Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 25 Nov 2008 | 5:10 pm "I would have been crushed had Bobby said No" - Tarun MansukhaniThe world would have thought that with Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham, Tarun Mansukhani had found his perfect star cast for Dostana. But wait, that's not the case. And that's because without the man who plays the fourth most important character in this Karan Johar film, Tarun may not have been as ecstatic as he is today. The man is none other than Bobby Deol and as per Tarun; Dostana wouldn't have been the project it is today if not for the presence of Bobby Deol. Though Bobby's presence in the film has met with mixed reactions, Tarun continues to stand by his man who he believes was the first and the last choice for the role. Also, the one which was THE most perfect! "When I wrote the part for this particular character in Dostana, Bobby was the first person I could think of. Even though I didn't know him, I knew that he had to be in the film. Karan (Johar) gave him a call and his first response was not too encouraging. He point blank said that he wasn't quite willing to do the kind of role he was offered", details Tarun. It was almost a fairy tale outing for Tarun who felt that he had lost Bobby for Dostana. "Somehow the meeting was arranged with Bobby and I asked him whether he was interested in me narrating only his part or the entire film. Since he had the time, he gave me a go ahead to narrate the whole film. What happened next was truly surreal. He was rolling away with laughter and stated then and there that he would love to be a part of the film." Tarun couldn't hide his shock though. "I was completely taken aback since I wasn't quite hoping him to say yes so soon. I was quiet and it was only when Bobby asked me whether I still wanted him for the film that I came back to my senses. It was like a dream coming true because he is such a fantastic human being, a talented actor and an ultra professional." Talking about professionalism, Tarun reveals, "For a 9:30 am shot, he would be ready at 9:25 am. He is a blue blooded person and truly a film royalty. When he stands up, he has a persona of his own. Really, this role had to be done by Bobby Deol. I would have been crushed if Bobby would have said, No. Though he has a special appearance in the film, it indeed has in true terms being extra special for me."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 25 Nov 2008 | 3:53 pm 'More steamy scenes in next Bond film'

Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 25 Nov 2008 | 10:36 am Arjun Khanna to design Sanjay Dutt's Ganglord look for Gangs Of LondonSanjay Dutt is on a role-buying spree. After playing a military intelligence officer in Lamhaa, he's all set to play a ganglord in Gangs Of London which starts shooting in July 2008. The project has gone through some radical changes. The original director ad filmmaker Shamim Desai has been replaced by Jassi Walia. Desai who was Dino Morea's business partner at one time was also relieved of his duties from Dino whose first production Desai was supposed to direct. "My brother Jassi who's studied filmmaking in New York is directing Gangs Of London now," confirms producer Bunty Walia. "Jassi has been researching the various ethnic gangs of London and their looks. And he has come up with this incredible look for Sanjay." Apparently, Dutt who is rapidly losing weight is still to lose the paunch. But by the time Gangs Of London starts shooting in July, Dutt is expected to say farewell to all the flab. Informs Walia, "While we had used Sanju's salt-and-pepper bearded look in Lamhaa earlier for Mr Bachchan in Ek Ajnabee, the look we've designed for Sanju in Gangs Of London has never been tried before." Dutt plays the leader of the 'Khalsa' gang in a London neighbourhood which protects the Asian community from drug abuse and prostitution. Bobby Deol is expected to play Dutt's brother. Also confirmed for Gangs Of London are Suniel Shetty, Shaad Randhawa, Dino Morea and Tusshar Kapoor. All of them play members of Dutt's gang. And if Shabina Khan has styled Dutt's salt-and-pepper look in Lamhaa, it's Arjun Khanna providing the deadly Dutt with an all-leather chains-and-boots look for Gangs Of London. There's just one problem with sporting an all-specific as-per-film look. Dutt can't shoot for any other film. Two songs of Ajay Chandok's Chatur Singh Two Star are pending until Dutt finishes shooting Lamhaa with his film-specific new look. And now it would be the 'Khalsa' look that would keep Dutt bound to one project. Chuckles Walia, "It's not so much a Catch 22 situation for Sanju as it is a Catch-Dutt situation for me. By giving him a specific look, I'm making sure I can hold on to his attention and dates at one stretch with no distractions."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Nov 2008 | 10:34 am Hindu protest forces Husain film off Goa Film FestivalPANAJI (Reuters) - India's most prestigious film festival has put off screening a decades-old documentary by its best known painter after complaints from Hindu nationalists who oppose the artist for sketching Hindu deities in the nude.Source: Reuters: Bollywood News | 25 Nov 2008 | 10:31 am Aditya Chopra seals his new girl's mouth - Oneindia

