Times reporters hoping to get some dirt on Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan from her family, as the paper claimed today that the Obama administration is “limiting, if not blocking, access” to her family. The Times said it received permission Tuesday to attend a constitutional law class at Hunter College High School (Kagan’s alma mater) taught by her brother, Irving. The school was fine with the idea, as was Kagan, but the White House vetoed the plan, according to the Times, claiming via a spokesman that the administration was “uncomfortable with the idea at this time.”

Additionally, after speaking with the paper in a profile that ran Monday, Kagan’s cousin Gail Katz-James refused to speak to Times Wednesday. “I’m sorry,” she said to a reporter, “I’m not able to talk to you.” When asked if the White House had instructed her to refuse interviews, she said "Nope" and promptly hung up the phone. Ironically, while the White House presumably is hoping to ensure no one says anything that might jeopardize Kagan’s confirmation, it really just makes it seem like there’s some totally weird family secret they desperately don’t want getting out.

‘Suspicious Vehicle’ Investigated Near Union Square (Updated)

The NYPD and the Fire Department are investigating a "suspicious vehicle" on East 14th Street and Irving Place tonight. They arrived at the scene at 10:15 p.m. and immediately evacuated nearby buildings, law-enforcement sources said, and "the bomb squad has responded and is investigating," according to a police spokesman. The Daily News says that "gas containers" were spotted in the back of the vehicle, though that has not been confirmed by police. [NYDN]

Update: The NYPD gave an "all clear" late Thursday night after completing an investigation of the car, a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. Police are still questioning the vehicle's owner, but the security alert for the area has been dropped.

Oil Spill Could Be Up to Five Times Larger Than Estimated

It seems that the initial projections of the size of the Gulf of Mexico oil leak may have been, um, just a tad off. While the government said the oil was gushing into the water at a rate of 5,000 barrels a day (a figure that has been cited in most reports), the Times reports that, according to scientists and environmental groups, the leak — which BP has not yet scientifically measured — could “easily be four or five times” the government estimate. Newsweek Writer to Visit Glee Set, Ryan Murphy Writes

Two days after he called for a boycott of Newsweek in light of an article he described as “blatantly homophobic,” Glee creator Ryan Murphy has written a second open letter, in which he reveals that he has since spoken to the article’s author, Ramin Setoodeh. Murphy writes that Setoodeh has taken him up on his offer to visit Glee’s set and “observe [their] creative process” in order to see how they “construct a TV show dedicated exclusively to the idea of inclusiveness and acceptance for all.” In addition to visiting the show’s writers’ room, Murphy writes that Setoodeh will be invited to watch how they cast the show as well, a process in which “actors … are encouraged to read for ALL roles, no matter what their sexual orientation, color, or gender.”

Murphy writes that while Newsweek did contact him to “say they are big fans of [Glee],” he does not believe the magazine has offered a “substantial articulate response” for the article, titled “Straight Jacket,” in which Setoodeh discussed gay actors playing straight, specifically calling out Promises, Promises' Sean Hayes and Glee's Jonathan Groff, both openly gay, for what he argued were unconvincing portrayals of straight characters.

Men Held After Raids May Have Provided Shahzad With Money

Those three guys taken in this morning during FBI raids in Massachusetts and Maine? It turns out that the three Pakistani men may have provided money to accused Times Square attempted bomb suspect Faizal Shahzad, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

Shahzad is believed to have traveled to Ronkonkoma, a Long Island town, in the days before the May 1 failed attack, where he picked up several thousand dollars in cash, according to sources. Holder said it isn't clear if these men knew that the money they were providing was going to be used for an act of terrorism. Right now, they’re being detained on civil immigration violations and have not been formally charged with a crime.

