The Unforgettable Tour Diary: Day 21 - It's 'Showtime' before the weekend blast- After Show no. 5 at Houston last weekend, it was time for all the stars to chill out over the week gone by. And they did so in style by visiting numerous shows by other international performers which were playing all around New York. While 'The Unforgettable Tour' is looking at regaling its audience over the weekend, they got themselves entertained by quite a few popular shows. - One such show was the world popular 'Cirque du Soleil', a French term which stands for 'Circus of the Sun'. Founded in 1984, as per Wikipedia, the show is a synthesis of circus styles from around the world and has its own central theme and storyline which brings the audience into the performance by having no curtains, continuous live music and performers change the props. - The same was witnessed by the stars as well who were left dumbstruck with sheer breathtaking performances. It was Abhishek's idea to have everyone go together to the show and no wonder, each of them enjoyed the show to the fullest. The show has a jungle theme to it and what amazed everyone was the sheer fitness level that each of the performers came with. Lasting close to 2 hours, 'Cirque du Soleil' saw coming together of some high end aerobics and gymnastics which left everyone asking for more. - However, there was no dearth of autograph seekers even in a place like this. Finding the stars amidst themselves, especially Amitabh Bachchan, the crowd thronged him. Humble as ever, Big B was gracious enough to oblige them even as this was a personal visit for him rather than a sponsored event. - Later everyone decided to go out for dinner to Big B's favorite restaurant in New York, Mr. Chows, which as the name suggests, is a Chinese restaurant. Vishal got an opportunity to bond further with Amitabh Bachchan due to the two being vegetarians. The evening was for everyone to loosen up and chat about everything under the sun before getting ready to hit the stage once again this weekend. - Looking at the kind of fun youngsters (read Abhishek, Riteish, Vishal, Shekhar) are having on stage, Big B too is looking at putting on his dancing shoes with a vengeance. He has insisted Vishal and Shekhar to play one of his yesteryear songs during their part. Though the composer duo is currently performing on numbers from 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', 'Om Shanti Om' and others, they are looking at picking up this opportunity with a glee. Last one heard, the number 'Apni To Jaise Taise' [Laawaris] is on the top of their list! - While it is going to be Atlantic City and Chicago on Saturday and Sunday respectively, there are also plans being made for the London show which is expected to be one of the biggest of all. There are lot of suggestions pouring in from within the troupe of 'Unforgettable' and something magical is on its way. Since there is quite some time left to prepare for that, the evening is expected to be extra special. - Some troupe members also visited the Kanye West concert. A hip-hop performer, Kanye West, was a huge success amongst the audience which also comprised of big names like Dr. Gray, Andre 3000 (OutKast) and Will. I. Am (Black Eyed Peas) amongst others. Held indoors, the concert saw a crowd that topped the 15000 mark. In fact there was quite some struggle involved in procuring the tickets but somehow they managed to get an entry. - Rock band 'The Police' was performing its last act ever at Madison Square Garden, New York and it was irresistible not to be a part of the historical event. The band came up with yet another legendary performance which has created history and stars found themselves to be a witness of this history on the making. Yet another event which seemed to have housed close to 19000 strong audiences, it gave quite some motivation for 'Unforgettable' members also to aim for the next level. - After all this fun, masti and mazaa, it is expected to be business with entertainment yet again over the weekend. What is helping the team together is the virtue of openness which is making them share ideas and suggestions on a common platform. With none of them looking at being on the top of affairs or trying to sidelines the other, it is the friendly attitude demonstrated by every member which is making the tour better and better with every passing outing. This is also making everyone try to do something different and innovative at stage, although impromptu, instead of going ahead with a performance which is all crammed up and mechanical. - Atlantic City is the destination for Saturday and stars are driving down in the limos assigned to them. From there it would be a trip to Chicago (for the Sunday show) and then back to New York after the performance.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 9 Aug 2008 | 3:36 pm Salman fulfills twin sisters' wish

