Check Out: SRK, Kajol and KJo on the sets of My Name Is Khan

By now every Bollywood buff is well aware that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are busy shooting for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan in the US of A. While a few days ago, we showed you some on the sets stills of SRK and KJo having fun whilst shooting, today we bring you the 'Awesome Threesome' of SRK, Kajol and KJo on the sets of My Name Is Khan. While SRK and Kajol are dressed in black formals with dark black shades (a-la Men in Black), even Karan Johar is seen in a black fur coat. One of the shots even has SRK holding a walkie-talkie. Wonder if he is doling out instructions to his staff or following KJo's orders? My Name Is Khan has SRK playing a person suffering from an autism related disorder, who gets into trouble with cops abroad especially because of his surname 'Khan'. Kajol plays SRK's better-half in the film. The film is among the most awaited films of the year as it brings together the trio of SRK, Kajol and KJo after a hiatus of 8 years. We too can't wait to see Bollywood's hottest jodi create on screen magic one more time.

"I will never write a film again" - Nikhil Advani

After writing and directing Salaam-E-Ishq, Nikhil Advani completely swore off writing. This is why he was more than happy to just hold the reins of a director in Chandni Chowk To China even as writers Sridhar Raghavan and Rajat Arora went all out in getting the homework done. "Seriously, I don't' want to write at all. I have tried it once in Salaam-E-Ishq and have seen the results. I just wrote that film because I was a little impatient and just wanted to get started. Also, there was a scarcity of good writers at that time which forced me to pen the script. Today, that's not the case; we have wonderful writers out there so why not allow them do their job. I never wanted to be a writer and I will never be one", says Nikhil Advani. When there are quite a few writer-directors in Bollywood, why doesn't he want to take a second chance? "Well, that's good if some people can handle both but it doesn't really work for me. When you are shooting for a film, it is a moment of inertia that you operate in. It is the process of editing where the film takes its final shape and things have to come under control. If you are also a writer, it becomes tough to see your work being edited. You don't have any perspective left after the shooting ends and start believing that everything that has been shot is relevant in the final cut", he explains. No wonder, from a 3 hr 30 mins long lasting Salaam-E-Ishq, he has moved to a 2:30 hours Chandni Chowk To China. "And to think of it, I started off with a 2 hr 20 mins long final cut", he smiles, "I later added 10 minutes by retaining some shots that I had originally cut. See, the important thing is to learn. At the time of Salaam-E-Ishq, I was a very different director and today I am different. Still, no regrets about the past because whatever mistakes I had made then, they were with my open eyes." He admits that he has changed as a human being as well. "At that time, I was quite stubborn and didn't want to cut a few scenes in Salaam-E-Ishq, even though before the release itself many suggested that I re-edit it. I was super confident that people would accept the film in the manner I would present to them." He can't forget the support that he got from his wife during the times of turmoil when Salaam-E-Ishq, which was touted to be a big money spinner before the release, bit the dust. "I was quite disappointed when the film didn't run and if not for my wonderfully supportive wife, I would have been devastated. It was she who turned around and said that after the fall, I needed to dust myself, get back on my horse and start from scratch", he says fondly.

A look at Mithun Chakraborty's character in CC2C

While Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone are going all out to promote their latest flick Chandni Chowk To China, let's not forget that the film has yet another veteran actor in an important role. Yes Ladies and Gentleman…we are talking about none other than Mithun Chakraborty. While Mithun has been seen here and there in the promos of the film, not much is known about his character. We quizzed director Nikhil Advani about Mithun da's role in the film. "Mithun da has a very important role in the film. He plays Akshay's foster parent. Akshay calls him Dada. He owns a Dhaba. He is the one man Akshay should be listening to but never listens to", says Nikhil. If the buzz is to be believed then Mithun's character does bring in a lot of emotional moments to the film. "Yes, Mithun's character is the emotional backbone of the film. Because of the tragedy that happens to Mithun, the entire film changes" It would be interesting to see the coming together of current superstar Akshay Kumar share screen space and veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty for the first time ever.

