The admirer's of Soha Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore are in a real treat. The mother-daughter duo has made their first appearance together on screen for a film called Life Goes On, by debutante director Sangeeta Dutta, which will be screened at the 11th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF).
Life Goes On which has the shadow of Shakespeare's King Lear bears on this contemporary and free adaptation. It works functionally as a sub-text in the film as we
see Sanjay and Dia within the contours of the mythical Lear and Cordelia.
The film is set in London and revolves around Sanjay (Girish Karnad), his deceased wife (Sharmila Tagore) and three daughters. His shattered life goes through more turmoil
when Dia (played by Soha Ali Khan) the youngest daughter falls in love with a Muslim man.
The 11th Mumbai Film Festival starts from 29th October to 5th November.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 24 Oct 2009 | 7:53 am John Abraham pushes 'haath gadi' on reality show
John Abraham, who's known to be a sports enthusiast, is rubbing of his love onto the contestants of 'Big Switch', the upcoming reality TV show. John, who is known to be big on bikes, did the most unlikely of things; he flagged off a haath gadi race for the contestants. Which, when you factor in the theme of
the show, should not be a big surprise. 'Big Switch' is not about fancy stuff like bikes, it's about simple living and surviving without material pleasures.
The show brings together 10 rich kids from across the country and pairs them up with the slum kids who act as buddies to them as they struggle to survive sans luxury. The event saw John in the company of Natasha Suri (ex Miss India) & Rekha (her partner), Pooja Misra (Model) & Shabana, Adam Bedi (Actor) & Bhavesh, Sunny Sara
(Industrialist) & Abhishek. John was like a morale booster for the contestants as he encouraged them to believe in their dreams.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 24 Oct 2009 | 7:22 am "My character in London Dreams has grey shades"- Ajay Devgn
After having started out as an action hero few years ago, today Ajay Devgn is a master of all genres be it action, romance, drama or comedy. His latest comic caper All The Best, which opened during the Diwali weekend, has struck gold at the B.O. and its no wonder then that Ajay (who is also the producer of the film) is laughing all the way to the bank.

Tired bored and impatient with traditional ways of promoting films, Vipul Shah has thought up a novel method of taking London Dreams to the audience.
Vipul is in the middle of arranging two open-air rock concerts at two venues Mumbai and Delhi next week, most probably on Oct 27 and Oct 28. The concerts will feature Ajay Devgan, Salman, Khan Asin in concert with musicians Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
The stars will perform in front of thousands of fans amidst the highest and most foolproof security bandobast.
Says Vipul, ''We don't want any security lapses. Our stars will be completely safe on stage. They will be performing not only to the songs from London Dreams. We're also looking at
staging some of Salman and Ajay's biggest hits.''
Bollywood stars have never gone on stage to perform at live rock concerts. Vipul corrects that perception, ''Recently a similar thing happened with Rock On when the entire cast performed live. Many years ago Mukul Anand got Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Salman Khan on stage for the promotion of Dus. So these London Dreams concerts will be deja vu for Salman.''
The stars have already started preparing for the two live concerts. While performing live for Salman is not a new experience, Ajay suffers from stage fright and has never done concert tours. He is making a special effort to face the roaring crowds in Mumbai and Delhi next week. Ajay has been getting used to crowds and feels he can do it.
Revealing plans for the twin explosions in the two metropolises, Vipul Shah says, ''It will be a huge event in both the cities. I am still to finalize the venues because we expect a turn-out of at least 3000 - 4000 people. It would be no-ticket free-entry affair, so you can call it priceless experiences.''
Vipul scoffs at tradition ways of promoting his film. ''In how many ways will Ajay and Salman be asked the same thing? Salman is invariably asked about Katrina and Shah Rukh Khan instead of the film. So I see no point in the traditional media interactions. Besides both the actors have done enough media in the last two months for their other films. Since London Dreams is about on-stage experiences the rock concerts seemed like a good idea.''
After the concerts in Mumbai and Delhi, Vipul intends to stage similar live performances in the other metropolises.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 24 Oct 2009 | 5:12 am Another victory for AR Rahman, Jai Ho!The Mozart of Madras has again won laurels for Jail Ho, at World Soundtrack Academy awards in Belgium. He is the only man in India who can get away with calling the President of America, Mr Barack Obama, a black man. Does anyone take him seriously? No. Yes, that's right. It's hard to say when he is and when he isn't. And to make a living, this is what he does best: as a comic actor, he tightropes between honesty and sarcasm and never falls: he does embarrassing things but he doesn't embarrass the audience; he's willing to make a fool of himself, but he never looks like a fool; and he mocks people and
phenomena for whom mockery is the highest tribute. After his best work, you don't just want to applaud-you want to wolf-whistle and hold a lighter up in the air. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent Devansh Patel spoke to Cyrus Broacha on the phone. For reasons unclear to me, he decided he should talk about sex, insanity, cricket, obsession of seeing Kunal Vijaykar in a saree and his fixation with the South Mumbai location and his hope to line
maro Dia Mirza some day. For some, he is a man with a funny bone, a cracked-up-in-his-head guy. And then there are those who call him their hero. I fall in the latter brigade.
Your second film after 99. You sure it's going to complete a ton?
No no no. I want to play this game and retire.
How nutty are you in real life?
Right now, it's difficult to say because I don't like men. I can't stand them. But as far as Kunal is concerned, he is definitely more fruity and nutty.
I'm sure this isn't the end of your acting career?
No re! Never. I want to work more in South Mumbai. I can't travel two hours everyday up and down, North to South. We shot 99 mostly in South Mumbai and half the film in Delhi. It's easier for me to get to Delhi than to travel all the way to Andheri and shoot. Kunal and I have the same habits. We both love to shoot in South Mumbai. My kids tell me, ''Daddy, you have to work''. I'm thinking, when I didn't have them, I was working to have them. When I have them, it's still the same.