Deepika has done full justice to the colour black on the cover of the latest edition of the men's magazine Maxim. To describe her, the word 'Stunning' seems as if we are showing a torch before the sun! Having said so, let us also tell you that there's something about this snap that really transforms the lookers into hookers! If the cover was anything to go by, the inside 'content' will never make you feel 'content', thus defying the saying 'Never judge a book by its cover'! One should admit that Deeps has never looked so ravishing before and those eyes are mesmerizing as ever!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 9 Aug 2008 | 12:31 pm "I had to hang from a chopper for about 7 days" - Shiney AhujaTake a close look at the following films- Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Gangster, Lifeâ¦In A Metro, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Woh Lamhe and Khoya Khoya Chand and you will notice that these films starred an actor who is known for delivering some really intense performances. Yesâ¦ladies and gentleman, we are talking about the incredibly talented and good-looking Shiney Ahuja. Shiney has been one actor who has received unanimous praise for his work in almost all his films. The year 2008 may already be in its eighth month but Shiney hasn't had a single release this year. His last release was the critically acclaimed Khoya Khoya Chand (Dec 07). Now, he is all excited as he gets to open his account this year and that too with a hi-octane action film like Hijack. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shiney talks about the daredevil stunts which he has done in Hijack, his future line up of films and also why he doesn't believe in signing multi-film deals just for the heck of it. You don't want to miss reading this one!!! With Hijack, you open your account in the year 2008â¦how does it feel? It feels good because for the last six months, I have been waiting to open this account (laughs). Finally the wait is over and Hijack is releasing. From the looks of it, Hijack seems like an action packed thrillerâ¦Could you tell us a little bit about the film? Hijack is an action film but it's also a film about relationships that exist and relationships that get formed in the time period during which this incident happens. It talks about how different bonds of love, friendship and enmity rule your emotions and make you do things which you would normally not do. So what is your character in the film? I play a maintenance chief of a small airport in Chandigarh. There is something that has happened in his past for which he doesn't know whom to blame, himself or circumstances. It is this past incident because of which he has become another person. But even when people do change, their core remains the same and in his core, he is a fighter. He is a person who doesn't give up. That is somehow his biggest asset. It is this trait which helps him when he is confronted with a situation. The film is about a Hijack and it's his daughter who is on the plane. What he does to get his daughter out is the basic premise of the film and how his instincts play during the whole incident is something you need to watch. I play a maintenance chief of a small airport in Chandigarh. He is a fighter and a person who doesn't give up. Audiences usually associate you with more performance based and intense characters but here you also get to do some heavy duty action. Do you think the audiences would be excited to see this new avatar of Shiney? Wellâ¦I hope so (smiles). To be frank, I am not looking at any conscious image makeover because most of my roles besides being intense have also been really challenging. I am quite fortunate that very early in my career I have got to play characters with so many shades. My directors and writers have trusted me with such roles. As for Hijack, the script came my way and I really liked it and happened to do it. Hijack has some heavy duty action sequences. Could you tell us about some of the stunts and how was the experience shooting them. Also did you take any special training for the stunts? I had to hang from a chopper for about 7 days. I am not sure what kind of training you can take for that except make sure that you exercise and have strong arms and shoulders (laughs). Fortunately, with God's grace everything went well. I had to hang from a chopper for about 7 days Hijack has 2 leading ladies, Esha Deol and newcomer Kaveri Jha. So whom are you paired opposite? I am paired opposite Kaveri Jha, a new girl. Esha plays a pivotal role in the film when the Hijack takes place. However, I would say there is chemistry between everyone in the film. There is a beautiful chemistry between me and my daughter, there is a chemistry between me and the hijackers which is a cat and mouse kind of game happening. There is also chemistry between Esha and me, Kaveri and me and even me and the passengers. So in that sense there is a lot of chemistry in the film (laughs). There is chemistry between everyone in the film How has it been working with Esha? Truly Wonderful. She is an actress who has a lot of potential. After what I know of the film industry based on my years spent here, I truly believe that today how successful you are is based on the choice of films you make and not just how well you act. So I would say that this is a good choice that Esha has made and hope she continues doing such good work in the future too. Hijack is director Kunal Shivdasani's debut film. How has he done for his first film? I think he has done extremely well. Kunal is a renowned ad film maker having shot numerous ads. Even before we started shooting for this film I knew that this film would be par excellence compared to any other action film. But when I started shooting I was pleasantly surprised with Kunal's instincts for blocking scenes, motivating actors. He's found his own way of communicating with everybody which is very close to his personality. I think the biggest quality of any director is to make his actors feel comfortable and that's one quality that he really has. Kunal is a renowned ad film maker having shot numerous ads. The biggest quality of any director is to make his actors feel comfortable