Cannavaro set to join Italy despite doping case

The coach of Italy's national team says captain Fabio Cannavaro will join the squad as scheduled Sunday despite failing a doping test. Cannavaro's club team Juventus has said the failed test was the result of cortisone used to treat a bee sting. CONI anti-doping prosecutor Ettore Torri is still due to rule on the case. "The case was blown out of proportion, but it's over now," Italy's coach Marcello Lippi said Friday. "Will he be with us Sunday? Yes, certainly.
