Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 27 Nov 2009 | 7:19 am Konfident Kareena on Vogue Cover
Vogue has always been known as the fashion bible across the globe, their cover pages are ones to behold. The December issue of Vogue India sees a striking Kareena Kapoor all in white, with signature kohl lined eyes looking more than just beautiful, pretty or sensuous, in fact she looks confident, enthralling and a complete superstar. It's what's behind the picture that makes this Kareena Kapoor cover page special than the one she did before with Vogue. The editor herself says, "When Kareena did her first Vogue cover with us; she was coming into her own and was clearly on the cusp of stardom. But the Kareena on the cover of our December issue is a full blown star - a more confident and grown up version of that girl before. Whether she is modelling the season's most glamorous party dresses or making candid confessions on her life's essentials, she does it with a spontaneity and spirit that is as beguiling as dazzling."
In conversation with Vogue, Kareena shares her love for food, Saif and her family. If you're wondering what's different, here's an excerpt to give you the drift, talking about Saif and herself, Kareena said, "Saif and I are mirror images. Like me, he's a bit eccentric. We are very similar and that works for us. Of course, if both of us are in a bad mood, then I have to be the mature one, even though he is 10 years older. I think that's a woman thing. That's why we are so special." Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 27 Nov 2009 | 3:22 am Akshay-Katrina's steamy song 'Gale Lag Ja' missing from De Dana Dan?
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif share blockbuster chemistry in the De Dana Dan steamy number 'Gale Lag Ja'. But for all
the eager fans hoping to soak-in the fireworks, there's a twist in the tale. "I am keeping the song away for a little time. It will come in the theatres maybe after three or four days. It's my bonus," says director Priyadarshan who is very confident that the film will strike Platinum at the Box Office.
De Dana Dan is a very important film for Akshay considering that his last four releases of the year, Chandni Chowk To China, Tasveer 8X10, Kambakkht Ishq and Blue have failed to add luster to his career. But the positive reports carried by De Dana Dan may just help him end the year on a high. "I believe I'm a part of Akshay's success. And I strongly believe that he has always stood with me and I've paid him back. This time also I'm 100% sure that I'll pay him back. I have had only one actor like him in my life and that is Mohanlal. He never asked me any time what are you doing with me. He never even asked me what the story of the film was. When someone trusts you like that then you have to pay it back. I have tried hard to do that and I hope God will be with me," says Priyadarshan.

De Dana Dan releases today and Akshay Kumar is happy to talk about a variety of topics revolving around him, his work and his personal life. Whether it is his superstar status, underperformance of Blue, friends in the industry, the games people play, the Friday suspense, diplomatic stands, detractors - Akshay talks about all of this and a lot more in a candid conversation with Joginder Tuteja.
Even though Blue and Kambakkht Ishq took a very good opening, there have been questions around your superstar status. Doesn't that bother you?
There will always be questions around my 'Super Star' status. This honour/ label doesn't come with a box of marshmallows and a trophy; this label comes with a few slaps from some rotten fish and a dead mouse in your bed nearly every Friday.
Talking about opening, Blue took a very good start when it released this Diwali. In fact it was one of the best ever. However, by your own high standards, it underperformed. Have you tried analyzing the reason?
Oh, I could analyze the movie until the cows come home. No movie is perfect, even the best ones for that matter. I know what could have been better and I know what to work on but as of now, that's between the director and his actor. To my high standards it was Bollywood's best attempt at an underwater adventure and no one can take that away from the film. The rest, I agree, is questionable, but that entirely depends upon whether you are the type to walk into a theatre and rip movies apart for the sake of it. Or whether you just like to enjoy good cinema!
Meanwhile, you don't seem to be having too many friends in the industry though. It seems like they are waiting for a movie of yours to crash so that they can attack you. Any thoughts?
Let's be cognizant of the fact that no one is anybody's friend in this industry. It's impossible actually, and everyone knows it. People befriend people to get somewhere in life. This is not a dig, it's purely human nature. "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine, now come over for dinner while I charm you and your wife" - this is how every industry works.

