India's largest music company T-Series has taken yet another giant leap in the world of music. T-series is pioneering the concept of making music available in form of pen drives and micro chips with India's first underwater action thriller Blue starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta in lead roles. Blue, which has music composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman, would be the first Bollywood film to have its music released simultaneously on the physical and digital platforms. T-Series is releasing the music of the film in partnership with South Asia's largest digital entertainment company Hungama Digital Media Pvt. Ltd.
The promos of Blue have already created waves both in India and internationally and the 'Chiggy Wiggy' track featuring international pop star Kylie Minogue is a rage. The digital music release will allow eager Bollywood & Kylie Minogue fans to access the much awaited soundtrack of the film directly on their mobile phones and digital music devices. The music of Blue is now available under the T-Series label globally.
Expressing his delight over the launch, A. R. Rahman said, "It's a great idea for the movie industry and I was very excited when I heard about the digital release of the music. Anything new is exciting for people and those, who believe in owning legitimate music, would be excited by this product. It is also a gate opener for future expansions, because right now the music is going to have MP3 quality and then in future it could have more high quality WAV files like 96 k, 24 bit and people will definitely enjoy probably four times better than a CD quality of music. So this is a great starting point."
This initiative to release the music of the film on the digital platform first is being seen by the Indian music industry as a major step towards combating piracy and illegal downloads. Commenting on this pioneering kind digital initiative for a Bollywood film, Neeraj Roy, MD & CEO, Hungama Digital Media said, "Releasing the music of the film on the digital platform simultaneously has several positive implications for consumers, for record labels and for the Indian music industry. The digital platform will allow Bollywood fans across the world to access the music from a device that is always with them- the mobile phone. It will also ensure content is protected, thereby enabling the industry to mitigate losses incurred by the entertainment industry due to piracy."
Adding to this, Bhushan Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, T-Series said, "The digital platform has become a widespread medium to consume entertainment. India too is seeing a rapid growth of mobile phone and internet users. Keeping this in mind, the digital platform is perfect for the music release of a film like Blue which has already been popularized, in India and internationally, for the music compositions of A. R. Rahman including the hit single with Kylie Minogue. Amongst the many benefits of the digital music launch, the most significant one for us as a music label is a big step towards giving consumers legitimate content and curbing piracy of our content."
The digital distribution of the music is done by Hungama Digital Media across the internet and mobile.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 17 Sep 2009 | 6:55 am Official trailer of MJ's This Is It movie

Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 17 Sep 2009 | 5:24 am "I'll wrap my work in Return Gift & move on to Chenab Gandhi" - Rajeev Khandelwal
Rajeev Khandelwal has a lot of preparation to do for his next two films, Sourabh Narang's Return Gift and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Chenab Gandhi. While for Bhansali's film he needs to get fluent in Urdu and familiar with the pre-Partition era, the preparation for Narang's film is even more complex and elaborate.
Rajeev can't wait for his reality show to end so he could embark on his big-screen preparations. Interestingly in spite of the show's popularity there's no mention of a second season for Rajeev. "For now, this is it," he says tersely.
For Return Gift in which Rajeev plays an Indian bureaucrat on a mission to Pakistan Rajeev will have to meet bureaucrats from both sides of the border to understand the intricacies of across-the-border diplomacy.
"I can't just go into the part unprepared. It's a character that has far-reaching relevancies. I'll be meeting eminent bureaucrats to understand the workings of the Indian bureaucracy and the complex issue of Indo-Pak relations."
For all of this Rajeev needs time off. Sach Ka Saamna hardly gives him that space. In fact it now threatens to crowd him even more. Rajeev Khandelwal has a problem. And it's got to do with his hair. Before he goes into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production Chenab Gandhi Rajeev has allotted dates to Sourabh Narang's Return Gift which requires him to play an Indian civil servant on a diplomatic mission.
And everyone knows IAS officers are supposed to sport close-cropped hair. But Sanjay's film requires Rajeev to have very long hair.
Says Rajeev, "In fact one of the reasons why Mr. Bhansali selected me was because of my hair. I had grown it really long and curly for my role as a Goan beach bum in Peter Gaya Kaam Se. Mr. Bhansali saw that look and thought it was what he wanted for his assistant Vibhu Puri's film. That's how I was considered."
Having bagged the coveted role, Rajeev was clearly told the hair remains.
Says Rajeev, "I was in a dilemma since Sourabh's film needed me to keep my hair short. And there was no time to cut my hair and grow it back. So I was left with no choice but to ask Sourabh to work his way around my hair."
