Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 4:32 pm Mallika Sherawat launches 'The Mallika Shake'Now before you get your dirty mind thinking, let us clarify that this is not about what you think .While some Bollywood stars have got roads, lanes, even a tulip for that matter, named after them, Mallika Sherawat certainly believes in being completely hatke from the rest. The Bollywood bombshell became the first Bollywood star to be honored with a milkshake of her name at Hollywood hotspot 'Millions of Milkshakes' in West Hollywood. The actress followed the footsteps of other Hollywood biggies like Leonardo Di Caprio, Paris Hilton and Tim Allen who have had shakes named after them at 'Millions of Milkshakes'. Mallika was recently present during the launch of 'The Mallika Shake' at the popular Hollywood hangout. 'The Mallika Shake' is a rare blend of Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, and Strawberries with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Speaking about a milkshake being named after her, Mallika said, "It's wonderful that Hollywood has welcomed me with open arms, whether its lunch with the Mayor or a milkshake being named after me. Besides it's cool to have a Mallika Shake next to a Leonardo Di Caprio Shake. I am having a great time in LA." Mallika was also extremely pleased with the way the post-production of her upcoming film Hisss is going on. "The post production of Hissss is going great. It has become the first Bollywood production to be represented by a top Hollywood agency 'Endeavor' that brokered the deal for Slumdog Millionaire," she said. Looks like the good times only seem to be getting better and better for Madame Sherawat.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 Apr 2009 | 4:17 pm Prakash Jha gets arrestedElections are just around the corner and the media houses and corporates are going all out to enhance the general voter awareness. However, even with this hi intensity media barrage, there are some who mend their way the other side to win. If the recent report is anything to go by, then filmmaker and Lok Janshakti Party candidate from West Champaran seat, Prakash Jha, was recently arrested after police raided his guest house allegedly seizing Rs 10.25 lakhs following some reports that he was apparently distributing money among voters. The bust was made as West Champaran Superintendent of Police - K S Anupam led a team of local police and central paramilitary forces in a raid at Jha's guest house around midnight where the said sum was recovered and 29 people where arrested, including the filmmaker. They were, however, later let off on furnishing personal bonds, official sources said on Wednesday. Prakash Jha, however, denied that the money was meant for distribution among the voters and said that it was meant to be paid to the labourers and other employees of the factory he is building. At the same time the filmmaker accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi of acting with vendetta against him to sully his image.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Apr 2009 | 4:17 pm Purab Kohli's thrilling shark stories in South AfricaBollywood actor Purab Kohli decided to take a trip down the wild side by diving into the great blue ocean in South Africa in the company of sharks - an experience he describes as the "most thrilling and scary moment" of his life.Source: Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 4:12 pm Book-reading disappearing in India: Javed AkhtarIn the middle of a bustling Indian book bazaar at the London Book Fair, India's most famous film lyricist said the culture of reading books is disappearing in India.Source: Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 2:50 pm Malayalam film industry deadlocked by trade unionsTwo movie shoots have been disrupted by protests over the attitude of leading stars Mammootty and Dileep, scuffles have broken out and members of film units have even been arrested.Source: Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 2:48 pm Big B teams up with Ben Kingsley for 'Teen Patti'Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is set to share the screen space with Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley in Leena Yadav's "Teen Patti" which is said to be inspired by Hollywood flick "21".Source: Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 2:46 pm Kareena postpones shoot for mom's birthdayKareena Kapoor was to leave for a month-long shoot to New York with actor boyfriend Saif Ali Khan on Monday, but she postponed the trip to celebrate her mother's birthday with the family here.Source: Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 2:45 pm Campaigning for Cong for its stand on Bhojpuri: Ravi KissenBhojpuri films superstar Ravi Kissen on Tuesday said that he is campaigning for the Congress as the party has promised a lot of things for the Bhojpuri-speaking population in the state as well as the Bhojpuri film industry.Source: Entertainment News | 22 Apr 2009 | 2:43 pm Ashton Kutcher beats media giant