Kate Beckinsale Learns the Do’s and Don’ts of Being a Cannes Festival Juror

On the drizzly red carpet outside Cannes’ black-tie opening night party, red-suited attendants held umbrellas over celebrities’ heads as they made their way into the packed ballrooms of the Hotel Majestic. Inside, by a heaping dessert table, Benicio del Toro chatted in a corner with Gael Garcia Bernal, Tim Burton told us the Cannes experience had been “a strange trip” already, and a conspicuous scrum of tuxedo-ed bystanders pretended to not be staring at Kate Beckinsale, Croisette-glamorous in a short gold dress and a sweeping updo. We spoke with the Cannes competition jury member about her approach to judging, and she recalled her first time at Cannes, when she “wore steel-toe-capped Dr. Martens on the red carpet” and just hoped she “didn’t have stains” on her clothes.

Is there a certain type of film you’re hoping to promote here at Cannes?
What’s been very nice from the beginning is that Tim’s been very clear that none of us are going in with an agenda. We’re not looking for a political film, necessarily — or anything. We’re all looking forward to going in and seeing what it is. That’s what’s nice about the group — it’s only been two days, but so far nobody seems to have a really strong agenda. Everyone’s waiting to be surprised and moved.

What are you going to do? Take notes?
I arrived late because of the whole volcano thing, missed the inaugural dinner and all that. And I just thought, “Oh shit, everyone’s going to have done their homework but me. I was going to ask that: Are we supposed to take notes or is that going to piss people off when they look over and see me writing? I think I probably will. It’s a lot of films: two a day.

Did you feel you had to cram?
Well, yeah! I made sure I was familiar with the directors and their previous work. I didn’t want to go in as a complete neophyte.

Favorite memories from Cannes?
I’ve been here twice before. The first time I came was like the most shocking experience. I was eighteen and I’d just done Much Ado About Nothing and my agent didn’t tell me I could bring a friend or anything. So I was alone and I think I wore steel-toe-capped Dr. Martens on the red carpet! I had no idea. We didn’t have [the same support] in England. We didn’t have makeup and hair people. You just sort of showed up and hoped you didn’t have stains on you. And I remember going up the red carpet into the theater and thinking: God, it’s like being at a rock concert! So it’s nice to come back elderly, having been through the fire a bit.

You’re the old veteran now.

Well, so far no Vietnam flashbacks, thankfully.

And what do you have in the works now?
I'm doing a film with Karen Moncrieff, who did the Dead Girl and Blue Car. It's called The Trials of Cate McCullough, and I play a lawyer who has to take on a case for a girl who’s clearly guilty—and then she finds out that she isn’t guilty and, you know … one of those. But it’s really well written. And I’m talking about doing a film in Ireland this summer [called On Finaghy Road].

About working with a female director — there aren’t any in competition at Cannes…

Yes, but it looks like I’ll be working with two this year. It’s the Kathryn Bigelow year!

Do you feel like things are changing?
Someone asked at the press conference about why are there no female directors and I don’t know. I’ve only ever worked with one — but hopefully this year it will make three. I wish there were more. It’s important to have a female sensibility in the movies.

Blockbuster Auction Evidence of Art-Theater Synergy?

Red, the play.

Sotheby's contemporary art auction yesterday raked in almost $190 million, dominated by a 1986 Warhol self portrait ($32.6 million) and a 1961 untitled Rothko canvas, originally estimated between $18 and $25 million. The work — one of the five bright, red-only paintings that Rothko did in the space of a year and half during which he subtracted his usual plums, burgundies, and blacks — ended up luring in an undisclosed buyer willing to cough up $31.4 million for its rouge-y presence.

Apparently everyone who saw the work in Sotheby's galleries was in awe of it, but there could be another force at work: John Logan's critically acclaimed play Red, which tells the story of the pompous, legendary Abstract Expressionist and has been enjoying a successful run on Broadway since April 1.

Crafty planning? Coincidence? "People ask if I timed it," said Tobias Meyer, the head of Sotheby's contemporary art department who also oversaw the auction. "I wish I was that intelligent, but I'm not. I do think red is the color that Rothko is most known for, and I think the play was in the back of my mind, and the play is called Red, which underlines it — and enforces that we have a good painting on our hands."

Let's see if the Damien Hirst musical, Crap, can similarly underline the truth when his next auction rolls around.

