Not only does he make films with perfection but Aamir Khan also takes his initiatives very seriously. For the last one year, Aamir has been working hand in hand with the Ministry for Tourism to spread the message of 'Atithi Devo Bhava'. This has been an honorary commitment that Aamir has made and he isn't charging any remuneration for it. For him, it's all about promoting India's rich heritage and sensitising Indians about the fact that we are hospitable people.
The campaign 'Atithi Devo Bhava' made quite an impact the last time with Aamir appealing to the public to stop defacing national monuments and to be cordial to the tourists. The new ad films that Aamir is now working on with Rang De Basanti director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will be a bit different. Interestingly, Aamir will be seen as a sutradhar (narrator) in the films.

After garnering critical acclaim and commercial success, the men behind Chak De India, Shimit Amin and Jaideep Sahni are back again with their latest venture Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year starring the current heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor.
Even before its worldwide release on December 11th 2009, Rocket Singh- Salesman of the Year has already bagged an important laurel. The film has been selected in the 6th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from December 9 - 16, 2009. The film will be part of the Gala Celebration of Indian Cinema section of the Out of Competition DIFF programme. This will also be the World Premiere of the movie. The screening is scheduled on 10th December 2009 at 19:00 hrs, in Madinat Arena Cinema. Ranbir Kapoor, Shimit Amin and Jaideep Sahni have been especially invited by the Dubai International Film Festival to attend the festival this year.
Now in its sixth year, DIFF 2009 is held in association with Dubai Studio City and supported by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Since its first edition in 2004, DIFF has established itself as an important cultural event in Dubai and the UAE. There has been a remarkable growth in the number of films presented and an increased interest in audience numbers. The Big B's workaholism is by now a well-known fact in the industry. The past week has been exceptionally hectic even by his own standards.
Little wonder then that Mr. Bachchan dozed off at the felicitation ceremony on Saturday at Chennai at Satyam cinema where he was honoured by all the film federations of Chennai.
At the end of the evening, the Big B had 24 shawls to bring back from Chennai. A burden he was ill-prepared for, considering he had gone with only a day's baggage to Chennai.
When asked what he would do with the massive haul of 24 shawls, the Big B replied, "I'll give them away to the needy."
But the shawls were least of the Big B's burdens in Chennai. Extreme exhaustion finally caught up with him when he dozed off in his hotel before the felicitation ceremony and woke up thoroughly disoriented, not knowing where he was.
Director Balki who was with the Big B says, "He was fine. He finally had some sleep. You've to understand that this is no ordinary human being. Amitji is a miracle. He can continue working non-stop without sleep. Last week he was running around getting the premiere in place. Then on Friday morning, he left to shoot for Bigg Boss without any sleep after the premiere. After shooting the entire day in Lonavla, he attended the Bombay Times party and then on Saturday early morning he left for Chennai. At an age when a lot of us will be in a rocking chair, he is still rocking."
Rocking is all very fine. But those close to the Big B feel he is again overdoing his work schedules and needs to slow down, fast.
Says a person very close to the Big B, "After two major health scares recently, Amitji has refused to slacken his pace. Father and son are at it again. Mixing masti and work we mean. It's a big deal when Bollywood's apex father-son duo does a special photo-shoot for entertainment magazine Hi! Blitz.
So, what we have is an interesting cover picture (above) and an intriguing insight into the life of the Bachchan's. In an interview to the magazine, Amitabh says, "Sons are always linked to their famous father. My father was a legendary poet. I always grew up from a very young age being called, 'Yeh Bachchanji ke putra hai.' Abhishek has to deal with the issue of a famous father the way I had to deal with it too."
So how does Abhishek react to growing under his father's imposing, larger than life persona? "Pa used to tell me as a kid that Dadaji (Harivanshrai Bachchan) used to tell him that the day your son starts starts wearing your shoes, he stops being your son - he becomes your friend. As soon as I tried Pa's shoes when I was 11 or 12 and realized it fits, from then we do everything together, like best friends do. The first time I went nightclubbing in my life was with my dad in Boston," Abhishek says.
But there's more. The latest star addition to the family, Aishwarya Rai - Bachchan is also talked about. "Aishwarya keeps it very real around us. She never expects me to be different, and lets me be myself," says Abhishek. Like father like son. Himesh Reshammiya is smiling again. He is happy to find himself in a zone where not many expected him to reach three years back when he announced his decision to turn an actor. After the release of Radio, which as per the actor was targeted for a niche audience, he now has three diverse films (including Aap Kaa Surroor and Karzzzz) behind him. Now, with Kajraare, he is taking another step forward and is aiming to explore a different world altogether.
"It's time now to move on to a larger commercial setup", Himesh adds, "After Radio, it would be a nice switch to move to Kajraare which is a mainstream film with universal appeal. The film's highlight is the way Pooja (Bhatt) has presented me. She has shot the film set against the backdrop of Petra (Jordan), which is widely recognized as the eigth wonder of the world."
While John Maththan's A Love Issshtory and Studio 18's Ishq Unplugged are also ready, it would be Bhushan Kumar produced Kajraare that would arrive first.
"(Mahesh) Bhatt saab has come up with such a sensational subject in the form of Kajraare while Bhushan has been a great producer. The music is path breaking as well and for audiences who have liked my compositions for Radio, I can assure that there is yet another beautiful score in the offering. Stay tuned", Himesh says with a tone of confidence.
Promotion of Kajraare will begin in a week's time and as per sources, there are some huge plans to reveal the First Look of the film followed by an intensive marketing and promotional plan.

