Bobby Deol and Mugdha Godse scream Help

Help When you are in urgent need of assistance, the first word that you use is 'Help'... which also happens to be the name of the upcoming film that stars the never-before tried pair of Bobby Deol and Mugdha Godse. According to the confirmed sources, Help is a supernatural horror film that draws upon the story of a malevolent spirit that refuses to leave the human world. The source also added that Bobby Deol plays the role of a successful horror film director in Bollywood who is married to Mugdha Godse. The couple are having marital problems and in the midst of their troubled marriage, they have to rush Mauritius to visit Mugdha's ailing father. Little do they know that there's something ancient and dark that remains still, hidden and silent in the old house where Mugdha grew up. Talking about the film, Bobby says, "The film has been beautifully shot and I must say it's one the finest horror films that the audience will see. It's chilling, gruesome and the kind of horror which gives you goose bumps. Help will take the horror genre in India to another level. My character in the film is extremely well defined and I am sure people will like the new Bobby in the film." Mugdha, on the other hand says, "I have done glamorous roles as well as de-glam roles in the past but with Help, you will see me in a role which is much more acting oriented. It is the role of a lifetime and I had to prepare really hard to inhabit the skin of the character I was to play." All in all, Help seems to be a film to watch out for!

Check out: Sonam Kapoor shooting for Thank You in Canada

Sonam Kapoor We saw her as the girl who is bitten by the love bug in Saawariya, then we saw her as the bubby girl who wants to break the shackles of the society in Delhi 6, and now Sonam Kapoor is charging into the unexplored territory with Anees Bazmee's Thank You, a comedy flick to the core. In this film, Sonam will be seen as a tennis player. A-la Sania Mirza is it? The star cast ranges from Akshay Kumar to Bobby Deol to Suniel Shetty and even Miss Celina Jaitly would be part of the film. The super excited Sonam has been posting pictures from the sets of Thank You to keep her twitter followers in the loop...and shall we say Sonam is completely glowing. Sonam started the shoot for the film yesterday in Canada and made sure her fans know that she is off to do a fun film as she tweeted saying " Taking off guys...gonna start my super fun, super commercial movie Thankyou...directed by Anees Bazmee...yaba daba doooo." This one would sure be fun as we will get to see Sonam doing something closer, lighter than her earlier roles. Sonam Kapoor Here's the picture of her in Canada with her friends/crew members or as Sonam puts it in her tweets "First Day on Thankyou set with my girls ...who make me look faaaaab". For the first time Sonam would get to let her hair down and put the funny cap on. Now in Vancouver for the shoot, we wish the Kapoor girl the very best of luck and also a big Thank You from her fans who would get to see their favourite star in something different.