'Contraband' Music Player Could Affect Lil Wayne's Prison Sentence

Earlier this week, Lil Wayne was caught with an unauthorized music player in his jail cell. Now, a source at Rikers Island tells MTV the infraction could end up in a loss of "good time." (As in "time off for good behavior," we assume). Another possible consequence for Wayne is loss of his suicide watch job. A trial will be conducted to determine the severity of the offense. Drag. Fashion Show to Occur on Wall Street Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Express is going public! If you work on Wall Street, this is important to know because, well, maybe you need to for work, but more importantly, they are celebrating by holding a fashion show on Wall Street at 12:30. Fashion shows (or fashion anything) don't happen on Wall Street very often. And this one has good models, too, like Alek Wek, Izabel Goulart, and Flavia de Oliveira. Some models will also ring the bell at 9:30. Nothing goes together better than good looks and money. Tomorrow will be one of those instances it's not a walk of shame, but a walk of fame.

Pay Expert Reveals Potential Loophole in CEO-Compensation Debate

Kraft CEO Irene Rosenfeld made $26.3 million this year. Pepsi's Indra Nooyi raked in $15.8 million. To be sure, these women do a good job running companies that produce items of actual intrinsic value, but after perusing the list of female CEOs who received a 19 percent raise in 2009 (while men took a 5 percent cut), one analyst suggests that there may be another factor involved.

Graef Crystal, a pay expert who analyzed the data for Bloomberg News, said that "compensation committees are saying we don't want to have any trouble" over underpaying women, "so if we err, let's err on the side of giving them too much."

Some might say that's a rather sexist thing to say, but as for us, we smell loophole! Vikram Pandit, get thyself into a wig and heels. You'll break that $1 ceiling yet!

I have to say, Bieber plays it quite well in that he doesn’t LOL all over the place. I mean, there’s some LOL-ing. But not excessive LOL-ing. Oh, this seems like the right time to try and introduce something: BRBieber. Like, I’ll just Be Right Bieber. It means nothing and everything. Sit on that.

Elena Kagan Already Talking Smack About Current Supreme Court Justices

Elena Kagan was nominated to the Supreme Court in part, President Obama tells us, because he hopes that she can use her intellectual and persuasive powers to become a "consensus-builder." But if Kagan is hoping to win friends on the court, Arlen Specter isn't helping her cause by blabbing about their closed-door conversations to the press today.

In Specter's meeting with Kagan, he said the nominee stood by earlier statements she'd made criticizing the confirmation process because nominees were not very forthcoming. "She stood by the word 'charade.' And she identified a specific justice who she thought was not appropriate in responses," he said.

Specter would not identify which justice Kagan called out, but said it was a current member of the court.

Reuters adds that Specter specified that it wasn't Chief Justice John Roberts. So who was it? Samuel Alito? Sonia Sotomayor? Someone older? Practically everyone is a suspect, since Supreme Court nominees have been trained to be "not very forthcoming" if they want to be confirmed. Regardless, Kagan had already put herself on the spot for previously criticizing the lack of substantive testimony in Supreme Court confirmation hearings. Now that she's still hammering away at it and even pointing fingers at sitting justices, she'd better be ready to sing.

Everyone Is Buying the Same $230 Pair of Skinny J Brand Cargo Pants

Pass Abercrombie a fork so they can stab their eyes out, because the hottest cargo pants on the market right now seem to be the Houlihan by J Brand. And it gets worse, Abercrombie: They're $230! When was the last time Abercrombie sold a pair that cost $80? The Houlihan cargos are so fantastic that Cathy Horyn devoted an entire article to them in the Times.

“In 33 years I’ve never shipped anything like this,” Jeff Rudes, the founder and chief executive of J Brand, said this week, noting that some customers have offered to prepay for the $230 style. Bloomingdale’s has sold thousands, according to Mr. Doroff, who wants more. Barneys New York has 1,000 pairs of Houlihans on reorder, with waiting lists at its stores. The Intermix chain said it has sold 2,000 pairs.