However, Celina is getting herself a BMW to cheer herself up this birthday. "I need that boost. I've been working hard and my Golmaal Returns is a hit. So I need to indulge myself. I know a girl's best friend are diamonds. But she needs a posh car to get to the jewellery store. So a BMW. And then I'm lucky in so many ways. I've friends who are so supportive. And parents who love me for what I am." "It's a rather happy place to be in. Unfortunately, none of my family members are really in Mumbai to celebrate my birthday with me. And to me that's not a very happy birthday for me." Celina spent the day with destitute girls whom she sponsors. "It's an organization called Regina Spaces which looks after destitute girls. I'm associated with it. I threw a birthday party for my girls. Nothing makes me happier than seeing them smile. Wish my family was here." Celina describes herself as unlucky in love. About time I got lucky in love."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Nov 2008 | 10:07 am Abhay Deol turns producer; revives JunctionProduction bug has bitten Abhay Deol as well. He is turning producer with Junction and has named his production company as 'Forbidden Films'. "Why 'Forbidden Films'? Because it gets the point across about the kind of films I wish to make. So many times I hear statements like 'this kind of film won't work' or 'a subject like this is a taboo'. I want to make such films and show that they can indeed work. I like the name of my production house since it is not overbearing or stylish but rather quite nice and simple", says Abhay Deol whose Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is all set to arrive this Friday. Junction would be the first film to arrive under Abhay Deol's banner. However, it's shooting would begin only in September/October 2009. The film was supposed to begin last year with a different producer, so how did Abhay come into picture? "A lot the factors were responsible for the delay in making the film; let's not get into that. However, I and Atul Sabharwal, the man who would be directing Junction, believed in the subject and wanted it to be made. During those times I too was in a phase where I wanted my film to be made and marketed in a particular way. Atul and I were going through these thoughts around how to get the film a right platform. We were thinking if it would be a good idea to get some big studios back the project. This is when I decided on turning producer myself", details Abhay Deol who would be working with seventh debutant director once Junction hits the floors. "Ask me", smiles Abhay, "In fact I had all but decided after working with six debutant directors on Socha Na Tha, Ahista Ahista, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Manorama Six Feet Under and Meridian (unreleased) that my upcoming films would have established directors. I did get one for Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! [Dibakar Banerjee] but the moment Atul narrated the subject to me, I had to change my decision. I went like - 'Oh no, agaaaaain' (smiles)! But then to be honest, I have a lot of faith in Atul. He is a real cool guy and has written the film's script as well. I really like him." Elaborating on the trust that continued to build for Abhay, he details, "I couldn't help myself if Atul sounded promising even though he was to direct his first film. Meanwhile he also made a 20 minutes short film called Midnight Lost and Found. I was truly vindicated since the film was so amazingly made. The film has already traveled film festivals and winning accolades. I could afford saying to myself that I was bang on in my judgment about him and his work." What was it that impressed him most about his work? "It was not just the storyline that Atul came up with but the entire atmosphere that he managed to create in the narrative. Now that's the hardest thing to capture. All the debutant directors that I have worked with have been great and have moved on to bigger and better projects. Touchwood! I am sure Atul would meet the same fate after Junction. He is such a sorted out guy", says Abhay fondly. Junction was supposed to star the 'Chak De' girls Vidya Malvade and Shilpa Shukla. Do they stay on to be the part of the star cast? "As of now I know for sure that I am acting in it though nothing is concrete about the leading ladies. It's a wait and watch situation and things would get clearer in some time", signs off Abhay.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Nov 2008 | 10:05 am How can I forget Salman for what he did: Ghai - Indian Express

