"My role in Three has a lot more than just negative shades" - Ashish Chowdhry

Ashish Chowdhry He is an actor who has slowly but surely made a mark for himself in this industry with memorable performances in films like Qayamat, Shaadi Ka Laddoo and Dhamaal. Now he is all set to portray two completely different roles in two completely different films- Daddy Cool and Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal. Yes..ladies and gentlemen...we are talking about the extremely talented actor Ashish Chowdhry. Bollywood Hungama caught up with Ashish and got him talking on everything about his two new films- Daddy Cool and Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal. Ashish... you have 2 releases in 2 weeks (Daddy Cool and Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal). How does it feel? Its very exciting...2 films of mine are releasing within 6 days of each other (Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal) is releasing on Thursday 3rd Sept). Until these two films I have never had butterflies in my stomach. I always treated acting as a hobby since I even had a parallel business of my own. However over the last 6 months, I have become more and more serious towards my acting assignments and it's become more of a profession than a hobby. This is the first time I am getting the butterflies in my stomach. Fortunately or unfortunately two of my films are coming together. I don't really know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but the best part is that they are totally different films. One of them (Daddy Cool) is what I do a best- a multi-starrer comedy and the other one (Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal) is something which I have never done before- an intense role in a thriller. Over the last 6 months, I have become more and more serious towards my acting assignments and it's become more of a profession than a hobby. As you said, Daddy Cool is a multi-starrer comedy, how was it working with such an ensemble cast of some of the best comic talents? I was fortunate that I had worked with most of them before. Anna (Sunil Shetty) was with me in my first film Qayamat, I also starred in his home production EMI. I remember watching his films Balwaan, Mohra etc as a young boy and was in awe of his physique. Today for me to be sharing screen space with him and standing shoulder to shoulder is a special feeling. Javed is one of the most talented actors and I have been a fan of his comic timing right since his Channel V days when he was a VJ. Chunky is again superb when it comes to comedy, his film Aankhen was among my favorite films during my younger days. I am truly lucky to have got a chance to work with this gang and especially the makers Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria who I feel are the masters of this genre of cinema. They gave me Dhamaal which was a turning point in my career and I am always grateful to them. Ashish Chowdhry Considering it a mad-cap comedy there sure must have been many funny moments on the sets. What was the funniest moment on the sets? The funniest moment by far was when we pulled a prank on Aarti Chabria. Usually women are the target for such pranks and poor Aarti was our bakra this time around. We had one of our guys pose as an interviewer and asked Aarti her views on the whole cheer-leader controversy that had sprung up during the IPL. She said that it was unnecessarily being hyped and saw no harm in cheerleaders being around. Then we had another guy talking in Marathi acting as a president of a political party asking her how she could be so careless towards such a serious issue. He started threatening her to take back her comments. Poor Aarti didn't know what hit her and got tensed and started crying. She was almost about to call the cops for protection when we broke out the news that it was a prank. She was mighty pissed with all of us but I must say that she was by-far the easiest one to fall for our tricks and Anna, myself and the rest of the gang had a blast pulling a prank on her The funniest moment by far on the sets of Daddy Cool was when we pulled a prank on Aarti Chabria. Coming to Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal ...it's quite an interesting title....could you tell us a little bit about the film? Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal is an intense film about a couple who let in a stranger into their house and how their life changes after that. I play the guy who enters their house as a PG. As for the title, I believe Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal is a title that has a lot of intrigue and curiosity value attached to it. The film was initially called Purple Lake but we felt that it may not give the audiences the exact idea of what the film is all about. In case of Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal, the tagline of the film pretty much sums up the experience... 'Two lived happily...they let in a stranger...now Three live in danger'. Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal was initially called Purple Lake but we felt that it may not give the audiences the exact idea of what the film is all about. From the looks of it, you seem to be playing a negative character. What made you say yes to this role? Yes...I won't deny that it's a role with negative shades but there's a lot more to the character. The credit goes to Vikram Bhatt for having faith in me that I could pull of this role. He was the one who told me to not just stick to doing comedy roles and try something different. In fact, I first started out playing a negative character in my T.V. serial and even won a lot of appreciation for that. However it just so happened that in films, I got more popular for my comic roles. Thanks to Vikram and the director Vishal Pandya, I have got an opportunity to once again showcase my mean side in Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal. When I read the script, I was completely floored and there was no way I was going to let go of this opportunity. Ashish Chowdhry Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal is directed by Vishal Pandya who is making his debut. How has he done for his debut flick? Vishal is a young boy but has been working as an assistant with Vikram Bhatt for a long time now. He is one of Vikram's most entrusted guys. When Vikram first told me that Vishal would be directing Three- Love, Lies, Betrayal, I was a bit nervous. I even asked Vikram to be on the sets. But after the first day's shoot, I realized that this young boy is a bundle of talent. He executed the intense scene so brilliantly that I told Vikram now it doesn't matter if you are present or not present on the sets. I am very happy with his work and the fact that he made me explore the other side of me through this role. You are paired opposite Nausheen Ali Sardar who is a big star on the small screen but is making her big screen debut. How was it working with her? When I was told that Nausheen would be starring in this film, I had a few thoughts in my mind. I wondered where she was all this while after Kkusum and would she be all right for this role? But when I spoke to my director, he told me that she was busy doing theatre for three years and had been receiving a lot of appreciation for her performances in plays. I then started gaining a lot of respect for her. In this film, she is the only female lead, so but obviously it's a very important role for her. She has given a fabulous performance and indeed suits the part very well. The thought of allowing a stranger into your house is quite an eerie feeling. Would you ever do such a thing in real life? Never...never....never (laughs) that's the mistake these guys (Akshay and Nausheen) make in the film but lots of people do it in our country. We as a nation believe in the philosophy of Athithidevo Bhava and say that Mehman Bhagwan Hota Hai...I too believe in these things but let me tell you that I am far from being Bhagwan in this film. Ashish Chowdhry 6 releases last week and Three the coming week, do you think audience has the time and money to watch so many films? Definitely they don't have the time and money to watch all the films...Recession is also going on but today's audience is smart. They are going to take a pick and watch the one that interests them most. After the multiplex strike, there has been a backlog of films ready for release so there is bound to be competition every single week. In fact bigger films are all set to release every week from now onwards. One can't be worried about these things. I am not worried. I just feel that good films work. It's very important for a lot of films to do well since that's the only way the industry can benefit. So I wish well for all the films and not just my film. Finally, what's next on your agenda after Daddy Cool and Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal? I have completed Ravi Chopra's Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai with Govinda; I am also wrapping up UTV's Season's Greetings this month which is yet another multi-starrer comedy. I am starting Double Dhamaal (the much awaited sequel to Dhamaal) in exactly 25 days with the complete same cast. I am also doing one more film with Vikram Bhatt which should start sometime in November. It's a mystery horror and Vishal Pandya would be directing this film too.