and that's one quality that he really has. Where all has the film been shot? Were there any interesting / funny moments during the shoot? The film has been shot mostly in Mumbai. We built a set to shoot the interiors of the plane. Some exterior shots of the plane have been taken in Ras- Al-Khema which is about 150 kms from Dubai and some part of the film is also shot in Mauritius. We shot in some really grueling conditions and even in extreme temperatures. As for the interesting moments, there is a scene where I am hanging from a chopper and I have to tell the guy driving the chopper 'peeche lo peecho lo' as the chopper is chasing the plane which is hijacked. After a while I was really tired of hanging and started saying 'Neeche lo neeche lo' and the crew didn't know what I was up to as the camera was still rolling. That was quite funny. We built a set to shoot the interiors of the plane. Some exterior shots of the plane have been taken in Ras- Al-Khema which is about 150 kms from Dubai Have you done most of the stunts in the film yourself? Yes, I have done all the stunts in the film myself Coming to the music of the film, firstly is there scope for music in such a hi-octane thriller Absolutely. That's the quality of the director and the music director (Justin-Uday). They have a great team work as they have worked in quite a few ads together. Because of that without interfering with any part of the screenplay and narrative, they have been able to incorporate some really fabulous numbers. We have a club number also in the film which happens before the hijack incident takes place. We have a romantic song ('Aksar') that is blended beautifully. It's not that we recorded a song and then decided where to put it. We had a story in mind and according to the story we decided that we needed a song. There was a beautiful relationship which needed to be established and we though that a song would be the best way. Even in Gangster, for that matter, I don't think any of the songs like 'Bheegi Bheegi' or 'Ya Ali' interfere with the narrative. Download Hijack wallpapers The music has been given by newcomers Justin- Uday. How do you think the music has evolved and which is your favorite track? They have done fantastically well. Close to impossible to believe that this is their first film. My favorite song is 'Aksar'. 'Aksar' reminds of your smash hitâ¦' Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai' from Gangsterâ¦.The two songs sound quite similar. Your comments on the same Aksar is a beautiful number. In fact there is a line which goes 'Kya Yehi Hai Pyaar' which sounds similar to 'Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai'. So in a way, yeah it does sound a little similar but people already like the number and that's what matters. With so much bloodshed, bomb-blasts and terrorism already happening around us over the last few days, do you think audiences would want to watch a film that again deals with terrorism and hijack. Wellâ¦I think audiences should go and watch a film like Hijack to understand that if they were caught in such a situation, what they would have done. Besides Hijack is not just a film about terrorism. It's a film about love and relationships. So the audiences should go and watch the film more for that reason than anything else. I think audiences should go and watch a film like Hijack to understand that if they were caught in such a situation, what they would have done Hollywood has been witness to many films which deal with hijack such as Air Force One, Con Air, Flight Plan, Die Hard etcâ¦Out here we have seen few films like Zameen and Yeh Dil Aashiqana that looks at a hijack scenario. Does this film bear any similarity to any of these films? No. This film doesn't bear any similarity to any of these films Are you a major action film lover and which is your favorite action flick? My all time favorite action flick is True Lies. When you say Hijack, the first thing that comes to your mind is the 9 /11 attack on the twin towers or even the Indian plane which was hijacked and taken to Afghanistan. Does the film show any instances which bear similarity to what happened during any of these incidents? Nothing at all Coming to your other projects, what's next after Hijack? There is Har Pall with Preity Zinta directed by Jahnu Barua. It's a romantic film with some light moments. It should be out sometime in October or November. Is it true that you are also planning a biker film? Yes that's true but it's too early to talk about itâ¦things have to still fall in place. Right now I am too occupied with the promotions of Hijack. Shiney you had a good last year (Bhool Bhulaiya , Metro and critical acclaim in Khoya Khoya Chand ) yet we see so less of you and never hear you signing multi-film deals like some of your colleagues. Why so? I am a sucker for scripts. If I get 3 fantastic scripts I'll sign them. I don't want to commit myself to any sort of project where the scripts are not in place. For me scripts are most important factor. Besides, I don't think Aamir or Shah Rukh or Salman have signed any 3 film deal. So there are lots of people who have not signed such deals. In fact the biggest stars in the country have not signed any such deal and I am sure they have their reasons for doing so. I don't think even Aamir or Shah Rukh or Salman have signed any 3 film deal. You have done exceptionally well in serious films, gangster flicks, action flicks, political drama and even a love story. With comedy being the flavor of the season, when do we Shiney making