Obama uses "smart diplomacy" against America's enemies

Obama said during the campaign that he would be willing to sit down and meet with people who hate America and everything it stands for, and he's already kept his promise. Considering the ultimate "opt-out"? Five ways to choose life during the Recession

And this season, one of the Housewives, Lauri, dropped out because her son is a heroin addict. Ok, that's you, and like Lauri, you should drop out. Cushion your rude awakening gradually by deleting one Season Pass per day, of any show on Bravo, E or VH-1. Begin with Bromance. Then sell your TIVO so you can buy...

Can Obama save a business just by showing up? If yes, can he stop by later?

The Times reports that DC is expected to experience a restaurant resurgence simply because Barack Obama is going to be eating food there. Apparently, all Obama has to do is show up at a restaurant and it will be "on the map" and doing big business.

Couldn't this work for other industries as well? We've already been reading how Obama is helping promote the Blackberry just by using one. Maybe this is the solution to the sagging economy. Just have Obama travel across the country and showing up at places and buying stuff. For example:

- Bank Failures: Do you run a bank that's about to crumble? Are your depositers lined up outside and they're starting to throw bricks now? No worries. Just have Obama walk into one of your branches and open an account. Twenty minutes of video footage of Obama sitting across from one of your branch reps learning about free checking and your bank will become the "hot new bank for hopeful America." You can even start an ad campaign: "Obama opened an account here. Do what he did." You'll soon find your branches swarming with wide-eyed Obama fans (each of whom has about 80 bucks to their name).

Great moments in presidential athletics

Barack Obama loves his basketball, so much so that he's already taken heat for daring to suggest that the White House replace the Nixon-era bowling alley with a new basketball court. As it stands, the only place to shoot hoops at the White House is a small, poorly maintained court smaller than many suburban driveways. That's expected to change once Obama takes office.

Though Obama's love of the game is well-documented, residents of the Oval Office have historically had a fond appreciation for sports. We've revisited some of the best moments in presidential athleticism, which, frankly, is enough of an excuse for us to not go to the gym.