Apparently Rajeev will now wear a cropped wig to look the Bureaucrat's part.
Says Rajeev, "All I'll say is, I won't look wrong for the part."
Laughs Rajeev, "For the privilege of working with Mr Bhansali, I'd happily go bald. He's one of the best filmmakers of our country. Although he isn't directing Chenab Gandhi his involvement with the project is full-on. I'll wrap my work in Return Gift and move on to Chenab Gandhi. The thought of sharing screen space with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan so early in my career gives me goose-bumps."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 17 Sep 2009 | 5:15 am Ajay, Akshaye tone up for caste war in Priyan's filmAjay Devgan and Akshaye Khanna will be seen in dramatic fight scenes in Priyadarshan's hard-hitting tale of honour killing set in Bihar.Source: Entertainment News | 17 Sep 2009 | 4:51 am Dancing With The Stars to honour Patrick Swayze - Oneindia

Someone has been impersonating Katrina Kaif on Twitter and the actress shooting in Bhopal is not amused at all.
"Something has to be done to stop this sort of vandalism. I am not on Twitter or any other social networking website. I plan to start my own website by the end of the year."
Katrina Kaif doesn't believe in half-measures. It comes as no surprise to know that she intends to start her own website after months of research, preparation and build- up before the internet's most 'hit' girl delves deeply into her own domain.
The actual launch will be by the end of the year. "I don't want this to be something I start and then leave to others to take care of. Of course there will be professional employed to oversee my website. But I'll be picking and choosing all the material and pictures that go into it."
Katrina's website is being launched with maximum care. Katrina wants it to be a one-stop all-purpose stopover for all her fans on the net. Other websites using her pictures and quotes without proper consent would have to face legal consequences.
Considering she's the most searched and googled Bollywood actress, surely telescoping and restricting the inflow of information and pictures would be tough.
Says Katrina, "My website will be comprehensive. It will have my exclusive pictures. In fact I'll be doing photo sessions done specially by me. It will also have pictures taken by me on my sets and on location."
What Katrina's website won't have is accounts and reports on her day-to-day activities. "I don't think it's cool to let people know where I am or what I'm doing throughout the day. I'm not on any of the social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. I guess my life is no an open Facebook," she puns.
The design colours and format for her website are ready. "I looked at several designs presented to me. Then I saw a British actress' website which I quite liked, though it was too dark for my personality. My website will be fun, feisty, bubbly and colourful, to go with my image."
Katrina's website has been designed by her sister's boyfriend and two professional designers from Great Britain.
"There's nothing haphazard and everything official about it," she chuckles.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Sep 2009 | 11:09 am I am already married: John Abraham
Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 16 Sep 2009 | 10:40 am "Acid Factory is a Cape Town classic" - Manoj Bajpai
Its five minutes into Acid Factory before it dawns on me that I've seen this psycho somewhere. Oh yes, he played one in Aks and Road too. Before that, he did play a bit of it in Satya too, though it was a compressed version. But he's also Manoj Bajpai, although it takes another five minutes before I accept that this must be true. Yes, it was meant to be. He ain't a pretty boy with a sardonic smile; he ain't a pin-up either. He is just a guy who only knows how to act. He has an edge and a magnetic charm that attracts directors so that they can cast him and every time he is cast, he gives a performance of his life. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent meets a man with a heart of steel. The only difference is, it doesn't pump blood, it pumps acting.
Is Acid Factory all about style and no substance?
What makes you think that? It's a very unique story with a unique plot. Yes, action is a part of it and style is an integral part of it because you can't do away with it when you're working for a White Feather Film Production. And yes, they present all their male and female actors very beautifully. Acid Factory is a Cape Town classic.
Can we relate to any of the characters in the film? Today's cinema needs to be believable. Don't you think so?
I think you've got it all wrong. If the story is good, executed and performed beautifully. Each and every department falls in place. If the story doesn't work, your actors don't work; then what's the point in having a film that is realistic and makes you believe in. I mean, there is nothing to believe. So many films after Satya wanted to capture the essence of Mumbai, but they all failed miserably. So you have to be sincere to your script and everything starts falling in place.
You've worked with risk takers like Ram Gopal Varma in Satya, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in Aks, you've worked on Shool, Road and now Acid Factory and Rajneeti.
