Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 3 Apr 2009 | 10:20 am "I'd just like to retreat in my cave for a while" - A.R. RahmanTired of the relentless attention during the last few months A R Rahman has a sincere request for all those who want a piece of his action. Please let him be. He needs to catch his breath. Alas, earlier commitments have forced Rahman to return to Chennai from Bangalore where he was holed up last month. Says a source very close to Rahman, "The workload is getting heavier. Rahman is inundated with work from both home and abroad. He has taken on one new Bollywood project Abbas Tyrewala's 1-800-Love, and he needs to finish Anthony D'Souza's Blue whose background score and the Kylie Minogue item are yet to be completed. On top of that Rahman has to deal with false stories about his global conquests. Like the one that said he had replaced David Beckham in a cell phone ad for a staggering free." Such stories are making Rahman extremely wary of the future. Friends feel he's being put under tremendous performance anxiety and this may reflect on the quality of his work." Says the friend, "Rahman has decided to stay completely away from the public glare for some time. He is currently spending time on the music of Abbas Tyrewala's film. Then he has called Anthony D'Souza to Chennai to complete the music of Blue. After that he will quietly leave for London and the US. Under no circumstance will he allow himself to be put under the microscope." When contacted Rahman had only one thing to say, "I'd just like to retreat in my cave for a while."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 3 Apr 2009 | 10:11 am Is Aniston behind Pitt-Jolie rift? - Oneindia

"Is 40 really a special age to be? I don't feel anything special. It's like any other day. I shot the entire day. No celebrations, nothing that I don't do normally." Nudge him a little more, and Ajay admits there was a family get-together. "My entire family, my parents, sister, brother-in-law, my wife and daughter were all together for dinner. But that's something I do every time I get the chance. Yes, there was a cake. But I didn't cut it. My daughter did." Life at 40 for Ajay means more work. "All The Best, the comedy directed by Rohit Shetty that I'm producing, is currently being shot. So I was busy shooting that. For me there's no life as satisfying as work and family." Ajay will be directing a film later this year. "It will be a dark comic thriller. And no, there will be no Kajol in it. For those who want to see us together, there's the animation film coming up titled Toonpur Ka Superhero." Ajay admits the animation film is taking longer than expected. "But that isn't because of recession. Animation is a very time-taking process. It needs lots of patience." Any new promises to keep at 40? "None! I feel physically and creatively fitter at 40 than I did at 30. The only new resolution is to devote more time to my blog. It has been renovated. I had been neglecting it. But now I intend to devote time regularly to it. Otherwise everything is the same. Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 2 Apr 2009 | 6:09 pm Love is in the air...Nandana Sen flies to London to be with beauDownload image as wallpaper Producer Madhu Mantena has planned a very special holiday in London for the love of his life. Late last week he flew into the city to make all the preparations right from reservations in her favourite hotel to arranging for her favourite flowers in her room and shopping expeditions to the shops in London that Nandana likes the best. This weekend Nandana flew into London from the US. The actress shot a film in New York and then spent time with her father Prof Amartya Sen in Boston before heading to London on Saturday. The holiday with Madhu was not on the cards until he decided to combine business with pleasure. "I was supposed to be here for the pre-production of my film 1-800-Love. But then I guess love took over work," Madhu trails off sheepishly. Madhu has planned Nandana's favourite activities for the week right down to the minutest detail. No wonder Nandana thinks she has the most faithful and dutiful boyfriend in Bollywood, so much so that Nandana's Dad too has been urging his daughter to tie the knot. Confesses Madhu, "Yes, the Professor is fond of me, though I'm from a different state, culture and intellectual bent. I've done my Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge on him (remember how Shah Rukh Khan won over Kajol's dad?). Now if only Nandana would say yes." A bigger plan on the anvil is a tailor-made film for Nandana that Madhu wants to produce specially for her. "I saw her in Rang Rasiya. And I was bowled over," says the proud boyfriend.