"Housefull isn't just random buffoonery" - Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal You dial his mobile and you hear, 'Apni Toh Jaise Taise'. Then you start to think that Arjun Rampal is in a splendid mood. He'll give you time, enough for you to finish the side A of your recorder. Suddenly the caller tune stops and you hear the voice. The same voice which ladies go ga-ga- about. Then you notice that Mr Rampal is what he always is - relaxed and composed...like a lion sitting in his den awaiting his prey. That's Arjun. I like to call him the warrior. This untamed actor has everything in control, for the moment - his films and his female fans, and despite all the plaudits, a fire still burns inside Arjun Rampal as he fights it out in the career of eternal battle for perfection. And that says it all in his revised resume - he is a National Award winner now. Yipee! You call him for an interview and he speaks of the role with extraordinary passion, a highly accomplished actor who thinks deeply about his craft and is happy to talk of it. The way he warms to the subject makes it clear his aim in every film is to try to 'be' the character. So, we let him 'be' who he is...the actor...the character. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent talks to the lion without visiting his den because you just don't want to fall prey to his intelligence, attitude and good looks. Envy has a new name - Arjun Rampal. Is this the right song to play on your phone as the film is having Housefull boards all across the globe? (Laughs) It certainly is. Yes, I am very happy with the response what Housefull is getting. It's bringing back the 'Houseful' boards out again after a long, long time. I also think that this is the song which everyone should have on their caller tunes. It's bringing back the 'Houseful' boards out again after a long, long time And you've finally shaken a leg in the song too. Yes, the song is written really well and doesn't look forced from any angle. I think Farah Khan has done a great job in choreography for this song with the music directors Shankar Ehsaan Loy. It's not a remixed track but a re-version of a classic. I hope Amitabh Bachchan will be fine with it (laughs). Arjun Rampal And what about Arjun Rampal's humour? (A long pause) I think you'll have to sit down with me after two drinks and find out (laughs). ...and a mad man like Sajid Khan who comes across as a serious person? I've known him for quite a while now and initially the perception you get of Sajid from the outside is that he is a crazy guy which is not wrong. It's absolutely right. But there is also an intelligent side to Sajid. He is a complete film buff and when he is directing the film, he directs it as if he is an audience. It depends on how he is going to react, what he is going to do, etc. He has a great imagination and there is lots of madness in him too. But there is a lot of sense in that madness. I've never seen anybody like Sajid. He can even predict the T-20 matches. That's how mad he is and he is right eight out of ten times. A complete conviction, that's Sajid Khan. What's the feedback you received from your kids? I was so pleased that they liked Housefull. After Rock On, this is the film I've taken them to see. They enjoyed a lot and laughed a lot. But I guess they'll have to wait for a bit now because the next two to three films I'm doing are going to be a bit serious and may not be fit for them (laughs). Sajid is one director who sticks to the safe route, isn't it? Then you see directors like Dibakar, Farhan, Anurag Kashyap, Shimit, etc who tread different paths. Whoever the filmmakers and whichever the film, I feel at the end of the day, any film has to be entertaining. And entertainment doesn't only mean 'laughter'. Forest Gump, Rain Man, Avatar, etc are films with strong messages but they all are entertaining. Dev D was entertaining, Rock On was too and so is Housefull. Each films aesthetics and style can be different but at the end of the day, all filmmakers work towards making an entertaining film. Sajid has done the same. Arjun Rampal Three gorgeous ladies in the film and their confession - Arjun Rampal is hot. (Laughs) They're hot too (laughs). I got to know more of Lara while filming Housefull. I've done a film with her called Elaan. With Deepika, it was a re-union after Om Shanti Om. She is fantastic. She has blossomed. Jiah is a surprise package in the film. Some of her scenes with Akshay in the film are fantastic. I think Sajid has justified each character very well. So, laughter is the best medicine? I don't believe in it. But if it s medicine that makes you laugh, I don't mind having it (laughs). Stupid laughter doesn't make sense. I don't really like slapstick comedy even though there are situations in Housefull where there are scenes with such humour. But overall, it's a complicated plot. Housefull isn't a film where you leave your brains at home and come. Housefull isn't just a random buffoonery. Akshay Kumar is? Very handsome Riteish Deshmukh is? A darling Jiah Khan is? Sexy Deepika Padukone is? Gorgeous Lara Dutta is? One of the boys. Sajid Khan is? A good loyal friend. And Arjun Rampal is? A warrior, a fighter (laughs).