the audiences laugh? Very soon, in my next film Har Pall. With so many new talented directors emerging, which one of them has managed to catch your fancy in recent times? Any of them you would like to work with in the near future? Amongst the young directors who have caught my fancy, is Imtiaz Aliâ¦he is a friend of mine as wellâ¦then there is Sriram Raghavan who made Johnny Gaddaar. Lastly give us 3 good reasons to watch Hijack which opens on Aug 29. If you want to watch a hi-octane action flick, then Hijack is the film to watch If you are looking for a film which has very simple and basic emotions (like a love between a father and daughter) and see how far a man would go for the sake of his daughter, Hijack is the film to watch. Finally, if you want to watch a fabulous song on screen 'Aksar'â¦you should watch HijackSource: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 9 Aug 2008 | 12:21 pm LaBeouf is not lead in Indiana Jones

Source: NDTV Entertainment News | 9 Aug 2008 | 11:52 am Manoj Kumar wins the Om Shanti Om case against Farah and SRKThey say that strange are the ways of and in Bollywood. This couldn't have been truer than in the case of the recent Manoj Kumar and Farah Khan episode over the latter's blockbuster hit film Om Shanti Om. We said its 'strange' because when the film was released, Manoj Kumar was really upset over a particular scene which showed a spoof of him and his mannerisms. Immediately, SRK and Farah Khan extended the olive branch to the patriotic superstar and the film went on to create history in terms of B-O collections. But, as things were looking well everywhere, OSO got its release dates for satellite viewing which had retained Manoj Kumar's scene, reacting to which Manoj filed a case against the makers of OSO , seeking either a stay on the satellite screening or the deletion of the objectionable scenes in the Mumbai Sessions Court. The news is that the court has announced its verdict in favour of Manoj Kumar. Manoj Kumar's advocate said that the said the court has restrained the satellite telecasting of the film on 10/08/08 till further orders. He also added that the film cannot be shown on any satellite channel without the deletion of the objectionable scenes. Om Shanti Om released in November last year and was one of the biggest hits of 2007.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 9 Aug 2008 | 11:40 am Fans hooked to Singh is Kinng

"Not that I planned for God Tussi Great Ho and Chamku to come one after another. But fortunately I look very different in both. In God Tussi Great Ho, I'm dressed in shorts and jeans. I wear a nose-ring throughout the filmâ¦a very hip and 'today' thing to do. In Chamku, I'm a school teacher. So I dress in a saree." She is all gooey-eyed about her Chamku co-star. "Bobby and I go back a long way. He and Sunnyji are a part of my initial phase in Mumbai. Sunnyji did my first film The Hero with me when I was a nobody. He didn't have to. But he encouraged a newcomer. I'll never forget that. As for Bobby, we've done two films together before. I'd do anything for the Deols' banner, Vijeta Films, anytime." Is that why she agreed to be in Chamku although it's an out-and-out Bobby vehicle? "It's Bobby's film. But I've a substantial role. I am the shoulder he cries on. Sometimes it's good to be a shoulder instead of shouldering a film," she chuckles. As for Salman, "We really had a good time shooting God Tussi Great Ho. At last a thali filled to the brim with spicy picked ghar ka khaana fried in the sinfully calorie-filled desi ghee prepared in the heartland of Punjab and then imported out West. Crocodile Pug-Dundee, anybody? At last, a blast. Dunno if Singh is king with 2 'n's or not. But he sure is entertaining. Damn entertaining. This film is one of those feasts of flurry that leave the on-the-run characters and the audience breathless. Chalk up another winner for Akshay Kumar. As the 'happy-go-looking' Happy Singh who leaves his village in Punjab to look for a colleague who has disappeared into Australia, Akshay is a revelation. He's strong and vulnerable, funny and tragic. He's Chaplin and Jim Carrey rolled into one. 'Happy' Akshay Kumar's mission is simple. Get Lucky. And boy, does he! As Lucky Singh, Sonu Sood, all spruced up and dapper-dolled in Australia has to stay risibly inert for half the film as he goes he into a coma and is replaced by fellow-villager Happy Singh as the new Don. The film, its plot and characters are a zany crazy mad adrenaline-induced rush of caricatures and other spaced-out creatures. To his credit writer-director Anees Bazmee retains the broad raillery of his earlier hit Welcome but abandons the slapstick and ribaldry to style one of most disarming comedies in recent times. The plot is cluttered with the most elementary action and adventure in the incredulous tone of Crocodile Dundee goes from Punjab to the land of the Aussie-rans. Akshay Kumar takes care of the rest. Adapting his comic stance to a patently comicbook mood and attitude Akshay swims through the tittering tides of zany humour to emerge with one of his most finely-tuned serio-comic performances in recent times. It wouldn't be wrong to call Singh Is Kinng a showcase for Akshay's vibrant virtuosity. He goes from a buffoon in a village of Punjab to a native-abroad (with a nubile broad as arresting arm candy in the romantic songs) with the cheerful fluency of a trapeze dancer who knows his territory but still manages to make it look challenging for the onlookers. Akshay's bravura performance is punctuated