Randeep Hooda discharged from hospital

Earlier this week, Randeep Hooda had a mishap while playing a polo match. The actor's team was facing stiff competition from their opponents during a Polo event at the Mahalaxmi Race Course. Randeep attempted to hit a goal and as he swung into action, his 550 kg horse slipped and fell on the actor thereby breaking his ankle. Randeep was immediately rushed to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai where doctors detected a deep fracture. Randeep underwent a surgery and had a steel plate screwed onto his ankle bone. Even though the actor was discharged today he will not be allowed to walk for the next six weeks during recuperation. Randeep will be itching to bounce back into action as in the next two months three of his films are being released - Ketan Mehta's Rang Rasiya, where he will be seen essaying the character of the enigmatic and flamboyant, pioneering painter Raja Ravi Verma; Mere Khawabon Mein Jo Aaye -where he portrays 18 different characters including Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Humphry Bogart, James Bond, Zorro etc; and Love Khichdi, where Randeep plays a testosterone-driven chef, paired opposite seven actresses. We wish the actor a speedy recovery.

On a special date with Mugdha Godse

Download image as wallpaper You need to be damn lucky to get a date and day to meet the slim and sexy Mugdha Godse. Why? Because ever since Fashion has released, she has become the talk of the town. The busy babe is seen gracing all the red carpet events in Mumbai and the rest of the cities across the country. It's not me who is telling you this; it's the Page 3 of the national newspapers who cannot do without 'Mughs'. But I remember the day I called her up from London after watching Fashion and showered compliments for her role of Janet Sequeira, and boy! She talks tough man! I did manage to interview her for her power packed bindaas role too. Went well, I should say. So now that I'm in town, I had to hunt her down. It was a bit of a struggle for the D-day to arrive after sending her five to six text messages in three weeks. I'm not complaining but I was more than excited to meet the opinionated smiling Pune chick in a land of larger than life Indians...Mumbai. The clock kept ticking and the right time arrived. The date was set - December 22, the day confirmed - Monday and the place decided - JW Marriott. All good. She was punctual and I was 10 minutes late. I didn't even apologise. How evil of me not to. But you see her and you forget what apology means. Quietly playing around with her newly gifted Blackberry she sensed me walking towards her... and there she was, dressed down for her date. No showing off business. Wearing dark blue denims, a black polo neck top with a blue vest over it and in her black Adidas trainers she looked the 'sex and the city' types, the alpha woman, who blissfully steamrolls through life getting what she wants due to her superior looks and charisma. We greet each other with a welcome hug and sat at arms length in the Bombay Bakery Coffee shop of the hotel. She finishes her pending text message, pours some mineral water in her glass, and off we went on a chatting spree: Devansh Patel: Wow! We finally meet up. Mugdha Godse: Yeah, finally, after a lot of phone calls and text messages. MG: Do you want something to eat? DP: I'm not that hungry. Why don't you order what you want and I'll have something to drink instead. (The waiter gets us the menu) MG: I'm going to order some chicken salad. What about you? DP: I am very bad at this. I'll order salad too. MG: It won't be filling for you. Why don't you eat something which can fill you up. It's dinner time anyway. DP: You're right. But I've been living on vada pav, samosas and junk food since three weeks and now want to burn my fat. MG: I like journos who take care of their health and body. DP: Well, that's the way I am. MG: Sorry, but I am dressed down today. Can't be bothered. DP: You still look good in what you're wearing. I haven't even ironed my shirt. Actually, it's not supposed to be ironed. MG: But I like that non iron feel of it. It suits you. And you know what; you actually don't look like a journo. DP: I've heard that before. But there isn't a dress code for journos. MG: Yeah I know but you still don't look like one. DP: Cannot argue with you. You win. But thank you for the compliment. (The waiter walks in to take our order for food and drinks) MG: I'll have a chicken salad. DP: I'll go for the same. MG: I don't think you should have the ghaas-puus. We models and actors always thrive on these things. Why don't you order a sandwich or Panini? DP: Ok, let's go with your plan. I'll have a chicken and ham sandwich with a