Satya happened and people loved it. It became successful because the story was narrated beautifully. Not only that, for the first time people were watching the dons of Mumbai walking and talking realistically. Satya also happened because Shekhar Kapur's Bandit Queen happened. So Ramu was quite inspired by it. He wanted to make a similar kind of film on the underworld. Thus Anurag Kashyap happened to the film, Saurabh Shukla happened to the film, Allan Amin came into the film. So many new talents came into the film that all wanted to prove themselves and wanted to kill it in the first go itself. The risk paid off and after Satya I kept on looking
for the risk takers and challengers.
I'm sure you must've made some mistakes too?
Yes I have and I wouldn't like to name the films nor the directors. I admit that those were my choices and I went wrong somewhere. But there are very few films which went wrong and that is good.
Do you learn the good from the bad?
You never learn anything in life and that's my theory. You encounter the same second chances in different disguise. The film is the same but it has a different form all together. It may be bad but may turn up good for you.
What is that?
I still remember one Hindi newspaper wanted me to travel to Lucknow and Kanpur for a special screening of Satya. I was supposed to be present there as they were offering themselves as the sponsors for that screening. Ramu thought that it's a bulls*** thing. I thought it's a great idea. So I carried my own film to Lucknow and Kanpur, used to stand inside the projector room, monitor the loading and the unloading and then I used to go to the audience and talk with them about the film. Then I went to Patna too. I travelled all alone because Ramu wasn't aware of such an exercise as he did not believe in it.
You like giving names to your characters too, don't you?
Yes I do but who told you that? I love names. I love to give some relevant names to my characters. Each and every name has to have some reason. I have given the name 'Mhatre' to 'Bhiku'. 'Bhiku' was Ramu's choice and 'Mhatre' was my choice. Samar Pratap Singh of Shool was my choice too. I proudly say this. I've also given the name to my character in Kaun. Though his name is only pronounced once in the film. I gave the name 'Sameer' because he is like a wind. He comes from somewhere and he wants to blow inside. He is trying to find his way inside.
Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 16 Sep 2009 | 10:20 am Vidya Malvade replaces Urvashi Sharma in Aap Ke Liye Hum
The game of musical chairs that has been plaguing the Jaya Bachchan-Raveena Tandon-Ayesha Takiya-Madhavan starrer Aap Ke Liye Hum has finally ended.
Urvashi Sharma who was supposed to play Ranvir Shorey's wife has been replaced by Vidya Malvade, last seen as Sanjay Dutt's wife in Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap.
But the battle it seems has just begun. While the director Revathy S Varma accuses Urvashi of un-professionalism the young actress isn't sitting idle either. She has her own story to tell. ''I can't understand how I can be accused of un-professionalism when the makers of this film have been the most unprofessional. Their very first cheque bounced even before the first schedule. This wouldn't happen to Jayaji's cheque because she's a legend, or Raveena Tandon or Ayesha Takia because they're both established names. Only my cheque bounced. Why?''
Urvashi however absolves the director of all blame. ''I've nothing against Revathy. I blame the producers for being so unprofessional.''
In the meanwhile there's another twist to the tale with the director accusing Sonal Chauhan of spreading false rumours and causing problems for the project.
Says Revathy, ''Sonal was never approached for Ayesha's role. She was asked to do Urvashi's role. When she opted out we asked Priyanka Kothari who loved the character. But somehow it didn't work out. Now we've got Vidya Malvade to do it. I wish people would let me make my film in peace. Urvashi behaved as though she's a big star. We couldn't really afford her tantrums.''Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Sep 2009 | 9:26 am Anupam Kher invited to speak at Cambridge University
After having put Bollywood on the global map with his impeccable acting skills, the legendary actor Anupam Kher has come a long way since his Saaransh days. Anupam is expected to fly down to the conference on 'Globalisation of Indian Cinema: Opportunities for the West' at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, on September 19.
Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Anupam said, "It's a great honour for me to be invited to speak about Indian cinema and the globalization of Indian cinema. For a person like me, who hails from a Hindi medium school, 'terms' like Cambridge and Oxford were all Greek and Latin during childhood. And today, with Cambridge University inviting me to deliver a lecture there, only means that Bollywood has ultimately arrived and how! Not just that, this also reflects the philosophy of my play 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai', that nothing is impossible."

Today is a special day for debutant director Prem Soni. It is 16th September and exactly one month from now, i.e. 16th October, he would be seeing the kind of directorial launch that many could just dream of. In his very first film Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna, he has managed to get Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor together in a romantic affair. But wait, this is not entirely the reason behind Prem being seen in such an ecstatic mood. As statistics and hard facts reveal, number 16 holds a special place in his heart. Prem gives the reasons why.
