Kareena Kapoor is worth Rs 10 crores
Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 2 Dec 2009 | 8:24 am Live Chat: Sameera Reddy December 4 at 1600 hrs ISTShe is hot, hotter, and the hottest! She is someone for whom the words like 'grace', 'poise' and 'stylish' seem like an understatement. She is none other than Sameera Reddy, the very name that symbolises perfection to the core, in whatever she does. Even though her debut romance with the camera was in the Pankaj Udhas' music video 'Aahista Aahista', her climb on the success ladder was anything but 'Aahista'. A gradual though but-obvious step, this lady took her giant leap from doing music videos to films with Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, a film that gave Bollywood its very own all-rounder, who is not just a stunner, but also can act exceptionally well. She was recently seen in the season's blockbuster De Dana Dan. Sameera Reddy will be live with you guys on December 4 at 1600 hrs IST on Bollywood Hungama's Celebrity Chat. Make sure you tune in or simply be left out.Source: Indiafm.com News | 2 Dec 2009 | 7:33 am Kareena Kapoor spotted as the new Spider Woman
She is everywhere: on the hoardings, the bus shelters, not to mention of the TV and radio media, the internet, the newspapers. Well, if you are wondering as to whom are we referring to, wonder no further, as we are indeed referring to the 'Wonder-Girl' Kareena Kapoor, the Gen-Next Diva, who is not just the Numero Uno in Bollywood, but also has replicated the same status in the ad world too.
After selling anything and everything from colas to soaps, Kareena, this time round, is all set to promote the Chronotech range of watches (something that Bollywood Hungama had reported few days back) in a very dashingly different manner. This is one brand of watch, which has the gorgeous Kapoor chic dressed up as never before! As a part of the promotions, readers might recall that Kareena was earlier seen as the cute and sexy little mermaid. In continuation to the same series, this bomb-shell power house is all to prowl over the city as the spider woman. Considering her 'Killer Instinct' looks in the posters, one wonders about the saying 'If the looks could kill' and all that, holds any water!
We wonder what do the watch makers have in store for us, after making Kareena as the spider-woman. Can it be an Angel, or sayâ¦well, why don't we leave it up to your imaginations! You never know the wonder girl might just do a wonder on you!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 2 Dec 2009 | 7:06 am I would love to have Ash as Mumtaz: Kingsley

Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 2 Dec 2009 | 4:59 am Aamir, Sharman and Madhavan get drunk on the sets of 3 Idiots
By now its common knowledge that Aamir Khan is a perfectionist to the core. The cast and crew of 3 Idiots got a first hand experience of this during the shooting of the film. For a particular scene in the film, the trio of Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and R. Madhavan had to be shown drunk. It was a night shoot and Aamir suggested that they actually get drunk to make it look more authentic. Poor Sharman and Maddy had no choice but to listen to their senior co-star.
Soon the trio started drinking and within few minutes were in their element completely. Director Rajkumar Hirani was happy with the way actors were giving their takes and wanted to shoot various options to choose the best. After taking a few retakes, the unit realized that they had run out of reel in the middle of night. When Raju Hirani got to know about it, he was worried because he didn't want this shoot to extend for another day and didn't want the cast to get drunk again.
The production team went all out hunting for the reel to check if any other film was being shot in the vicinity and if they could borrow some reels from them. Fortunately for them, there was a regional film being shot and the director of the film was more than happy to help Rajkumar Hirani with reels. Finally the team managed to get a reel to wrap up the shoot. After this interesting incident they surely much have said 'Aal Izz Well that ends well'.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 2 Dec 2009 | 4:58 am Playback singer M G Sreekumar to be honoured

Guess where Himesh will be on Friday afternoon? Not checking out the collections of his own release Radio, but glued to Paa in a theatre close to him. And no power on earth can change a rule that Himesh has been following from his childhood of watching every Bachchan flick on the day of release. Himesh Reshammiya is going ahead with the unthinkable. He's releasing his new starrer Radio along with the Bachchans' Paa. But there's no feeling of competition. On the contrary, Himesh is a self-confessed ardent fan of the Big B and that remains unchanged. "I've always been a diehard fan of Bachchan saab... I've to watch all his films first day first show. Paa is no exception. And so what if my own film is releasing side by side?" Himesh says he's ecstatic to have his film release on the same day as Paa. "I'm honoured to be pitted against my idol Bachchan saab. I'm also scared. But I'm sure both the films will do well." Himesh wants the Big B to watch Radio immediately. She has won every award worthy of her stature including the highest civilian honour the Bharat Ratna in our country. Yet, when the French displaying impeccably good taste as always decide to confer their highest cultural award the Officier de la Legionne d'Honneur on Lata Mangeshkar, she humbly bows to another acknowledgement of God's generosity.
