In her blog, Lisa has revealed that she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd and started her first cycle of treatment on July 2nd. The actress, who keeps shuttling between Canada and India for work, started experiencing the early symptoms such as fatigue and exhaustion. Indiagames has announced the launch of three games based on the recently released films - Kaminey, Quick Gun Murugun and Aagey Se Right - for the mobile. These games can be downloaded from the content portals of all major telecom providers in India.
Inspired by the latest blockbuster Kaminey, a UTV Motion Pictures production, Indiagames has launched an action packed mobile game aptly suiting the thrills offered by the movie. The game replicates the role donned by Charlie, the protagonist of the movie, packed with absorbing game-play and thrilling levels.
The 'Quick Gun Murugun' game is based on the film Quick Gun Murugun, who is the central character of the game. The whacky game-play of Quick Gun Murugan tests the player's shooting speed and reaction time. The player, who is a cowboy, has to swiftly shoot the enemies appearing in the area using a desert eagle pistol, before they try to shoot him.
The game 'Aagey Se Right' is an action-packed nonstop bike racing/pursuit game based on UTV Motion Pictures' comedy film Aagey Se Right. The game-play tests the player's driving skills, speed and reaction time while he rides his bike through the chaotic streets of Mumbai city. In the game, the player who dons the role of the cop Dinkar Waghmare, has to chase his trusted Bajarangbali stickered gun on the run. While chasing it, his fate and destiny make him an unlikely hero against the underworld goons and terrorists.
Announcing the launch of these games, Samir Bangara, COO, Indiagames said, "Movies in India have a huge fan following and we are pleased to offer these exciting games to the rapidly growing base of mobile gamers. It gives us an excellent opportunity to extend the experience of these films to the user's mobile screen, giving the fans and core gamers, alike, an opportunity to relive these films, on the move."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 9 Sep 2009 | 7:05 am Rahman and Shekhar Kapur join hands for Kapur's first ever short film Passage
After working together in Elizabeth- The Golden Age, music maestro A.R.Rahman and internationally acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur have once again joined hands for Kapur's first ever short film Passage.
A special screening of the film Passage was held over the weekend on the island of La Giudecca. The charming I Granai della Republica was transformed into a magical space that played host to a soiree of glamorous stars. Shekhar Kapur, A.R. Rahman, Haley Bennett and Nadja Swarovski were among the celebrities enjoying
Venetian cocktails and canapés. The guests immerged into the world of Passage after the private screening of the short film and were even enthralled by a live orchestral performance by India's Kavita Baliga who sang music from the film scored by Academy Award Winner A.R.Rahman.
Passage, directed by Kapur and produced by Curious Pictures Production and Swarovski Entertainment, stars Julia Stiles (Cry Of The Owl, The Bourne Ultimatum), Lily Cole and Haley Benett (Marley and Me, Music and Lyrics). The film invites audiences to dive into magical moments of transformation in the lives of three young women. Together with A.R. Rahman's score Kapur's graceful images merge into a highly emotional and enigmatic passage through despair and loss to reconciliation. The camera itself acts as a kaleidoscope exploring a non-linear time-frame leaving it ultimately for the viewer to individually interpret the meaning of the enchanting and dream-like film.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 9 Sep 2009 | 7:04 am Ashutosh Gowariker changes 'novel' ending of What's Your Raashee
For those who think they know which of the 12 Priyanka Chopras Harman Baweja marries at the end of What's Your Raashee, here's a shocker.
Ashutosh has completely changed the bride-selection finale. Harman's character walks away with a completely different girl from the one that the hero selects in the novel.
It took a while to convince the novelist Madhu Rye. But Ashutosh finally made sense in convincing the litterateur that an identical ending in the film will work as a total spoiler for those who had read the book.
Rye had also never imagined that all the 12 candidates for bride-hood would have the same face.
But Ashutosh had made up his mind. "If I had 12 different actresses playing the 12 brides-in-waiting, a star-hierarchy would've been created in the audiences' mind. And the one Harman would've married would've been considered 'The Star' of the show. I wanted all the 12 girls to be looked on with equal
curiosity and interest by the audience. And for that I need to take up the challenge of making one actress play all the 12 parts."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 9 Sep 2009 | 6:49 am We make better cinema: Mammootty