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 2 Apr 2009 | 5:08 pm Amitabh Bachchan tops India celeb power listMUMBAI (Reuters) - Amitabh Bachchan, arguably India's biggest superstar, beat Bollywood rivals Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in a survey tracking India's most powerful celebrities.Source: Reuters: Bollywood News | 2 Apr 2009 | 4:58 pm BIG Animation's Little Krishna to grace the small screenPune based BIG Animation, a part of Reliance Big Entertainment, has completed 13 episodes of their much anticipated high-end 3D animated television series Little Krishna. Based on traditional tales of Krishna's childhood adventures, the series is an outcome of seven years of research and two-and-a-half years of production by the studio's 280 plus team in collaboration with The India Heritage Foundation. The 23-minute episodic series has been created in English language, but has also been dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. BIG Animation's CEO Ashish Kulkarni said, "Krishna is the most known and revered brand having a cult following across the world, beyond the people of Indian origin. Secondly, the series has been created using state of the art 3D computer generated character animation in a manner that combines Indian design motifs with classical Western styles." While the primary target group is children in the age group of 7-9 years, the product is positioned as a family entertainer. Each episode is parceled as one story carefully integrated as two themes, one soft, and the other full of action, running parallel in each episode. Scripted by Emmy Award winner Jeffrey Scott, directed by Vincent Edwards and R. Balasubramaniam, the music for the series has been done by Varaprasad. "The design team at BIG Animation left no stone unturned to research every style aspect of the land of 'Vraj', where these stories took place 5000 years ago. The backgrounds, art direction, color keys and all other elements of detailing were thoroughly researched upon unearthing every possible reference and finally deciding on the designs that will suit the contemporary formats." Besides broadcasting and home video sales, the studio is looking at opportunities in new media- webisodes, mobisodes and licensing and merchandise.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 2 Apr 2009 | 4:45 pm This July, Mumbai floods are back with Emraan-Bhatt's 'Tum Mile'Four years back, the infamous Mumbai floods had created headlines world over. True to their reputation, the Bhatt brothers have taken a cue from these headlines and finished Tum Mile, a film that has the 2005 floods as its backdrop. Directed by Kunal Deshmukh of Jannat fame, the film stars Vishesh Films' blue eyed boy Emraan Hashmi along with Soha Ali Khan and is all set for a 24th July release. Says a unit source, "The film sees the return of Sony Music and Vishesh Films who had collaborated just a few weeks back for Raaz - The Mystery Continues. Not only was the horror flick biggest hit ever for Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Films, even if one looks at the quarter gone by, Raaz - The Mystery Continues is the first and the only hit of 2009." He does make a point when while stating the fact that this is no mean feat considering that some of the biggest stars and biggest movies were released in the first quarter of 2009. "Look at Akshay Kumar's Chandni Chowk To China, Shah Rukh Khan's Billu, Abhishek Bachchan's Delhi 6 or Farhan Akhtar's Luck By Chance - not a single film turned lucky and actually sunk without a trace." Says Mukesh Bhatt, "We have always maintained that content is the King. We have backed strong content and now the icing on the cake is that we also have a top actor (Emraan Hashmi) amongst us. This only makes the project bigger and better." Not much is revealed about the story line of the movie though except for the fact that it is a love story with a backdrop of infamous 26th July'05 Mumbai floods. Apparently, the characters played by Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan get trapped in the floods. Insiders have been raving about the canvas of the film since these floods on the streets of Mumbai have been re-created. "You should have been on the sets to believe it", says Emraan Hashmi, "Water level there was scary enough to actually drown people. Kunal (Deshmukh) wanted the situation to be an exact replica of the horrific flood situation that the city faced that fateful night. It was difficult to even imagine how commuters would have struggled with no support whatsoever." The film is also special for another reason. Though Raaz - The Mystery Continues saw Bhatts coming together with a team of different composers, Tum Mile marks the coming back of Pritam whose last association with them had resulted in blockbuster musical success Jannat'. Earlier, he has also worked on the music of Awarapan, Gangster and Woh Lamhe for the Bhatt banner. Tum Mile is not the first film though which has been based on the 2005 floods. A small time film called 26th July at Barista was released without any fanfare last year. The film had starred newcomers like Kabier Sawhney and Simran Vaid and was touted as a tribute to all the people of Mumbai who faced this hard reality and overcame it. However, the film had arrived unannounced and sank without a trace.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 2 Apr 2009 | 4:27 pm Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya receive Padma Shri from President of IndiaTuesday 31st of March 2009 is a day Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won't forget for the rest of their lives.
