Media has been rife with speculations that Hrithik will be performing at IPL awards and the closing ceremony plus at the IIFA night too.
However now it looks like all are in for a disappointment since his doctor has ordered him 'no dance, no running and no stress of any kind whatsoever on his knee.'
While the knee was recuperating well, the dance sequence shot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Guzaarish has taken its toll again on the knee and as a result, he regrettably won't be able to participate.
Hrithik's agency Carving Dreams confirmed the news saying, "Hrithik was excited to participate and had given his consent. He even went to Singapore 3 days ago to consult his doctor and get his final reports. Unfortunately, his doctor has ruled it out for at least a month to month and a half for now, if it has to recuperate. While he is disappointed at the news; we can't risk his health in the long run".
Currently Hrithik is shooting for a co branded TVC for Kites and it is learnt that the creatives had to be changed to delete the treadmill and dance sequence from the same.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 17 Apr 2010 | 9:41 am Kareena yet to sign Madhur's film on Marilyn Monroe

If the name Alan Edward Bell doesn't ring a 'bell' in your mind, then, let us tell you that, he is the same man who is responsible for the crisp editing of 500 Days Of Summer. And it is going to be this man who will very soon be the talk of the nation (or is that 'globe'?), as he is the man responsible for 'taming the hurricane'. For the uninitiated, we are talking about the climax of Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan wherein the characters get stranded due to a hurricane. Post the release of the film in India; while the story and screenplay were appreciated to the hilt, this was one particular scene that was panned by critics alike. But, for its US release, KJo has let Bell's hands to do the talking (read 'snipping').
Karan Johan candidly admits that he was expecting this scene not to work in the same wavelength as the film's story. He also added that, it was for this reason, that he let Bell to do his job (without any interference from him) since he wanted an outsider's perspective to the story. This has now resulted in the chopping of the hurricane scene in the US version of My Name Is Khan. Bell's work will be visible in the film, which releases on May 7th in the US, and will have its subtitles and voiceovers in English for the audiences there.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 17 Apr 2010 | 5:26 am Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL to be a multiple language treat - GlamSham

Source: Entertainment - Google News | 17 Apr 2010 | 4:15 am Kookie Gulati all set to make Prince sequel
Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu , Sushmita Senâ¦These are the names that would be offered the lead parts in the sequel to Prince which is all set to go on the floors early next year.
Kookie Gulati, the young director of Prince is in a daze. He just can't believe the opening that his film Prince has received. And before he could even begin to let the whole idea of a potential hit sink in, he's all set to create a sequel to Prince.
Confirming this, Gulati says, "We had left the ending open, suggesting there might be more to the plot than what we had just seen. But there was just a hint of a fear. What if Prince fell flat on its face? What would people say about even suggesting a sequel?"
Luckily the response to the film has been overwhelming. Kookie who had never directed a feature film before, has locked the plot. "I have an idea for the sequel which I'll now develop. Since it's the plot that has worked in Prince we've to make sure the sequel is even stronger in terms of content."
While Vivek Oberoi will of course play the title role in the sequel the rest of the cast specially the leading ladies will all change.
Says a source close to the Prince project, "When we approached the top leading ladies they all either said a straight no nor or begged off with the date excuse. They had no faith in the project. More importantly no top leading lady wanted to work with Vivek. On the day after Prince opened Vivek began to receive congratulatory SMS's from some of the leading ladies who had declined to work with him in Prince."
Vivek Oberoi laughs . "I wouldn't like to dwell on the past. All is good now. And I'd just like to concentrate on the positive things. Yes, we are making a sequel. In fact when we put in a suggestion of it in the first film we had finally decided to edit it out because it was vain at that point of time to think audiences would like our film enough to see a sequel."
Adds Kookie Gulati, "It's been a three-year uphill climb for me and Vivek. I was making music videos for the Tauranis' Tips. It took me a great deal of effort to convince them that I could pull off a feature film. During the last three years I have had no time to do anything else but the film. My 3-year old son thinks I'm a stranger in the house. I'm much better prepared for the sequel. I'm more confident now."
Producer Kumar Taurani also confirms plans for the sequel.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 17 Apr 2010 | 4:09 am Subhash K. Jha speaks about Paathshaala
If a piece of cinema ever had its heart in the place, this is it. Don't let the sluggish pace, the absence of stylish shots and flamboyant frames fool you into believing that this is a film with no style.
The style behind Paathshaala is in its inner conviction. The obvious artlessness of presentation with the students and teachers of an imaginary school behaving with a bluntness that replicates the dialect of television talk- shows rather than the realism of cinema, must not come in the way of our wholeheartedly accepting the film for what it is. An unconditionally sincere effort to understand why the country's educational system pressurizes children into performance anxiety.
While Basha Lal's cinematography is free of poetic flourishes the Ae Khuda track just sweeps you off your feet. That is not the effect this grounded and sensible film and its unhurried pace strive to achieve otherwise.
The storytelling is suffused with sensitive pockets. To cite some examples... in one sequence the veteran sports teacher(played ably by Sushant Singh) gets together students to climb on one another to make a human pyramid for the sake of media coverage. The callousness of the freelance journalist as he talks into the cellphone while the students sweat it out in the sun, smothers your cynicism about such manipulative drama in the narrative.
Elsewhere a little boy (Dwij Yadav) is made to stand in the sun for not paying the school fees. And then that decisive moment where a crass ad-maker reduces a little kid (Ali Haji) to choked tears, just chokes you.
The music reality-show agent, who auditions the school kids as though they are fish to be fried straight from the market, is almost caricatural in his grotesque commercialism. Then you realize that real life has sold out to a kind of vulgar self-gratification that makes real life look more like a soap opera than the soaps that we see on television.
There is an inherent wisdom in the homilies that Paathshaala serves up so sincerely, The narration is so laidback and de-toxicated you often wonder if the director believes that the inherent harmony of real life can only be captured in leisurely grace.
Comparisons to Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par are inevitable. Though flawed and at times failed, the overview of the educational system in Paathshaala is macro-cosmicin its own right.
The plot meanders into various issues that plague the educational institutions before negotiating itself into a clumsily 'epic' climax where the whole country's media becomes interested in the politics of the school where the plot unfolds.
The unevenness of pace notwithstanding there is no mistaking the film's earnestness of purpose. Every actor young and old pitches an honest and transparent performance. The stand-out (or considering the low-key pitch, should we say stand-in?) actors are Saurabh Shukla and Anjan Shrivastava. As for the children, let's not discriminate among them. They are all utterly charming.
The film's comment on the corrosion and corruption of education makes space for little-little flirty romantic liaisons among the older students. Cute!
As for Shahid Kapoor, the guy says his Hindi lines as though he just though of them and expresses his connectivity with the kids with a warmth and effortlessness that makes the other superstars teachers on celluloid look rather put-on in-comparison.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 17 Apr 2010 | 3:15 am We're not a fashionable country: Johar - Hindustan Times