Source: Entertainment - Google News | 27 Nov 2009 | 3:08 am Aamir Khan takes one year break, won't sign any films
It looks like it will be another year at least after 3 Idiots and his own home productions Dhobi Ghat and Delhi Belly before Aamir Khan will sign another new film.
Since the release of Ghajini in December 2008, Aamir has not signed on the dotted line for any project. In fact Aamir had decided to take one full year off after Ghajini to rejuvenate himself. After the tough physical and emotional preparation for Ghajini, Aamir just wanted to relax and spend time with his wife and children.
That's precisely what he has done for the last one year. But now Aamir would be taking one more year off. This next one year would be devoted to putting his three home productions in order.
Says a source, "Aamir had earlier decided to take one year off. But now he has decided to extend his sabbatical by one more year. Filmmakers who have approached him with projects have been told that Aamir intends to take approximately one more year to supervise the post-production and final look of the three films that he has produced in 2009, namely Abhinay Deo's Delhi Belly, Anushka Rizvi's The Falling and Aamir's wife Kiran Rao's Dhobi Ghat."
Aamir feels, all three projects need serious fine-tuning and have been delayed because he has been busy finishing and promoting 3 Idiots.
Says the source, "The only way Aamir feels his three productions can be completed and released in 2010 is if he sets aside all his own acting assignments to look into them. So he isn't signing any films in 2010 either."
Says the source, "It requires guts to say no to the best roles going around in Bollywood, and at a reported fee of approximately Rs 30 crores per film. But Aamir suffers no security pangs about not signing films. He told a friend he will work at his own pace, no matter what the temptation or provocation to take on extra work may be."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 27 Nov 2009 | 3:04 am Corporate houses more transparent over film funding: M.S. Have the wounds healed already? Have we forgotten the terror, the shock, the pain and the enormity of the loss borne by each and every Indian at some level? It is the first anniversary of the 26/11 tragedy, but the question remains if the attacks left us any wiser. The resilient spirit of Mumbai - one that is boasted of time and again - come bomb blasts, floods or terrorist attacks, are we still just as proud of it? Chandni Dev of Bollywood Hungama brings to you the film fraternity's message to every Mumbaikar and Indian who is still reeling from the scars of the ghastly event, and what the celebrities think about the ever praised spirit of Mumbai.
Anupam Kher:
"I only hope that as a nation we are better prepared for the future. This tragedy should be a reality check for us. Anger and depression is fair but we need to take a moment and think about all those who have lost their life in the face of the terror attack.
Resilience is our need. It's a natural reaction. A common man has to go out and earn his living. But at the same time it's important to remember the wounds."
Anjana Sukhani:
"A lot has been said and heard, mostly said. I hope the people who have lost their lives, may their souls rest in peace.
I think resilient nature of Mumbai is pathetic. It's time to step up and take action. Enough of being quiet about it. I don't respect resilience, it's time to kick a$$"
Chitrangda Singh:
"I think we should not forget what happened, it's good to remember, but importantly we shouldn't remember what happened, but why it happened. Instead of blaming the government and authorities, we as people should be aware of our surroundings and not be consumed in ourselves.
I think it's good that Mumbai is resilient. I am not from Mumbai and I can feel the difference the minute I step into this city. I think its ability to bounce back shows how brave it is."
Zayed Khan:
"People of Mumbai should bring about a resolve to not be so lax and unprepared. It's important that a lesson is learnt from this experience, and going forward every Mumbaikar does his duty in whatever way possible. It doesn't have to be much just that when you see something or someone suspicious, inform the authorities. In a way play your part and be aware, it doesn't take anything from your pocket. Everyone can be a moral police.
Resilience makes sense when there is a natural calamity but it doesn't when it's a premeditated attack. I am not discounting the spirit of Mumbai, our country itself has an amazing spirit but to call getting back to life as resilience in the wake of a terror attack is an excuse. We shouldn't just move on instead but be intelligent about it. Terrorism is global in nature and we should constantly be aware."
Tusshar Kapoor:
"The people of the city must remember that ups and downs have the potential to crush you, but we need to be strong. Like they say tough times don't last but tough people do. There is a lesson that we can learn here and make sure that we take some measures. It's true as a country we don't invest enough on security. We ape the West in most things, I wonder why we don't when it comes to governance?
