"Akshay is a non-interfering actor" - Anees Bazmee

He is a writer-turned-director whom the Bollywood residents have very aptly termed as the 'Midas Touch' man. And he has every reason to be called so. Whatever the world may know him as, but we would like to call him by his name 'Anees Bazmee', a name that's synonymous with a clear mind, no attitude, no starry airs and above all, a thorough gentleman! He is back with Singh Is Kinng, a magnanimous film that stars the Box-Office 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar. If the fate of Anees' films like, Welcome, No Entry is anything to go by, then, we are sure that he is undoubtedly sitting on a gold mine with Singh Is Kinng. Bollywood Hungama caught up with this man for a free wheeling interview. Aneesji, to start with, after all the hype and publicity blitzkrieg, your most heartfelt film Singh is Kinng is releasing this Friday. Are you nervous or excited? Frankly speaking, I am totally at a loss of words to answer this question. In my career of 33 years in Bollywood, the excitement factor simply refuses to leave me. The level of excitement, instead of decreasing, keeps on increasing with every film of mine. With my film releasing this Friday, my mind is now passing through mixed emotions of excitement, fear, anxiety et al. I have never ever seen a positive reaction to any film as much as I have got to this film. I feel all the positive reactions are just God's way of conveying his feelings through someone else's voice. With the amount of expectations that this film has built, I just hope that the film is able to live upto it. The irony of the situation is that even though everyone is talking high of this film, I feel that that no one can predict the outcome of any film before Friday. I feel that that no one can predict the outcome of any film before Friday. Was the number '08-08-08' the reason of to release the film on 8 August 2008? No sooner that we finished the shooting of Singh Is Kinng, we felt that this day was just right to release the film. The date '08-08-08' was fixed by the film's producer, who I feel, believes in numerology. He feels that this date is not just auspicious but also immensely lucky. Hence the date '08-08-08'. On a personal front, even though I refuse to believe in such stuff, I am not at all against those who believe in it. On a personal front, even though I refuse to believe in numerology, I am not at all against those who believe in it. With the kind of pre-release hysteria that Singh is Kinng has created all over, do you feel that it will be a bigger hit than Welcome and No Entry? It's a universal fact that No Entry was the biggest hit of 2005 and Welcome of 2007. But trust me; the kind of pre-release hysteria that Singh Is Kinng has created, is way beyond my previous two films. I never depend upon anybody's predictions; neither do I anticipate any film's outcome at the Box-Office. The only thing that I firmly believe is the audiences' reaction, because I feel that it is ultimately their opinion, which can simply make or break any film. I would also like to add that it's not necessary that the film that's closer to your heart will emerge as a smash hit at the Box-Office and vice versa. In my case, I cannot tell (read 'predict') that Singh Is Kinng will be a superhit only because it's very close to every member associated with it. No one, except the audience can answer your question. In other words, my audience is the 'King' for Singh Is Kinng! In other words, my audience is the 'King' for Singh Is Kinng! You have repeated Akshay Kumar yet again in Singh Is Kinng. How was your experience working with him this time? I know Akshay as someone who is an extremely simple person. Even though he is such a big star today, he is totally dissociated with any sort of starry air and attitude and he is immensely punctual on the sets. He is an extremely committed guy who is totally dedicated to his work. Unlike what the reports say, Akshay is totally a non-interfering actor. He treats every director of his as the captain of the ship. In other words, he simply submits himself to his director, as he feels that the director knows the film better. He does give his suggestions at times. But if the opposite person does not incorporate that suggestion/s, Akshay will never grudge about it. That's the beauty of this man, who, I would like to call as a thorough and a well-read gentleman. In short, he is what I would term as a Director's Actor to the core! I do know of certain actors who, at the behest of giving 'suggestions' start interfering in the film's affairs. Akshay is a far cry from such people! Akshay keeps the atmosphere filled with huge positive vibrations. Hence, it becomes fun to work at any time of the day or night. Akshay is truly a Rock star! In a nutshell, can you please tell us as to what Singh Is Kinng is all about? The film starts in a village where the main protagonist Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar) lives. Happy, like his name, wants to spread happiness everywhere he goes. He sincerely wishes to help everyone in his village, but the fact remains that nobody wants to seek his help because of their past 'experiences' with him. That's the reason they plan and send him on an 'expedition' to Australia, hoping that he will never return. But situations in Australia become such that Akshay lands up becoming a 'King' there. In a nutshell, the film is all about what happens when a Mr. 