There is so much going on with the very popular Kapoor boy that it's almost exhausting. If the upcoming Paathshaala and the next in line Badmaash Company wasn't enough, Shahid is all geared up and looking edgy for his film Mausam that is still being shot.
As he runs around for the promotions of Paathshaala and now Badmaash Company, it's hard to miss the beard he has kept. It keeps you on toes, while we wonder which of his looks will suit him. Was it the chocolate boy one which he kept for the longest period of time, was it the neat and clean look in Jab We Met, the hard core rough look he bore in Kaminey or is it this bearded one. Though he is definitely being complimented for this makeover on a social networking site and the Kapoor boy is more than overwhelmed as he replies "p.s thanks for all the compliments on the beard :)"
While we know that this new look is definitely for Mausam, it has to be noted that he is playing an Air Force Officer in the film. The lady opposite him would be Sonam Kapoor who would play an innocent Kashmiri girl. Wow! Here's a couple that's new and fresh.
This Pankaj Kapoor Directorial film and produced by Madhu Mantena who also produced Ghajini, is going to be shot in some rather exotic locales which will be shown as Kashmir Valley. One of them is Edinburgh in the United Kingdom where our good looking Kapoor boy dressed in the air officer's uniform is going to look every bit fetching. Watch out women... this one is going to take the cake away!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 13 Apr 2010 | 3:48 am Jackie comes clean on romantic liaison with Riteish
Jacqueline Fernandez has decided to announce 'enough is enough'. Ever since the promotion of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai had begun, there were stories being planted around her romantic rendezvous with Riteish Deshmukh. Though she had initially decided to laugh it all away by terming it as 'silly gossip', Jackie is tired of continuous insinuations around that 'special something' brewing between the two. However, what has really got on her are the charges around such stories being deliberately planted to gain extra mileage for the film around its release. Jackie reacts.
"After working in two films with Riteish, I was expecting that to happen. I wasn't surprised at all because such stories will come and really, everyone goes through it. However, don't people realise that such stories start rolling out right before the release of every film. Everyone with even limited brains would know that you are only putting two and two together. What is even funnier is that three months after the release of the film, the same people would be in tearing hurry to break your relationship. Because the two actors don't meet as regularly as before once the film has been released, stories start floating around cold vibes between the two", says a visibly irritated Jackie who is not quite willing to smile it all away anymore.
She lightens up though when told that all of this only adds to the entertainment value for few who look forward to their weekly dose of celebrity gossip.
"Entertaining? For sure, why not? But come on now, there has to be some limit to far fetched imaginations", she cools down after an earlier bout of outburst, "For work you are bound to be seen together all the time. Because you are spending an entire day with someone, you do grab lunch together. But something as simple like this makes people exclaim - 'Oh my God, they are wining and dining together'."
She adds animatedly, "Think about it, just because you are in glamour business doesn't mean that there should be prying eyes all around you. A relationship between colleagues is so normal in every other profession. Even if you are an accountant, you will go out with your colleague and have lunch. However, you are not necessarily linked each time around, do you?"
Well, so where does the relationship status of Riteish and Jackie stand today? "We are good friends", comes her reply pronto, "With Riteish, it is like working with a buddy. We hang out and it makes a hell sort of difference. It is quite comfortable with him, you know. You can act much better and not worry too much about what your co-star is thinking. The familiarity factor comes in handy because you say to yourself - 'Ok, so it's cool because I have worked with him before'. I am at ease with him, both on and off the sets."
We have heard that before but this time around, we are willing to be on Jackie's side!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 13 Apr 2010 | 3:45 am I have an obsession to scare people: Ram Gopal VarmaDirector-producer Ram Gopal Varma confesses he always had an obsession to scare people since his childhood and would stand behind doors and say "bhooo" to someone entering a room.Source: Entertainment News | 13 Apr 2010 | 3:38 am Ranbir Kapoor not to play Raj KapoorThough he has the golden opportunity to play Kishore Kumar in a movie, Ranbir Kapoor has lost out on the chance to play his grandfather Raj Kapoor in a forthcoming Yash Raj Films project. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has three very different releases coming up this year. And the most speculated question in the industry right now is, which performance would Aishwarya get all the popular awards for, the one in Mani Ratnam's Raavan or Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish?
