London Gets Its Fashion Week Back

This is what London Fashion Week looks like.
Photo: Getty Images

Come September 2009 London Fashion Week won't be reduced to a mere three days. Organizers of Fashion Weeks in London, New York, Paris, and Milan all met in London today to settle on dates for next year's Fashion Weeks. After the CFDA pushed New York Fashion Week back so as not to interfere with Labor Day and give designers more time to work on their collections, London Fashion Week was crunched down to about half of its usual six days. But WWD reports the fashion capitals reached a "peace agreement" today, so starting in September 2009, New York will be able to push its Fashion Week back while still allowing London Fashion Week a full five days. Now, everyone just has to figure out how to wrangle London a full-time slot in February (New York, Paris, and Milan have promised to "take London’s needs into account"). Details are fuzzy as to how the agreement was reached, but we're glad the bigwigs worked it out since we wouldn't want to miss out on any of the stellar emerging talent London is known for. It gave us Giles Deacon, Christopher Kane, and Gareth Pugh after all.

Not Every Seat in the New Yankee Stadium Is a Winner

Not pictured: right field.
Photo: yankees.com

By this time next week, “Yankee Stadium” will no longer refer to the historic (if poorly remodeled) park on the south side of 161st Street in the Bronx, but the shiny, new palace currently being built across the street. For $1.3 billion, you’d expect every detail to be taken care of, beyond just the promise of “cup holders throughout the general seating bowl.” For example, the team’s Website explains that “From the Bleachers to Yankees Premium Offerings, every fan will have more comfortable seating that offers improved sight lines.” In fact, it’s the first thing on the page.

What you see in the above image is one of those improved sightlines, from Bleacher Section 239, courtesy of the team’s nifty seat selector. You know what you don’t see in the above image? Right field. Instead, you’ve got a view of a restaurant that will serve as the batter’s eye in dead center. Presumably the view only gets worse if you’re sitting in the dozens of seats still further left. Granted, sightlines like this will only affect a few hundred people, but that’s arguably a worse view than you get in the current left-field bleachers, which is really saying something.

Of course, this won’t be a problem for most people, since it’ll likely be next to impossible to get tickets once the stadium opens in April. That is, unless you’re a city official. According to the Times, the city will have its own suite, which it’ll get for free (though that’s pretty standard practice at this point). But it will also get “first dibs on the best available seats” and be allowed to buy up to 145 tickets for every game, at face value. We're just guessing those won’t be in Bleacher Section 239.

Someone — most likely a former Lehman employee with a little more time on his hands — has written a "30-second version" of what happened to cause the mortgage crisis on Google finance, and it's probably the most lucid one we've seen so far. ‘Manga’ Fans to Decide Upcoming Japanese Election

Photo: Getty Images

We know, we know — we've been uncharacteristically out of touch with the Japanese political scene lately. So here's what you need to know: Notorious manga fan Taro Aso, currently the secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party, is the presumptive next prime minister of Japan. And, okay, yeah, sure there are probably a few reasons why Aso will likely win office — his extensive foreign-policy experience, perhaps, or his willingness to open communication channels with China. But based on our ongoing analysis of the country's political situation, support from the manga base — fans have given him a manga-inspired nickname and he even has a store (Our Taro) named after him in the manga-crazed Akihabara section of Tokyo, which declares him to be a "cool old dude" — is critical.

And frankly, we've never been more jealous of another country. Why is it that Americans aren't making more political decisions based on the High Fidelity dating rules — "what really matters is what you like, not what you are like"? Maybe it's not too late for Obama and McCain to find an edge by courting devotees of certain cultural subgenres; in the wake of Aso's manga-fueled run, could this finally be the year that the blackened death-metal community decides the election?

Democrats File Suit in Michigan Over Reported GOP ‘Caging’ Tactics

Photo: Getty Images

According to the Michigan Messenger, the local McCain campaign operatives have been openly discussing a plan to use "caging" tactics on Election Day in November. If you don't know that term, this is basically what that means:

Caging is a technique of challenging voters where they take lists of addresses, mail to them with a 'do not forward' marking and if for whatever reason those mailings are returned, they use this as a basis for claiming that the voter no longer lives at the address at which they are registered.