Hrithik Roshan on the cover of GQ magazine

Hrithik Roshan After having won a million hearts (and it's not an exaggeration), the supremely talented Hrithik Roshan is back in the front and how! If his cover snap on the latest edition of the GQ magazine is anything to go by, then, Bollywood is all set to herald the re-birth of a Superstar! One man who has all the luck in the world is Martin Prihoda, the very name who has to his credit of taming the superstar Hrithik, in his lenses. If you are one of the faint hearted, then, may we request you to kindly hold onto your heart beats and tie yourself tight as the interview in this magazine will anyways blow you out of the world! In what could be called as one of the most heartfelt interviews, Hrithik has really bared out his soul to the guys at GQ. Hrithik, the man, in his own words, speaks about all the adulation by saying that "You get so confused between the person that you are and the persona that is projected on to that big, huge screen. I've been on stage where I have 40,000 people shouting my name." While on Bollywood, he opines that "I've reached a stage where I have enough courage... to do films I believe in, whether they're considered commercial or non-commercial. It really doesn't matter so much." And for all those who were dying to know the 'Real' Hrithik and didn't know whom to ask, the superstar has done the needful by saying that "I am my own product. And I have to take care of myself. I have to display myself in the best possible way. My light, my expressions, my clothes, everything has to go right. That's going to get me my name, my fame, my bread-and-butter, my money for me and my family." Needless to say, this issue of GQ is a must-must buy for one and all. Do not miss it for anything in the world.