"He's not a bad boy. He's grossly misunderstood," Ghai tells me. Ghai and Salman also had a spat before they shook hands and Ghai announced YUVVRAAJ. "Yes, we fought and made up. Today, we're friends. Not many people offered me a helping hand after KISNA flopped. I approached a lot of actors, but all I got were unfulfilled assurances and promises. When I approached Salman, he didn't ask questions, he said he was keen to work with me. How can I ever forget that?" Ghai gets emotional. However, Salman's lackadaisical approach towards work -- reporting late on shoots -- was one of the reasons why YUVVRAAJ got delayed. True? "The film got delayed due to several reasons. I was keen on making certain changes and that took time. As for Salman reporting late for shoots, all I'd like to say is that he ensures that he completes his work on time, before we pack up for the day. Every director has to be a meticulous planner. If a certain star is arriving later in the day, he should be able to wrap up portions with other actors. If you can't, you aren't a good planner," Ghai adds. Reportedly, Ghai's Mukta Arts has had a 3-film deal with SRK, of which TRIMURTI and PARDES have already released. What about the third project? Ghai pauses for a while, before answering this, "It's a tricky question. I had approached Shah Rukh for MOTHERLAND. We also started working on the script, but the project didn't materialise for two reasons. One, the subject bore an uncanny resemblance to VEER-ZAARA and two, the role demanded heavy-duty action and stunts and SRK's back problem didn't allow him to perform those stunts. I am sure, if an opportunity arises, SRK would definitely accept the offer," Ghai says.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 25 Nov 2008 | 7:08 am Kareena Says ‘No’ To 10 Downing Street - TopNews

The actor, who is on a high post the stupendous success of Jannat, is now awaiting the release of his next film Raaz- The Mystery Continues. Produced under the banner of Vishesh Films and directed by young Mohit Suri, Raaz- The Mystery Continues has Emraan playing the role of an artist. Known for getting into the skin of the character completely, Emraan lost 10 kgs for Raaz- TMC and is looking very lean. What's more? Epitomizing the creative spirit, he's also spiked his hair, grown an arty beard, kohled his eyebrows, and loaded up on junk jewellery. It was director Mohit Suri who wanted Emraan to shed some of that extra flab and get completely into the character. Emraan crash dieted and completely cut off bread, pastries, cheese and any kind of junk food from his diet. He switched to sugar free desserts, from aata to nachni rotis and even minimized his salt intake. The results are there for all to see- he was 76 kgs and is now much leaner at 66 kgs. Speaking about this effort Emraan says "It's not so difficult, if you're serious about it. And the results are the biggest motivator encouraging me to stick to the schedule. Along with the change in diet, I walk every day for an hour and drink lots of water. Also, I've begun having dinner 3 hours before I sleep, and whenever I have a day off, I go for a run before breakfast, because you supposedly burn more of fat that way. I saw the biggest difference in a week after cutting off bread from my diet." The big question however is, Will he continue with this diet plan? "Sure" he says, "I've got used to this discipline and am enjoying this new leaner feel."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 24 Nov 2008 | 3:19 pm Wanted - A girl opposite Adhyayan Suman in Deewana Must DieAre you a 19-20 year old girl (or at least look like one)? Know a thing or two about Bollywood? Want to make it big in the tinsel world? And believe that making a debut opposite Adhyayan Suman would be quite cool? Well, then here is an opportunity coming your way. Director Guddu Dhanoa, who has made a career out of making full on 'masala' action fare (Ziddi, Salakhein, Bichhoo, Elaan), is now changing tracks and making an out and out romantic love story. For this movie which stars Adhyayan Suman in the lead, he is scouting for a girl who fits the aforementioned criteria. "For my next film Deewana Must Die, I am in lookout of a completely fresh face. I don't want someone who has already acted in a film", says Guddu Dhanoa whose last film was action packed Big Brother that featured Sunny Deol in the lead. To be produced by Zee Motion Pictures, Deewana Must Die begins shooting in the month of January 2009. "Before that I need to close on a girl. She would be playing a solo lead opposite Adhyayan and the film would be shot primarily in Mumbai. The film sees a complete departure from the work that I have done in last decade and a half. Most of my films were based on family issues and how the hero bailed his family out from critical issues. However, in Deewana Must Die, I am looking at exploring the romantic genre", Guddu describes his transition process here. So no 'dhishum dhishum' and flying cars this time around? "No, not this time around", smiles Guddu. Adhyayan Suman, who has wrapped up Raaz - The Mystery Continues and is currently busy with Jashn is mighty excited about the film too. "I am happy to be a part of Guddu Dhanoa cinema. I realize that at the end of the day, it is hardcore commercial cinema that runs and Gudduji's films have always provided wholesome entertainment", he says. "I am rolling out an open offer to any girl who believes that she fits the bill for my movie. She can contact me through this forum", signs off Guddu. However, post Khosla Ka Ghosla, Tara hasn't had a single release barring her cameo act in Heyy Babyy. Now the chirpy actress is all set to be seen in a variety of roles in the coming months. Tara has in fact been signed by none other than Dharma Productions for their Saif- Kareena-Vivek starrer which Rensil D'silva will be directing. Bollywood