As per the young filmmaker, he was feeling quite low after the failure of Home Delivery at the box office but 'Sir' (as he usually addresses Amitabh Bachchan) continued to trust his capabilities and encouraged him to go for the film. "I continue to thank Sir for that till date because he shared a simple sounding two word trick with me - 'Rise Again'! Even though Home Delivery had flopped miserably, he never left my side. I never gave up because every time I met him, he encouraged me. So my promise to him was - 'Yes Sir, I will rise again!'", says Sujoy. He particularly remembers his first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan which was years back on the sets of Baghbaan. At that time, he had gone to meet him for a different film called Borivali that he was looking at making with the veteran actor. "I met Sir for the first time and it was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life. This may sound clichéd but I was in complete awe and scared. All this while, I was wondering if I may end up saying something out of place", recollects Sujoy for whom this meeting led to countless more meetings and finally ending up with the actor consenting to do his project. "He was very kind", says Sujoy, "He took my concept and promised to read it on the flight as he was leaving for Europe that night. While there are quite a few more stories to be told about how he came on board for my film, what I can never forget is the realization that dawned upon me - "I had just spoken to Amitabh Bachchan." A fan and follower of Amitabh Bachchan, Sujoy gets on tangent in appreciation of the mega star. "For me, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar is the best 'Devdas' ever. I remember seeing it in 1978 with the audience of Kolkata, and was converted. I just wanted to do two things - 1) See every film of this actor called Amitabh Bachchan and b) get a middle parting in my hair. I think apart from Moses, Sir is the only person who can claim to have parted anything on such a large scale", he draws a metaphor here. Commenting on the huge popularity that Amitabh Bachchan has enjoyed over the decades, Sujoy mentions about this particular incident where a fan in Kolkata had jumped from the balcony of a theatre after seeing Amitabh Bachchan jumping to his death in Main Azaad Hoon. Though the fan survived, Amitabh Bachchan was shaken. "In one of our conversations, Sir narrated this incident. I could see his concern when he told me this. He felt responsible but had no idea how to stop something like that. God forbid anything happened to that fan, he would have never forgiven himself." He goes on to conclude with high admiration in his tone, "I have never seen anyone who loves his fans as much as he does and have also realized: it's great to be a star, but not easy. As Aunt May said to Peter '... with great power comes great responsibility.'"Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 Apr 2009 | 1:10 pm Jade Goody wanted mother to kill her

Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 22 Apr 2009 | 10:01 am Ranbir Kapoor plays an NRI in RajneetiRanbir Kapoor plays an NRI forced to return home to take over the family business (in this case, politics). Sounds familiar? Abhishek Bachchan played a similar role in Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar. And both characters are inspired by Al Pacino's Don Corleone in Francis Coppola's The Godfather. Ranbir of course plays a mixture of Rajiv Gandhi and Don Corleone in Rajneeti. And as coincidence would have it, both Abhishek and Ranbir had Katrina as their co-star, but with a difference. In Sarkar, Katrina's anglicized voice had to be dubbed although she played an NRI and could've easily used her accented voice for the character. In Rajneeti, Katrina gives long speeches in shudh Hindi all in her own voice. Katrina Kaif's two-minute speech in front of a 10,000-strong attentive crowd at a public rally in Bhopal for Rajneeti, has whetted Ranbir Kapoor's appetite for getting right the speeches that he needs to deliver for Prakash Jha's film when he starts shooting in August. There's just one hitch. Ranbir doesn't need to learn shuddh hindi, like Katrina did. He already knows that. He needs to cultivate an accent to sound like an America-returned Delhi boy who suddenly needs to go from monosyllabic rashtra bhasha to full-speeches. Prakash Jha has planned intense reading and speech therapy sessions for Ranbir for him to get the accented Hindustani right. To play a Harvard educated US-based NRI who must suddenly return home to look after his mother's political empire, Ranbir Kapoor in a role that Al Pacino would have liked to play, is not just all set to start shooting, he's raring to go. Ranbir won't play the reluctant politician in the usual khadi kurta-pajama dress code. "Ranbir will be very trendily dressed. He plays a young man of today," informs the director. Apparently, the character is a mix of Rajiv Gandhi and Michael Corloene from Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. Ranbir who joins the cast in August has been regularly calling and talking to the entire cast in Bhopal. Says Prakash affectionately, "He even offered to leave whatever he was doing and join us in Bhopal although his shooting starts next month. I remember one day Ajay, Nana, Arjun, Manoj were working together and missing Ranbir. So in the evening we got together in my hotel room and called him. Ranbir spoke to each of us individually. He wanted to leave everything in Mumbai and join us Bhopal." Prakash starts workshops with Ranbir after the Lok Sabha elections. Says Prakash, "Ranbir is so excited about his look, and dialogues. He needs to play a character who defines democracy in today's world. I wouldn't describe it as a multi-starrer. It's a multi-actor film. Katrina Kaif is such a revelation. She was so nervous giving a speech in front of 10,000 people. After she gave her speech I hugged her on stage and shouted out to the junta, 'Bhopal ka ticket de de kya?' As for Naseer, if I hadn't worked with him I wouldn't have been a complete filmmaker."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Apr 2009 | 9:51 am Neil locks up Mugdha to go naked! - GlamSham

But while shooting an ad with Imtiaz Ali in Chandigarh two days prior to mom's birthday Kareena suddenly decided to make April 20 a special day for her mom. Quickly wrapping up her work in Chandigarh she rushed back to Mumbai, postponed her and Saif's trip to New York by a day to arrange a small family get-together over dinner at her swanky new place in Bandra. Says Kareena, "It was just family for my Mom. That's the way she likes it. That's the way I wanted it to be. Yes, my dad was there too. And of course Saif. He's very much part of the family." Reluctant to reveal any more detail about the magical evening, Kareena says, "My mom is my world. I'd do anything with her. Postponing mine and Saif's trip to NY was nothing. What did I give my mom? My time and my love. That's all she wants." Incidentally, Saif had the cozy gathering on Monday night in splits with his jokes anecdotes and mimicry. Seeing him blend with the Kapoors at Kareena's mom's birthday, it is easy to see Saif is now the unofficial son-in-law of the family.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 21 Apr 2009 | 3:29 pm Shilpa Shetty shines in 'Hi!