"Well, I have been dreaming of making a film for exactly 16 years now. Call it destiny, luck, fortune or sheer coincidence but now my film is releasing on 16th October. There is someone up in the sky who is certainly smiling at me. He wanted that the number 16 sticks on with me. God has himself written Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna for me", exclaims 34 years old Prem who is happy to let his child like
excitement be known to one and all.
Considering the fact that his film was originally slated to arrive over Valentine weekend early this year, doesn't he feel that the coincidence has only worked in his favour?
"You can say that", he smiles, "I have now got a Diwali weekend for myself. Yes, the film was originally being planned for February release but then a schedule had to be cancelled due to unavailability of dates of some key actors. Post that we did wrap up the film fast which included a couple of songs to be shot. But then the strike put a spanner in our films. As the saying goes, all is well that ends well. I have no regrets since this is the best time for the film to release."
With huge multi starrers like Blue and All The Best that have already been hyped beyond imagination, doesn't he feel that there is already too much happening on the Diwali weekend? Doesn't he feel that arriving a week later may perhaps help?
"Along with the cast and the crew of the film, I personally believe that Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna is a Diwali film", says Prem in a confident tone, "Everyone wants to see good films in cinemas and celebrate during festival occasions. Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna is a kind of film that you can see with your spouse or that special someone while holding his/her hand. There is a lot of romance and other heart warming moments in the film which justify its genre. I have no second thoughts around releasing my film on Diwali.''Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 16 Sep 2009 | 7:40 am K-Fed to join Britney on Circus tourBritney Spears might have parted ways with Kevin Federline but he will be travelling with her during the Australian leg of her Circus tour.Source: Hindustan Times News Feeds 'Cinema' | 16 Sep 2009 | 7:34 am ‘I still want Kareena for Chamki Chameli’Karisma Kapoor was applauded for Zubeida... Now it can be told. Ajay has set up a makeshift gym in far-off Karaikudi for more than just recreation. For his role in Priyadarshan's hard-hitting tale of honour killing in Bihar, Ajay Devgan needs to have an especially toned-up physique. The film is yet untitled and stars Ajay Devgan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Paresh Rawal.
Talking about the film, Priyan says, "I've turned the horrific tale of an actual incident in Bihar of an inter-caste romance into a full-on actioner. See, I wanted to keep it real. At the same time I wanted to make it riveting for the audience. So while shooting on an authentic location (Karaikudi is like a small town in Bihar) I've made my two heroes Ajay and Akshaye Khanna into full-on action heroes. This film has the kind of real stunts never seen in Hindi cinema."
Priyan has roped in his old action director B. Thyagarajan and a stunt director from South Africa, Frances to devise action scenes which would take the director's Bihari drama into the region of riveting realism.
Says Priyan, "When I say real action, I mean fight scenes that are the opposite of cable-wired flips somersaults jumps and leaps. This time Ajay has gone as raw as it can get."
The action sequences have both Devgan and Khanna locked in hand-to-hand combats, and other very basic forms of physical aggression that went out of vogue with the old Kung Fu films.
For this, Devgan needed to get into a different shape, and so did Akshaye. In fact, Akshaye is a new convert to the gym. Till this schedule in Karaikudi started, Ajay persuaded Akshaye to head for the gym.
"Yes we've a set up a terrific gym in this wilderness. It's been set up in an under-construction building. It has all the equipment," says Bipasha. "We all work out in it. Ajay and I, of course. Paresh Rawal also works out. Akshaye Khanna only used to play squash for exercise. Now he's started going to the gym. They need to get into a specific shape for this film."
Before producer Arbaaz Khan can shift Bihar to Vai near Mumbai for the shooting of Abhinav Kashyap's Dabangg, Priyadrashan has relocated a village of Bihar in Karaikudi, a Tamilian small-town 80 kilometers away from Madurai to shoot for his very real headline-derived inter-caste love story that shook rural Bihar some time ago.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Sep 2009 | 4:53 am Big Pictures sells movies to Korea, China

Mumbai - the financial capital of India is also the most important centre of the Indian Film Industry. The city plays such a major role in production and dissemination of Indian films and television programmes that it is widely known by its acronym 'BOLLYWOOD'.
In 1997, a group of film industry stalwarts headed by late Hrishikesh Mukherjee founded the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image as a not for profit Trust. The main intention was to organize an annual International Film Festival of which the film industry and the country can be proud of.