by moments of bridled subtlety such as the one where our incredulous hero informs Katrina's nerdy suitor (Ranvir Shorey, wasted) why the lady they both adore must be treated special. Director Anees Bazmee treats his audience as special as Akshay's gentle caring affections for Katrina. The narration is a pulsating patchwork of goofy crime and culturally-challenged adventure where anything can happen. A 'rose lady' (Kirron Kher, as engagingly broad in her matronly ministrations as ever) pops up in the middle of an Australian suburbia offering khana and maa ka pyar to the pyar ka bhooka Sardarji-hero. In all fairness certain portions of the film are insufferably edited. What, in the name of maudlinism, are those sequences showing the Sikh dons' benevolence and charity towards African -Australians? Post-colonial Asian snobbery at its slapdash-worst. Keeping the pretensions out of the plot and focusing on the multiple mirthful masquerades that motivate the amusing plot, would have done the general health and wellbeing of this pleasantly-diverting entertainer a wealth of good. A simple storyline , packaged in a pulsating flow of music (Pritam Chakbraborty at his Singh-ing best), colours and vibrancy, Singh Is Kinng is that sort of a contagious irresistible entertainer that harks back to the those warm endearing comedies featuring Dharmendra where the hero played the compassionate do-gooder and the passionate lover-boy with equal virility and vulnerability. The supporting cast, especially Om Puri, is in splendid form, adding fuel to the funny-lines with just that right dash of devilish bravado. Akshay Kumar is effortless. The film is not. However, the effort gone into fashioning a funny feel-good film about the adventures of a simple god-fearing honest Sikh abroad (done earlier by Sunny Deol in Rahul Rawail's Jo Bole So Nihal) doesn't show up in the narration in awkward ways. What we see here is a big broad Bollywood entertainer celebrating screen heroism in all its giggling grunting groaning glory.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 9 Aug 2008 | 9:06 am Hoffman set to helm Australian play RiflemindLondon (ANI):Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman is all set to helm the London premiere of Andrew Upton's Riflemind. But not all is well for the film, as around 20 Sikh youths indulged in pelting of stones at the Annam theatre in Amritsar, Punjab, and the reason cited as the film depicts the Sikh community in a deformed style. These protestors were armed with swords and portraits of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala, the slain militant leader. Even though the police arrived on time and took charge of the situation, they were unable to nab the protestors as they had fled the scene immediately after the police's arrival. What comes as a surprise to everyone is that the film's director Anees Bazmee had always mainlined that there were objections from the Sikh community pertaining to certain scenes in the film, but they had been reshot and the final resultant was approved by the community. The situation now is that there are armed security personnel who have been posted at the theatres screening the film in Amritsar.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 8 Aug 2008 | 4:59 pm 'Jaane Tu' star Manjari to make Tamil film debutManjari, who rose to fame as Imran Khan's girlfriend in this year's hit film "JaaneSource: India News | 8 Aug 2008 | 4:55 pm Delete Manoj Kumar lookalike scene in "Om Shanti Om": courtMUMBAI (Reuters) - A Mumbai court ruled on Friday that a scene in the film “Om Shanti Om” considered offensive by veteran actor Manoj Kumar must be deleted before the television premiere of the 2007 blockbuster.Source: Reuters: Bollywood News | 8 Aug 2008 | 3:37 pm Sanju baba as never before on Sajid Superstars'Sajid Superstars' is only two episodes down (Riteish Deshmukh, Anil Kapoor) and is already creating quite some excitement amongst those who love to watch their Bollywood idols chatting and getting really naughty on the small screen. As Sajid Khan gets talking to Sanjay Dutt in the upcoming episode of 'Sajid Superstar', at Bollywood Hungama we bring to you some EXCLUSIVE tidbits on what to expect from this weekend's episode. - The show is meant to be a candid take on affairs and the one with Sanjay Dutt is going to be no different. In a heart to heart chat, he speaks about the time spent in jail over the years gone by and how he has come out stronger after each and every stint. He also talks about his drug history and how even at this age, he is back to body building with a vengeance. - In one of the lighter moments on the show, Sanju baba discloses that his driver's name is, hold your breath (literally), 'Paad'! No wonder, when he is being driven around in the city, the car windows are always found to be down! - In what is expected to be the highlight of the show, Sanjay Dutt gets emotional about his estranged relationship with Sanjay Gupta. He bares all about what went wrong, without really going hammers and tongs on the issue. - Since the show is supposed to be emotional, catty, bitchy as well as a little naughty, Sajid gives Sanjay Dutt an assignment. An assignment where Sanjay Dutt has to do some 'sit-up comedy' by cracking a joke while being seated on the couch. As would be there for everyone to see in the episode, Sanjay Dutt does such a great job that Sajid ends up giving him a perfect 10 for his act. - Getting into the past, Sanjay Dutt turns nostalgic about his appearance in a film called Khatron