It's good that we have the ability to get back on our feet. No point in sulking and crying. But at the same time we need to fight for our rights. Forget what happened but don't forget the lesson. You can't bring the Titanic back but you can learn something from its sinking. Peace marches isn't a solution. I don't know what is, but some concrete measure needs to be taken."
Wajid Ali:
"We need to understand that we shouldn't be looking outside for help, but each one us should be strong from within. Instead of constantly giving into things we are becoming weak. Each one of us is busy in our own lives, filling up our pockets and being selfish. Authorities are doing what they should and I am sure they have learnt a lesson, but even as individuals we should be equally involved. Like they say khudi ko kar buland itna ki har taqdeer se pehle, khuda bande se khud poochhe bata teri raza kya hai.
People move on because they have no option. It's not because we are a strong city. To be honest we are all cowards, or else we all would've done something after this tragedy. People ask me how I feel. I don't know how to answer that. Maybe someone from my family didn't die in the tragedy but the people who lost their lives were mine. We are getting used to this, which is wrong. Don't get used to this. I hope this is a new beginning for all of us."
Aarti Chabria:
"Slowly and steadily change is coming. People are serious about the issues and about how we need to feel safe. People are becoming more patriotic. The light at the end of the tunnel is not too far, so instead of complaining we need to be more positive and learn to be more forgiving. It doesn't help to be adamant but we should welcome peace, since we are a peace loving country. I salute those who have lost their lives but do believe that authorities are doing their bit.
We can never move on and forget the loss. After all not just Mumbai but the whole country felt the pain. It's ok to move on but the pain will always be there."
Madhur Bhandarkar:
"We, the people of Mumbai have always seen calamity, but we always have maintained a fighting spirit. We can only hope that such a tragedy is never repeated, as many a life and property is lost. The only thing we can do is be prepared and fight. My heart goes out to all those who lost their precious lives, and hope that such an experience is never repeated.
We always say Mumbai doesn't stop. But I do hope there is much more awareness now. I can see there are better security measures being taken and as common people I suggest that moving on we are more alert and keep that hope alive"Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 26 Nov 2009 | 8:38 am Shah Rukh is a funny man: Amitabh BachchanBollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan says Shah Rukh Khan left him in a jovial mood after the latter called him to confirm his presence at the premiere of upcoming film "Paa".Source: Entertainment News | 26 Nov 2009 | 7:41 am Bhopal gas tragedy victims to 'expose' central, state governmentsAssociations of the victims of the December 1984 Bhopal gas leak Thursday launched a campaign to 'expose' those in the government working for the benefit of Dow Chemicals, the current owner of Union Carbide from whose plant the deadly gas had leaked out, killing and maiming thousands.Source: IndiaeNews.com: Bollywood News | 26 Nov 2009 | 7:08 am SRK pays midnight tribute to 26/11 heroes

Sameera Reddy became an epitome of oomph when she pulled all stops in Sanjay Gupta's Musafir. Ever since then she has
featured in variety of roles and worked across different genres. Last year she went for a complete change in image when she
took a comic route with Race and One Two Three, both being successful at the box office. Meanwhile, she also
balanced it all with a couple of offbeat Bengali films. As she gears up for the release of yet another comedy of hers, De Dana
Dan, she gets into a conversation with Joginder Tuteja and declares that in spite of Katrina Kaif being the leading
lady opposite Akshay Kumar, she is unperturbed as the film belongs to everyone from Akshay Kumar to Suniel Shetty as well as
Johny Lever.
In De Dana Dan, one sees you in a typical Priyadarshan setup where there is so much happening all around. You must
have had fun doing such a role...
I am a big fan of Priyadarshan and would have seen his Hera Pheri at least 10 times. I was longing to work with him
and when I was told that he wanted to rope me in, I was game for it. Of course I did ask him what did I have to do in the
film but then he said that he was clear in his mind about my part. He admitted that it would confuse me if he tried
explaining the story, its situations and the characters and hence just wanted me to be on the sets and take it up there.
The film also has Katrina Kaif opposite Akshay Kumar. Ever wondered that the focus would be entirely on them?