Ranbir shoots Rocket Singh music video despite Grandmother's demise

Ranbir Kapoor Ranbir Kapoor was in no mood to dance this week after his grandmother's death. The young actor was very close to his mom's mom who lived in Ranbir house, and in fact in a room right opposite his and was constantly in and out of her favourite grandson's space. The death in the family hit Ranbir hard. But the very next day he was dancing to Ahmed Khan's choreography at Yashraj Films for a special last-minute song in the song less Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year. This week for three days from Tuesday to Thursday Yashraj Studios was abuzz with excitement as Ranbir Kapoor shook a leg or two to Ahmed Khan's tune. The song has apparently been added on to Shimit Amin's Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year much to the choreographer's surprise. The film was meant to be song less. So what brought on this sudden spurt of music into this gritty real and savagely satirical film about a young Sardarji going through a bad-hair day? Says Ahmed, "Even I was surprised when Aditya Chopra approached me for a song in Rocket Singh. Then I heard the track by Salim-Suleiman and I was blown. It's a sure-shot hit," says the young choreographer riding high on the waves of the Dan ta nan track from Kaminey. Ahmed says he has forged another durable star-choreographer bond with Ranbir after Shahid. "Rocket Singh is my third film with Ranbir after Bachna Ae Haseeno and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. We've an almost instinctive understanding of what Ranbir's body language is and how it can be used." This would the second item number with a Sikh hero after Singh Is Kinng. But Ahmed is sure it is different. "This is a young cute Sardarji having a blast on the dance floor. It's unlike anything anyone has ever seen. We had to cancel take on Tuesday because Ranbir's Naani passed away. But we managed in two days." The song was apparently Aditya Chopra's and not director Shimit Amin's idea. Says Ahmed, "I've a 5-film deal with Yashraj, so I am at their beck and call. And if it's song for Ranbir then it's even more fun."

Pakistani actress Meera receives death threat; Mahesh Bhatt extends helps

Meera If Pakistani actress Meera is to be believed, she is under deep stress and facing trouble. Again! Over the weekend gone by, she was in for a rude shock when someone, who claimed to be her husband, tried to force his way into her house. The incident happened in Lahore, Pakistan, where Meera is currently stationed. Though the man wasn't eventually successful in his attempt, a terrified Meera immediately called up her mentor in Bollywood, Mahesh Bhatt, and cried for help. Confirms Mahesh Bhatt, "Yes, Meera did call from Lahore. Some guy claiming to be her husband tried to break into her home and kill her! She needs help." Incidentally it was Mahesh Bhatt, who along with Mukesh Bhatt, had launched her as an actor in Bollywood with Nazar (2005) which was directed by Soni Razdan. Meera was paired opposite Ashmit Patel in the film that had failed at the box office. This is not the first time though that Meera has got into trouble and she has reached out to Mahesh Bhatt for help. Last year, she had landed up at Mahesh Bhatt's house at around 2 AM in the morning after being troubled by a guy. At that time she was living in Mumbai and she became so terrified after the incident that she didn't have anyone else to look forward to help than her mentor himself. It's a different matter though that Mahesh Bhatt had refused to entertain her request at that time of the night and asked Sevy Ali (producer of Nazar) to help her out. Though at that time both the parties had found the behaviour of each other unacceptable (Meera was miffed that Bhatt didn't allow her in while the latter felt that she shouldn't have knocked at his doors in the paranoiac state that she was in), situation is a little different today. While for Meera, it was again Mahesh Bhatt whom she showed her trusted, even Mahesh Bhatt is not shying away from helping her out. Coming back to Meera's claim, there is also another version floating around as per netizens. It has also been stated that the man is actually Meera's husband and has the relevant papers and photographs to back his statement. Apparently he did try to reach Meera but her guards prevented him from entering her house. Though one hopes that things do not take an uglier turn, as per Mahesh Bhatt, there is help already reaching out to Meera from official channels. "Salman Taseer, the Governor of Punjab, was very prompt in taking action. Meera is still crying for help though", says Mahesh Bhatt.