Ka Khiladi. He recollects that how director T. Rama Rao wanted him to get some 'shark' in his expressions. Startled at the demand of the situation, he went on to ask him many a times that how he could get a 'shark' expression. As it turned out, in his own accent, Rama Rao was actually asking for 'shock' while speaking it out as 'shark'. To add fun to the proceedings, Sanjay Dutt even goes on to act out the entire scene in exactly the same manner that Rama Rao did while explaining it to him! - Of course a Sajid Khan show is bound to have a scandalous angle to it. Well, a scandal is ready to be unearthed this weekend as well with Sanjay Dutt confessing about the number of women he has been with. While Sajid asks him to pick an option between 0-50, 50-100, 100-150 and so on, Dutt goes on to actually make his pick. What did Sanjay Dutt say on record? Well, to know more, tune in to Sajid's Superstars at 10:00 PM, Saturday on the newly launched channel COLORS.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 8 Aug 2008 | 3:34 pm Mallika wins court case against her tenantDownload image as wallpaper Her last release Ugly Aur Pagli may not have taken the B.O. by storm but that doesn't mean that Mallika Sherawat won't continue to be in the news. The latest is that the Bollywood bombshell has won a civil court to get her rented property in North Delhi vacated from a tenant who had not paid his rent dues. The property located at Dr. Mukherjee Nagar area of Delhi was given on rent by Mallika to Anuj Kumar Aggarwal (proprietor of M/S Career Plus) through a lease in January, 1998 with the condition that there would be an annual increase of 20 per cent in rent. In a suit filed by Mallika's brother Vikram Lamba sometime in 2007, it was alleged that the enhanced rent was not paid by Aggarwal and hence a decree of possession was sought besides recovering the arrears rent. However, the court dismissed her plea stating that there was not enough evidence to substantiate the same. Now having won the case, Mallika will surely heave a sigh of relief.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 8 Aug 2008 | 3:07 pm Irrfan Khan's K.I.L.B. revealedThe advertising industry today is witnessing a trend of sorts these days. Gone are the days when it used models to promote any products. The latest fad is roping in film stars and creating a hype around the product (in the marketing lingo, it's called as a 'teaser campaign'). The latest Bollywood actor to be roped in for such a teaser campaign is none other than Irrfan Khan, whose posters have been pasted all over the city asking everyone about 'K.I.L.B'. A lot of people (including the ones from the ad fraternity) have even challenged their lives on betting that the teaser campaign was indeed an extension of a leading cellphone service provider, of which Irrfan has been the Brand Ambassador. Well, as the city is still searching for the much-awaited answer, Bollywood Hungama has gone ahead and done the needful. The fact is that K.I.L.B. stands for (Kum Insurance Lene Ki Bimari) and the product is the leading life insurance company, Aegon Religare. Don't we deserve a good pat on the back for our work? Ever keen to talk about her breakdowns, her highs and lows, her fantasies and her boyfriend John Abraham, many would say she's built a career on titillating public confession. But she's also an increasingly fine and award-winning performer. It's another story that she hasn't won many awards but she definitely has won rewards even for her special appearances for lighting a 'beedi' or being a part of 'phoonk de'. It all goes to show that when Bips is on screen, she is on fire. No wonder she's hot! Bollywood Hungama's Devansh Patel gets ready for some fiery Q & A with Bipasha Basu. Statutory Warning: The contents are too hot to handle. Hi Bipasha, long time no see. Where are you now a days? Yeah that's what! I go in hibernation when I am filming and when my film is about to release I pop out of my igloo. You are no more an Ajnabee in Bollywood... I better not be Devansh (ha ha ha) ...and you've made a mark for yourself which your filmography proves. But is it time to tell all the leading ladies, Bachna Ae Haseeno? (Laughs) No yaar. I am too lost in my own space to say that. My survival technique is that the audience loves me and I have a direct interaction with them. I guess, I'm liked and that's why I'm here. My survival technique is that the audience loves me and I have a direct interaction with themd And the other interesting aspect of Bachna Ae Haseeno is also the fact that you are the senior most and highly experienced from the lot. As a teacher, what did you learn from the new bunch of students? They are hardly students. You know what happens. When I started off acting I had come with no experience in the films, but all these new comers are actually not new comers because they come with so much of preparation for being in films that they end up knowing more than what I've learnt in the last seven years. So they are as experienced as me and a person like Ranbir, he knows way too much for sure. Your last film with Yash Raj productions was two years ago, Dhoom 2. So how did two years after Yash Raj manage to rope you in for this particular role? Why not any other new comer? Well, I guess the right casting is very important in any film and when I heard the narration of this film, I just knew that Radhika is the part that I want to do and that is what they called me for. So it was like bang on! I couldn't argue much over it because I fitted the