"I don't know why God continues to shower his largesse on me when I've reached an age when I've received more love and honour than any human deserves. But the French are a class act. And I feel doubly honoured to be chosen by them."
Lataji will be getting the award at an event at a suburban hotel in Mumbai on December 2. "It would be part of the French Film Festival that's being held next week. They've sent me some invites which I've given to people very close to me. The rest of the film industry, I've no idea about. I know I've the industry's blessings, though."
Among the invitees to witness Lataji's French honour, Amitabh Bachchan is also expected to attend, though the premiere of his home production in on the very next day (December 3).
Earlier, the Big B received the same award at a function in Delhi last year, though he was conferred the award after Lataji. Says the Nightingale, "Actually, I got this French honour three years back. But I was in no condition to receive it. I was actually on drips when I was informed about the award. Now when I had completely forgotten about it, they called to say they're giving me the award on December 2. I thought they had forgotten about it too," she laughs her still-girlish laughter, and adds, "Actually I think it was my Rakhi-brother Shivaji Ganesan who was the first Indian artiste to be given the Legionne d Honneur. Then came me and Amitabhji."
Must say the French have good taste. Laughing at the observation, Lataji says, "People say recognition has no meaning beyond a certain stage in one's growth as an artiste. Radio arrives in a couple of days from now and along with Shenaz Treasuryvala, Sonal Sehgal is one of the two leading ladies opposite Himesh Reshammiya. In a conversation with Joginder Tuteja, Sonal is happy to declare that Radio is a film made mainly for class audience, how she can very much relate to the subject of the film and whether the film actually goes on to narrate ground reality.
Looking at the storyline of Radio, it seems to be pretty much exploring the complexities in today's relationships. Is that true?
Absolutely. In fact I see something like this happening all around with me with my friends. When the film's script came to me, I was like 'wow, finally there is somebody who is making a film like this'. The film makes a statement that 'Wake up guys, smell the coffee'. Radio comes with the kind of subject that everybody is waiting for. Something like this has never happened in Bollywood. It tells people to take a real look into relationships.
But when two good looking women come together, there is bound to be some competition?
Aah, you are hell bent on creating a war here (laughs). When I say there was nothing wrong between Shenaz and me, it's a fact. You may question on our dressing style and all. Perhaps one can even sit and fight that why are my clothes different from hers. But then look at it this way, my character is mostly seen in the house while Shenaz is in a radio station. So obviously I would be in my tank tops and shorts while she would be more dressed up. (Smiles) I can't fight with the director that why have you given her a pretty dress. One has to think logically.

It was, after all, his first ever film festival. Sunil Shetty who attended the 40th International Film Festival in Goa on Saturday for the screening of his new film Red Alert, has reluctantly chosen to play the professional instead of a family man for once. Explains Sunil, "I had to choose between attending my screening in Goa and going for my father-in-law's 80th birthday celebration in the US. My wife and her entire family, who are like my own family, is there. I am like a son in my wife's family. Moreover, ever since my father-in-law lost his wife he hasn't been himself. It was a heartbreaking decision. But one that my wife helped me to make."
Sunil's father-in-law turns 80 this week. And it is a very special occasion especially for a family-oriented man like Sunil.
"But I had to be in Goa for the screening of Red Alert on Saturday (28 November). The film was a sell-out at all the screens in Goa. The film is being recognized at international film festivals. I think the goras are very keen to know about the naxalite movement. They've heard about other forms of unrest across the world. But naxalism is new to them."