The McCain campaign denies that this is its plan. But why would they even want to do this in the first place? Because poor people (particularly minorities) who don't know their rights are more likely to vote for Obama. They tend to, you know, want the government to help them. And since 11,000 homes received foreclosure notices in July of this year alone in battleground Michigan, the numbers are more than enough to affect the outcome of the entire race. State Democrats have taken this threat seriously enough to file suit in U.S. District Court. Talk about good PR — even if there's nothing to the caging allegations, painting McCain as against democracy itself is going to go over well with independents.

Hannah Upp Found!

Hannah Upp, the 23-year-old teacher who was reported missing by her friends and family over Labor Day weekend, was rescued a couple of hours ago by a group of Staten Island ferry workers who spotted her in the water of New York’s Upper Bay. She had apparently jumped off a pier into the water. “She was almost completely incapacitated when they pulled her out,” a spokesman for the Transportation Department told the Times. "She was not responsive.” Upp has been transferred to a Richmond University Medical Center, where she has since stabilized. It's a dramatic end to a dramatic story, which began when Upp's friends reported that the Bryn Mawr graduate had disappeared, leaving her wallet and keys behind. After she was spotted several times in the midtown Apple store, officials postulated that she was depressed about her job at Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Harlem, or that she had run off with the freegans, a group of foraging vegetarians.

Is There an ‘Infinite Jest’ Movie in the Works?

Photo: Courtesy of Fandango Libri

Predictably, following the tragic news of David Foster Wallace's suicide over the weekend, rumors are swirling about a movie version of Wallace's thousand-page epic, Infinite Jest — some purporting that one may have already been in the works. Devin Faraci at Cinematic Happenings Under Development says he's heard from sources that DFW was collaborating with Sam Jones, the director of Wilco documentary I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, on an adaptation.

A blog post from two years ago has the Sam Jones rumor and tacks on the name of playwright Keith Bunin as a potential screenwriter and Jon Brion as the score's composer, which sort of makes the whole thing sound like whole-cloth speculation. But BroadwayWorld.com, in an article from May of this year on Bunin's recent theater work, says that Bunin was in fact working on an Infinite Jest screenplay. (Muddling things further is the fact that Curtis Armstrong — Booger from Revenge of the Nerds — supposedly sold a never-made screenplay adaptation of the book to HBO.) Could Infinite Jest: The Movie actually happen? Who knows, but we'd probably be first in line to see it.

Long-Awaited Solo Work From Lindsey Buckingham

Gift of Screws, Lindsey Buckingham’s fifth solo album, has been a long-gestating affair. Some of its material dates back to the nineties, and it was completely derailed when the singer-guitarist gave up tracks for Fleetwood Mac’s 2003 album, Say You Will. But it’s here now, and it feels totally complete, from the ominous opening track “Good Day” and the anthemic “Love Runs Deeper” to the rollicking title track. A pleasant surprise in the late stage of the legend’s career.

‘House’ Star Olivia Wilde on Which Characters Thirteen Might Make Out With

Photo: Courtesy of Fox

Olivia Wilde has already had plenty of roles in her young career, but she’s known to most as the hipsterific lesbian who stole Marissa’s heart on The O.C., and for her more recent portrayal of stubbornly private second-generation intern Thirteen to Hugh Laurie’s good doctor House. The hit show’s fifth season kicks off tonight at eight and welcomes viewers back into the world of Princeton Plainborough Hospital, with the misanthropic doctor’s right-hand man Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) threatening to jump ship and Thirteen is grappling with a diagnosis of Huntington’s chorea. Wilde spoke with Vulture about the upcoming season, her work for the Obama campaign, and Thirteen's diagnosis with Huntington's.

We read that you and Kal Penn campaigned for Obama and were involved in primaries. How did people react to you guys?
Well, what was really fascinating was that when we went to Iowa to caucus, we were welcomed with open arms, as House actors — House is apparently really big in Iowa, which was kind of a shock to me. We were in the middle of nowhere, and these House fans were, you know, chasing us around Wal-mart. But they also welcomed us as Obama supporters because there was a lot of enthusiasm there, particularly among the young people. They were literally out there pamphleting in ice storms and really working hard for him in a place where you would assumed they might not.

Sounds inspiring.
I totally caught the campaigning bug. I could have stayed on forever. And Kal really did. He has spent every minute he’s not shooting House back on the campaign doing anything he can.

