Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 25 Jun 2009 | 5:00 pm "Every underworld movie is perceived as Satya or Company" - Emraan
Emraan Hashmi has shot for some of his portions in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and is glad that he consented to do the film. Though he admits that initially he was skeptical about signing this Milan Luthria directed film, today he is extremely happy with his decision.
Why was he skeptical though? After all this would have been his first bona fide crime thriller? "This was the very reason due to which I had to think a multiple times before saying yes to the film", confesses Emraan, "When I look around, every underworld movie with crime as it's base wants to be a Satya or a Company. Such has been the influence of these Ram Gopal Varma films that they have set a benchmark for movies belonging to this genre. My first question to the makers was - Is Once Upon a Time in Mumbai going to follow the same line or would be aiming at breaking some new grounds?'"
Thankfully for Emraan, Milan and writer Rajat Arora (continuing to share a partnership since Taxi No. 9211 and Hat Trick) had conceived their film differently and were ready with their answers.
"I was assured that Once Upon a Time in Mumbai was not just different but also aimed at changing the preconceived notions about the way an underworld movie is presented", says a relieved Emraan, "This is something that I have also realised after shooting for bits of the film."
Still, with him coming together with Ajay Devgan in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, one can't help but bring in comparisons around similar 'jodi' that was seen in Company when Vivek Oberoi was pitted against Ajay.
"Exactly, this too was very much in mind", Emraan nods in agreement here, "Company is still fresh in everyone's memory and as I stated earlier, it has created a benchmark. So yes, with Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, this is the very benchmark we are trying to change. More than that, revealing anything about Ajay or my role would be still too early. So let's wait for a while before we can declare to the world that how different are the two films."
Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai has also been in news for the unconventional casting of Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai. Both the actors have been working extensively on their looks recreate the 70s feel.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 25 Jun 2009 | 4:49 pm Check out Rani Mukherjee's 'Sardar' look in Dil Bole Hadippa
Akshay did it, Salman did it, Saif did it and so did Ranbir. But the last person whom we ever expected to see in a Sikh man's get up was Rani Mukherjee. Yep, Rani will be seen in the get up of a Sardarji in her forthcoming YRF film Dil Bole Hadippa. Even though not much is known about this film as yet, the first image that comes to the mind on its mention is that of Rani in a Sardarji's attire along with Shahid Kapoor.
Now, Rani's look in the film has been revealed. The image shows Rani as a Sardarji, Wielding a stick in hand! If the rumors are to be believed, then, her look has been styled by none other than Mike Stringer, a very famous name in UK, who has worked on films like Dhoom 2, Gandhi My Father and Hollywood hits like Flick, Outpost, Hyperdrive etc.
For the uninitiated, Dil Bole Hadippa is Yash Raj Films' next release this year. The film is directed by Anurag Singh and stars Shahid Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Anupam Kher, Rakhi Sawant and the sultry babe Sherlyn Chopra. Rumor mills are going overdrive with the 'plot' that this film has Rani disguised as a man only to prove that women are in no way less than men. Well, we just cannot wait any longer to see Rani in full action again!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 25 Jun 2009 | 4:30 pm Akshay, Kareena can't stop kissing!