Hungama spoke to an excited Tara who is looking forward to working with one of the country's biggest banners. "Yes, I am doing Rensil's film. I got a call from the casting and production team at Dharma Productions. They asked me to go through the script. I read the script and really liked my role. The film is a political thriller and I am paired opposite Vivek Oberoi. It's not a very big role but it's definitely interesting and pivotal to the story. Moreover, I didn't want to miss out on a chance working with such a reputed banner. I am looking forward to start shooting for the film end of next month (December)." December will also see the release of her long awaited film Maharathi, where she stars alongside stalwarts such as Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri etc. "Yes I am really excited that Maharathi is finally releasing. I play this nerdy, gawky architecture student who is quite a mysterious character. It's not a conventional glamorous role; in fact I go completely de-glam for this role. Till the end, the audience doesn't know if she is good or bad. I really had a wonderful time working with actors like Pareshji, Naseer saab and Om Puri. The energy, enthusiasm and passion which they have for their craft is something which people even half their age don't have. Pareshji has directed the play on which the film is based and most of my scenes in the film are with him so he was always there providing valuable inputs which really helped me", says the bubbly actress. And finally what else do you have in the pipeline after Maharathi? "I've been shooting a lot but for various reasons some of the films have been delayed hence you haven't seen me on screen for a while. Now all of a sudden I have a lot of releases coming up. After Maharathi, I have Ashok Amritraj's The Other End of The Line with Jesse Metcalfe and Shriya Saran. It's released in the States and should be out here early next year. Then I have a film called Suno Na in which I play a pregnant single woman. The film has a socially relevant message and is directed by a lady director - Ami Thanawala. I have also just finished a film called Mocktail which is a comedy starring Rajat Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Koel Purie and myself. We are also resuming shooting for Mudassar Aziz's Dulha Mil Gaya next week. The film has been in the making for a long while now. Besides two of my films- The Whisperers and Amavas have been ready for release a while ago. I hope they get released soon too. So in the next few months, there is a lot to look forward to. I am keeping my fingers crossed", signs off Tara.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 24 Nov 2008 | 1:46 pm Lagaan team comes together to help an ailing co-starThe famous 'team' of Lagaan has just proved the real meaning of team spirit! This is really a heart rending story of what miracles team spirit can do! Readers may remember that it's been more than seven years since the release of the superhit film Lagaan. Still, the actors kept in touch with each other. That's why when they got to know actor Vallabh Vyas (who played Gracy Singh's father in Lagaan) requires money for his treatment of brain surgery, all of them set into action immediately and collected a whopping Rs 10 lakh for the same. Shobha, Vallabh's wife said that she spoke to Vallabh while he was in Rajpipla and that he told her that he will be coming back to Mumbai, only to leave for Chandigarh to shoot for a Yash Raj film. Since he did not come on that day, a worried Shobha called up the unit members. That's when she got to know that Vallabh was admitted in a hospital in Baroda and that there's a swelling in his brain, with surgery being an utmost need of the hour. Reports also have it that amidst all this, Aamir Khan had called up the hospital authorities enquiring about Vallabh's health. Not just that, he even had called up Shobha and gave her words of confidence and courage to fight with the situation. Way to go, Team Lagaan and needless to say that each and every staff at Bollywood Hungama is praying for the speedy recovery of Vallabh Vyas.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 24 Nov 2008 | 1:37 pm Kareena says no to British PM for KJODownload image as wallpaper Kareena left on Sunday night to shoot in the below-freezing temperature in Philadelphia. Kareena Kapoor is so excited about shooting this film produced by Karan Johar that she has said no to a special invitation from the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. "It was a huge honour. I was the only invitee from Bollywood and it always feels great to represent our country. It was an invitation from the British House Of Commons to visit the Prime Minister. But if I had gone Karan Johar's dates would've suffered." "What to do?" sighs the overworked Diva as she gathered her wits and clothes for her imminent departure. "I don't have the time. Besides, the invitation came too late....my fault. They couldn't access me, so they finally had to get to me through my father. By then, it was too late for me to accommodate a flying visit to the House Of Commons for this uncommon honour. So sad!"Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 24 Nov 2008 | 1:11 pm