cold coffee. DP: It looks like you're endorsing Mont Blanc. The way you're sitting, I can notice the Mont Blanc showroom over your head. MG: (laughs) Yeah but dare you click a picture. DP: (laughs) Don't worry. I won't. MG: I look ten times around me when I sit somewhere. DP: Good observation Mugdha. MG: Thank you. You see, I'm learning. I have learnt a lot from Madhur. DP: So tell me what have you learnt from Mr. Bhandarkar? MG: The tricks of the trade and how to deal with the media. DP: What do you mean? MG: He has told me one thing very certain. Be open to the media in such a way that whatever you say, they can quote you on it. Don't be a diplomat. DP: That's quite interesting… MG: Yeah it is and that's the way I am. DP: Hearing you talk since quite a while, you come out to be quite a no-nonsense girl, a bindaas one. MG: I am bindaas in real life just like my character Janet was in the film. DP: So what other projects have you signed after Fashion? MG: I knew you would ask me this question. DP: I knew you would say this (laughs). MG: (laughs) You're funny. I like it. I am in talks with a few corporate houses but am taking it easy right now. I don't only look into the banner but also the director and my co-stars. Thanks to the recession, I can ponder over what I want to do next. Plus my flat is also getting renovated. DP: I know that since a week because the guy who helped you get your house is my close friend's mate. MG: Oh really? DP: Yes. I also heard that you're moving here and there. Is Marriott your new home now? MG: (laughs) Not really. I am staying for a couple of days at each of my friends place. As soon as my house is done, I'll move in. DP: So how's your house coming up? MG: The house isn't having a complete make-over as such. I'm making a whole new big wardrobe for myself. I've got so many clothes that I cannot decide where to put them. This huge wardrobe will be the apt thing. DP: I sometimes wonder, don't you ever miss being normal? MG: I do yaar. That's why I am in my normal attire today. I didn't feel like dressing up. I still can't do without my Kalnirnay calendar, the Marathi annual calendar you get here. I've got it hung up inside my cupboard. My mom hung it right in the middle of our living room (laughs). (The waiter serves us the salad and sandwich along with the coffee and as soon as the food is kept on the table, we both say something together) DP: The food looks good. MG: I'm sure it'll taste even better. DP: I love cooking. MG: Can you cook? DP: Yes, why? MG: You're damn lucky. You will never be starving in your life (laughs) MG: Are you enjoying your sandwich? DP: Of course. Thank you. But it seems that you're not. Why are you keeping all the green and red capsicum aside? You should eat them. MG: I don't like it. DP: Talking about capsicums, I can cook lovely jeera capsicum ki sabji with chane ka aata. MG: Did you cook while you were in London? DP: Yes I did. I love it. If I wasn't a journo, I would've been a cook. (Mugdha calls the waiter again to order something) MG: I'll have some black coffee please. DP: That's a nice way to finish off your dinner, isn't it? MG: I love black coffee. DP: I love it too but have already had four cups since morning. Otherwise I would've given you company. DP: Have people told you that you've got a good smile? MG: Thank you. Not really but some have. DP: Do remember me when you get your first toothpaste commercial. MG: (laughs) I will indeed. You're too funny. DP: Aren't there any sofas around? I am feeling a bit uncomfortable in the chair. It's like sitting on a rock. MG: Yeah there are some sofas near the bar area. Let's go there then. You can relax a bit there. (We get up and move to the bar area where the lovely soft cushioned sofas welcome us) DP: Wow! That's much better. MG: Glad you're feeling better. DP: So newcomer, what's with you on all the pages of the newspapers gracing all the red carpet events? MG: (laughs) What do I do? I get the invites and I go. DP: Now you're being a diplomat. Madhur has taught you not to be one, remember? MG: (laughs) I am not. But I hardly get noticed. I am too new. It's just that I wear some nice dresses, go to the event, the cameras click and you see me in the papers the next day. DP: Good answer (laughs). So how was it to meet Ranbir Kapoor? MG: Good. We met during one such event. He is a very shy and a quiet person I should say. There was Sikandar Kher too. DP: As we are getting a bit more casual, you don't mind if I get a bit personal? MG: Not really. What's your question? DP: Why don't we see you with your boyfriend at such events? MG: I am no longer with him. We have split up but now we are good friends. We do talk to each other but are not in a relationship. MG: That's