It's said that 'Reel life always imitates real life'. If you are one of those who disagree with this, we are sure that filmmaker Kanti Shah will change your belief. For starters, Kanti Shah is the 'almost King' of C-grade films. Testimonials to his filmmaking reflect in his 'creative' titles like Free Entry, Duplicate Sholay, Kabhi Kranti Kabhi Jung ('K3J'), Marna Zaroori Hai and the last released Lage Raho Partner.
The goods news for all his fans is that this man is back and how! He has announced a very 'topical' film called Rape. Yes, you heard the name right. Going by the 'USP' of this filmmaker, we are sure that the 'topicality' of this film has anything and everything related to the recent rape controversy surrounding Shiney Ahuja. When Bollywood Hungama spoke to Kanti regarding Rape, he was initially reluctant to 'reveal' anything about the plot reasoning that it was a very tight-bound script and has been strictly kept under the wraps. It took a little probing from our end to get the following 'revelation' from Kanti. He said "Yes, my latest film Rape has been heavily inspired by the Shiney Ahuja case. While the hero's name is Imran, the heroine is Sapna and both are newcomers. Mark my words; they are definitely the faces to watch out for! My film has got 5 songs in all with its lilting music composed by the very talented Sameer Sen (of Dilip Sen - Sameer Sen). Of these 5 songs, two are super duper item numbers!"
A little more probing from our end actually got us to the 'Plot' of the film. Shah added, "All that I can tell you is that since the film is called Rape, it will obviously deal with the sensitive subject of rape. And it has the hero raping the heroine. That's all. I think I have told you enough. Beyond this, I cannot tell even a word more. But, do watch out for this film soon! It's bound to rock the nation."
Well, for those who are waiting with bated breath for Kanti Shah's Rape, here's another piece of information. There's yet another film that has been 'inspired' by the Shiney Ahuja case. It's called Chamak, The Shiny with actors Hiten and Divya playing the lead.

Weirdass Productions, the production house of renowned stand-up comedian Vir Das, organized India's first ever Ham-ateur Nights. The basic aim of these Ham-ateur Nights is to give an ideal platform for upcoming talents in the field of comedy right from stand up to sketch comedy, from musical to slap stick comedy.
The first Ham-ateur Night took place at Blue Frog, Mumbai. "India has a huge pool of talent as far stand-up comedy is concerned and I hope to be able to discover and nurture these gifted individuals, by giving them a launch pad," says Vir Das.
Making the Ham-ateur Night extra special was Imran Khan who graced the event with his presence. Being a friend of Vir Das, he was invited to watch the 10 performances as they took place at the Ham-ateur Nights and later even announced a winner. The nights ended at a perfect note with Vir himself doing the closing performance.

They say that 'There is no shortcut to success'. But Akshaye Khanna and Arshad Warsi are here to change this equation in their forthcoming film Short Kut - The Con is On. The film stars the whole battalion of stars including the likes of Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, Simi Garewal, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Chunky Pandey amongst others. The film has got its lovely music composed by the talented trio of Shankar- Ehsaan- Loy.
Talking about the music, the album has got four songs. Of all the songs, there is this track called 'Kal Nau Baje' which happens to be the only romantic number in the film. While the song is picturised on the 'suddenly-so-sexy' Amrita Rao and Akshaye Khanna, it has been shot at the exotic location of Phuket islands. Well, the story doesn't end there. According to reliable sources from the film, the cast and crew used to travel for a whopping two hours to reach the middle of the ocean to shoot for the song! Not just that, their vanity vans were replaced by yachts while shooting in the sea and they used to commute in a tiny speedboat from the shore to the location.
One just hopes that all of this hard work should get translated into success for everyone associated with this film. Zayed Khan is ready for his second innings. Father Sanjay Khan will this year produce an international jungle adventure featuring Zayed and his brother-in-law Hrithik Roshan.
Just back from Macau after anchoring the 10th IIFA awards, Zayed brims over with a new cool but understated confidence.
Tragedy in the family always brings the members closer together. So it is with cousins Fardeen and Zayed Khan who after the former's father's death have been seen bonding more closely than ever before.
Always known to be fond of one another Fardeen and Zayed are now almost inseparable. Zayed has been pillar of strength for his "bro". Fardeen who finds it hard to articulate his grief to anyone else is very much at home with his cousin and had been missing Zayed in Goa where Fardeen has been shooting for the past one month for Rohit Shetty's comedy All The Best.
Trying to be funny on camera while feeling far from amused is the last thing Fardeen wants to do at the moment.
Sensing his brother's anguish, Zayed after landing in Mumbai from Macau suddenly took off for Goa on Wednesday morning to give Fardeen company.
Uncharacteristically, he went without his wife and son, a no-no as far as holidays are concerned. "But sometimes a guy just has to be with his bro," says Zayed from Goa. "We've always been close. Another week has gone by and itâs the start of a fresh new day, what better way to start something new than with a quick brain teaser, so it time now for the world famous Guess Who on Bollywood Hungama. This weekâs lass was born to a school teacher and a businessman she has an elder sister and a younger brother in a small town in Himachal Pradesh.