The pants apparently have magical fitting abilities. Horyn writes, "Although their skinny line appears unforgiving, they are very flattering." We're just excited that people are excited about pants again! Enjoy it while it lasts, because soon everyone will realize they're all wearing the same thing and take them off.

Give Up, Robot Is Like Crack, Only More So

Sometimes, I’ll come across one of those internet flash games that’s exceptionally awesome, like Super Mario Bros. Crossover, and post about it on BWE with a recommendation along the lines of “Check out this game! It is very addictive! I’m Dan Hopper blah blah bler stoopid!” (Aw yeah, just nailed that impression of myself. Now I’m gonna walk out behind myself for real and get one of those SNL “it’s really the person!” audience rounds of applause).

Today, I came across the game Give Up, Robot, at about 2:30 pm. I am telling you about it now because I just played the entire game for two hours non-stop, breaking only intermittently to respond “cool” to whatever was being GChatted at me.

So if you want to destroy — and I mean destroy — a couple hours of your workday/life, click the pic below and get hooked on Give Up, Robot. Get it? Oh, I didn’t mention there’s a grappling hook in the game. Go back and read that sentence. Hilarious, right? Aw, thanks.

Raj Rajaratnam and Rachel Uchitel Are Upset About Being Taken Out of Context

Rachel and Raj.

Two cautionary tales about the dangers of taking electronic communication at face value today: First of all, Galleon Group co-founder Raj Rajaratnam was so not talking about insider trading of Advanced Micro Devices during the following instant-message conversation with an RBC Capital Markets analyst:

“AMD on August 1st, now 13th,” Rajaratnam wrote in an Aug. 2, 2006, instant message sent to an RBC Capital Markets analyst. The analyst responded: “Hey, for the tickets have to choose package B?”

He was talking about cricket, he explained to prosecutors.

“We had to choose whether you wanted to follow India or Sri Lanka and we were having that discussion,” said Rajaratnam, a Sri Lanka native. "India's itinerary for the World Cup was package B."

Obviously.

Second, Rachel Uchitel was not encouraging David Boreanaz to leave his wife when she sent him the following text:

"Just (bleeping) go and be with her ... I need you here so we can be together."

True, her lawyer Gloria Allred says, she believed he was unhappy in his marriage and had reason to believe that he intended to separate from his wife, but the idea that it was something that she desired is outrageous. "I am deeply hurt and offended that anyone would think that I wanted to break up his family," Uchitel told Us. "Nothing could be further from the truth." God, it's so unfair when people take things out of context.

GMHC Co-Founder Larry Kramer Pivots Again on Charity’s Move Out of Chelsea

The charity's current building.

Gay activist and estranged Gay Men's Health Crisis co-founder Larry Kramer is once again railing against the possibility that the nearly 30-year-old AIDS charity might be moving to a building where some of its services may not be able to follow it. We reported back in April that the move — from the 24th Street Tisch Building, where the charity has lived since 1997, to the AP Building on 33rd Street and 10th Avenue — was potentially imminent because of an enormous rent hike and new facility-maintenance fees. But at the time, GMHC leaders had convinced a skeptical Kramer that the move was a good thing. "It is time to move on to a new home," Kramer he said in an e-mail to journalists at the time. "Stop complaining, you naysayers!" Now, though, he's changed his mind again, upon hearing that the hot lunches and medical services — beloved and much-needed traditions at the Tisch Building — won't be following the organization as it moves west to the new office building. "It's just too bad because of a board's stupidity and an executive director's incompetence they're going to lose all that," he told the Journal. ("We will have increased numbers of treatment rooms, of counseling rooms," GMHC director Marjorie Hill told the Journal. "I want the money to go to programs. I don't want to give this money to a landlord.") In an e-mail to members of the media, Kramer added: "Electing to go ahead into this truly idiotic move is one of the great mysteries of the present moment."