Adnan Sami's father Arshad Sami Khan's last wish was to be buried near his home in Islamabad. His funeral is to be held in the afternoon on Friday June 26.
Pakistan's president Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister Syed Yosaf Raza Gilani are expected to attend Arshad Sami's state funeral in Islamabad.
"He will be getting a full state funeral with a 21-gun salute send-off. And yes the Prime Minister and Prez are coming. My mom, son and brother are flying to Karachi from Mumbai on Thursday and from there we take a connecting flight to Islamabad where the
burial will take place on Friday after the Jumma prayers," said the heartbroken singer.
"You know he died on my brother's birthday. We did our best for him. My only regret is that we could spend only fifteen minutes of his last moments when we could've been with him much longer if my dear wife hadn't chosen that morning to visit our home. But I guess God is watching."
After his father's death on Monday June 22, Adnan immediately contacted the Indian government to allow him to fly to Islamabad. "The Indian authorities have been exceptionally co-operative and a wonderful support to me and my family in this hour of distress. I can't thank them enough," said Adnan emotionally.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Jun 2009 | 10:30 am Adnan's father to be buried in Islamabad
Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 25 Jun 2009 | 10:00 am Wishing Karisma Kapoor a very happy Birthday
Coming from a family deeply entrenched in films it was a natural choice that Karisma would one day enter the world of cinema herself. Making her film debut in 1991, Karisma went on to become one of the most popular actresses of her generation. During her career, she has been part of many commercially and critically successful films, Raja Hindustani being the most notable of them, as it was her biggest commercial success, and won Karisma her first Filmfare Best Actress Award. Later she surprised critics and audiences with her performances in art films such as Fiza in 2000 and Zubeidaa in 2001, for which she earned a Best Actress and Best Actress (Critics) awards at the Filmfare ceremony. Since then, she has worked in several films though most of them performed poorly at the box office. In 2003, Kapoor took a break from cinema.
It was at this point that Karisma tied the knot with industrialist Sanjay Kapur, CEO of Sixt India, in an hour long Sikh wedding ceremony. So today we at Bollywood Hungama celebrate this true 'Karisma' of Bollywood in wishing her a very happy birthday. You too can send in your wishes by posting them in below.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Jun 2009 | 8:20 am Wishing Aftab Shivdasani a very happy Birthday
Born in Mumbai, Aftab studied at St. Xavier's High School, and later graduated from H. R.College of Commerce in Mumbai. Aftab's first brush with the glamour world was at the age of 14 months when he was selected as the Farex baby (Baby food brand) and from then point on, Aftab shot for many TV commercials. Aftab was a fairly well-known child star in the late 1980s and early 1990s, making his Bollywood debut as a kid in Mr. India, then appearing in films such as Shahenshah, Chaalbaaz and Insaniyat.
In the film Chaalbaaz Aftab played the role of Sridevi's kid brother, which made the actor known to have had a big crush on this gorgeous Bollywood actress. Post this Aftab continued modeling for commercials till the age of 19 until he finally got a break to play the lead role. He got his first leading role in Bollywood with a starring role in director Ram Gopal Varma's Mast opposite Urmila Matondkar. At that point Aftab was still studying at H.R. College in Mumbai. The movie was however; a debacle at the box-office and Aftab was written off by the critics as he came across too young onscreen to play the lead. But Aftab won the 2000 Filmfare award's Best Debute for his acclaimed performance. Aftab also won the Best Newcomer Award for his debut performance. Since then there has been no looking back for this star as he forged a way for himself.
So on this special day Bollywood Hungama wishes Aftab a very happy birthday and may he have many more to come. If you want to send in you birthday wished to Aftab just post them in below.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Jun 2009 | 8:18 am 'Kambakkht Ishq': Guaranteed paisa-vasool

"I grew up in a middle class environment where going to the theatre to watch a movie was a monthly affair. So it had to be a grand film that we wouldn't waste our money on. It's the same case with majority Indian families today. That's why I've made sure I made a universal, paisa-vasool film," KAMBAKKHT ISHQ director Sabbir Khan makes a valid point.
Everyone's hoping [and praying] that KAMBAKKHT ISHQ does the trick. How did Sabbir bag this prestigious project? "The sole person responsible for pushing me to this stage is Sajid Nadiadwala. I'm here because of his persistent confidence in me," Sabbir reveals, adding in the same breath that Sajid noticed the spark in him after he assisted David Dhawan in MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI.
Casting the Hollywood bigwigs must've been tough. "It all started when I made a joke and Sajidbhai ended up taking it seriously. He managed to convince the actors and made it possible," Sabbir says, adding in the same breath, "Working with them [the Hollywood stars] is something I'll never forget. I'd like to recall a particular incident, while shooting with Stallone. We were shooting at Kodak Theatre and had a crowd of approx. 6,000 people that day. There was so much noise then, but the moment Stallone walked on stage, there was pin-drop silence. Such is the charisma of that man."
What is Sabbir's next move? His next movie? "Right now, I just want to take a long vacation and may be, write. My next film will be with Sajidbhai again, which is scheduled to go on floors next year," he reveals.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Jun 2009 | 7:32 am What gives Megan Fox anxiety attacks? - Times of India

Get ready to be scared again. Ramgopal Varma is ready to scare the living daylights out of you in his new outing AGYAAT, produced by Ronnie Screwvala and RGV jointly. While the promos of this film have done the trick, thus creating tremendous excitement for the film, this writer also had the privilege of watching some portions of this forthcoming film.
Shot in the dense jungles of Sri Lanka, what catches your eye is the way RGV plays with the camera and of course, the sound design. In AGYAAT, you just don't know who's out to kill the film unit shooting in Sri Lanka. Is it an Anaconda like reptile? Or is it human? Or an animal? Or something unknown [agyaat]? This film could be one of the potential winners of 2009.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Jun 2009 | 7:27 am Fardeen Khan pulls the right strings - Oneindia
