Ever since Salman Khan joined twitter, a completely different side of the star has come out in the open. Known for his hot temper all this while, Sallu's fans are now experiencing his unique sense of humour through his constant posts on twitter, especially the image posting with quirky one-liners, from sets of the film
Dabangg.
Brother Arbaaz Khan too is part of the action (also, credit goes to the man for bringing Salman on twitter), who posted images of Sallu posing on sets with action director Viyayan.
If that was not enough, Arbaaz has put on display his cameraman Mahesh Limaye and even his film director Abhinav Kashyap, "That's my cameraman Mahesh limaye. He also did the movie FASHION with me", and "My cool, calm and composed film director Abhinav Kashyap :)" he tweets.
The Khan brothers are surely doing their best to keep their fans posted on all the action happening on Dabangg sets.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 14 May 2010 | 7:51 am Special screening of 3 Idiots for UN

The International Film Festival has been gathering steam this year with most A list celebrities flocking to the mega event. Our Bollywood folks too are not far behind and making their presence felt at the festival. However, the biggest opportunity for Indian films is the integration of the Indian pavilion at Cannes Festival.
While Secretary of film and information Raghu Menon with the association of Achocam welcomed the media and foreign dignitaries, Indian delegates and the Indian ambassador in France, Ranjan Mathai, and French Director at Cannes to attend the 63rd International Film Festival at Cannes and promised to bring drastic changes in government approach to promote Indian films and filmmakers effectively to the various important film festivals.

Majid Majidi's Children Of Heaven comes down to earth in an endearing spiral of the spellbinding and the sensitive.
Let's not get unnecessarily and unjustly nostalgic about the original Iranian film. This remake, done up in shades of terrorism in the idyllic North-east (region unspecified) is so lyrically lush in its visuals and so gently evocative in treatment that the original material is forgotten ten minutes into the narrative.
A great deal of the credit for the film's immense intense but toned-down impact must go to the children , Darsheel Safary no longer the pouty buck-teethed moppet from Taare Zameen Par, and little Ziyah Vastani who's quite easily the most delightful new discovery of the year. Ziyah in fact steals many scenes from under her brilliant co-star's nose. If he minds it, he doesn't show it.
Darsheel and little Ziyah create an intangible and secret world of hushed wonderment and discovery that takes the narrative far beyond the precincts of the original fable about an impoverished pair of sibling's desperate but disarming attempt to share a pair of shoes.
Yup, Bumm Bumm Bole is quite a 'shoe' stopper. The fable is expanded to accommodate a world filled with pain pleasure and other emotions that emerge in the journey from innocence to awareness. Unlike Vishal Bhardwaj's The Blue Umbrella or Majid Majidi's Children Of Heaven, Bumm Bumm....doesn't try to be wise at the children's expense. Frequently you feel Priyadarshan allowed the children to instinctively empathize with if not fully understand the political complications underlining the social issues of poverty and socio-communal solidarity in times of stress and longing.
Unlike other recent parables on children, innocence and violence set in idyllic sports like Santosh Sivan's Tahaan and Piyush Jha's Sikandar, Bumm Bumm Bole doesn't forget to be an entertaining story. Priyadrashan, fresh from the triumph of his other socially relevant drama Kanchivaram imbues the pale but passionate dusky light of the mountainous locales with oodles of warmth and emotion.
The kids don't take over the show. They just slip into the proceedings like two scoops of ice-cream into a ready steady cone. Darsheel shows a definite and reassuring progress as an actor since his debut. His rapport with his screen -sister jumps out of the screen and pervades our senses unconditionally. You just want to steal little Ziyah from the screen and take her home.
The two kids are amazingly good. The ever-dependable Atul Kulkarni puts in a supremely credible turn as the harried father who doesn't forget to smile when the kids are around.
Like other fabulous or farcical creations by Priyadarshan , this one too is shot on picture-postcard locations with the cinematographer (Selvi) and the art director (Sabu Cyril) adding that extra bit of lyricism to every frame without showing off.
Bumm Bumm Bole is a gentle but persuasive piece of work, not just for children though certainly about children who learn fast about the harsh realities of life.
The film follows their trail without getting bitter cynical or hysterical. The constantly even tone is a boon. The kids are a blessing. This film is a soft-spoken and delicate piece of cinema .Not to be missed.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 14 May 2010 | 6:24 am Aamir Khan takes keen interest in Darsheel's release
Post the release and all the hype and recognition surrounding Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan got busy with various other projects, so much so that the Taare... star Darsheel Safary had sadly confessed that 'Aamir Uncle' is no longer in touch with him.
