Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 12 Aug 2009 | 7:33 am Sonam, Abhay will start shooting for Ayesha this month
Abhay Deol is down in Mumbai from New York to shoot for Anil Kapoor's production starring his daughter Sonam Kapoor. The shooting of the delayed project finally starts on August 27.
Abhay is now focusing entirely on full preparation the desi adaptation of Emma from August 27. Rehearsals and preparations have been on full-blast.
The methodical actor has been taking Salsa lessons to play his character. Says Abhay, "I know there were rumours about the future of the film. There always will be rumours about everything. I'm taking Salsa lessons for my character from my choreographer Ashley Lobo. After this, I've to start taking riding lessons. So work is on full swing."
Abhay admits he hasn't read Jane Austen's novel as part of his preparation for Ayesha. "But all of Jane Austen's heroes have some distinctive traits," he states.
Abhay has been in regular rehearsals with Sonam Kpaoor. Ayesha would seem like a far more conventional film than the quirky off-mainstream character he has been playing. "You forget I started my career with a romantic comedy. Imtiaz Ali's Socha Na Tha."
Imtiaz and Abhay started their careers together. Yet, like Raj Kumar Santoshi did with Abhay's cousin Sunny, Imtiaz seems to have moved on. "Where has he moved to?" is Abhay's clever repartee. "When he has a script for me, he'll tell me I'm sure. Both of us are busy with our own films."
Ayesha will be shot in Delhi, Mumbai and Rishikesh. So Abhay will be in India for a while. "I've to go to the US back in October. I've other acting offers in Mumbai. But I'm in no hurry to sign. I'm right now focusing on my production house, besides Ayesha."
Abhay wants to buy an apartment in New York. But the kind of money that he's offered in Bollywood won't pay for the home in the US. Says Abhay, "I've looked at a place that I like in New York. But it's too early to buy any property. I need to earn money first. That's why I'm starting my own production house Forbidden Films , so I can work for myself and pay myself with the profits and really get to know my market value. Everybody needs money. I'm not here to do charity."
Abhay has finished a script and he's now looking at a director for his first production.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 12 Aug 2009 | 7:32 am "No, I didn't back track" - Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi is not just frustrated, he is also terribly hurt. He would have thought that after a hearing at the Minorities Commission Office on Monday, the matter around an alleged discrimination by a Housing society had finally come to a sane resolution. However, that doesn't appear to be the case as he is continuing to face some (unwarranted) flak. He is being accused of 'back tracking' from his earlier claim of 'discrimination' by claiming that the entire 'controversy' arose due to some 'miscommunication'.
"All this is so disappointing", rues Emraan, "A certain section of the Press has given a statement stating that I back tracked from my word. Sorry, I never back tracked. I did have all the reasons to believe that I was discriminated by the Housing society on religious grounds."
It was being stated that Emraan Hashmi took a U-turn by claiming that there was after all no discrimination against him.
"No, that's not the case", Emraan sticks to his guns, "Yesterday we had a hearing at the Minorities Commission Office. In this hearing, I stuck to what I had said a week back that I had reasons to believe that I faced discrimination by a Housing Society on religious grounds. And I am saying this on the records. I want to clear the air once for and all."
Apparently, the Minorities Commission wanted to resolve the issue peacefully. "Who wouldn't want that", questions Emraan, "It's the right thing to do. Even the Commission felt that that the matter was blown out of proportion and had been widely politicized. The best way to handle it was to follow a peaceful route."
It is expected that the final verdict would soon be announced by Mr. Abraham Mathai of the Minorities Commission. "I abide and respect whatever they have decided. I agree 100% with their verdict. Even the Society members and the Owner have stated that maybe there was a miscommunication. They have also claimed that they had not denied me the flat on the basis of my religion. That's good", Emraan heaves a sigh of relief here.
There were also murmurs that his parents had misbehaved at the Society meeting on 26th July'09. "Give me the names of the people who told you this. Why don't people come out and openly make such statements? Not a single Society member has stated so. I am shocked at such accusations when nothing like this happened at all," he sets the records straight.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 12 Aug 2009 | 7:31 am Winehouse musical in the making?

The hype about 'Quick Gun Murugan' (QGM) is so much that, these days, everybody
is finding it easier to say 'QGM' as compared to 'ABC'. Well, if you too belong to the same clan, then, this news will surely come 'riding' into your ears.
The news is that the world-famous 'Quick Gun Murugan' will make his first ever appearance tomorrow at the launch of his film Quick Gun Murugan. For
this, the southern actor Dr. Rajendra Prasad (who plays the title role in the film) will be seen on his trademark horse and in his film attire as 'Quickgun Murugan' and not as his real-self.
To double the excitement, the southern hottie Rambha (who plays 'Mango Dolly' in the film) will be seen accompanying the 'QGM' man.