Shah Rukh Khan continues to practice the body language and the speech patterns of his autistic character even at home.
Before Shah Rukh Khan was to play the autistic character in the film My Name Is Khan, Karan Johar met Londoner Chris Aston who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and his wife Maxine who wrote a book on how to cope with a spouse suffering from the disease.
Says Karan, "Shibani and I met the couple. They were gracious enough to meet us in London. And that couple's relationship became the basis of Rizwan and Mandira's relationship in My Name Is Khan. At its core level this film is a love story."
Continues Karan, "My writer Shibani Bhatija researched extensively on various aspects of an autistic disorder and contacted the various National Autistic Centers. Shibani and I personally met a lot of autistic people, took notes and went on youtube. Then Shah Rukh did his own research."
Karan admits this has been the most difficult film of his career. "It has taken its toll on me and Shah Rukh. It's true, Shah Rukh remained in character as Rizwan Khan even at home. At home in his body language he's always Rizwan. I see him doing it all the time. I don't think he has got out of it. Even when he's with his children at home."
Karan shot down the theory that Shah Rukh's disorder is inspired from Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. "It's not Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump at all. That was a totally different strain of autism. It's nearer to Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, though still very different. It's what we call high-functional autism. You can have a regular life, be married, and have children. But the syndrome does convey a fair amount of quirks and eccentricities. But his character is not essentially neuro-typical. The film has made me understand human behaviour and how to be compassionate and humane."
The film has sapped Karan's energy. He needs to take a break. "I need to get away for a month. I don't think it will happen. But no harm in dreaming."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 9 Sep 2009 | 4:17 am It's Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia's birthday today! - IndiaGlitz

He is one man for whom fear knows no meaning. All that he knows is that he is a 'Player', under whose wings, even winning takes immense pride to be associated with. He is none other than the 'Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi' Akshay Kumar, who celebrates his grand birthday today. Akki (as he is affectionately called), in his own way, showed (read 'proved') to the world that 'one does not need a famous surname to make it really Big in Bollywood'!
Having started his career as a cook on the foreign shores, Akshay is an epitome of the fact about 'What hard work can do to a person'. His success in Bollywood can be attributed less to the 'call of his Lady Luck' and more to his dedication and sincerity. A testimony to this fact is in the form of some of the most iconic films that the B-O window has ever seen, which includes the 'Khiladi' series, Yeh Dillagi, Mohra, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Dil To Pagal Hai, Hera Pheri, Khakee, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Namastey London, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Singh Is Kinng...the list is practically endless! And if the buzz around his reality show 'Khatron Ke Khiladi -Season 2' and the magnum opus flick Blue (which is just around the corner) are anything to go by, then, people, waste no time to crown today's Birthday Boy Akki as the 'Numero Uno' of Bollywood till eternity!

So much of Shahid's fame now-a-days is based on his beefcake physique - that rippling 6-pack, that not so big stubbly head - but the menace that bubbles up
in him on screen just isn't present in real life. Not, at least, from the front. He seems, if anything, a bit lost. Lost because he still hasn't had his time
of 'that's great' day out to enjoy the super success of his hit film Kaminey. Half his time, he says, is spent 'trying to run from pillar to post for
film shoots and photo shoots.' From this angle, Kapoor is quite something. You feel an instant sympathy with the 38,000 plus members of the Facebook group
'Shahid Kapoor fans'. We mean, we're here with him in his sparkling silver Mercedes-Benz, his biceps are stretching his pale yellow jersey, his deltoids
flexing like a pair of dolphins trying to nibble his ears. Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent and UK's Harrow Observer columnist Devansh Patel
meets the gun-toting geezer who is now carrying a cricket bat. It's time to play with Shahid Kapoor.
Are we meeting a different Shahid Kapoor today?
No man! I don't think so. I am as stressed out as I was because I have another release coming up in the next two weeks. I was supposed to take this three day
Kaminey break (laughs). I haven't got any time to absorb the fact that the film has done well and that it's a success. I am trying to respond to all
the messages that I've been receiving since Kaminey released and busy finishing up all my duties. Somewhere deep down, I'm really happy. I needed the
audiences support and I've got it.
Now that Dil Bole releases, do you think the ones who are going to watch the film will be the ones who were impressed by Shahid Kapoor in
Kaminey?
I'm hoping that all the positivity of Kaminey spills over on Dil Bole
Hadippa. Secondly, I think people have always liked me in the commercial space of love stories and films that have a lot of dance, music and
entertainment. They haven't seen me in my usual best since a year. Dil Bole Hadippa will put me back in that space. Thirdly, all those people who
missed out on Kaminey, because it was an 'A' certificate, will probably be able to see Dil Bole.