(Smiles) It's as simple as that. When you do a Priyan film, you don't worry about picture ka hero kaun dikhega aur heroine
kaun hogi. One just goes by the script requirement. Whether it is Johny Lever or Akshay Kumar, everyone has a definite
role to play in the film. And let's not forget the fact that when a film is a hit, everyone benefits. My own Race is a clear
example of that. I had to play a character which was akin to that of Kitty from Pankaj Kapoor's 'Karam Chand'. I went by my
instinct and did it. So was the case with this South film of mine which is making great waves.
Well, audiences seem to be pretty much looking forward to De Dana Dan. It appears to be creating good buzz at just the right time?
Over the weekend, I was in Delhi and then Udaipur and you should have seen the response there. Aam janta was coming and telling me that promos are interesting and they are expecting a lot from the film. They had a lot of good things to say which is fantastic. The song 'Paisa Paisa' is a hit not just up North but even in Chennai. I am travelling different cities for the promotion of the film and I can see the song rocking everywhere.
One hopes that Sameera too rocks, stays on to be oomphy as ever and keeps the glamour quotient bang on...
(Laughs) This is something that I promise I will never run away from. Despite doing a few offbeat films, I am absolutely comfortable with the glamorous side of mine and will keep coming back to it again and again. This is how a large segment of audiences wants to see me in as well. In any case, oomph can come in different ways. There are different variations to glamour. You can be seen in a Musafir mode or in a fun way, as was in the case of Race or now De Dana Dan.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 26 Nov 2009 | 5:58 am Bollywood Hungama contest winner gets lucky; wins 37" BenQ LCD TV
Aftab Shivdasani's latest film and his first as a producer Aao Wish Karein is a fairy tale about making wishes and believing in them. In keeping with the theme of the film, Bollywood

As Aftab removed a random chit from the bowl containing the names of the contest winners, the excitement in the room was phenomenal. However, when he actually announced the lucky winner's name it was Krishna Yelappa who in the room.

A one time successful model, Arjun Rampal's foray into films seemed like a natural transition. He made his debut with Moksha in 2001, but his initial years in Bollywood did not help him get recognised as a performer. It was really Rampal's second innings and clear dedication that gave him the much suited tag of a star performer.
Be it his villainous role in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om or his rocking performance as a rocker in Rock On, it's only a matter of time before Arjun will be counted among the cream of Bollywood. As is obvious that he has the making of a star, be it his good looks, a husky voice, and a series of acclaimed performances.
Married to a former Miss India and a gorgeous supermodel Mehr Jessia, and blessed with two daughters, Arjun is definitely professionally and personally a happy man. On that note we at Bollywood Hungama would like to wish Arjun Rampal, a very happy birthday. You too can send in your wishes by posting them below.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 26 Nov 2009 | 2:30 am 'Auro dance' caught on candid camera; to be used in music video
About 40 unsuspecting passersby and strangers of all ages on the streets of Mumbai were captured last week trying to ape the Big B's zany 'Monkey dance' steps on ad-maverick turned first-time filmmaker Balki's new music video which hopes to promote the by-now popular dance step from Paa among kids and grownups alike.
Apparently, it was Paa producer Abhishek Bachchan's idea to just go out on the road and capture people aping the Monkey step, expertly and clumsily but with genuine feeling. Reveals Balki, "The idea to record random people on candid camera doing Auro's steps did come from Abhishek. And I liked the idea immensely. Much better than getting a rehearsed group of enthusiasts to do the steps. We went out with the camera and found a surprisingly large number of people who were trying to do the Monkey Steps. We have them on camera as part of a music-video which we'll air on television soon. We're hoping they wouldn't mind being caught with their guards down."
The genesis of the Big B's Monkey Steps is interesting. Says Balki, "I wanted Auro to have his own peculiar dance steps, with King Kong's beating of the chest, etc. Our choreographers Bosco-Ceasar came up with the perfect little jig for Auro."
Interestingly, Shimit Amin's Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year has its own little jig billed as the 'Rocket Step' for Ranbir Kapoor.
So this December, it's the 67-year old Amitabh Bachchan's Monkey Steps vying for dance - space with 27-year old Ranbir Kapoor's Rocket Steps.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 26 Nov 2009 | 2:30 am