Expect fireworks as the star duo will be seen celebrating several occasions in the commercial, including Christmas and New Year.

If Abhishek Bachchan has carried his dad playing the progeric Auro piggyback in Paa, Vidya Balan had to carry another actor playing the same character's younger version.
The problem was, the physically-challenged 3-foot actor was almost the same weight as Vidya. She tripped and fell while doing the scene.
His name is Little Kiran. But he's anything but little age-wise. Though height-challenged 3-feet nothing, Little Kiran who has played parts in a number of Hollywood films including segments of Narnia, The Lord Of The Rings and Star Trek was brought to Mumbai to play Vidya Balan's progeric son at a younger age than the Big B.
It was when the shooting started that the director Balki suggested she carry him piggyback, the way Abhishek carries the older Auro later in the film.
Says Vidya, "At first the idea of carrying a 53-year old man who happened to be a very warm and talented Gujarati artiste from London was very discouraging. But when you're doing a film that you know somewhere is creating an unprecedented world, you tend to get defiant as an actor."
Vidya recklessly agreed to carry a man who was older than her and almost the same weight. In doing so she tripped and fell and suffered an acute back-ache for a long time.
But it was all worth it.
Says Vidya, "It's a passing shot. But I don't think any actress in the world has done it. Carried a 53-year old man playing her son. But then which other actress my age gets to play Mr Bachchan's mother?"
Vidya says she might have hesitated in playing a mom if it was to a real child. "But with Mr Bachchan it was a straight yes."
The effort has paid off. On Saturday night Vidya's family saw Paa for the first time along with the Bachchans. "And my sister Priya howled all through. To her I'll always be the little baby of the family and she the protective Didi. She couldn't believe the trauma of a mother that I was projecting in Paa."
Be shocked if you like, but Vidya with all her nurturing personality can't get along with kids in real life. "If I hold a baby for a while I get stressed. In Heyy Babyy, the baby would bawl every time I had to carry it. In Paa I had to mother a man who was far older. It took a lot of getting used to. The fact that Mr Bachchan kept referring to me as 'Maa' as soon he entered the sets, sure helped."
And now Vidya goes straight into playing his daughter in Sanjay Leela Bhansali-produced Chenaab Gandhi.
"Isn't that amazing? It takes a lot of getting used to. But I feel blessed. I'm done with trying to be someone I am not. I went through a period of tremendous turmoil when I was struggling to do roles that didn't come naturally to me. But now in hindsight I think that confusion helped me pick Paa, Ishiqya and Chenaab Gandhi. It's gratifying to know today directors think of me for specific roles and not just as one of many choices."
A lot is being said about Vidya's aesthetic clothes in Paa. "All thanks to Sabysachi Chakraborty. I think he understood my body language and my personality perfectly. And he dressed me up beautifully without overstepping the parameters of my character."
A magical smile and hypnotic eyes, Vidya Balan is known to be an exceptional performer who carries each character with such ease and beauty that it stays with you long after the show is over.
