The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the central agency established to encourage the good cinema movement in the country commenced the shooting of its fully produced film titled As the River Flows. The movie, inspired by a true incident, stars Victor Banerjee, Sanjay Suri, Raj Zutshi, Nakul Vaid, Naved Aslam and newcomer Bidita Bag. The film is written and directed by National Award winning filmmaker Bidyut Kotkoy.
As The River Flows tells the story of a journalist named Abhijit Shandilya who is caught in a multi-layered world of intriguing happenings in the largest inhabited river island in the world, Majuli, in Assam. The movie, a socio-political thriller, talks of social conflicts and individual commitments in an age where being self centered is the norm. .
Talking about the film Bidyut Kotkoy, the director says, "Initially, I had my apprehension regarding NFDC, considering the general conception associated with a government organisation. But I must say, my experience with them came as a pleasant surprise. With my personal experience, I can claim that NFDC still remains the best bet for a newcomer if you have a good story to tell."
As the River Flows is a bilingual film being made in Hindi and Assamese. While the Hindi version will be named as As The River Flows, its Assamese version will be called Ekhon Nedhekha Nadir Shipaare. Well-known Assamese music composer and singer Zubin Garg has composed the music of the film.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 May 2009 | 3:57 pm Big B completes 'Aladdin', working on 'Paa'Fans of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan may be in for a double treat since the actor has completed "Aladdin" and is now working on the last schedule of "Paa".Source: Entertainment News | 22 May 2009 | 3:04 pm Madame Tussauds unveils Big B's wax figureA wax figure of Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan was unveiled at Madame Tussauds New York with a "Bollywood Bash" being held at Times Square here.Source: Entertainment News | 22 May 2009 | 2:47 pm Farah Khan is a doting motherChoreographer-turned-director Farah Khan, who is currently scripting for her next project "Happy New Year", says that in spite of her professional commitments, she spends maximum time with her kids.Source: Entertainment News | 22 May 2009 | 2:42 pm Sean Penn calls off divorce

After being busy with the election campaign for almost a month, Sanjay Dutt is back to doing what he does best- 'Acting'. Sanju Baba is busy shooting with the cast and crew of Rohit Shetty's laugh-riot All The Best - Fun Begins in the sun clad beaches of Goa.
Recently, a high octane song for the film was shot on a lavish set constructed in South Goa and the biggest attraction was none other than Sanjay Dutt who looked like a true Rockstar with a dark black ganjee and a light coloured stole. After playing gangster roles in many of his recent films, this new look of Sanju Baba will surely come as a pleasant surprise to many of his fans. Sanju's look has been styled by Aalim and costumes have been designed by Navin Shetty.
For the spectacular song, Sanju was not just required to dance and perform but had to even play the drums. Apparently, Sanju Baba, who has a liking for musical instruments, was thrilled at the prospect of playing the drums and with just one rehearsal he gave the perfect shot in the first take itself.
Director Rohit Shetty, needless to say, was over the moon to see Deadly Dutt in his Rockstar avatar. Rohit says, "Sanjay Dutt is very good with instruments. In the past, I have seen his films where he used to play the guitar so effortlessly. Even in this film, he has a shot where he plays the drums. I brought in two trainers from Mumbai for him to practice and get the feel of the instruments. But Sanjay surprised me by asking if he could do it on his own. And he impressed everyone when he shot it perfectly in just one take! I ended up sending the trainers back to Mumbai!"
In the past, we have seen Sanju taking to the mike, strumming the guitar in some of his films. In All The Best - Fun Begins, his fans will get to see their favorite macho star play the drums. We're sure this itself will be among one of the USP's of this film when it opens across cinemas this Diwali.
Besides Dutt, All The Best - Fun Begins also stars Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse in lead roles.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 May 2009 | 11:15 am Jessica Parker's reel character in financial crisisWashington, (ANI): Even Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw could not escape the wrath of ongoing credit crisis.