Greyson Michael Chance Sings, Chats with Gaga, Is Dreamy, on Ellen

Greyson Michael Chance’s star is either at the very beginning of skyrocketing into eternal fame, or reaching the end of his amazing viral sensation days. The 6th grader, who you, your Mom, her Mom, your Ghost Great Grandmom have all seen singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at his school’s talent show achieved viral video paydirt today when he appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show. Ellen had plenty of surprises in store.

But first, Greyson, equipped with the Bieber hair, a NYC head flip, and his Grandmother’s recipe for humble pie, made the post-menopausal ladies of Ellen’s audience swoon with delight as he recreated his original “Paparazzi” performance:

Pretty good, kid. Pretty damn good. Anyone who has seen Farinelli already knows what I think his parents should do to retain that beautiful voice, but alas, none of you have seen it.

Ellen had another surprise in store for young Greyson… a call from Lady Gaga herself. It’s pretty special, and Gaga gives him some practical advice, such as staying away from girls. Too late, as his schedule currently has him losing his virginity 438 times in the month of June.

Video ahead.

Why The Japanese PM Shouldn’t Worry About Fashion

Gawker recently reported that a poor fashion choice (amongst other things) by the Japanese PM, Yukio Hatoyama, is ruining his approval ratings. First thing’s first: This is a shirt I would totally wear because I’m a stupid person who wears shirts like this. Sue me.

HOWEVER, Japan, I would like to counter with this:

It’s a rice bra. Reports Metro UK:

Lingerie maker Triumph said it came up with the “rice bra” because of the growing popularity of farming among Japanese city dwellers.

The bra, made of recyclable plastic, can be tied together to create pots that also double as cups.

They are filled with soil, and rice seedlings, that are watered through a hose that also doubles as a belt that goes around the wearer’s waist.

Gardening gloves also come with the bra.

Gardening gloves not sold separately! So is there a growing popularity of farming amongst Japanese city dwellers or a growing popularity of farming based bras amongst Japanese city dwellers? Because if this rice bra takes off, I can think of so many other things one could plant in those bras! You know, veggies, fruits, other seed based foods. Point being, Japan, you can get over a shirt on your PM that I would wear. I would never be your PM, nor would you want me to be, but do you see what I mean? When he’s wearing the rice bra, then get back to me. TTYL, Japan!

Sessilee Lopez’s French Vogue Documentary Helped Her Land a Numéro Cover

Last night at the launch of Jonathan Adler's collection for 7 for All Mankind, Sessilee Lopez told us she just shot a documentary for French Vogue. "It’s like a lifestyle type of thing during Fashion Week in Paris," she explained. "It opened up doors for me and I got a Numéro cover, which is really hard to get as a woman of color. I’m the third woman of color to grace the cover of Numéro, so I pat myself on the back." She had a tough time saying whether she was getting more runway work as well. "Well, that varies; whether you’re on the cover of Vogue today or yesterday, if designers want you, then they’ll cast you," she said. "But if you don’t fit the collection, no matter if you’re a supermodel or a new face, you won’t walk. It’s just politics."

And In Further Proof That Taylor Momsen’s Parents Should Be In Jail

“Remember Taylor Momsen?”

“Of course!” (Google imaging….)

Right? WRONG. Behold, Taylor Momsen, born in 1993:

Yup, Gossip Girl star and 16 YEAR OLD Taylor Momsen, seen above making a cameo appearance on an upcoming Intervention with her band “The Pretty Reckless,” carries a knife. Sorry, not a knife. A switchblade. Whatever BITCH I got a Schick Quattro in my purse at ALL TIMES in case I missed any stray ankle hairs so whatevuhhh, I am not impressed.

So why does Taylor carry around a knife? Other than to land the lead in that upcoming T-Birds biopic?

She told U.K. newspaper The Metro: “I have a knife collection. My favorite’s my switchblade.

“I flew from New York to Los Angeles and still had a couple of knives in my purse. I thought I took them all out but they got tucked up in the folds. (Ed. Note: Grozzzz.)

“I went through security, took them on the plane, opened my bag to get my wallet in LA and they fell out. I was like: “Holy s***!”