The results of the 55th National Awards for the year 2007 were announced yesterday and like always there were quite a few surprises in store. It was the cinema of South India that bagged all the top four honours with the Priyadarshan directed Tamil film Kanchivaram bagging the award for Best Feature Film and also fetching Prakash Raj the Best Actor Award. Veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan won the Best Director award for the Malayalam film Nallu Pennungal while Umashree was adjudged Best Actress for her portrayal in the Kannada film Gulabi Talkies.
While Bollywood failed to bag the top four honours, it did quite make up in the other categories. Leading the pack was Anil Kapoor's maiden production Gandhi My Father which bagged three awards for Best Screenplay (Feroz Abbas Khan), Best Supporting Actor (Darshan Jariwala) and even won the Special Jury award. Even Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par was not one to be left behind. The film won awards for Shankar Mahadevan (Best Male Playback Singer) and Prasoon Joshi (Best Lyrics) for the soul-stirring song 'Maa', besides also bagging the Best Film on Family Welfare award.
King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan too had reasons to smile as two of his films Chak De India and Om Shanti Om bagged one National Award each. While Chak De India deservingly won the award for Best Film providing Overall Entertainment, Om Shanti Om bagged the award for Best Art Direction (Sabu Cyril).
Rituparno Ghosh's Big B- Arjun Rampal starrer The Last Lear bagged two awards winning the Best Feature Film in English and also fetching Shefali Shah the Best Supporting Actress award while the Shahid- Kareena smash-hit Jab We Met also bagged two awards for Best Choreography and Best Female Playback Singer (Shreya Ghoshal).
The Indira Gandhi award for the Best First Film of a Director went to Frozen while the Nargis Dutt award for Best Film on National Integration went to the Pankaj Kapoor starrer Dharm. Even Indian Films - Studio 18's war film 1971 won the award for Best Hindi film award in the regional films category.

After having painted the town red with their 'frank and upfront' romance in Life In A Metro, life has got them together yet again, this time, to play the role of real-life Brand Ambassadors for Kansai Nerolac Paints. We are indeed talking about Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma, who will be promoting the new campaign
'Apke Rang. Apki Pehchan' for the premium brand Nerolac Impressions.
Those who have seen the ad feel that this (onscreen) couple has recreated the same magic which they did in Life In A Metro. What come across from the ad is that both of them (Konkona and Irrfan) suit the role as their appeal cuts across all strata of the society. Not just that, they also come across as people next door and they share very good screen chemistry. For the uninitiated, the said ad film showcases a married couple (played by Konkona & Irrfan), whose home is being painted. They seem angry with each other, with life... until they chance upon a flute...a flute that they once connected over & then in the course of life neglected. It is the process of painting & the flute that they find amidst it that helps them rediscover the people that they once were, thereby refreshing the magic in their relationship.

Priyadarshan, who's shooting in distant Karaikudi, cannot believe his Tamil film Kanchivaram has won the National Award for best film. "Can you believe, in my career of 25 years as film director, this is the first time my film won an award. And that I've won it for Kanchivaram is a very special event for me. This film is very close to my heart," says the director emotionally, even as he prepares for the release of his next masala film De Dana Dan.
"Now when the critics see De Dana Dan, they'll say Priyan is back to his old tricks," chuckles the prolific director. "But I am proud of my masala films as well. It's very important for a film to get an audience. And my comedies are big successes. I can't fight success. I will continue to make the massy comedies," says the director whose films have often been accused if being wholesale adaptations of South Indian films.
Ironically, all his serious-toned films in Hindi, including the recent Billu with Shah Rukh Khan have been failures. "I've to make what the audience likes. But now, I also have to make films that are close to my heart."
"Kanchivaram is a completely original screenplay. And I'm really happy for my leading man Prakash Raj. He has breathed life into the role of the silk weaver. Sabu Cyril who has worked many times with me got the National Award for Best Art Direction. Sabu has made every frame look like a silk saree woven with love and care."
Sadly, Priyan missed out on the National Award for best director. "But no regrets. Adoor Gopalkrishnan is a colleague I greatly admire. He deserved it. I'm just glad to be finally recognized after all these years." Priyadarshan lost the award to the awards' favourite Adoor Gopalkrishnan who won for the Malayalam film Nalu Pennnugal.
Contrary to reports in a section of the press (put out by vested interests jumping the gun to create hype around their nominated films) Anil Kapoor's Gandhi My Father and Shah Rukh prestigious starrer Chak De have lost the 'Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film On National Integration' to Bhavna Talwar's Dharm.
Confirming this Dharm's producer Sheetal Talwar says, "Yes, our film has won the 'Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration'. We're proud because the other nominee was Chak De India which was a very good film. My wife Bhavna is the first debutant director to win this award. Earlier, it has gone to stalwarts like Mani Ratnam."
The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh saw Dharm at a special screening some time ago. "The last time he had seen a film was Lage Raho Munnabhai," says Sheetal proudly.
However, Sheetal Talwar is miffed that Pankaj Kapoor has lost the Best Actor Award in Dharm to Prakash Raj. "I've seen Kanchivaram and it deserves every National Award that it has got. But I thought Prakash, though brilliant, was a little over-the-top. Pankaj, in our film was incredibly subtle and nuanced."