But now with Darsheel's second feature film on release, Aamir has been taking a keen interest in the way things are going, presumably because he doesn't want Darsheel or his parents (unfamiliar with the ways of Bollywood) to make any wrong career moves for Darsheel.
In fact Aamir has been regularly inquiring about Darsheel's second film Bumm Bumm Bole and has shown a keen interest in watching it.
Says Darsheel excitedly, "My parents have invited Aamir Uncle to see the film. I really want him to see it, so he can be proud of me."
Lately the two heroes of Taare Zameen Par have been bonding again
Says Darsheel, "Aamir Uncle came to my school for the release of the Taare Zameen Par DVD. He also came home for dinner."
Darsheel is nervous about Aamir's reaction. "In Taare Zameen Par, I was much smaller and very naughty. Aamir Uncle removed (sic.) every bit of the acting out of me. I didn't have to do anything. Now I'm 13. I'm taller, less naughty. In Taare... I played a kid who was not at all like me. The boy in Bumm Bumm Bole is quite similar to me. So I don't know how Aamir will react."
Darsheel admits that his co-star Ziah was a handful. "She was sometimes irritating. She was super-stubborn. Bahut ziddi hai woh. If she wanted a pencil she wouldn't give a shot until she got it. I just ignored her tantrums."
Darsheel referred to the relationship with his own sister to play the protective brother in Bumm Bumm Bole.
Says Darsheel, "I've a sister of my own in real life. So playing the protective brother who can go to any extent to make his sister smile came naturally to me. Doing the film I realized how much I love my sister. I'd do anything for my sister."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 14 May 2010 | 6:14 am Katrina Kaif perfects accent in 20 daysForget her firang twang, Katrina Kaif will now speak chaste Hindi in Raajneeti. Jahan Bloch is not new to arc lights. Exactly a decade back, she played the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Pradha in Kohraam [1999]. Now she has grown up to be a young woman and is ready with her debut film as a leading actress Krantiveer - The Revolution. Incidentally, both Kohraam and Krantiveer - The Revolution have been directed by Mehul Kumar, Jahan's father.
A veteran of close to 20 odd films, Mehul Kumar has made some notable 'masala' potboilers like Tirangaa, Paap Ki Aandhi, Marte Dam Tak apart from Kohram and of course Krantiveer. He was also responsible for the much hyped comeback of Amitabh Bachchan when he directed him in Mrityudaata (1997).
"Even in my earlier years when I got an opportunity to play Amitabh Bachchan's daughter, I was very comfortable in front of the camera. Same is the case today as well when I am the playing a full fledged character", says an ever-so-perky Jahan who is the latest to join the list of celebrity kids turning actors.
For Jahan, it was a childhood dream to be seen as a mainstream heroine one day. "Call it the genes and being a part of filmy family but ever since I can remember, I always wanted to be an actress. I must have been three years old when I spoke to dad about me becoming an actress when I grow up."
She is more than willing to admit that she didn't feel the need to join any acting classes for her big break as a leading lady in Krantiveer - The Revolution.
"Frankly, I didn't see any need for that. I come from a family that has made movies for decades, so why not learn straight from them? My on the job training started at home itself as I used to visit my dad's movie sets on a regular basis. I just wanted to study the overall atmosphere of filmmaking", she says.
A sequel to Krantiveer, Jahan's debut film features her as the daughter of fiery Nana Patekar. She plays a journalist who is set to lead the revolution against terrorism, violence and corruption. Isn't that too heavy a subject for a newcomer like her?
"My thinking is that 99% of the actresses debut with a romantic film with songs, dances and stuff alike. I asked myself if I too wanted to follow a conventional approach and the answer was 'no'", confesses Jahan.
Further explaining the reason behind choosing to follow a different route, Jahan says, "I wanted to do something far more challenging because it makes you work harder. Also, though the risks are of course bigger, the benefits are much higher. I don't want to be monotonous and instead demonstrate my calibre by playing a role that other actresses out there would possibly get after working in five or six films".