"My newer films are less emotionally exhausting" - Kangna Ranaut

Kangna is happy to be playing light and breezy characters in her forthcoming films. Whether it is her under production No Problem with Anees Bazmee, Kites with Anurag Basu or Tanu Weds Manu with Aanand L Rai, Kangna is finally letting her hair down. From her serious roles that created a 'troubled girl' image for her, Kangna is now enjoying her new stint where she can afford to engage in some 'less emotionally exhausting' parts. "I am very happy with the kind of roles I am playing today. Movies like No Problem and Tanu Weds Manu are good to enact", smiles Kangna who has earlier made a career out of playing a troubled soul in films like Raaz - The Mystery Continues, Fashion, Life In A... Metro, Woh Lamhe and Gangster. She acknowledges the fact that she was earlier working in serious films for a good part of her career. "I stand by those films. I certainly like the roles that I have essayed in my previous films", she says in a firm tone, "But acting has 'navrasa' and I am looking forward to my current lot of films as well. We haven't started filming for Tanu Weds Manu yet, but the subject is so engaging that it enthused me in a big way." To be shot in a major way in North India, mainly in the cities of Lucknow, Kanpur, Faridkot, Patiala and Delhi, Tanu Weds Manu would be backed by a big corporate house. It wasn't the lure of getting into a light hearted romantic entertainer that prompted Kangna to sign Tanu Weds Manu. For her the subject, just as was the case in her earlier movies as well, was a big driving factor for agreeing to do the film. "The plot of Tanu Weds Manu is exceptional and the setting is very interesting as well. The subject narrated by Aanand was such that I was sold right away", says Kangna who is currently enjoying a hectic travel schedule that spans Milan, London, Singapore, Bangkok and Durban. Her pairing with Madhavan in the film too sounds unconventional, yet fresh. Has she ever given it a thought that how would the two of them eventually look together on screen? "I think that verdict is yours as an audience to declare", says Kangna in a diplomatic tone," Audiences will decide how our pairing will look. I think Madhavan is a great actor, and I am looking forward to working with him." Kangna Ranaut Meanwhile she is currently also working with Anees Bazmee in No Problem. It must be indeed a different experience to be moving out of the grim world of Fashion and Raaz and getting into some full on 'masti' and 'dhamaal' affair with No Problem? "Yes, it is indeed a different experience", agrees Kangna who is working with the blockbuster film maker for the first time in her career, "The characters are light and breezy. Due to this very reason, getting into their skin and mindset is less emotionally exhausting than some of the roles that I have essayed in the past. In personal life too, Kangna is definitely smiling and keeping herself thoroughly engaged. Even though she suffered heartbreak recently after her split from boyfriend Adhyayan Suman, she is not showing it to the outer world. This petite actress has not just bought a new BMW and some beautiful solitaire diamonds but is also celebrating her new single status with over seven films in hand. Other than No Problem, Kites and Tanu Weds Manu, Kangna would also be seen soon in Vaada Raha... I Promise (with Bobby Deol), Kites (Hrithik Roshan) and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai (Emraan Hashmi) during next few months.