Abhay Deol on the cover of MW

He is the youngest and also the 'romanti-sized' of the Deol clan. Even though he may not have the proverbial 'dhaai kilo ka haath' or even mouth dialogues like 'Kutte...main tera khoon pee jaaonga', he still has managed to capture everyone's attention alike and is making a mark in the industry. No wonder then, he is the chosen one for this month on the cover of the famous magazine 'MW'. Abhay, on his part, is all over the place with his much talked about film Dev D that's all set to hit the screens anytime now. In the free willing interview, the junior most of the Deols speaks about everything under the sun, right from his debut film Socha Na Tha till Dev D. He zooms off saying that 'At the age of 10 years, I saw Star Wars and got corrupted after that, it completely took over my imagination and my aversion to song and dance started. Bollywood sequences are so raunchy. Besides, no song and dance will take a story forward." When asked about Devdas (that's supposed to be the alleged inspiration behind Dev D), Abhay says, "Sanjay Bhansali's Devdas was a pretty package with nothing inside. It was so melodramatic. There was nothing subtle about it. And the Chandramukhi-Paro dance together! That was classic!" How sarcastic! The story just doesn't end here. This dashing Deol practically dissects every film of his and gives the logical reasoning as to why the film flopped or was a hit. Overall, this issue of MW is a must-buy for all you Abhay fans. After all, not everyday, you have a Deol speaking straight from the heart!

"I don't yell from the top of my voice about being the lead" - Emraan Hashmi

For Emraan Hashmi, playing an integral character in a film is the most important thing to do regardless of the screen space he gets. So whether it is a small but critical role in Kalyug or an obsessive lover with villainous shades in Murder or one of the three key characters in Raaz - The Mystery Continues, he approaches them with all the honesty and integrity. Ask him if he is the main lead in the film or Adhyayan Suman and he goes on to reply, "I don't really get into topics like these because gone are the days when there was the concept of a hero or a main lead. I pick up a film when I am very convinced about a role because it's the depth in the character that matters most. If I like it, I go ahead and do it. I don't get into matters where I have to worry about whether the person other than me in the film has a meatier role." Stating examples about how he has maintained this strategy from the very beginning of his career that saw him playing second lead to Aftab Shivdasani in Footpath, he goes on to add, "If I had thought on those lines, would I have done Murder considering it was supposed to be Mallika's film? When I do a film, I move ahead and let the audience decide whose film it was. I don't yell from the top of my voice that 'This is MY film'. The same holds good for Raaz - The Mystery Continues as well." Some actors choose to do that though. They want the world to know that they have the most important part to play in a film. "Other actors may have different work priorities, I have my own. I work for the betterment of the character; the way the director wants me to play it. At the end of the day, a film is much bigger than the actor. And by the way, whenever I have a special appearance in the film, I haven't hidden it. There is no point being dishonest to your audience. In case of Kalyug, I had told people that I had a special appearance and it was basically a Kunal (Khemu) film", remembers Emraan Hashmi. Which means he has a full fledged role in Raaz - The Mystery Continues even though all the romance seems to be reserved for Kangna and Adhyayan Suman? "Absolutely. I have a full blown character to enact in Raaz -TMC. As for who romances whom in the film, then well, watch the film", he winks before signing off.

The recent terror attacks in Mumbai and the dangerous cocktail of terrorism and politics that our leaders are now engaging in are testing our nation's unity. It has been said that peace is far too important to be left to politicians alone. We require people to stand together, resolute and unanimous in the face of mud-slinging, war-mongering and jingoism. The Mumbai Marathon is a powerful symbol of our nation's oneness in this difficult time and I am proud to be a part of it ". The Mumbai Marathon is indeed one such occasion where differences melt away and the entire city comes together to show the spirit of oneness.