So, House. What’s in store for Thirteen this season?
This season has been so incredible for Thirteen so far, and we’re only on episode ten! Mostly it’s her dealing with the tragic Huntington's chorea diagnosis that she received at the end of season four. She knows it's bad, and that causes her to lose control in a way that we didn’t expect from a character like her. She loves working for House because he’s the most brilliant person to work for, but she doesn’t want to fall into his traps. And so this tragic diagnosis causes her to lose control of all that, and now as she struggles to maintain the separation between her work life and her personal life; things sort of start to fall apart. As she scrambles to put them back together, she ends up making personal connections where you least expect them. And that makes for good television.

Thirteen just came out as bisexual, and your character on The O.C. was bisexual as well. Do you think it’s a vibe you’re giving off?
[Laughs.] This is only my second time playing a character who’s bisexual, and I’ve played a lot of straight people, but of course people don’t care about that. But in both of these cases the sexuality of the character was created before I met the writers. And I think in both cases, in The O.C. and in House, it’s not a situation where it’s two girls making out as a rating booster. It’s not some kind of Girls Gone Wild ploy. On House I definitely think it’s a great twist. Because whenever anyone sees a young woman in the same room with House, they think they’re going to get it on. And now, they’ve created this person who you don’t know, you know? If she’s in the same room with Cuddy, are you going to assume the same thing about them? I sort of love that it’s going to keep people guessing. You’re never going to be able to say, “Okay, yawn, now I know who’s going to get together. This is so predictable.”

Thirteen and Cuddy!
Yeah! You never know. I love Lisa. It’d be great.

Are you more of a hypochondriac now that you’ve filmed a whole season of House?

Well, it’s funny, because I was in Thailand in December and I got Dengue fever. It was awful, because for a while I had no idea what it was. And I kept thinking, If only I had House here with me!

Do you think anyone on the show will ever actually be diagnosed with lupus?
[Laughs.] I wonder. Have we ever actually had it be lupus? I feel like there may have been one person who, like, actually had Lupus. I can’t remember who it was. I mean, that’s a great example of people suddenly becoming aware of something from the show. I actually heard that the Lupus Foundation loves the fact that House has made it this famous phrase — “Is it lupus?’ It’s never lupus!" A lot of people had never heard of lupus before. It’s a good thing.

Definitely. So, the question of the day: Is Wilson really leaving Princeton Plainsboro!?
I think it’s a great risk that they’ve taken, taking this solid pillar of the show and shaken it up, weakened it to the point of collapsing. It’s not a permanent thing, this tragic separation between House and Wilson, but it’s not something that can be easily repaired. It takes a long time, and there are a lot of failed attempts at a quick patch-up. So that’s what I think is going to make people happy, to sort of see a lot more of Robert Sean Leonard, who is so incredible, obviously. He’s not gone forever — obviously I’ve given that away. But at first, they definitely have taken that risk and broken them apart. Broken up the romance. The bromance, as I’ve heard it called. Which is so funny.

‘Will & Grace’—Not a Gay Sitcom, a Great Sitcom!

Will & Grace may have helped establish the vain, uptight, loveless gay male stereotype, but (as Will’s lack of love life on the show can attest) gayness wasn't what made the series—now on DVD box set—a sitcom staple. It was the cheap and hilarious running gags (Rosario’s caustic one-liners, the New Jersey–fied charades buddies Rob and Ellen), the epic buffoonery between Jack and Karen, and those guest stars, from Madonna and Parker Posey to Woody Harrelson.

‘Weeds’ Season Finale As Ridiculous As You Might Expect

Photo: Courtesy Showtime

It's judgment day for Nancy. As much as Mayor Esteban wants not to believe that the woman he loves is a snitch, Cesar is hell-bent on finding proof. And he does: a photograph of Nancy meeting with Captain Roy Till amid the bougainvillea. How he got the photo, we're not sure (but we have a theory, due to a couple of clues over the past two episodes, that Till’s partner was actually playing both sides of the border fence. Perhaps this will come up in the next season?). For now, Detective Till’s partner is dead. And Nancy is in deep shit.