casting and at the same time it was a challenge to play the role. When you see the film, you'll come to know that there is something endearing about Radhika. I've loved my character. I have to say this. But it's quite unlucky for John that he is not the lucky boy in this film, it's Ranbir Kapoor. Did it make the 25-year-old Ranbir uncomfortable while filming romantic and intimate scenes with a 29-year-old Bipasha in the film? No, not really because we are similar minded people and at the end of the day you're an actor. You've come to do your job and you do it. It really helps on the contrary because when you have some kind of an equation with your co-star and you're on great talking terms and a friend, then the chemistry is better as it shows on screen, rather than working with a person you don't get along with. Age has nothing to do with it. You've already won the hearts of thousands by winning the Race in the U.K. Will Bachna Ae Haseeno win the race in similar fashion too? I do wish that Bachna Ae Haseeno is widely watched because it is actually a very nice and an easy film to watch. It's a kind of film where we talk about and celebrate love, which is an emotion that everyone can easily identify with, and especially today's youth will be easily able to identify with because it could be their story too. There are other USP's to the film too. The music is great; there are good looking people, great styling, excellent locations, and above all a fantastic story, which I think is a winner at the end of the day. It's a story that you follow. Ranbir and I are similar minded people and at the end of the day you're an actor. You've come to do your job and you do it. You've been a part of films which can't be tagged as commercial such as Corporate. Any plans of switching to your corporate days. I have Pankh coming up which is considered to be a little off the commercial track and I have another Bengali film that I've done which is definitely considered to be parallel cinema. So I have a mixed bag. I keep on doing things that I like and it doesn't specifically have to be in one direction. I like to keep a balance between commercial and realistic films and that's the way I like it. I don't want to be a crusader of realistic films neither do I want to be this doll in commercial films. I'd like a mix of both. I don't want to be a crusader of realistic films neither do I want to be this doll in commercial films. I'd like a mix of both. After Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and No Smoking in which you did a special appearance, any plans of working with John Abraham again. We will see if something interests us. We working together is never a plan you know. We really don't plan it. Our way of thinking is very different and our choice of cinema is different. So if we really agree on one thing we will do it but I think the best thing to do is to work less together (laughs). I believe in that. I don't know whether you know this or not but August 2 will now be officially celebrated as a Bollywood Day in the U.S. after the mega success of the Unforgettable Tour. Are you shocked? For a change, I am. But I don't know. It's quite a strange thing. I don't even understand friendship day, mothers day, fathers day, etc. For me, friends and parents are forever. You cannot deny a relationship and definitely when you talk of Bollywood, it is my ambition, my work and my work place. I cannot deny it on every other day, so I don't know what to do on one particular day like a Bollywood Day. If there is a festival organized around Bollywood worldwide, it's an interesting concept. I don't even understand friendship day, mothers day, fathers day, etc. For me, friends and parents are forever Are you particular as far as screen space is concerned when you are a part of a big film like Dhoom 2 with big actors and a film like Bachna Ae Haseeno where the only big actor is 'you'? No. Sometimes people do crap when you are three hours in the film and some person comes in for twenty minutes and steals the thunder. So screen space has definitely never been my outlook. If you see my work profile, when you do multistarrer, the fun is that they are such a number of good exciting talents all put together in one film. It's just that how you leave your mark behind which matters. There is no competition. It's what you do is important even for a few minutes. Length is not an issue. Who is Radhika? Radhika is a girl who is a dancer by profession. She is a dancer in Shiamak Davar's troupe. She aspires to be an actress. So she is today's modern and an independent girl, has a clean heart and believes in romance and being in love. She falls in love with Raj. The film is actually a journey of all these four characters how they grow to be what because of love. Any other song, which you have on your caller tune besides 'Lucky Boy'? (Laughs) Right now 'Lucky Boy' is the favourite song of lot of boys. I like the title track of 'Bachna Ae Haseeno'. I do like 'Ahista Ahista' a lot because it's got a new flavor of romance. 