"At least now people know that Akshay doesn't cut co-star's roles" - Riteish

Housefull Housefull has released and other than a dozen odd things for which the film has been noticed, loved and seeing repeat audience, it is the crackling chemistry between real and reel life friendship of Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh which is for all to see. The 'jodi' has been unanimously acknowledged and loved by one and all and it is remarkable to see even the junior actor turning out to be a scene stealer in many a scene which has Akshay keeping himself on the back foot. As Riteish Deshmukh talks fondly about Akshay and rest with Joginder Tuteja, he also dispels the myth surrounding the superstar pertaining to him uses his editing scissors to perfection by cutting off the roles of his co-stars. Despite Housefull featuring Akshay Kumar as the central protagonist, you have to your credit some of the best scenes in the film. No role cutting by Akshay here? Time and again I am faced with this question that 'Akshay role kaat-ta hai'. I don't know where does this all come from. At least I have never witnessed any such thing. On the contrary we all sat together for the betterment of the film. During the course of the film, there were instances when he himself asked for a scene of his to be cut off. Well, audiences had their hands full with both you and Akshay on frame. Tell me Riteish, when it comes to comic timing, both you and Akshay have been known for doing quite well over the years. Did it lead to some kind of healthy competition between the two of you? Not at all. As I said, it was a healthy collective effort. There are so many lines that Akshay gave to me in the film. Even for the much talked about climax sequence, he gave me one of the best punch lines. I also came up with my own suggestions. See, I really consider him as a good friend of mine. I have spent a year with him, Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala. We all often meet for a cup of coffee and dinner. We watch cricket and discuss a lot of things other than movies as well. I really cherish the kind of relationship that the four of us share. There are so many lines that Akshay gave to me in the film It seems you share a great relationship with Lara Dutta too. First Do Knot Disturb and now Housefull, it has been quite some association between the two of you. I enjoy working with Lara. I feel she is one of the funniest girls whom we have in the industry today. It's really great to have her around and work with her. Also, since I am good friends with her, it makes it all the more easier. In her professional life though, it doesn't seem to be an easy situation for her. Though she has been around for so long and doing consistently well, don't you too feel that she is someone who has not yet got her due? I think she is doing great for herself. I can't and should not comment on whether she has got her due or not. She has been choosing her roles carefully and doing well every time. She is talented and I am sure she is made for better things in months to come. Housefull For you too, it must have been a huge relief. After Aladin, Rann and Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, you now have a huge money spinner in your hands in the form of Housefull. Relieved? Of course yes. In fact I was wondering if audience and critics would be kind to me because indulging into the kind of humour that Housefull carries is always a risky business. You never know when and how you will end getting bashed. But thankfully everyone has been unanimously nice to me and the jokes that I have cracked in the film. Glad to see it all working out after all. The kind of humour that Housefull carries is always a risky business You also bettered yourself physically for your film and developed those six pack abs. How come you never spoke much about then when other lesser actors continue to tom-tom about their physical appearance at the drop of the hat? I developed these six packs primarily for the film and mainly for just one song - 'Oh Girl, You Are Mine'. But that doesn't mean that at any public function, social gathering or in private parties, I start removing my shirt and try to project those abs. One should promote a film as a whole, not yourself for your physicality. Sajid and Co. didn't leave any stones unturned for the film's promotion though and as things stand today, the film is all set to be in the biggest league of box office openers. I know. The film was meant to be an out and out entertainer and I am glad it has turned out to be mix of massy and a classy mix. It is catering to multiplexes, single screens, masses and classes across all age groups. Sajid (Khan) was always so confident about this that even at the beginning of the shoot, he gave me a letter that stated 'Welcome to the biggest hit of your career'. Last time when he did that for Heyy Babyy I doubted that. The film went on to cross 50 crores just in India. This time he aimed for bigger and as we all can see, such collections would be very comfortably surpassed in the matter of days.

Karan Johar in New York for non-diaspora release of MNIK

Karan Johar Karan Johar is currently in New York for the release of the English version of My Name Is Khan in two theatres of New York on May 5. "It is meant for the non-NRI audience. Its crisper sharper cut and we hope to create a new market for Bollywood films," says Karan. Karan Johar who left for New York for three weeks on Tuesday night has discovered a new side to his personality that he never knew existed. Hosting the show Lift Kara De which ended last week, he discovered how little people from privileged classes gave to the needy. Says Karan, "I don't know how successful the show was. But it put me in touch with the real world. The show was about philanthropy and I understood the joy there is in giving. To meet all those needy individuals who came on the show connected me to a reality that most of us in the entertainment industry are cut off from the outside world." Karan was also bowled over by the amazing connectivity between the audience and the stars. Says Karan, "Akshay Kumar with whom I recorded my last episode of Lift Kara De has such an amazing and genuine bonding with his fans. Who says stars don't care for the common man?" Though the TRPs of Lift Kara De were not too encouraging Karan decided after hosting the show is to make a cinema that is reflective of a far larger truth than the elitist lifestyle his characters almost always assume. Immediately on the anvil after his return from New York is Season 3 of Koffee With Karan. "I start work on that in July. But it won't be in the same chatty mood any more. I think two recent events my film My Name Is Khan and to a lesser extent the TV show Lift Kara De has made me less self-centered. They've made me look outward into the world outside."