She came, she conquered and then...she vanished in thin air! We are indeed talking about the sexy southern siren Rambha, who conquered the cine-goers hearts with her cool as cucumber acting prowess in films like Judwaa, Gharwali Baharwali and Bandhan to name a few.
Well, the good news for all the Rambha fans is that this damsel is back in Bollywood with a vengeance, with a film called Quick Gun Murugan, whose mere title is curiosity enough to garner eyeballs by a ton. For starters, Quick Gun Murugan is a film about a superhero with the grit of Clint Eastwood and the glam of our own South Indian superstars.
Rambha's look in the film has been designed essentially to enhance her character called 'Mango Dolly', who happens to be a blonde sultry seductress. But the real fact is that she is not what she appears to be. Instead, she is someone who, in reality is a gangster's moll, with her looks styled on the lines of a modern day Barbie Doll.
You really have to hold onto your horses till August 28, 2009, as that's the day when you will get to hear Quick Gun Murugan say 'Mind It' to his enemies, needless to say, with Mango 'Rambha' Dolly by his side!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 11 Aug 2009 | 6:29 am Asin upset with her imposters on Orkut, Facebook or Twitter
"Hey there... Asin is using Twitter," declares the latest social networking website, and then goes on to give us gems like "I want to act in a Tamil movie" from the actress.
There's just one problem. Asin is not on Twitter... or any of the social networking websites. And she can't laugh off the impersonations any longer.
Asin has a very serious problem. She has impersonators on all the major social-networking sites. "I was ready to overlook these fake IDs using my name as long as they weren't harmful. But now the problem is getting out of hand."
The other night a colleague had a whole long conversation with 'Asin' and called up the next day to share her excitement about what an intimate conversation they had.
"I nearly fell off my chair. I won't name this actress. But she said we shared our most intimate secrets on Facebook. I nearly fell off my chair and asked her whom did she share her secrets with because it was most certainly not me. Two days ago, a journalist came to interview me and said she got all the information on me from what I had written on Twitter. For the record, I'm not on any of the social-networking websites. Apart from my own website, I am not on the internet for any other purpose. I started blogging even before Aamir did in August 2005,"Asin declares proudly.
Asin is aghast. "I was clubbed with Chetan Bhagat and Shashi Tharoor and put on a social networking website. But I'm not on Orkut, Facebook or Twitter. Apparently, there are lots of fake profiles."
The lies about Asin don't end at virtual reality. "It's been ages since I have had non-vegetarian food. For all practical purposes I'm a vegetarian. But I read this horrible report about how I love all kinds of exotic meats. I haven't been approached by PETA. But that doesn't mean I've to go the other way."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 11 Aug 2009 | 6:28 am Jackson's oxygen chamber found in warehouseThe infamous oxygen chamber that the late pop star Michael Jackson used to lie in has been found in a storage department in San Diego, California.Source: Entertainment News | 11 Aug 2009 | 5:37 am Govinda plays womaniser in 'Life Partner': TussharTusshar Kapoor is happy with Govinda's presence as co-star in the forthcoming Abbas-Mustan movie "Life Partner" and says the comic actor adds as much value to the comic caper as Salman Khan did in "No Entry".Source: Entertainment News | 11 Aug 2009 | 5:35 am "To impregnate a girl by mistake, I had to look innocent" - Ruslaan Mumtaz
After MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar, Ruslaan Mumtaz is once again seen on the big screen in Satish Kaushik directed Teree Sang. In the film which opened last Friday, this 24 year old young man plays the role of a 17 year old boyfriend of a 15 year old girl (Sheena Shahabadi) who gets pregnant from him. The film comes with a message around teen pregnancy and has one of its major promotional pegs being sex education. In this exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ruslaan Mumtaz talks about the entire makeover that he had to go through for Teree Sang and how it wasn't an easy task for him to bag the lead role in the film.
Ruslaan, in real life you come with quite an impressive physique. So what did you do to look so different in Teree Sang?
I had to actually go through a complete makeover as far as my looks, physique and wardrobe were concerned. For Teree Sang, I had to lose a lot of weight. Since Sheena (Shahabadi) is practically a kid, I had to look innocent too. More so because I was playing the role of a 17 year old boy who could impregnate a girl by mistake. It was imperative that audiences are led to believe that this guy is someone who can commit a mistake. So he had to be simple and quite naive, something that can be projected only if the look and presentation is correct. He couldn't have been shown as a cool dude because then his character wouldn't have been believable at
all.
There have been interesting stories floating around how you were selected for the role. I have heard that Satish Kaushik was not really keen to cast you even though you were quite persistent.
What you have heard is half correct and half incorrect (laughs). It isn't as if Satish Kaushik wasn't keen to cast me. He actually wanted me for the role since he was quite impressed with my screen test. However, he wanted a new boy for the role and I had already signed Robby Grewal's MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar. He asked me if I could leave MP3 but that wasn't possible for me. 6 months passed by and he still hadn't found his boy (laughs). So I approached him again and told him that he would never find a better boy than me to play this role. He again said no to me but surprisingly whenever there were any auditions for different girls who were being looked for the role, he would call me. Finally, I got to know that someone else was taken for the hero's role.

Prachi Desai is someone, who, besides being an epitome of talent, is also a fragrant bouquet of talent, hard work, sincerity and dedication ...all of which comes gift-wrapped with a smile that cannot just launch a zillion ships, but also has the ability to change the directions of humongous whirlpools!
After having become a household name with the smash hit TV serial 'Kasamh Se', Prachi Desai went onto rock the Bollywood film industry with her smashing debut in Rock On. She is back with her second venture called Life Partner, in which she is paired opposite Tusshar Kapoor.
Bollywood Hungama caught up with this ever-so-chirping girl for an exclusive interview. Here are the excerpts:
Prachi, to start with, how has life been post, Rock On?
Different! It was great when Rock On had released. Everything around me was simply enormous. I just couldn't have asked for a better launch. But now, it feels that I am starting all over again. I am so used to doing TV; that getting adjusted to the medium of films is slightly taking its time. But as I said that the feeling of 'being there, doing that' is simply great!
Now that you have worked on both the mediums (TV and films), what do you find as the major difference between the two?
Undoubtedly, it's the working pattern. While a film is planned, shoot, edit et al months in advance, all that it takes is a single Friday to decide if the film will sustain at the B.O. or not. Not just that, the Friday also happens to be a day that decides the fate of the actor from that movie till his/ her next film.
Whereas TV is totally different, whereby we shoot everyday, all the while fighting for the telecast and the TRPs. We do get a chance to improvise on our skill sets and we can also gauge if the serial is catering to the audiences' taste or not.