Krantiveer - the Revolution features Samir Aftab opposite Jahan. The film, which has music by Sachin & Jigar and is aiming for June release, also stars Kelly Dorji, Ranjit, Farida Jalal, Govind Namdeo, Mukesh Rishi and Aman Verma in principal roles.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 14 May 2010 | 4:54 am Naomi Watts to play Marilyn Monroe in biopic

If we start off saying that the legendary Anupam Kher is on a roll will truly be an understatement, for he is one man who has 'been there and done that'. There's hardly anything that this man is not a part of, be it films, commercials, serials, theatre, charity, teaching acting etc... The recent achievement is in the form of him being invited as a guest on Peschardt's People, a TV documentary which profiles fascinating people all over the world. This show on BBC is being presented by the famous host Michael Peschardt.
'Peschardt's People', for starters gets broadcasted to more than two hundred countries and has today become a centerpiece of the BBC World News Television schedule. A list of guests who have already been featured on the show include the likes of Robert De Niro, Sir Edmund Hillary, the Royal Family of Bahrain, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.
Speaking about this 'invitation', a visibly excited Anupam Kher exclusively told Bollywood Hungama, "It's a great honour to be on the show. I don't represent myself as in individual, but the whole of Hindi film industry. What has got me so very excited is the fact that the interview will be done in the house where William Wordsworth wrote his world famous poem 'Daffodils'. Besides all of this, I am also looking forward to the release of my upcoming film, a super comic sleuth called Bhatti On Chutti, as we shot the film there."

Guess this is how the game of Chinese Whispers is played. The only difference is that this time around, despite the fact that there was no whisper whatsoever, a rumour turned into a full fledged noise. So much so that no one touched by it is overtly pleased with the turn of events.
Earlier this week it was 'reported' that Akshay Kumar was fined in Canada by a cop because his car had hit latter's during the shooting of Thank You. Though this was all a part of the scene, the cop didn't realise that and assuming that Akshay had broken law, he issued him a ticket.
"What nonsense, there was no such instance whatsoever, let aside a ticket being issued", says a senior member from the film's production unit, "Kahin se bhi kuch bhi khabar aa jaati hai jab overseas shooting ho rahi hoti hai. It is the work of some idle brain that has just been fed to media. There was no mishap or any fine at all. In fact we out here in Canada got to know about such 'incident' only after Anees Bazmee (the director) and other started getting calls from Mumbai."
Though it is being stated that the cast and crew of Thank You was left amused with this incident, in real life no one is sounding half as amused today with this frivolous piece of information.
"How can one be", questions the unit member, "Kuch toh sach hona chahiye? If you do put one and one together, you can still come up with eleven. But here there was nothing at all. No such scene was even being shot, let aside Akshay's car hitting someone else's. Aur yeh cop kahan se aaya?"
However, not just the cop's presence was confirmed, it was also reported that he had his picture clicked with Akshay after realising his true identity as a Bollywood superstar.
Laughs our source, "This is not India where some law and order officer in uniform can possibly get a picture clicked with a celebrity during office hours and get scot-free. In Canada, you can't expect that to happen. If at all such a picture would have been clicked, this cop would have been pronto taken to task by his senior. No one dares to get this adventurous."
Well, that should pretty bring all speculations to rest.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 14 May 2010 | 4:00 am Exploring Resul's journey to Oscar fame - Rediff

The charity cricket match between Indian celebrities and Sri Lankan cricketers is scheduled to take place on the 2nd day of the IIFA Weekend.
As a symbol of solidarity with the Sri Lankan people, IIFA in partnership with Habitat for Humanity will adopt and rebuild a village in for refugees, with the proceeds of the cricket match being donated to this cause. Habitat for Humanity is an organization initiated by US President Jimmy Carter that is already doing considerable work in the region.

As a member of the film industry, I look forward to another luminous decade, as IIFA journeys forth, sharing the Indian cinematic movement, one country at a time."
Speaking on his association with the IIFA Charity Initiative, Salman Khan said, "I support IIFA's initiative that aims to give back to the Sri Lankan people, due to the recent hardships they have faced. I am happy to be an 'Ambassador of Change' and believe that it is crucial to make a difference and contribute to this worthy cause. Mr. Tony Senewiratne, National Director - Sri Lanka, Habitat for Humanity said, "The invitation from IIFA to Habitat for Humanity - Sri Lanka is an exciting opportunity. This union will join our efforts to bring a significant change to the lives of many families. One of the most eagerly awaited films of the year is Prakash Jha's Raajneeti. A
film that boosts of the biggest names in Bollywood like Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Nana Patekar
and Naseeruddin Shah... to name a few.
Ever since the film's promos have hit the screen, Raajneeti has been the point of discussion for one and all, courtesy
the political subject of the film.
Prakash Jha, on his part, has always been maintaining that the film has got no connection with anyone, living or dead.