Sunil is also excited because he has never attended a film festival before. "Goa is my first film festival. Can you believe it? In all these years I've never been to a film festival in my life! I wasn't there earlier this month at the South Asian International Film Festival in New York where I won the Best Actor Award for my performance in Red Alert. This time I had to be there for my festival."
Sunil whose realistic performance as a naxalite in Red Alert is getting him critical applause is also pleased with the response to his just-released no-brainer De Dana Dan. "It is a full-on paisa-wasool Priyadarshan film. And we've all given our sweat and blood to it."
Sunil had a major accident while shooting the climax which kept him bedridden for months. "The chest region is still not fully healed. But like I said De Dana Dan was a whole lot of fun. Then I've another comedy Anees Bazmee's No Problem coming up. I think I am finally done with making mistakes in my career."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 1 Dec 2009 | 3:40 am Karan Johar signs Rensil for next film with UTVNotwithstanding the box office failure of Kurbaan, Karan Johar, Rensil D'Silva and UTV Motion Pictures would be making another movie together. In fact, work has already begun on the scripting of the film and Karan has declared that the trio has a point to prove this time around. "At Dharma Productions, one of the prime virtues is that of loyalty. Our track record shows that. I have never doubted Rensil's capability even though the film hasn't worked at the box office. This doesn't stop me from having him direct another film for my production house. Similarly, our association with UTV has been great too. I am thrilled with the kind of support they gave to Wake Up Sid and Kurbaan. This is why it is imperative that we all come together again", says Karan Johar. After Kurbaan, Karan admits that quite a few lessons have been learnt and he is sure that they won't be repeated. He comments, "With our next outing together, we have to prove to one and all that we can come up with not just a critically acclaimed film but also a commercial success. I have in fact already told Rensil to go ahead with his next film. I am sure he would be rocking again and come up with a quality outing." Kurbaan, although a well made film, saw some brickbats coming it's way due to it's serious theme and stark execution. Looking at the film's fate, is the team of Karan, Rensil and UTV looking at playing safe and coming up with an out and out commercial outing? Or are they still going to follow an offbeat route? "It is not in Rensil's DNA to play to the gallery", smiles Karan, "He is not into quintessential routine Hindi cinema. Yes, he would be making something unique this time around too though the bottom line would be to keep things commercially viable for sure."Source: Indiafm.com News | 1 Dec 2009 | 3:20 am Aamir, Katrina launch coffee table book on Hindi cinemaAamir Khan and Katrina Kaif have launched 'Cine Blitz Gold Love and Longing in the Hindi Cinema', a coffee table book that pays tribute to the Hindi film industry. Owing to popular demand, 'Gale Lag Ja' - the rain song and dance number featuring the lead pair of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif - has been added to the film's narrative. Though this much hyped song had created quite some buzz en route to the release of De Dana Dan, it was chopped off from the final copy of the print since it was adding to the film's length. However, the makers of De Dana Dan were open to the idea of incorporating the song as an added bonus if audiences demanded so and the film worked at the box office. With weekend collections being quite strong worldwide, the final call was taken around bringing back the song in the narrative. Confirms Ratan Jain, producer of De Dana Dan, "We were clear that the song would be added only if the film did well at the box office. There was no point doing that if (God forbid) people wouldn't have been going into theatres. Now that the weekend collections are out, we know that there would be repeat audiences for the film. For them, it would be another incentive to watch the film again while for the first timers, it's an added bonus." Since the film's running length is a little less than 3 hours already, would the incorporation of song be of any further impact? "No", says Jain, "The length of De Dana Dan is still the same. To compensate for those 4-5 minutes of the added song, we have edited an equal duration of a few scenes from the film." 'Gale Lag Ja' would now appear in the first half of the film at the point when Akshay calls Katrina to the hotel in order to share the kidnapping plan and then run away with the ransom amount. Meanwhile, Ratan Jain is ecstatic with the kind of collections that the film is showing with every passing day. "Saturday and Sunday were far better than Friday while Monday was more or less similar to Friday, which is superb", he says, "Normally, films fall quite rapidly on Monday but we have stayed on very stable grounds. The collections are superb overseas as well, whether in UK, Gulf or elsewhere. In India, we have seen Rs. 23 crores coming in just from the weekend which is superb.