'Do-Gooder' becomes a criminal and how it affects the people around him. Trade is abuzz with the news that Akshay has overtaken SRK to become the new No. 1 in Bollywood. What's your take on that? Let me tell you, in my Bollywood tryst till date, I have never believed in the number game as I feel that the 'winner' of the game keep changing every Friday. If a certain film is a superhit, then, that person (irrespective of him being a hero/director) immediately gets heralded as 'No. 1'. Likewise, if the same person's film flops, he very quietly gets pushed to No. 4 or maybe lower than that! But as far as Akshay is concerned, I can vouch for his immense fan-following, not just in India, but globally because I have seen people literally screaming and shouting his name everywhere he went! The crowds simply used to go berserk at his mere sight. Leaving apart the No. 1 tag, I can surely tell you that Akshay Kumar has definitely become a major Superstar! I can surely tell you that Akshay Kumar has definitely become a major Superstar! What are the locations where Singh Is Kinng has been shot? And what is it that makes it the most expensive film of 2008? One has to see the film to experience the locations as they come alive on the silver screen. We have shot this film on a grand scale in exotic locations like Egypt, Gold Coast (Australia) and even Chandigarh. And as far as it being the 'most expensive film' is concerned, we have really spent a lot majorly on the 'look' of the film, something that shows in the film. I do agree that shooting in Australia was an expensive affair, but the film had certain scenes that simply had to be shot there. Pritam's lilting music serves as one of the major highlights of the film. What's your take on the same and what's your favourite song from the album? Working with Pritam was really a good experience. He is one of the most sincere and dedicated music composers that we have today. He has a bright future ahead. And as far as my favourite song from the film is concerned, I like all the songs so much that my favourite track keeps changing everyday, depending upon my mood! I like all the songs so much that my favourite track keeps changing everyday Is Singh Is Kinng a comedy film or an action-comedy? With the presence of the daredevil Akshay Kumar, can the audience look forward to see some breathtaking stunts? Besides comedy, the film has its share of action moments too. But since I do not like making action films, there's a tint of humor even in those action scenes! The fact is that I hate to show blood in my films. But with Akshay at the helm of things, it becomes needless to say that he has done a marvelously splendid job! The scene in which he jumps from one moving lift to another is sure to make the audiences' heart skip a beat! Besides that, there is one action scene in Gold Coast, which required Akshay to be riding a jet-ski and follow a helicopter. The Australian authorities do not allow anyone to do such stunts without a license, for which one has to pass a formal exam. Even though Akshay knew how to ride, he took the trouble of waiting patiently for 12 hours for the exam! At the end of the day, when all of us would sleep after a dead tired day, Akshay would still sit with his book and read for the exams. It's really amazing to see a person of Akshay's stature to do all this, only for obtaining permission. At the end of the day, when all of us would sleep after a dead tired day, Akshay would still sit with his book and read for the exams. Singh Is Kinng has been in the news for many reasons (mostly positive). Akshay's video with Snoop Dogg was one of them. How was the experience? When I had made Welcome, I had shot the title song with the entire cast of the film. We wanted something of this sort for Singh Is Kinng too. That's when everyone suggested of roping an international artist. This suggestion was made keeping in mind the current generation's craziness about foreign artistes. After having made umpteen researches about the artistes, we finally zeroed down on Snoop Dogg. It was only for the glamour aspect that we roped him in. Initially, I thought it would be a difficult task shooting with him, but he turned out to be an extremely professional guy, not just about his commitment towards the time but also to the overall song itself! Akshay is known to be the notorious 'Editing Master'. What was your experience with him on that front? I