Those who have seen rushes of the two films say she has given her career's best performance in both. Then she has Vipul Shah's Action Replayy where she has attempted a full-on comic role for the first time.
"Of course comedy which is the hardest genre to do is not taken seriously at the awards. But in my film Aishwarya has done comedy for the first time. She may have attempted it here and there earlier. But this is her first full-fledged comedy role. But she's welcome to get the awards for her other two releases, I don't mind," says Vipul Shah wryly.
While Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish will release in November, the two Aishwarya projects Mani Ratnam's Raavan and Vipul Shah's Action Replayy are due in quick succession within a month.
While Mani's Raavan is due for release June 18, Vipul was all set to release Action Replayy a month later in July, arguing that the two films are completely different in mood theme and treatment.
But now it seems better sense has prevailed, thanks to the bitter experience that Vipul went through last year when his Salman starrer London Dreams was released a month after Salman's home production Main Aur Mrs Khanna. Then too Vipul had argued that two films with the same actor do not overlap when the films belong to the same genre.
Now apparently Vipul has seen sense. He plans to sit down with Mani Ratnam and figure out a release strategy whereby neither film suffers.
Says Vipul, "Raavan and Action Replayy are very different films. And I thought I'd come in July. But I think I'll now discuss it with Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam. We need to work as one big family in this industry. Besides I still have a song to shoot whereas Raavan is complete. I've yet to figure out when I can shoot it because both Aishwarya and Akshay are constantly travelling. We were supposed to shoot it earlier this year in the snow in Manali. Now we may go higher up at the Rohtang Pass, or change the location for the song completely."
In the meanwhile those fearing competition from Guzaarish can breathe easy. Contrary to rumours Sanjay Leela Bhansali won't be releasing in Diwali. After Saawariya which was released during Diwali, he no longer considers the festive season auspicious for his films.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 Apr 2010 | 3:28 am John Tesh confirms dating Oprah Winfrey onceNew York (ANI): After investigative journalist Kitty Kelley claimed in her new book that pianist/composer John Tesh bolted on Oprah Winfrey in the middle of the night, he has confirmed that he had once dated the talk show host.Tesh, 57, revealedSource: Oneindia.in - Entertainment | 13 Apr 2010 | 3:26 am Mihika to essay a bahu with fully clothedMihika Verma, Miss India-turned television actress will be seen in D.J‘s ‘Toh Baat Hamari Pakki Hai’. Shahid Kapoor is not new to controversies. In fact, every time a movie starring the talented actor is ready to unfurl, stories about Shahid having problems with the director surface first, followed by news of romantic liaisons with the film's leading lady.
In the past, it was said Shahid had serious differences with Priyadarshan [CHUP CHUP KE], Aziz Mirza [KISMAT KONNECTION], Vishal Bhardwaj [KAMINEY], Anurag Singh [DIL BOLE HADIPPA!] and Ken Ghosh [CHANCE PE DANCE]. Is he difficult to work with? "Isn't it strange that people ask this question every time my movie is complete? I am asked to clarify if the director and I see eye to eye⦠It amuses me no end," Shahid smiles.
Reportedly, Shahid and Parmeet Sethi, the actor who makes his directorial debut with BADMAASH COMPANY, had difference of opinion over the climax of the film. "All discussions took place while we were in the [script] reading stages. If any changes were to be made, they had to be implemented before we began filming. Yes, I did express my opinion to Adi [Chopra] and Parmeet about a certain portion in the film. They agreed because they were convinced about it. But there were no issues when we began filming," Shahid clarifies.
Shahid feels that Parmeet is a supremely talented director. "I am glad I agreed to work in BADMAASH COMPANY. Parmeet is a fine storyteller. In fact, I keep wondering, why didn't he take to direction earlier? Direction is his true calling," Shahid states.