The legendary R.K. Films is not being revived with a Ranbir Kapoor starrer

Click above for movie stills Since quite some time there was talk that the celebrated R.K. Films, founded by the legendary Raj Kapoor, is in the process of being revived. Reportedly, the Kapoors were keen to start a film with Ranbir Kapoor in the principal lead, thus signalling the revival of the banner after a hiatus. "As of now, there are no such plans to start a film under the R.K. banner," Rishi Kapoor clarifies emphatically, "Yes, we did meet people, we were toying with the idea of starting a few films, but we couldn't find the right subject to revive the banner. Nothing exciting came up." The veteran, who has been an integral part of many an important film in his illustrious career, will now be seen in CHINTUJI. "It wasn't titled CHINTUJI initially. The title was something else. In fact, it was more of a tongue-twister, hence the makers decided to change it to CHINTUJI, which is very flattering [that's how he is addressed by his dear ones]," he states. The veteran actor plays himself in CHINTUJI, "except that I am not as spoilt in real life as I am projected in this film," he laughs. He enacts the role of an actor who takes to politics when he realises his career is fading. "It's an interesting film and a role that I hadn't portrayed ever," he says.

What's the actual price?

Click above for movie stills So what's the actual price of MY NAME IS KHAN? Has Fox Star Studios India paid a massive Rs. 100 crores for the global rights of the film [excluding music rights]? Or is the actual price Rs. 81 crores? The speculation continues... "It's a privilege to be associated with Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan. It can't get bigger than that. But the price is completely not 100 crores or 81 crores. I wouldn't like to reveal the exact numbers, but it's completely off the mark," Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios India, breaks his silence on this topic. But what holds significance is that the film in question would be released extensively in the international markets. "MY NAME IS KHAN has tremendous international appeal and would be released by Fox Searchlight in America and 20th Century Fox across the globe. We aren't looking at a fancy print count to begin with, but we would take it beyond the Indian diaspora. Like SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE was released at a mere 10 screens when it started out in America, but the screen count gradually rose to almost 3,000, thanks to a systematic strategy. That would be the strategy for MY NAME IS KHAN as well," Vijay Singh divulges.

"Major part of Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna is set at Melbourne airport" - Prem Soni