Yet to Nancy, the grisly death of an FBI agent at the hands of the Mexican cartel does not suggest that she should run, run, run. Or even get her dear boys out of harm's way. Instead, she goes home after an interrogation by Captain Till — who's aware she's lying about not knowing who's on the other end of the tunnel — and draws a bath. In the bathroom, to a schlocky soundtrack, Nancy explains the whole snitching thing to Andy. We get close-ups of running water, Nancy looking shaky, Andy projecting thoughtfulness. Odd.

But what is Andy really thinking about? Earlier, he tells Doug, "You still love Dana," and Doug replies, "Well, you're in love with Nancy." Andy protests too much and later, after having complimented Nancy on her breasts as she bathed — "They're nice, bigger than I thought" — he curls up in fetal position on the couch in front of the boys, insisting that they must not abandon Nancy, because they love her. "Love. Her. In a mom-loving way. Not in any other way."

Meanwhile, about Doug loving Dana: He pens a letter to his ex-wife, declaring that he has lost all joy since losing her. And then … whaaa? He performs a psycho-sexual cry for help, hanging himself from the ceiling for a bit of auto-erotic asphyxiation, with suicidal overtones. The scene is a mind fuck — a Doug-style joke, apparently, about killing himself.

On the other side of the border, Celia is dressed like Kathleen Turner in Body Heat — with glamorous floppy pink hat and over-the-top jewelry — making her way by donkey to visit her long-lost daughter, Quinn, who is living in Oaxaca with a man named Rodolfo. Quinn — who looks nothing like Celia, Doug, or Isabelle, but a tad like Audrey Tautou — has a psycho streak. She drugs and kidnaps Celia, planning to ransom her for a $200,000 head start to Belize.

And then we return to reality — whatever that is in Weeds. Nancy realizes that her wayward sons, especially Silas, just turning 18, have raised themselves. "Dear Silas," she dictates as she drives herself across the border to face Mayor Esteban. "If you never see me again, I’ve probably been murdered. Enjoy the dried apricots and butter cookies." Before long, she saves herself from gruesome death — not through love, per se, but … a baby. “It’s too early to tell, but it feels like a boy,” Nancy says, her cheeks pink. Just what the Botwins need: another son to raise. And just what we need: another hiatus to contemplate how much further astray we will wander from suburban satire, as Nancy, bloated with the mayor of Tijuana's child, runs from the FBI. Oh, what fun.

‘The Hills’ Knows No Economic Drama

Ponder, Lauren. Just ponder.
Photo: Courtesy of MTV

We know, we know: The financial world is collapsing, people are losing their homes, and the election is becoming nastier every day. But if there's one thing that can lift our spirits in hard times, it's those gosh darn kids of The Hills, impervious to economic ruin, cheerful and resilient in times of trouble, and so, so blonde.

This week, we open at the Heidi-Spencer-Holly house of pain, with Holly complaining that she's a loser with no friends. Well, duh. She suggests that maybe she should call Lauren, as the three girls used to be besties, and Spencer, predictably, becomes enraged. "While you're living under this roof, there's no Lauren fraternizing!" We'd probably take him more seriously if he weren't wearing such a lame, wannabe hipster lumberjack button-down. Nevertheless, Holly, in a blatant defiance of King Spencer, texts Lauren about hanging out.

On the receiving end, L.C. gets the text and tells Whitney that the whole thing is just "SO weird." Always one to dole out inane advice, Whitney tells Lauren she should definitely see Holly. "It doesn't hurt anybody," she wisely tells her. She didn't get to be head of the L.A. office of People's Revolution for nothing, people. Lauren scrunches her lips in deep thought. But Lauren and Holly have a lunchtime reunion, and Holly is wearing very large, very distracting peacock-feather earrings. No wonder she has no friends. The girls chat about Heidi and Spencer, and how they're determined not to let that ruin their friendship, which was so strong that Lauren didn't even have Holly's number programmed in her phone.

Meanwhile, over at Epic Records, Audrina pretends to work while blankly staring at a wall, counting the number of words she knows: The, her, Justin, implants… Her boss, Kristin, calls her in to explain that Audrina's going to have to work at a band showcase, and Audrina looks scared shitless at the prospect of having any real responsibility. Don't worry Aud! We're pretty sure you're just going to have to stand around and look vacant, as that's your role at your job, and in life. Then Audrina joins her better half, Justin Bobby, for a romantic dinner and a discussion about — you guessed it! — Lauren and Audrina's relationship. J.B. tells Audrina that he likes her dress, to which she replies, "It's a skirt." Ha! The dialogue slays us!

