Bollywood is mainly known to make period films based on real life events or mythological stories. Farhan Akhtar however seems to have some other plans.
The news is that Farhan is planning to make a period film! The director - actor went onto say that he is working on a script of a period film and that the film will not be depicting any historical events. Instead, it will be a fictitious story set in some particular period of the pre-independence era.
Rest of the details, as expected, are being kept under the wraps, thus setting the minds of the viewers to work overtime imagining the poster boy Farhan Akhtar in a period film!Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 30 Apr 2010 | 6:47 am Barbara Mori bares her soul

There are some real strange things that technology does to mankind! While it almost did away with the age old inland letters by having them replaced with E-Mail! Now, with the advent of 'everyone's 140-charactered personal space' (popularly known as 'Twitter'), it seems that writing a personal diary seems to look like a thing of the dinosaur era!
We saw some interesting activity on Celina Jaitly's page recently, who, apparently was suffering from a toothache. She tweeted the entire process of what one goes through the process of a root canal! Tweets Celina, "Root canal update: hurts like hell time for 1more pain killer i dnt know how in the blue blazes am I going to fly tomorrow night to Canada. I "DiD NOT" get a gold tooth did not want to look like a pimp considering. The root canal was done on front 2 teeth." And in no time, her inbox was filled with all the well-wishers' messages, to which she replied (ooopss... read 'tweeted'), "Hey tweeties I love u all thank u for ur wishes ... Once and for all Akshay Kumar sets the record straight on his pairing with Priyanka Chopra by saying he's all for the pair coming together again.
"But will she do a film with me? The ball is in her court. I do mostly comedies. I think Priyanka hardly ever acts in comedies," reasons Akshay.
Clearing all doubts about his ability/inability to work with Priyanka Chopra, Akshay says, "Excuse me, we're all professionals here. And the two of us have done very successful films in the past. I'd love to work with Priyanka Chopra again. Mujhe koi aitraaz nahin hai. But I'm only doing comedy films these days. I don't know whether she wants to do a comedy film. Even Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan is a comedy."
Having decided he would do predominantly comedy roles, Akshay is now on the look-out for ways to make it interesting. "Even if it's comedy it better be interesting. If I continue doing the same thing over and over again, I'd be asked to pack up sooner than I'd like."
Akshay had a ball doing Housefull. "Not just the three ladies but also Riteish Deshmukh and Arjun Rampal. Riteish was great fun. Shooting was a playground with him around. He just cracks me up. We once put the entire cutlery at the breakfast table in a hotel in Italy in Jiah Khan's bag and told the waiter to check her bag. Jiah took it sportingly. Arjun Rampal too has great comic timing. Lara Dutta is such an elegant lady and yet she be can one of the boys when it comes to comedy."
We've heard of actors carrying their roles home. But Akshay Kumar would be the first actor to take his part to the playing field. Having been training as a bowler Akshay Kumar is all set to play national-level cricket.
Akshay Kumar is fast learning to be a professional cricketer and plans to play at the national level soon. "I'm working towards it. Practicing my cricket gives me the biggest high. Every morning I look forward to practicing with Balwinder Singh Sandhu."
Akshay is rapidly becoming an expert bowler. "I am not yet good enough to play national-level cricket but I am getting there. I've been taking bowling lessons for Patiala House from one of the best trainers. I'm trying get to a national level. I'm very sporty by nature. So it was quite easy for me to pick it up."
Akshay trains in cricket for a couple of hours every day. "I'm getting good enough to play beyond the film. And I will very soon. I promise you."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 30 Apr 2010 | 4:15 am Yes, Headley was undercover agent, says his family - NDTV.com

When you have an ensemble of the funniest men in the industry coming together for a film, all you can expect is a 'Housefull' of entertainment. Hungama Digital Media in association with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. announced the launch of a digital promotions campaign for the film Housefull. It includes a 16 episode video blog on the making of the film, a Social Networking Application and iPhone, mobile & online game. Releasing on April 30, 2010 the film has been directed by Sajid Khan and stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta & Jiah Khan
Speaking at a press conference to announce the launch, Neeraj Roy, MD & CEO, Hungama Digital Media said, "With nearly 1000 films releasing every year, it is important for Bollywood studios to create promotional campaigns that connect with the audience. And digital media gives producers access to a captive audience that are ready to consume interesting content. The Indian audience is receptive of comic content and digital promotions for Housefull will give them a preview of a humor laden ride awaiting them at the cinemas."
The digital campaign for Housefull includes the launch of a 16 episode video blog which captures behind-the-scenes action from the shoot. This is for the first time a Bollywood film is capturing the entire schedule of the film on video blogs. Funny man Sajid Khan, director of Housefull, has narrated these blogs. "There are always some candid, interesting, funny and embarrassing moments on the sets while shooting any particular film. With these video blogs we want our viewers to experience the 64 days of entertaining bloopers from the shoot", said Sajid during the press conference.