Prem R Soni Prem Soni isn't a risk taker when it comes to the core content of his film. But we can term him as one because his debut film Main Aurr Mrs Khanna has Indian Film Industry's top rankers - Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. That's a death defying duty for the young man. What's more, he reminds us that Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is the only romantic drama coming out of Sohail Khan Productions after their last successful romantic drama eleven years ago, Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. And with Blue and All The Best releasing on the same day, the 'Prem' team of Salman and Soni are all geared up for the clash. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent Devansh Patel met the effervescent director at a studio in Khar where he and his team of musicians were giving the background score final touches for his Diwali release. Expect some early fireworks this Diwali. From all the diverse films coming out, we have yet again a formula film coming in form of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. I don't know whether my film is a formula film or not but I can surely say what differentiates Main Aurr Mrs Khanna from the rest. For a long time we haven't seen a simple ordinary story set in a contemporary fashion. It's not got the 'shu-sha's'. The theme is effective and it's a heart felt story with good performances. So if you're in for that and something that could just move you and relate with you, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is the food for you. Salman and Sohail, both play 'Main' in the film and they are looking at Mrs Khanna from their point of view Haven't we seen enough of Salman Khan and Sohail Khan together? I have an answer for this. You're in for a big surprise. They're not the way they've been in their earlier films at all. Both have been a part of successful comedies but this film is not a comedy. So comedy is out of question. They are coming into a niche way of doing romance together. Salman and Sohail, both play 'Main' in the film and they are looking at Mrs Khanna from their point of view. So it's not competing with each other nor fighting over a woman. It's about their interpretation about what love is all about. The film is weaved in a very interesting fashion. Then your film must have an age group? Yes it does. Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is a very contemporary film. It is targeted towards the youth and does not deal with the forty five plus audience. The issues are today's and it is not dramatic at all. Realistically, bearing in mind the youth of today, the film is witty. The film also deals with the issues surrounding career over love which is one of the main reasons for an unstable marriage in today's time. The film also deals with the issues surrounding career over love which is one of the main reasons for an unstable marriage As a writer and a director, do you tap into the overseas sensibilities also? I mean, an Indian couple living in Australia, etc? I have lived all my life abroad. I am from Spain. I've been brought up there. I have seen NRI's, I've seen the Spaniards, I've seen Indians out here too because I've been living in India for the past sixteen years. Overall, I've got a good bit of exposure. Secondly, I don't plan things. The story could be set in London, New York, Mumbai, etc but the theme, the sentiments, the story would be the same. I somehow got fascinated towards Melbourne because there were great beaches and the innocence of the city attracted me. Are we in for a surprise? Yes you are. Firstly because of the never before seen pairing of Salman and Kareena and secondly because the major part of the film is set at an airport. It was very essential for me to shoot at the real airport rather than putting up a set. Real locations do the magic. Plus, I needed an international airport beyond immigration to shoot. The Melbourne Victoria tourism did support us and gave us the Melbourne International Airport to shoot for many days. That was one of the main reasons for me to choose Melbourne as the backdrop of the film. How did Main Aurr Mrs Khanna happen? I just went and met Salman Khan. He was very welcoming to listen to any script with a new comer who had a fresh idea. He gave me time which was really nice of him. I also had a bound copy with me which I presented to him. After reading the script he said, "I also want to produce it". That's how I met Sohail Khan and he too loved it. Who comes out top notch in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna? I think Sohail is completely different in what he has done in the film. You haven't seen Sohail Khan like this before. This is going to be Sohail's finest performances till date. Salman and Kareena's chemistry in the film is awesome. They make a wonderful couple on screen. They too are going to surprise you. Kareena plays her role well. I can't say she is the best because she has been the best in all her films. She will definitely move you in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. Salman and Kareena's chemistry in the film is awesome What about Salman Khan as a person? I respect him too much. First of all, I'd like to credit him for the kind of human being he is. He is too intuitive. He has definitely got the sixth sense in him. Salman knows what honest people are all about. If you're too honest with your job, he is too honest with you. A day would be too less to talk about this magnificent person. Are you also doing your bit for the Salman Khan's Being Human Foundation? Kareena Kapoor plays an orphan in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. She is a part of an orphanage where Salman Khan meets her for the first time. It has a lot of similarity with the real life also as Salman Khan is and his charity is. He does a lot for other people without saying anything about it. As far as being related with Main Aurr Mrs Khanna at this point of time, we really don't know. But yes, I'm sure by the time of release, we'll definitely do something for the charity in the film that would benefit people who are in need. Will your film make or break marriages? It wouldn't break marriages for sure (laughs).

Naresh Malik steps down as Pixion CEO, to join Prime Focus

Naresh Malik Naresh Malik, CEO of Mumbai based post-production house Pixion, has put in his papers. After a three stint with Pixion, Malik will now join post-production major Prime Focus as CEO, Films, India, where he will handle the DI and Film EQR business of Prime Focus. "It was a great opportunity coming from Namit Malhotra (MD of Prime Focus) and I decided to move on. I would be heading the film business which include all the services including Camera, Audio, VFX and DI amongst others," Malik told Bollywood Hungama. During his tenure with Pixion, Malik was instrumental in expanding the company from a 50 people, limited profile unit to one with over 800 staff spread over facilities in Mumbai, Chennai and the UK. The company's growth was powered by strategic acquisitions of visual effects boutiques like London based 'Men from Mars' and 'Molinare'. Over the years, Malik leveraged his strong technology background to build system solutions ranging from DTH facilities to post-production studios to news rooms. A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama that a few others from the top management are also expected to leave the company, fueling concerns of a possible exodus. The studio is currently working on the animation feature titled Mahayoddha Ram. Prime Focus, which competes with Pixion in the post-production and vfx space, has worked on many Bollywood films including Ghajini, Love Aaj Kal and Luck.