Time for the band showcase! At the party, the head of Epic Records takes a shot with all his employees. Maybe this is why the music industry is failing? Lauren and Lo and Stephanie show up (Hi, Steph! Good to see you!). They dance to some lame-o band called the White Tie Affair — we'd been trying to figure out the band name all episode whenever Audrina said it, as it sounded something like, "white elephant sale." Audrina confesses that Justin Bobby, who was supposed to come by, won't text her back. Ew, J.B. That's just rude, and no amount of cutely throwing Audrina in the pool can make up for it.

Then there's a boring scene with Heidi and Holly. Heidi is wearing a beret, which is really all you need to know.

At the after-party, Sean the guitarist is hitting on Stephanie. He shows her/us his nipple piercings! Ouch! He is not cute at all, but we won't judge, Steph, as musicians get a pass, no matter how Nazi Youth–ish they look. Meanwhile, Lo asks Audrina if Justin Bobby is coming, and she definitely just inquired in order to make Audrina feel stupid. And the next day Audrina tells her work friend Chiara that J.B. bailed. "He needs to make more of an effort," she says. Yes, Audrina, he'd be a perfect boyfriend if he could ever remember to call you back.

To close, we cut back and forth between Heidi and Kimberly (wearing too much
bronzer) and Lauren and Lo. Heidi is hopeful that Holly will bring them all back together, and Lauren is adamant that she's not going to. The angsty music swells as Heidi laments, "Maybe one day, by a miracle, we'll be friends again." In the fake universe of The Hills, anything can happen, Heidi. Here's hoping!

Next week: Lo and Audrina bond, and Stephanie goes out with Doug. Yes! We've been waiting for Steph's big betrayal all season.

And now, the Unequivocal Hills Reality Index:

As Real As J.B. Is Thoughtless
• We really do think that Justin Bobby bailed on Audrina of his own accord. Who is this flaky guy, anyway? What does he do? Can someone fill us in?
• Lo's facial expressions at the concert. Girl was NOT having any fun, and it showed.
• Sean's nipple piercings. Real and gross.

As Fake As Lauren and Audrina's "Friendship"
• Holly and Lauren's lunch date. If ever there was an orchestrated meeting, that was it. How did Holly get Lauren's number, again? Hmm.
• Heidi's desire to be friends with Lauren. Heidi's only desire in life is to star in eighties music videos that her evil boyfriend directs.
• Spencer's empty threats. He's not kicking Holly out of that house on MTV's watch.

Damn Right Rangel Will Not Step Down

Despite recent embarrassing revelations about 78-year-old Harlem Democrat Charles Rangel (which include, but are not limited to, not paying taxes on his vacation home, making awkward remarks about said vacation home, and Use of Office Stationery With Intent to Intimidate), Charles Rangel will retain his position as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, his lawyer told reporters in a conference call this afternoon, adding that The Bow-Tied One has the support of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other committee members. Which we already knew from earlier this morning, when Representative Sander Levin of Michigan got his back up about the old dude and awesomely yelled at reporters: “You’re damned right he’s still the chairman.” Man, these dudes are fiesty. Rangel's lawyer, Larry Davis, was not so colorful in his language with the Times, but he did, we hear, follow his statement up with four snaps in a zigzag pattern. Then he spun on his heel and turned away.

Even better, it will screen shows like 30 Rock, Lipstick Jungle, and Chuck — or Ben "Swordfish" Silverman's babies — before their airdates. [Amazon, NYT]

Better known as Hermione in Harry Potter, Watson wears beautiful couture dresses and jewelry that "came with [its] own security guard." Watson says, "I was terrified of ripping, getting mud (as we shot outdoors), cake, a prop, or anything on the dresses!" As she should be! We expect to see more of Watson in the high-fashion scene, as her agent says there's "huge demand" for the 18-year-old starlet among the fashion industry. [British Vogue]