a nice brown bag you're carrying. Matching shoes too. Show me the belt you're wearing. DP: I don't wear belts. I like it loose. MG: In that case, I give you 6 on 10 for your over all looks today. If you were wearing the belt, you could've got one more point. DP: So now you're rating me? (laughs) MG: I like doing this. But as I said earlier, you don't look like a journo. DP: Ok. Let me rate you then. I give you 5 on 10. MG: What? DP: (laughs) I am joking. Today you get 7 on 10. You win. MG: Thank you. DP: Have you been meeting a lot of directors off late for any role in the film? MG: Yes, I am. But very few at the moment. Some have given me options. You'll soon come to know. DP: Do you know Madhur is playing around with his idea of making a film on Award Functions? MG: Yes, I heard that but I think it'll then be a mix of everything. Page 3, Corporate and Fashion. DP: Are you saying that he shouldn't make it? MG: That's not what I mean. I am just giving my view point. DP: Actually, come to think of it, you're right. DP: So what are you upto these days? MG: I just finished shooting for Farhan's show Oye, It's Friday! with Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The show will be aired on the last Friday of the year. DP: Hey, that's a show I'll most definitely look forward to. MG: Yeah. You have to watch it. It has shaped up pretty well after a long, long wait. DP: Why long, long? MG: I waited for so long for my turn. I mean, they wanted to make it look real. So they shoot a bit of my portion, then they go back to the other person, then again come back to me, so on and so forth. It's too time consuming for celebs who have to wait for so long. But that's how the show's requirements are. It's a different experience and I have to accept it. DP: Tell me something that no one knows about. MG: You want the scoop don't you? DP: No baba, just asking you a question. Why do you give names? MG: There is an offer which has come from London to write in one of the top newspapers as a guest columnist. DP: That's good. What do you write? MG: I love writing about life, psychology, etc. I love those topics. You will soon find that out in the New Year. DP: From a model to an actor to a guest columnist. Wow! I'm impressed. MG: Thank you. I'm just trying to keep busy in times of recession. DP: Will you have anything to drink? MG: (laughs) DP: Why do you laugh? MG: I remembered something. DP: Go on then. MG: My father is a banker and he takes care of my expenses. So one day, during my modelling days, at the end of every month, I have to give him all the receipts which, believe it or not, had more alcohol and liquor bills than my shopping bills. Not that I am a drunkard. It's just that when we go out, we tend to drink a glass of wine or any liquor. He used to be shocked (laughs) (The waiter from the bar area walks towards us and tells us to vacate the area as it was reserved by someone else before we sat in) DP: I think we should leave now. MG: Yeah, we should. (We walk towards the reception area where all of a sudden Mugdha stops) DP: What happened? MG: I am trying to take out the valet parking card so it saves time. DP: Good timing! Well, I hope you had a good time today. MG: I did and I hope you did too. DP: Of course yes. MG: Wait, I need to take out something else too. DP: Now what do you intend to take out to save time? MG: This is not to save time but to cherish the time we had today. It's my new Canon camera with which I will click our picture. (Mugdha and I stand near the beautifully decorated flowers which were made to look like a big Christmas tree. She flips the camera, we both make a happy smiley face, the flash goes on, a click sound and there we have it. A picture perfect moment which will never be forgotten)

Meet the Ghajini-ed Santa this Christmas

This Christmas, Bollywood buffs are in for a Royal treat as one of the most anticipated films of the year Ghajini opens across cinema halls on Dec 25th. In the last couple of weeks, there has been a publicity blitzkrieg undertaken by Aamir Khan and Co. who has left no stone unturned in promoting the film. If one switches on any T.V. channel, surf through any website or browse any newspaper, chances are brightest that you will notice some or the other news revolving around Ghajini. In fact even Aamir's hairstyle in the film has become a fashion statement of sorts what with many youngsters sporting the same hairdo. Hence it indeed made us chuckle when we saw this cartoon in a popular tabloid. The image shows even lovable Santa Claus sporting a Ghajini haircut in keeping with the latest fashion trend. Must say even the poor big Rich Santa hasn't been spared from the Ghajini fever!!! Image Courtesy - Mid-Day (Satish Acharya)
