However, after his main lead act in Bheja Fry, people started taking this comic actor seriously (Pun intended). Soon, Vinay was seen in bigger and better roles in films such as Aaja Nachle, Johnny Gaddaar and Khoya Khoya Chand to name a few. Now his latest flick Dasvidaniya is ready for release and this film is extra-special for Vinay as he turns producer with this one. Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 12 Nov 2008 | 10:17 am "I haven't seen Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar yet" - Rohit ShettyIf there are any similarities between Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Returns and the 1973 hit comedy Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar, then Shetty isn't aware of them. Nor has he received any notification, legal or otherwise, from the widow of the earlier film's producer who has made copyright-infringement claims. "I haven't seen Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar yet. I've just come back from a holiday with my wife and son. I plan to see the film as soon as possible. I want to see what the similarities are." Needless to say, Rohit was clueless about the likeness between the two films. "If I knew anything about the similarity I'd have happily paid up. The copyright compensation would've amounted to a few lakhs which for a film with a budget of multi-crores is nothing. And don't you think we'd have rather avoided trouble than get into a confrontational situation with anyone over the story? We earlier bought the rights of a Gujarati stage play to make the first part of Golmaal. And I went through all the legitimate channels to remake Sunday from a Telugu film." As for Golmaal Returns, Rohit says it's not just his film that has echoes from the past. "Even Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar, I'm told is inspired by a couple of plays including a French play. It's my friend Paritosh Painter who pointed this out to me." Now, Rohit Shetty is getting ready for the third part of Golmaal. He'd more or less like to make it with the same cast again. "I don't think I'll be allowed to make anything else right now. But first I need to see Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 12 Nov 2008 | 9:43 am Panic in TV industry as strike halts shootsThere's panic among television channels and actors as the shooting of most programmes has come to a grinding halt due to the strike by cine workers.Source: IndiaeNews.com: Bollywood News | 12 Nov 2008 | 9:31 am Briefs - Hrithik, Aishwarya in Bhansali's nextNEW DELHI (Reuters) - Here is a round-up of Bollywood news from Indian newspapers on Wednesday, Nov 12. In case you think it's something naughty and unmentionable here's the dope. B-Boing is a combination of martial arts and various dance forms like hip-hop break dance. It also requires the practitioner to be proficient at free-style gymnastics. In brief...much grief. B-Boing requires rigorous and continuous training for at least six months. And Ruslaan, habituated to late nights and late mornings is falling off with exhaustion. "My B-Boing trainer is Deepak Kumar. It's truly exhausting, but finally very rewarding. I'm learning all the intricacies of the art, twirling on my kneecaps on the floor and getting up in a flash, using one finger to rotate on the floor, gyrating hands-free...it's very challenging. But also very very tiring. I find myself sleeping off most of my free hours. But it's worth it because I am required to be skilled in B-Boing for my new film Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai." Isn't this writer Milap Jhaveri's film where Ayesha Takia plays an alien? "That's right," Ruslaan reveals. "And I play this guy who's skilled at B-Boing. Therefore, all the special training." Ever since Ruslaan began waking up early morning to train, his life has changed completely. "I've no time or wish to go out with friends or party, or to even catch a movie. I've been practising the skill for a month. And I need to be at it for at least six full months before I can even look convincing in the film. I wonder if I'll survive! But I'm enjoying it. Milap and I have become buddies. I was there for his engagement last week. We want to make Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai very different for me in terms of looks and personality from my first two films. In Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar and Tere Sang, I've a very soft romantic image. But in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, I'm working on a new sinewy look." Though it's now catching on as latest passing fancy, B-Boing is not entirely new to the film industry. Rakhi Sawant is adept at it. Grins Ruslaan "That's right. Boy, she can really twirl and rotate on the floor! Though I wouldn't like to try to match steps with her. For my role in Milap's film, I've to dance not to compete with Rakhi but to impress Ayesha. I hope I succeed." Incidentally, Ruslaan's next release Tere Sang is all about teenage pregnancy. "I'm paired with a new girl Sheena Shahabadi in Tere Sang. Ayesha is going to be my first established heroine. I'm scared. I'm a total newcomer in front of her."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 11 Nov 2008 | 3:40 pm "It was Konkona all the way for The President Is Coming" - Kunaal Roy KapoorCome 28th November and debutant director Kunaal Roy Kapur would see the arrival of The President Is Coming, an English language film which is a Rohan Sippy production. Incidentally, the film features practically the same case as the play by the same name which Kunaal has directed. Though Konkona Sen Sharma and Shernaz Patel have been roped in as the faces from the world of Hindi films, rest of the case mainly is straight out of the play. "There was no need to replace any actor in The President Is Coming since each of them are extremely talented and gifted. I thought that when I had actors who were handpicked for theater and entirely suited the part, why even think of replacing them in the film", says Kunaal. How did Konkona and Shernaz fit into the project in that case? "This was required from the marketability point of view. Moreover, Konkona and Shernaz being talented is hardly breaking news and hence they were roped in even as they replaced a couple of actors who were seen in the play", says Kunaal in a matter of fact tone. But was Konkona really the first choice for the film? Wasn't someone else even considered for the role? "No, not at all. It was Konkona all the way and there was absolutely no thought around getting anyone else for the role", Kunaal says with a straight face. Fondly remembering his experience of working with Konkona, Kunaal says, "When Rohan (Sippy) got Konkona on board, I was very excited. We invited her for the reading session of the film and gave her the script. She was laughing throughout and really seemed to be enjoying the film. She was sure that she wanted to be a part of The President Is Coming and understood that we were a crazy bunch of people at work." The President Is Coming tells the story of a bunch of Indian youngsters who compete with each other to have a handshake with the President. Written by Anuvab Pal who is also behind The Loins Of Punjab Presents, The President Is Coming stars Namit Das, Ira Dubey, Vivek Gomber, Satchit Puranik, Imran Rasheed, Shivani Tanksale and Anand Tiwari apart from Konkona Sen and Shernaz Patel.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 11 Nov 2008 | 3:16 pm Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi's theatrical promo to hit theatres on November 14Click above for more movie stills The much awaited theatrical promo of Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi will be unveiled in theatres worldwide this Friday (November 14).