Jewelry Designer Eddie Borgo Doesn’t Care About Trends

Eddie, wearing the hat he loves, loves, loves.
Photo: Melissa Hom

You might say jewelry designer Eddie Borgo is on a roll: He just finished commissioned collections for the spring 2009 runways of 3.1 phillip lim, Marchesa, Camilla Staerk, Frank Tell, Jen Kao, and more. Adding to his successes, he launched his own line of jewelry (prices range from $100 to $1,000) that will be sold at Camilla Staerk's new store on Mulberry Street this month. His geometrically inspired collection, full of matte aluminum and tulle-covered chains, strikes the perfect balance between fine jewelry and street pieces. And it's clear from his mixed looks — sometimes rough, sometimes polished — that he designs with the New York girl in mind. We caught up with the designer to talk about jewelry trends, designer desires, and why city girls need to rock his pieces.

How would you describe the girl you want to decorate?
The stuff I’m making is for a contemporary girl who has things to do. And I see her in New York, or even in any modern city, Paris, London, and Hong Kong. She thinks of jewelry as an item. A piece of jewelry in her wardrobe is a signature piece that represents her, something she identifies herself with. And she’s a bit punky.

How are designers approaching jewelry commissions now?
Designers are using more to incorporate into their shows in order to embrace in their runway shows and the line. They are really paying attention to jewelry now because you really have to know jewelry — the mythology, pattern, construction, metal, enameling, magnetic closures, something like that.

How would you describe the process working with designers?
It’s very personal. Jewelry is very personal thing, as it should be. You feel like it’s a part of your personality in a way. That’s how I think about it. So with the designers, you make sure you are designing within their aesthetics but also you want to give part of your own.

Eddie's jewelry — everything from a claw ring
to spiked studs.Photo: Melissa Hom

Which designer would like to work with?
I love Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein. I love what he’s done to Calvin. It would be a great match. I would love to do great sculptural marble jewelry for him. Making marble jewelry and combining it with a white diamond.

Who was the first designer that you ever bought?
Now, I don’t wear many labels. I have a raincoat — a yellow raincoat from Phillip Lim. I started looking at his collection two or three years ago, and I loved it. I don’t usually have an opportunity to wear it, but it’s really a man version of bellboy’s yellow raincoat.

What is a trend in jewelry that is really big right now?
I keep hearing earrings. Big earrings.

Is there any trend you wish would go away?
By the time you buy the trend, it’s already gone, pretty much. So I think what I do is I try, even if it falls under a category under a trend, to make jewelry that looks like a classic. So the trend I wish would go away is TREND in general.

If you don't like trends or labels, what do you like to wear?
I love wearing Levi’s jeans, pink shirts, V-neck T-shirts. I have a blazer, a little boy’s tuxedo blazer I bought at a boy’s tuxedo store. And I always have my hat.

Who’s your favorite designer?
My favorite designer of all time is Pierre Cardin, not only for jewelry, but also for his clothing. And he also made a furniture line, which I’m already really inspired by. Another jewelry designer that really inspires me is Robert Lee Morris. I’m always popping my head into his stores in Soho. I love all his artwear of native stones. It looks uptown, yet boho.

What’s one thing that you really need to buy right now?
I really want to buy a new couch. And a black leather Hermès business-card holder.

What's one thing that every woman should have in her closet?
The perfect little black dress.

Out with the Zantrex, in with the banana bags! Before you come to any false conclusions about what banana bags actually are, know they have nothing to do with actually eating bananas (so 2007). Rather, they're IV drips chock-full of multivitamins that enable users to eat less while still getting nutrients that could also help satiate them. Banana bags are normally hooked up to undernourished alcoholics in hospitals, but models and celebrities use them to get skinny. Why the hell not, right?! To review: The latest diet craze involves voluntarily attaching an IV to oneself. Nutritional psychologist Marc David, a "diet guru to many supermodels" who is familiar with banana bags, tells the Daily Mail:

‘The nutrients in the banana bag are not enough. You can’t put in essential fatty acids — EFA deficiency will lead to a decreased ability to burn calories, irritability, fatigue, and dry hair, skin and nails. Also you’re not getting protein, which is going to diminish your ability to build muscle tissue.'

Oh, they're not "good for you"? You don't say! David adds that not eating or "bypassing the digestive process" ultimately wreaks havoc on the immune system. But really — why go to the trouble of eating when you can stick a needle in your arm and call it a day? Besides, we choose to think of this as more of a "cleanse."