After striking gold at the B.O. earlier this year, Sajid Nadiadwala's Akshay Kumar- Kareena Kapoor starrer Kambakkht Ishq has added yet another feather to its cap. Hardly has the awards season begun and the film has bagged an award for 'Best Locations' at Locations' 09 - the World's first Film Tourism Annual Exhibition and Award function.
The award was presented to director Sabbir Khan at a function in Mumbai earlier this week. Elated at bagging this honour, Sabbir said, "I am very happy Kambakkht Ishq is continuing to bag laurels even months after its release, that the effort put in to exploit a location authentically and grandiosely has been appreciated and awarded. It was indeed an overwhelming experience collecting this award in front of many industry stalwarts."
Kambakkht Ishq was among the few Bollywood films which was majorly shot at some prominent locations around LA and in Italy. The makers even shot at the world famous Kodak Theatre- home to the Academy awards each year.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 24 Oct 2009 | 3:34 am Jessica coming to India - Hindustan Times

In what could be a case of another online identity theft in Bollywood, one Facebook ID is generating big buzz on the internet. There is speculation that a Facebook profile called 'Pucca Idiott' is really Aamir Khan and the actor is making friends with people under this pseudonym.
The information reads that he is Akash Malhotra (his character's name in Dil Chahta Hai) and lives in Bandra in Mumbai. His interests are badminton and tennis and Calvin and Hobbes is his favorite comic. These details are indicators that it may be Bollywood's very own perfectionist, Aamir Khan himself.
The profile is very active and Pucca Idiott has been interacting with people as a Facebook pro and already has 918 friends at the last count. The posts are coming at odd hours but very regularly, which include those ranging from the polite and adulating to the most bizarre ones. Sample this: "aamir diid u read my interesting story, reply plz?"

The much awaited question was finally popped, and what better time to do it than the auspicious day of Diwali. Our very own Shilpa Shetty is going to be all taken and engaged officially. Her London based beau Raj Kundra, who she has been dating ever since she stepped out of the Big Brother's house, has finally asked her the big question and she of course was more than happy to relent.
Saturday being a lucky day according to the Hindu calendar, the couple has therefore decided to go ahead with the ceremony and celebrations tomorrow at Raj Kundra's Juhu residence. The not so good news is that sister Shamita will have to probably miss out on big sister's grand moment considering she is in the Bigg Boss house.

The industry is abuzz wondering whether Shilpa would be saying adios to Bollywood post marriage. To put all stops to such talk, Raj has already made his intentions public. John never had to work as hard as he did to get it right for Abbas Tyrewala's 1: 800 Love. Interestingly, a large part of the drama unfolds through telephonic conversations in this film, just like in Abbas' previous film, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na.
And every actor knows emoting on the phone is one of the most difficult forms of acting. Says the 1: 800 Love director, Abbas Tyrewala, "It's a challenge for the most seasoned of actors. A lot of the relationship between John and Pakhi (John's co-star and also the director's wife) unfolds on the telephone. It was tough. But Pakhi insisted on being on the sets in London to give cues even when John alone was doing all the telephonic talk. That made it far easier. She was providing him the cues while he delivered his lines on the phone."
Abbas isn't sure yet how he's going to edit all the telephonic conversation in his film. But split screens showing the man and the woman talking to each other from separate places are out. "That's the easy way out. I'll have to find a way to show continuity in John and Pakhi's conversations without resorting to gimmicks. But I've to hand it to John. He surrendered completely to the part and he has come out with a performance that's completely unexpected. Dare I say 1: 8 00 Love is a new beginning for John."
Abbas tries to assess his wife's performance dispassionately. "She was always an actress. But she's also my wife. So I was very nervous. Luckily, Pakhi has turned out to be everything that we expected her to be."
A lot has been made out of the fact that Pakhi has acted in a comedy Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai earlier. But Abbas is nonchalant about it. "We never hid the fact that she acted as Punarnava Mehta in Yeh Ka Ho Raha Hai. Then she went to Darjeeling to be school teacher. I got her back and I persuaded her to return to acting. She was born to be an actress."
Many times while shooting 1: 800 Love Abbas was stricken by déjà vu. "It was like going back to Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. The hero is introduced to the audience on the phone in both. Then when I shot a scene in a pub with John, it turned out exactly like a pub scene between Genelia and Ayaaz Khan in Jaane Tu. Just goes to prove, directors apparently keep making variations on the same idea all their career."
The London schedule went off without a hitch. "One of the actors Rohn was initially denied a visa. I insisted we can't work without him. Thank God."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 23 Oct 2009 | 3:49 am Now I'm just a credit title: Amitabh BachchanHe sleeps for "four to five hours" a day, burns the midnight oil to blog and has a packed shooting schedule.Source: Entertainment News | 23 Oct 2009 | 3:05 am