'Khuda Jaane' is a typical romantic ballet. I like all the songs. Even 'Small Town Girl' is different as it has bhangra beats and a situational song and Jogi Mahi, which is very traditional. So it's a mix bag. Look, I covered the entire album! Radhika aspires to be an actress. So she is today's modern and an independent girl, has a clean heart and believes in romance and being in love. We are nearing our Independence Day in ten days. Any message for all the Indians across the globe? Independence Day is highly significant for all Indians, whether they are in India or living abroad because it is for this day that our country was free and we could take up what we wanted to. Today, we are who we are because of August 15. I just fell that we should be patriotic towards our country and contribute in the progress of our country in which ever possible way. This year I am going to spread a little bit of happiness by releasing our film Bachna Ae Haseeno on the Independence Day. Why should one go and watch Bachna Ae Haseeno on August 15? I think Bachna Ae Haseeno should be seen by any person who celebrates love, who thinks that love is important, who wants to fall in love and who is in love. Being a non smoker, you've somehow got attracted to beedi's and cigarettes. When are we going to see you next jalaile a beedi or phoonk de? (laughs) Nicely worded. As far as the song is concerned, I am right now pretty happy with my 'Lucky Boy' yaar. I'm done with the smoke for the time being.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 8 Aug 2008 | 1:08 pm NY gig marks end of the road for `The Police` !British rock trio The Police played their final concert together on Thursday and were joined by the real police -- the New York City police band.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 8 Aug 2008 | 12:19 pm No film together for Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan !Contrary to speculation that Amitabh Bahchan expressed a desire to be directed by Aamir Khan, the Bollywood icon says he doesn`t remember making any such statement.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 8 Aug 2008 | 12:19 pm Nicole Kidman and hubby gush about red haired daughter !Aussie beauty Nicole Kidman and hubby Keith Urban are delighted about their newly born red haired daughter Sunday Rose.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 8 Aug 2008 | 12:19 pm Akshay Kumar all set to prove he is `King` of BO !`` Akshay Kumar is all set to prove that he is the real king of BO with his much anticipated flick `Singh is Kinng`. "I go before the release of all my films and spend 4-5 days in Ajmer Sharif. I'm able to overcome my nervousness there. This time there was no time to go days in advance. But on Friday when I'll be in Ajmer Sharif it will be the time for a very big festival called Chatti Sharif. I didn't plan it this way. But now that I've the opportunity I'll be in Ajmer Sharif throughout Chatti Sharif. On Saturday, I'll be in Jaipur to watch my film." "Yes, I'm nervous," admits Anees. "I don't make four films a year. I make one film every two years. So I've no immediate project to fall back on. I've put my entire life in Singh Is Kinng. Some years ago, when Ashutosh Gowariker was directing a film called Lagaan, he was constantly asked whether his producer Aamir Khan was ghost-directing the film. Anees Bazmee faces a worse predicament. His Singh Is Kinng producer happens to be a reputed director himself. Protests Anees, "But Vipul never interfered. He's a smart producer. He knows I've 32 years of experience behind me in the industry. Vipul has only directed three films. People are aware of my experience, and my last two films were massive hits. So when a producer invites me to make a film why would he interfere? I hate producers who intrude in my work. And anyone who signs me knows it. Vipul loves and respects me. That's why he approached me. I'd love to do another film with him. If Vipul didn't have confidence in me why would he let me direct? He'd have done it himself." At an event in Delhi on Wednesday Anees Bazmee told the cast of his new release Singh Is Kinng, "What I've made is nothing when compared with Mughal-e-Azam. Whenever I watch that film I feel I should be doing something else. How did K. Asif do it?" Since the film boasts of a number of hit combos-Akshay-Katrina, Akshay-Vipul, Akshay-Anees Bazmee-does Anees feel the film could be a victim of over-expectation? Says Anees, "I'll say only one thing. I've made a very good film. It's a much bigger film than my No Entry and Welcome. But I wasn't thinking of those films while making Singh Is Kinng. I didn't want to repeat the earlier formula. For the first time, I've incorporated action scenes in my cinema. I don't like action. But because of Akshay we had to include it." Regarding the hero being Sikh, Anees says he was sure he'd do justice the community. "A lot of my friends are Sardarjis. I'm very fond of them for their lifestyle and daring. I've never done a film that would hurt any community's feelings. Quite frequently I get rid of potentially funny scenes when I feel they're offensive. I want to distribute love not hatred through my cinema. I personally approached major Sikh communities to watch Singh Is Kinng. They pointed out scenes that were not quite right. We recalled Akshay Kumar from South Africa and re-shot those scenes. Then the Sikhs were quite happy. Our intentions cannot be doubted. People who saw the film on Wednesday say Singh Is Kinng is better than my No Entry and Welcome. We're all excited. My wife thinks this is my best work to date. My children love it. That's a relief. If people in my home don't like a film how can I expect people outside to like it?" Anees has shot It's My Life with Harman Baweja and Genelia D'Souza for 20 days. "I normally shoot one film at a time. It's because of my producer Vipul's planning that I could complete and release Singh Is Kinng eight months after my last release Welcome."Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 8 Aug 2008 | 10:52 am