Commenting on these initiatives, Sajid Nadiadwala, Producer of the film said, "Digital promotions for Housefull are based on some of the funniest episodes from the film. Be it Sajid's narrative on the video blog or the game based on the scene between Akshay and the monkey, the audience will be on a laughter ride while playing these games or watching the videos."
The online game and application for Housefull is based on a scene where Boman Irani, Riteish Deshmukh and Akshay Kumar characters are entangled in a three way slapping episode. The objective of the game will be to complete slapping all three characters within a stipulated time frame. The mobile and iPhone games are based on the scene between Akshay and a monkey. The users can either opt to play the character of Akshay or the monkey. The objective of the game will be to slap the monkey or Akshay as hard as possible and knock them across the park. Users will be able to select the power and the angle and then slap.
Speaking at the conference, Akshay Kumar said, "Hungama has designed really cool games for audiences to enjoy the funny scenes I have in the film. I had a great time shooting these scenes with the monkey, Riteish and Boman, now the audience can also play these games and enjoy the experience."
The video blogs features the videos in High definition formats on www.BollywoodHungama.com. Users can also view the video blog on Facebook, Orkut, Youtube and Dailymotion. The online game is available on Gaming Hungama and mobile games can be downloaded from leading telecom operators. The iPhone game can be downloaded from iTunes application store.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 30 Apr 2010 | 3:34 am Arnold Schwarzenegger denies ‘fluffer' job claimLondon (ANI): Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has dismissed reports that he once worked as a “fluffer” on the sets of pornographic films. There have been instances in the past where Bollywood filmmakers have requested their fellow colleagues to give them a required film title, which they might have rights for. However, what Madhur has done is definitely a first.
Madhur Bhandarkar, the new age realistic director, of late has been hunting for a single word title for his next film that stars Kareena Kapoor. And the title that he was looking at was Heroine. As luck would have it, the said title was already booked by Guddu Dhanoa, who has earlier made films like Deewana, Big Brother, Kismat, Bichhoo, Elaan etc. Madhur, instead of hitting upon a roadblock, hit upon a novel solution by deciding to donate Rs. 1 lakh to Guddu Dhanoa's charity and, thus became the owner of the title!
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Madhur said, "It was really nice of Guddu to have given the title to me. But I am not quite sure that if I am going to retain the same title for my film, as the film is in its premature stages. I will be in a position to say anything only after I get the final script in place."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 29 Apr 2010 | 6:08 am "It was very scary wakeup call for Rohit Bal" - Arjun Rampal
Arjun Rampal's mentor and pal, designer Rohit Bal, is out of hospital and back home recuperating slowly after a heart attack.
Says Arjun, "It was a scary wake-up call for Rohit. He is recovering. But it will take time. He will now be far more cautious about his health. Who doesn't want to live? We all need to exercise restrain and keep regular hours."
Arjun has two contrasting releases Raajneeti and Housefull coming up one after another. Everyone is wondering why he is missing from the promotional songs of Housefull.
Arjun says, "The 'Apni To Jaise Taise' track is my song. I am very happy with both Raajneeti and Housefull. And now I start shooting for Ra.One and Don 2."
While he's tight-lipped about his roles in both these Shah Rukh Khan starrers, he does let out that his lame character Jasjit in Don 2 will lose his limp in the sequel.
"Don't ask me how. In two years, he just lost it. That's how Farhan Akhtar sees my character. I will go by his vision."
For the villain's role in Ra.One, Arjun will be getting into an elaborate get-up and make-up for the first time.
Argues Arjun, "Why first time? I had a special look for Rock On. I had my hair till my waist. I guess when we do the sequel I'll have to grow my hair again. Or we can say the guy lost his hair while the audience was not looking."
About being cast as a villain, first by Farah Khan in Om Shanti Om then Shah Rukh in Ra. One, Arjun says, "I suppose I've a face that renders itself well to a different kind of villainy. My black characters are not over-the-top."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 29 Apr 2010 | 5:27 am Housefull makers give press shows the skip
In what could be seen as a radical departure from the norm, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has decided to do away with any press screening of his new summer biggie Housefull which releases tomorrow.
His logic for this somewhat historic move is simple. Why allow adverse comments to go out when the film is about to be released?
Admitting he has aborted press screenings for Housefull, Nadiadwala says, "When my last film Kambakkht Ishq was released, the reviews were up on a day before, on Thursday. None of them did my film any good. Now we have Twitter where comments are spread faster than viruses on the computer. It may sound arrogant but I'm not holding press shows because my film can't afford the criticism."
But why is Nadiadwala so sure the press won't like the film?
Says the producer, "My film has a monkey slapping Akshay Kumar, a dog, a tiger and sleepwalking father who suddenly comes awake to sing, 'Papa Jag Jayega'. It isn't the most logical of films. It's for the masses. So let the critics watch it with the masses on Friday."