Rs. 120 cr. deal between Indian Films & Vipul for London Dreams scrapped

Vipul Shah Exactly a year back, right after the release of Singh Is Kinng, it was announced amidst much fanfare that Indian Films was in the process of acquiring London Dreams for a never heard before figure of Rs. 120 crores. It was obvious that Vipul Shah, maker of this Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin starrer, had hit the jackpot with the biggest ever deal for a Bollywood film. However, as things stand today, the deal is scrapped. Indian Films is no longer associated with London Dreams and Vipul Shah is happy to go back to the old school method of selling the film to various distributors across the country. "Yes, there is nothing happening with Indian Films as far as London Dreams is concerned. Frankly, I am not dependent on the corporate houses to see my film release in theaters. I have enough distributors across the country who are willing to pick the film and I am more than glad to release the film through them", says Vipul Shah who has announced the release of the film as 30th October and has already begun the promotional campaign. Looking at the response that the promos are expected to generate, what if a corporate house, including even Indian Films, shows a renewed interest in the project and is willing to renegotiate? Would he be willing to have a discussion? "See, I am doing business here. Whatever works best for my film, I will do that. But no, I am not waiting for anyone here. There are great offers already and it's a matter of time before they are sealed and announced", Vipul responds. While the figure quoted by Vipul was Rs. 120 crores at the time of announcement of London Dreams, it is but natural that in today's market scenario, the amount would be much lesser. This is understandable too since the entire recession and slow down did impact consumers as well as the making of the films, something that reflects in the extremely poor success rate that Bollywood had to show for most part of the first half of 2009. No wonder, while Shah Rukh Khan's My Name Is Khan is said to have been sold for Rs. 98 crores, even Kites and Three Idiots have not crossed the elusive Rs. 100 crores mark. "These are all big films that you mention and also the most anticipated in the coming months. Hence they also serve as a benchmark for us", says Vipul, "Since London Dreams too pretty much falls in the same bracket, it would be a matter of 5%-10% drift. Our film is not far behind either."

Giselle Monteiro, Harleen of Love Aaj Kal, skips Punjab trip

Giselle Monteiro Everyone in Punjab wants a glimpse of their soni kudi Harleen from Love Aaj Kal. And Giselle Monteiro hearing the clamor for her in the land of the five rivers was supposed to join her director Imtiaz Ali in Chandigarh recently. Alas, man proposes, producer disposes. Apparently, the Love Aaj Kal co-producers Eros were reluctant to fund Giselle's trip to and stay in Punjab. The pretty Brazilian model turned actress is of course politically correct in her response. "Yes, I was supposed to be in Chandigarh with Imtiaz. But I couldn't make it on time. I know they want to see me in Punjab. Maybe later..." She trails of with an uncomfortable laugh, choosing to focus on the good things that are happening to her career. Giselle is kicked about the fact that her first film is such a success. "I loved playing this Punjabi kudi," she says with her cute thick accent. "And that's the only Punjabi I know. I've seen some black-and-white Bollywood films from the 1960s to understand the mannerisms and body language of the era." Giselle's favourite actress is her first co-star Saif Ali Khan's mother Sharmila Tagore. "Imtiaz showed me her films. Because she had the kind of personality Imtiaz wanted me to project. I learnt a lot from her. She is soooooo beautiful." Giselle wanted to meet Sharmila. "But I didn't get a chance. If I did I'd tell her how amazing I find her. I love her in her movies. She's wow." She also wants to go to Goa. "Because there're lots of Monteiros in Goa."

LEADTEK 285 GTX NVIDIA has lucratively employed their 55 nm production process for the GT200 GPUs resulting in the GTX 285. The card presents additional performance, consumes less power and is noiseless compared to the previous model. The clock increases output by about 5%, with the lead getting better at higher resolutions. NVIDIA switch-over to 55 nm allows roughly 10% in die production cost savings which gives them a clear advantage to compete against ATI products with price-cuts. The Leadtek 285 GTX has a lot to offer in its robust package. It is packed with PCI Express 2.0 GPU (GPU/Memory Clock at 648/2484 MHz), which is the support platform for next generation PCs. That's when Raghav got to know Prateik. They decided to work together whenever Raaghav directs his first film. Prateik will play the title role in My Friend Pinto.
