Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 7 Nov 2008 | 3:21 pm Is Oye Lucky!Lucky Oye! based on Delhi's famous Super-Chor Bunty?Click above for more movie stills The promos of UTV Motion Pictures' Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! have just hit the screens and by the looks of it, this one promises to be yet another light-hearted entertainer. The film starring Abhay Deol (as Lucky), Neetu Chandra and Paresh Rawal in lead roles is directed by Dibakar Banerjee (of Khosla Ka Ghosla fame). Like Dibakar's previous film, this one too is set in Delhi, however, it talks about Lucky, a lovable thief who even the Delhi police are extremely fond of. His modus operandi is to outsmart the people, chowkidars and policemen with his sharp mind and wit. He is an aspiring individual who loves good things in life and is generally enamored by the lifestyles of rich and affluent Delhi families. In fact, the buzz is that Lucky's character is inspired by real life thief- Super Chor Devender aka Bunty who is currently awaiting his trial in Delhi Central Jail. Bunty was famous for robbing not just money and jewellery but even items like Kashmiri carpets, crystal cutlery, antique clocks, golf sets, bottles of Scotch, and luxury watches like Rolex and Rado. We quizzed director Dibakar Banerjee on whether this is true? "Not really. Abhay's character, Lucky, is based on a composite of many small time thieves/ robbers/ criminals whom we have heard or read about in the news reports. The Super Chor could be one of them but it's not wholly and solely based on any one character. The character was developed on the basis of things I had seen around me during my growing up years .I have been living with this idea for a long time now. At the end of the day, it's a work of fiction based on all the research that I have done." One of the highlights of the film is Paresh Rawal who will be seen playing a triple role. "Yes, Pareshji is playing a triple role in the film. In fact one of his characters is that of a Wedding Band waalah who covertly also runs an auto-theft racket. The idea for this character came from a news report which I had read a while ago. That was the starting point and then I fleshed out the character in detail. So you take anecdotes, refer to events and then arrange it in a narrative which would be entertaining to watch. In a nutshell my film's premise is such that it makes for an excellent satire," signs off the talented director.Source: Indiafm.com News | 7 Nov 2008 | 3:20 pm Celina floors rugby star Monty Beetham at her international film premiereViolently ill and shivering with the cold at the premiere of her first international film, Love Has No Language, in Auckland on Nov 5, Celina Jaitley rubbed shoulders with the crème de la crème of New Zealand. And that too in the pouring rain. "It was the grandest premiere I ever attended," gushes Celina. Days after the premiere she's in a daze. "800 Asians turned up to meet me besides the 325 formal invitees. We had the crème de la crème of New Zealand attending, including television film and sports personalities." Prominent in the sports section of attendees was New Zeland's rugby star Monty Beetham who was quite taken up with Celina. Apparently, his eyes trailed our Celina across the premiere venue. Laughs Celina, "I'm no stranger to male attention. Though I met Beetham only briefly, I believe he was quite taken up by what he called the Indian beauty. I was just floored by all the attention I got." Hours before the premiere, Celina wasn't sure if she would be able to attend. "I was down with this acute tummy infection. I was doubling up with cramps and pain. I really thought I wouldn't be able to attend. But at the last minute, I squeezed into my Manish Malhotra gown and dragged myself to the red carpet. The effort was worth it." The movie got a standing ovation. "Not only that, people stood in the pouring rain for autographs and pictures. I tried to oblige everyone. The New Zealanders are extremely warm. As I shook hands with them, the freezing cold melted away. Never mind my gown shrank into a mini-skirt." Celina cuts down all chances of a romance with her co-star. She describes her Love Has No Language co-star Ben Mitchell as scary and horrifying. "He scared the hell out of me with bugs and butterflies all the time. Believe it or not, I'm terrified of butterflies. And although the film is called Love Has No Language, I couldn't understand anything he said because of his Kiwi accent. Maybe because I wasn't really in love with him."Source: Indiafm.com News | 7 Nov 2008 | 3:16 pm Top Telugu stars to clash in Andhra polls

Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 7 Nov 2008 | 10:56 am Sanjay Dutt to celebrate First Wedding Anniversary in KashmirSanjay Dutt who has lately been out of the country holidaying with his wife in New Zealand heads for Kashmir to shoot for Rahul Dholakia's Lamhaa under the heaviest 'bandobast' ever provided to any Indian actor for shooting in any part of the world. Producer Bunty Walia was under serious discussions with every security channel in Kashmir to ensure full safety for the cast and crew, especially Dutt's, as his presence in J&K is seen as potentially more volatile since he has a massive fan base in the Valley. That's not the only danger posed to Dutt's security. With his enormously controversial past record including several communal issues, it is felt by many of Dutt's well-wishers that it'd be foolhardy for the actor to be physically present in the extremist-hit Valley. While the superstar makes light of the security issues, his CEO Dharam Oberoi is more candid in his concern. "It's somewhat dangerous for Baba. More so since he never goes with his personal security anywhere. Baba feels very embarrassed about bouncers following him everywhere. But Bunty Walia has left no stone unturned to secure the 80-unit member's security, especially Sanju Baba and Bipasha Basu's security. CRPF jawans, the army and the J&K police have all been deployed to protect the Lamhaa unit from any kind of violence." But the best security measure to prevent any blast has been saved for the last. Jammers have been installed all around the hotel and the area where Sanjay Dutt and the crew will be shooting. These devices detonate bombs automatically when detected. The impressive security 'bandobast' has convinced Dutt that it's not only safe enough to shoot for Lamhaa but also bring in his first marriage anniversary on 19 November in Kashmir. In Srinagar, overlooking the Dal Lake is the Oberoi Towers where the unit of Lamhaa will be staying. Mrs Sanjay Dutt is expected to join her husband at this spot of jannat for their wedding anniversary on 19 November.Source: Indiafm.com News | 7 Nov 2008 | 10:29 am Salman Khan- Katrina Kaif romance in public - News Line 365
Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 7 Nov 2008 | 10:25 am Madhavan off to London to lose weight to match steps with Kareena, AamirAfter Abhishek Bachchan who has lost 14 kgs to look like Mani Ratnam's on -the-run fugitive in his new film, it's Mani's earlier favourite Madhavan who is required to undergo a physical melting-down. And it's not for the love of Mani. It's for Raj Kumar Hirani. Apparently, Hirani has asked all his three leading men Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan to "look like IIT students." The interpretation of that instruction has been left to the individual actors. Says a source, "Aamir will lose some of that aggressively muscular look that he has acquired for Ghajini. He needs too look leaner and more athletic, as he did in Dil Chahta Hai. Playing a student at 40-plus won't be difficult for Aamir. He has done so in Rang De Basanti with great success. Sharman doesn't need to lose any weight. He looks completely in character. Madhavan needs to look more toned." Madhavan who has temporarily shifted base to Mumbai to seriously pursue a career in Hindi cinema, has taken off for two weeks to Ashford in the UK to work on his physique for the role in 3 Idiots. Speaking from London Maddy says, "My sister lives here in Ashford and there're very good health clinics here. Whenever I need to change around my metabolism or rework my physique for a role I head for Ashford. And at the moment I'm re-working my physique to look like a student. " A time -frame has been set for each of the actors to get into the shape they think right for their characters. Says Madhavan, "It's not about looking thinner or younger. All three of us need to look convincing as IIT students. How we choose to do so has been left to us." Madhavan returns in two weeks to resume the shooting of Teen Patti which got suspended when the Big B fell ill. He gets emotional. "It was scary how suddenly he took ill. We really don't care about the delay. All we want is for Amitji to be perfectly recovered again."Source: Indiafm.com News | 7 Nov 2008 | 10:09 am Priyanka's sexy figure in Dostana

However, this time it was not just any film star but superstar Salman Khan and the gorgeous Katrina Kaif who made an appearance on the sets of Zee TV's 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009'. The duo was there to promote their latest film Yuvvraaj (which releases on Nov 21st) and when you have Bollywood's hottest couple together, there is bound to be some magic. Even after years of being in this industry, there are very few like Salman whose presence alone can make a show magical. Together Salman and Katrina made for a picture perfect couple and set the pulse racing. Salman was his usual flamboyant self and Katrina as demure as ever. Amidst casual conversations, moments of mirth and camaraderie, they appeased everyone on the sets. From doing a salsa jig with one of the contestants, Pratibha, to playing cupid between her and Soumen to making Himesh Reshammiya the butt of all jokes, Sallu did it all with élan and gave all the participants some wonderful moments to cherish. What's more? He even made fun of Katrina for her poor Hindi, all in good spirit of course. Amidst all the fun, the 4 mentors, Himesh Reshammiya, Aadesh Shrivastav, Pritam and Shankar Mahadevan each dedicated a song to him. However, the moment of the day came when Salman waltzed with Katrina as Pritam began singing 'Teri Ore' from Singh is Kinng. This was as a follow up to the reception she had where The Mayfair Media Club celebrated her award winning career as a Film Director and Choreographer. Farah has fond memories about the event and the interview she gave, especially since it was indeed a 'different' experience and went into the technicalities of making a film rather than focusing on gossip. "Thankfully no one asked me about Shah Rukh Khan's favorite colour in the event," laughs Farah who admits that she would love to be a part of more such shows/events which are centered on academic and technical aspects of making a film. "Really, it was indeed a different experience because I got a platform to speak on things like editing and production design amongst others. I was half expecting one of the tabloid journalists standing up and enquiring about a scoop behind a particular actor turning late on the sets", adds Farah in a lighter vein. There were clips shown from her directed films like Om Shanti Om and Main Hoon Naa in the Masterclass which was attended by select 50 people. "There were quite a few people belonging to the film fraternity all the way from Nigeria (where Bollywood is in fact turning out to be quite huge), Yorkshire, Dubai and Abu Dhabi who attended the class. The reception was attended by around 175 others who felicitated Farah", says a filmmaker who was a part of the event. For Farah, one of the high points of her London visit was a chance meeting with Steve Barron, director of Michael Jackson's chartbuster single 'Billie Jean' from 'Thriller'. "It was unbelievable to come face to face with him. I wanted to make sure that I was actually interacting with THE Steve. It was overwhelming", says Farah.Source: Indiafm.com News | 6 Nov 2008 | 1:13 pm