There's also talk that BADMAASH COMPANY is the newer, updated version of BUNTY AUR BABLI. True? Shahid laughs, "I've heard this one too, but I am just going to say just this. Watch BADMAASH COMPANY to know the difference. Frankly, why would anyone want to remake a successful film that's still so fresh in the minds of the audience? BADMAASH COMPANY is not similar to any film. Not BUNTY AUR BABLI for sure."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 Apr 2010 | 12:25 am Vikram Bhatt's next is an erotic-thriller 'Dangerous Ishq'
After making two horror films back to back, 1920 and SHAAPIT, Vikram Bhatt was planning to start yet another horror film, but he has put the plans on hold for the time being. His next film, instead, will be an erotic-thriller called DANGEROUS ISHQ and like his last two moves, will star newcomers in pivotal roles.
What's DANGEROUS ISHQ all about? "It reflects the lives of people living in metros. It also looks at the two sides of the coin - love and lust," Vikram divulges. Vikram is all geared to start filming in August and release the film by November this year. He's in talks with model Ganesh Venkatraman to head the cast, while two girls are yet to be finalised. "Ganesh has featured in a number of South films and DANGEROUS ISHQ will mark his debut in the Hindi arena," Vikram says.
So what happens to the horror film that he was planning to make? "We are scripting it at the moment. It will be made in 3D, once we are through with DANGEROUS ISHQ," Vikram states.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 13 Apr 2010 | 12:23 am Jackie and I are great friends: Riteish - Oneindia

After the release of 2D composite animation film My Friend Ganesha part 1 and 2, children all over have pondered and eagerly awaited for the next sequel of this flick.
Titled as My friend Ganesha 3 (MFG3), the film has a stimulating effect and has garnered decent reviews from all over. Being touted as one of the best Indian 3D animated composite film, we also get to see India's most loved deity Ganpati Bappa doing an Item number and dancing with real actors. The film boasts of casting well known Marathi actors like Sayaji Shinde, Makrand Anaspure, Himani Shivpuri, along with Baba Sehgal, amongst others.
Directed by Rajiv Ruia, the film was produced by Baba Arts and animation was executed by Radiant Animation.
Emphasizes Rajiv, on the fact that shooting a 3D composite film wasn't as easy as compared to the 2D versions, "As a director the challenge was to frame the shots and compositing live action characters with the CG Ganesha. Let it be a Dolly, Jimmy-jib or a Crane shot, tracking was a typical task whenever the camera moved with the characters,"
Ajhai Acharya, co-producer of the trilogy adds, "We have already started pre-production for My Friend Ganesha 4 which we're considering completely in 3D. The last film was in composited 2D and which gave us enough experience to take our next product to the international level."

In a season which was reeling with failures and only had an occasional Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge or Love Sex Aur Dhokha, a medium and low budget film respectively, enjoying a face saving outing at theatres, a big budget movie like Prince showing sparks of resurgence at the box office has been a welcome sign indeed.
Says an obviously excited Vivek Oberoi, "This has been truly humbling. There was a sense of definite positive energy that I could experience before the release of the film. With some terrific promotion preceding the film, I could gauge that there were quite a few waiting to catch Prince in theatres. I am told by trade experts that the film's opening is one of the best in recent times. Great, and now as the figures are coming in, we can see it all by ourselves."
Well, Vivek personally too caught the response first hand when he sneaked into a single screen theatre at Mumbai on Friday evening. While the film was running to packed houses, he silently walked in around the interval point. On finding Vivek amidst them, the crowd (expectedly) went berserk and lifted him in the air.
Says a source who was present on the site, "It was a rockstar treatment that was meted out to Vivek. You know the kind where a star is lifted up in air and passed on from one group to another in a smooth flowing manner. Vivek was so emotionally charged with the entire experience that he just choked. He had waited for all of this for so many years and it was eventually Prince that had him connected to his fan base all over again."
"In the process, over zealous fans were all over him which also resulted in a few minor bruises and nail marks. However, Vivek enjoyed all the attention rather than worrying about physical pain", adds the source. Moreover, such emotional was this moment for Vivek that he even hugged the 'Housefull' board which was kept at the entrance of the theatre.
Meanwhile, trade too is happy that finally there is a film which has done something worthwhile at the box office even as IPL is on full steam. Though an overall run of the film is yet to be ascertained, Wednesday holiday of Baisakhi should further add on the ammunition (read collections) that Prince has in store. Moreover, while there have been dozens of films that have fallen flat on their face in the first quarter of 2010, the very opening that Prince has taken is being acknowledged with huge relief.