However, Nadiadwala has been gracious enough to call up every critic in Mumbai personally to explain his position. "I hope they understand. They're all my friends. In fact I have made the stars of my next film Anjaana Anjaani sign a NDA (non disclosure agreement) to keep information away from Twitter. If critics are willing to do the same I'd be happy to show them my film in advance. But the habit of tweeting and posting comments on new films on Facebook has to stop. It's very damaging."
Adds Housefull director Sajid Khan, "I have no clue why the press screening is not on. I'm not the producer, merely the director."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 29 Apr 2010 | 4:50 am Poster of 'The Wonder Stone' movie launchedThe first poster of the movie 'The Wonder Stone' was recently launched at Tagore Public School. Last week, we heard the news and saw the picture in one of our tabloid newspapers of Barbara Mori along with her new close friends Suzanne Roshan and Hrithik Roshan partying in Mumbai. Well, it was now confession time for the beautiful Barbara Mori when we met her at the Oakwood serviced apartment in Juhu yesterday. Yes, the Mexican actress revealed for the first time her wish list and how it is to be such great friends with Suzanne than Hrithik. On asking her the question, Mori was quick to respond, "My best friend in India is Suzanne Roshan. I am good friends with Hrithik too. But Suzanne really gets a bit personal when it comes to taking care of me. She will keep me at bay from the 'do not do that' or 'do not go for that' list."
Barbara also has her wish list ready when it comes to work and friendship. Just four days ago, Hrithik and Suzanne took Barbara to meet Shah Rukh Khan. The rest, well, Barbara will tell you, "I met Shah Rukh Khan because Suzanne insisted me to meet Gauri and her husband. She told me that Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are the nicest people I will ever come across in India."
The leading lady of Kites has now seen the palace like mammoth Mannat. But what about the 'king' living in there? What about him? To which Mori answers, "Shah Rukh Khan was really nice as a host on that day and as a person. Shah Rukh has got a very big heart. He takes care of his guests a lot."
And on asking her whether she would want to work with the 'king' in the near future, she replies, "Yes, I'd love to work with Shah Rukh Khan. I haven't seen any films of his but I can say he is a great actor from what I hear and have been told from Suzanne and Hrithik."
One thing's for sure; Barbara Mori isn't a one trip pony. And with a wish list to work with Shah Rukh Khan, you just can't say when you'll be seeing this belleza Barbara soon in her second Hindi feature film, unless our very own SRK does a Mexican film. You never know. Fingers crossed.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 29 Apr 2010 | 4:26 am Arjun Rampal keeps low profile post grandmother's demise
It's a bitter sweet moment for Arjun Rampal, where on one end his multi starrer film Housefull is up for release, on the other hand he is drowned in grief due to a personal tragedy.
Arjun is faced with the demise of his grandmother whom he was extremely close too. It's a personal loss for the actor and he is therefore keeping a low profile. While all the other actors are going all out and promoting the film, it seems like Arjun might take time away from some of the activities as he comes to terms with this sudden misfortune.

With the temperatures soaring like never before and heating up the city, even a slice of cucumber seems like an oasis in the desert! In such a condition, imagine what will happen if you get an entire ocean for yourself! Well, that's exactly how it feels to look at Deepika Padukone as she serves as an eye candy in the sweating summer heat... in the recent edition of Vogue!
'Coming of age' is what the headline screams... something that we openly admit and bow over heads to. We also bow over heads to the facts that Deepika has shared with the readers in this issue. She says, "I have been lucky that I haven't been slaughtered very often. My style really hasn't been affected simply because I don't want to give any importance to journalists who don't understand fashion and don't really dress well themselves." Talking about her style, Deepika says, "My style has been pretty basic, but, it is evolving and I am experimenting with new silhouettes. Overall, though, I just believe in being well-turned-out at all times."

At the moment Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is trying to cope up with the most impossible schedule ever faced by an actress. She was in the US to bring in her third marriage anniversary. Then Cannes for the film festival. In-between she must also start all the promotional work for Mani Ratnam's Raavan.
And now with Akshay Kumar in London for 90 days to shoot for Nikhil Advani's Patiala House, where does that leave Vipul Shah with his one remaining song to be shot for Action Replay?
Not in a very happy position! Neither Aishwarya nor Akshay Kumar has any dates to spare for the song. And Vipul won't release the film without the song, which he considers extremely vital to the plot.
So here's the ever-accommodating Aishwarya's plan: She generously suggested that Vipul flies down with his unit to London. She herself would fly from Cannes to London and shoot the song with Akshay in night shifts. That is when Akshay wouldn't be shooting for Patiala House.
Says Vipul, "It is very generous and considerate of Aishwarya to suggest that she'd join me from Cannes, that I come to London and shoot the song with her and Akshay. She is really working very hard. Both Akshay and she have a genuine date problem."
Vipul is in two minds whether he should take up his indefatigable leading lady's kind offer. "I need four days to shoot my song. I don't know if I can impose on director Nikhil Advani's time and money like this. Let's see. In any case, I've now postponed the release of Action Replayy from July to September."