Despite this, a certain Naseem Khan, a Mumbai based social worker, has moved to court seeking a ban on the film. The reason
cited is that Katrina Kaif's role is based on Sonia Gandhi's personal life.
Repeated attempts to establish contacts with Prakash Jha prove futile.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 May 2010 | 8:24 am Saif Ali Khan signed up as brand ambassador for Amul innerwear
He is someone who spells Royal with a capital R. No prizes for guessing who we are referring to. He's none other than Saif Ali Khan. Having the illustrious Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi for a father and the eternally gorgeous Sharmila Tagore for a mother, this man has been on a roll from the word go.
Besides films, Saif Ali Khan is a hot property in the ad world too. After having endorsed almost all the possible products under the sun, right from paints, tea, shampoos, chips, cell phones etc..., Bollywood Hungama's sources claim that he is now all set to take on Amul innerwear.
Looks like the Pataudi junior is making hay while the sun shines! As they say in Bollywood, Saif is always a safe bet, when it comes to brand endorsements!Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 May 2010 | 8:11 am John Abraham to shoot on Westminster Bridge in London for Abbas' next
This week, John Abraham will be the first film actor from any part in the world to shoot on the mythic Westminster Bridge in the heart of London.
How to keep the Bollywood fans at bay? That's the question which hounds the director Abbas Tyrewala as the unit gathers in London in nail-biting suspense.
On one of the given dates, the Westminster Bridge, forever buzzing with activity, will be cordoned off for a historic romantic shot, in the most virgin film locale available to a crew. Between May 11 and 13 - the exact date and time not being revealed to avoid an avalanche of Bollywood fans creating a stampede - John Abraham will get ultra-romantic with his co-star Pakhi at one of London's most scenic and tourist-friendly locations, the Westminster Bridge which stands over the legendary River Thames.
Though some British and Hollywood films have been shot on the bank of the River Thames, no Indian or international unit has ever been granted permission to shoot on the Westminster Bridge covering the River Thames.
Informs John, "The idea is to shoot in places in London that are unexposed. Apart from the Westminster Bridge, we'll also shoot at the Marble Arch and Jubilee Park. We want the London visible in our film to look different. Otherwise, we've been to London so many times for Bollywood films our audiences know almost every inch of the city by heart."
Incidentally, when Londoners flock to greet John, he turns around to introduce his unrecognizable co-star Pakhi as, "The star of tomorrow. Take her autograph, not mine," he urges fans.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 May 2010 | 6:56 am Demi Moore starrer The Joneses to be remade in Hindi
While The Joneses has just been released in the US this week, its desi version is already being planned. It will be produced by Sheetal Talwar and Madhu Mantena's company Vistaar-Religare who also had financial stakes in the Demi Moore starrer.
For production in the next few months by director Bhavna Talwar who has made the highly-acclaimed Dharm with Pankaj Kapoor in the lead.
The Joneses, the big new summer blockbuster rom-com starring Demi Moore and David Duchovny which opened on April 16 across America will be remade in Hindi at an estimated budget of Rs. 60 crores, though not in the same style as the original material.
Bhavna Talwar intends to completely turn around the American film. "I want to remove The Joneses from the rom-com space and make it a mirror of suburban life in India.
This is the first time that a Hollywood release is being remade in Bollywood so soon after its original release. Bhavna says she fell in love with the material the minute she read the script.
Her husband producer Sheetal Vinod Talwar who is one of the producers of The Joneses, suggested that she remake the film in Hindi.
Says Bhavna, "At first I baulked at the very idea of doing a remake, and that too of a Hollywood rom-com. Both my films so far Dharm and the about-to-release Happi are original works. I reluctantly read the script for The Joneses. I loved the material, not the way it is, but in the way it can be modified restructured and adapted into our own style and environment."
Though she's in touch with Demi Moore about the adaptation Bhavna has no intentions of watching The Joneses. "Not now, maybe never. I don't want my vision of the script to be influenced by what they've done."
While the focus in The Joneses is on the couple played by Moore and Duchovny who move into the American suburbs Bhavna Talwar's instant adaptation would shift the focus from the couple to their son.
Bhavna wants Ranbir Kapoor to play the son.
Laughs Bhavna, "I'm not talking about the cast as yet. But yes I find the idea of looking at the suburban jungle through the son's eyes very interesting. That's how my version of The Joneses will be structured."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 May 2010 | 5:03 am Neil Nitin Mukesh chosen as brand ambassador for Addiction perfumes