Says a prominent film, "If till last week, someone would have said that a film starring Vivek Oberoi would take the third best opening of the year after Shah Rukh Khan's My Name Is Khan and Salman Khan's Veer, he would have been pronto sent to an asylum. Well, that 'someone' can now proudly stand up and make that announcement. The film has taken the biggest opening ever of Vivek's career. For producer Kumar Taurani, a start like this makes it easier now to recover Rs. 40 crores (including print and publicity) that have been spent on the film. Vivek can now afford to enjoy a good night sleep for months to come before he revisits anxious moments yet again with Rakta Charitra."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 12 Apr 2010 | 4:36 am Live Chat: Milind Ukey today at 1700 hrs IST

She is someone whom everyone wants to be, aspires to be but also perspires to be, for being her is not just tough, but also impossible. She is what true 'Blue' Divas are made of! Ladies and gentlemen, she is none other than Lara Dutta, the lady, before whom the term 'confidence' tends to get an inferiority complex! Testimonials to this stand in the form of Andaaz, Masti, No Entry, Partner...to name a few! The good news is that this lady is back with her latest offering Housefull, a mad-cap comedy that's directed by Sajid Khan. Satish Sundaresan of Bollywood Hungama caught up with this actress in an exclusive interview, wherein she spoke all about her life, movies and yessssâ¦also the eternal tattoo! Read on and find out more about what makes Lara Dutta the phenomenon that she is today!
How was Sajid Khan as a director and how was your rapport with him?
He is fantastic. The screenplay had taken almost three years for him, to write, after Heyy Babyy! He clearly knows what he wants. He knows all the ingredients that are required to make a full-on Masala film entertainer. He is excellent to work with, in terms of working with a director.
What was it about the script that appealed top you the most?
It's my character in the film. And when I was being narrated the script, I was laughing and falling off the couch. My character in the film is one of the most crucial elements of the film. And when I was narrated the script of the film, I really felt that I would be a real fool if I say not to this role. It gave me a whole spectrum to perform.
Having visited many locations, did you pick up any thing as memorabilia?
Yups! I picked up lots of postcards from Italy. They are simply awesome.
How has the music of the film shaped up and what's your favourite song?
I have to say this that the trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has given a brilliant score to the film. Each and every song in the film is totally situational. 'Papa Jaag Jaayega' has really caught on and closely followed by 'Dhanno', which is a new age revisit to 'Apni Toh Aisi Taisi'.
Are there any cameos or surprise packages in the film?
There are a few, including the Queen of England.

On Sunday morning two days after his office in suburban Mumbai was visited by goons allegedly attached to the alleged gangster Ejaz Lakdawala, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, no stranger to attacks, is calmly ensconced in his home.
"It's not so much me but the ladies in my family, my mother wife and my daughter who are pareshaan. I keep assuring them I am fine. Nothing will happen. I've full faith in the Maharashtra police. Last time in January when there was a crime situation at my home the cops had acted swiftly and the culprits were nabbed. This time too they've leapt into action. I feel I'm in safe hands."
On Friday morning the goons barged into the compound of Nadiadwala's office and left number allegedly linked to Lakdawala.
"I guess it was about money. Luckily it was too early in the morning for me to be in the office. They asked me to call up on the numbers. I immediately called the cops," says Sajid trying to keep his tone normal.
The one most alarming thought in Naidiadwala and other film producers' minds is that this could signal the return of underworld threats to Bollywood.
Remarks Sajid cautiously, "I do have a big release coming up (Housefull). Earlier these calls used to come whenever one of us producers had a big release. I could take this to mean that my film is being perceived as big...It's my sense of humour that has always kept me going through every crisis. But jokes apart, I do hope this is a one-off threat and not the renewal of a very frustrating and frightening trend."
At the moment Sajid is confined to his home amidst heavy security bandobast.
Says the producer, "My security both at home and in the office has been beefed up considerably. I don't feel unsafe. But yes, such an incident does weigh on your mind and hampers your work. I was busy with the mixing of Housefull when this happened. I can pretend everything is normal. But it has affected me."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 12 Apr 2010 | 3:27 am