Can the TSA please start racially profiling underaged, strung-out, spoiled blond idiots with WASP names who once starred as a rat face in a Dr. Seuss movie? Seriously, God knows what else she has “tucked up in them folds,” but I’d prefer not to be flying with it.

Also, Taylor, when you’re 30, you’ll either be mortified by things like this, or be too busy sharpening your machete on your human skull collection to be reflecting on your childhood.

ANTM Recap: André Leon Talley Gets Emotional

Last night on America's Next Top Model the girls did ugly-pretty photo shoots, personifying queens since they were in Queensland, New Zealand. André Leon Talley wore his most royal white cape of the season, and became emotional when he realized how far his astute coaching has taken the girls on their journeys through Tyra Banks's reality-TV universe. "I'm very emotional," he tells one contestant. "This is the kind of photo that if you went on a go-see for John Galliano, you would be booked. And you wouldn't be booked just for one look, you would be booked for three exits." André is in love! See more highlights of his genius in our ALT montage from last night's episode.

Zac Posen’s Lower-Priced Z Spoke Line Flooding the Sale Section at Saks

Get this dress on sale for $297 online.

Zac Posen launched his lower-priced, hipster-flavored Z Spoke line at Saks for spring. Daily Front Row went spring sale hunting yesterday and found that "Z Spoke dominated the sales section, with 40%-off racks sprinkled throughout the entire [fourth] floor." They also found some good deals on a good number of Missoni sundresses. The Balmain is pretty much gone. [Daily Front Row]

Watch Eclipse Clip: Evil Vampires Have Bieber Hair. Obvs.

Every time a Twilight film comes out, my friends Pat and Adrienne and I go to Queens on opening night to watch it with the kidz. The first time it was hilarious. Team Jacob and Team Edward shirts, boys who don’t know they’re gay yet with their girl best friends who don’t know the boys are gay either. It’ll all blow up soon enough, but for that one night, all lust was directed towards Edward and Jacob, and it was awesome. When New Moon came out we were excited to do the same thing. However, this time all novelty had worn off and we were in a hot, sweaty theater watching a terrible movie with teenagers on a Friday night. The worst. And we’ll do it again for Eclipse. Because we’ve convinced ourselves that we have to. You know, that code that we live by. We’re idiots. Anyway, at least I know there will be some lolz, as evidenced by this clip:

I’ve watched the part where the vampire says, “Maybe we should consult with Aro” about three four times, and I’m still laughing. The way he says it? And his face before he says it? So funny. Guys, this will be great. Bieber hair! Dakota Fanning! Dakota Fanning in a hooded cape!

Ke$ha Has Mastered The Art of Baby Slut Talk

My BFF and I have long tried to master the art of baby slut talk, but it isn’t easy. Our theory: The more of a baby slut you sound like, the more desirable you are to the male species. In fact, we’ve boiled BST (baby slut talk) down to three words that, when said in a variety of ways, could technically get you through an entire date. I will now share with you these three very important words:

“Whaaaat? Meeee? Thenkx.”

Yes, our “What? Me? Thanks.” theory has gotten us really far. (Not far.) But you know who it has gotten far? Ke$ha. Who has “What? Me? Thenx”‘d her way to the top of the pop charts. And no song demonstrates her genius freestyle baby slut rap better than “Your Love Is My Drug,” the anthem for infant baby whores worldwide.

Our verdict? What? Me? We love it. Thanks. (Ed. Note: It’s obviously a “Barbie Girl” kind of love, i.e. fleeting and “now.” If this were to come on the radio in 2025, we would order our robot maids to slice our ears off.)

Cherry Jones dishes on '24'

In anticipation of the "24" finale, EW talked exclusively to the Emmy-winning Cherry Jones about President Allison Taylor's trippy story arc this year (like how she's overlooking the Russians' involvement in the assassination of Omar Hassan and focusing on a doomed peace agreement instead). But spoiler alert, fans! Though the longtime stage actress doesn't give away too much about the ending, she does tease a thing or two about where her character is headed.