too have heard about the same. But I don't think that there's even 1% of truth in it. The reason being if you watch Welcome, and if Akshay Kumar was the 'Editor Master', then, there wouldn't have been such lengthy roles of Nana, Anil Kapoor, Katrina and Paresh Rawal. Instead, the entire focus would have solely been on Akshay himself! I feel that the rumors about Akshay have been planted by some vested interests only because Akshay today is a very successful man. I am very sure that those who know Akshay well will never buy such statements about him. Let me ask this question commonly to everyone that, 'If the actors are at the liberty of calling the shots, then, what's the point of having a full-time director and an editor?' If the actors are at the liberty of calling the shots, then, what is the point of having a full-time director and an editor? Is it true that Salman wants the sequel to No Entry to start as soon as possible? Many people want the sequel of No Entry to be made. As far as Salman is concerned, whatever he tells once is equivalent to others telling it 20 times. Salman did tell me to make a sequel of No Entry, which itself is a signal that he is keen on doing the film. And since he is a very close friend of mine, he has got all the right to ask whatever he wants of me. There are rumors that you have started charging Rs 7 crores for your films. Comment. I do not confirm neither deny the figures. All that I can say is that I am getting what I rightly deserve. You are making a galore of sequels. What's your take on sequels? I feel that making a sequel is a good thing. The reason being that since the first film (original) is already a hit; a positive image will prevail in the audiences' mind about the film. Also one need not waste time (unlike the original) in establishing the film's characters. Making sequels, I feel, is a very responsible job that needs to be handled very carefully. As far as Salman is concerned, whatever he tells once is equivalent to others telling it 20 times Where do you see yourself 10 years down the line? Frankly speaking, I don't plan things because I'm a very staunch believer in God. I just take one day at a time and leave the rest to Him. Will you ever turn to producing films, as is the trend these days? Firstly, I do not follow trends just for the sake of following it. And secondly, as far as me producing films is concerned, I doubt if I will ever go in that direction, as my mathematics has been pathetically weak since my school days and it continues to be so till date (laughs). Making sequels, I feel, is a very responsible job that needs to be handled very carefully. Any regrets so far in life? As such, there is no regret. But, I do feel sometimes, that the way all my directors had got an Anees Bazmee in their lives, I just hope that I too get the 'Anees Bazmee' of my life! Can you shed a sneak-peak on your next film Its My Life? It's My Life is loosely based on the Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha genre of filmmaking. It's a very lighthearted romantic film based on college youth. While Genelia plays a student, Harman is an ex-student. And like every ex-student, Harman, too finds it difficult to dissociate from the college memories even after a couple of years after he passes out. Then, there's Harman's father (played by Nana Patekar) who acts as the main obstacle between the two lovers. The story proceeds from there. Lastly, cite just one reason as to why should a person watch Singh is Kinng? There are millions of reasons to watch the film. But, I don't want to brag about the film just because it's my film. But if I had to cite one reason to watch the film, then, all that I would say is that Singh Is Kinng is a total 'paisa-vasool' film! Need I say more!

Big B and Aamir Khan have no plans to act in a film together

Contrary to speculation and rumours that the Big B has expressed a desire to be directed by Aamir Khan, the fact is no commitment, verbal or otherwise has been made regarding any film bringing the two actors together. According to excited reports, the Big B at the premiere of Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na expressed a desire to be directed by Aamir. No such exchange ever happened. Says the Big B, "I've no idea about this. And if sections of the media in Mumbai are talking about such collaboration then they know something that I don't." A source has even more to say on this imagined collaboration. "Such talks are embarrassing to both Mr Bachchan and Mr Khan. Firstly, because both think the other is desirous of getting together with the other and is therefore reluctant to refute the rumour….Not when Mr Bachchan gracefully went to Aamir's nephew's premiere as a goodwill gesture. Now everyone is trying to read unintended meanings into a sweet social gesture from the industry's most respected actor to another. Secondly, Aamir has no intention of directing a film in the near future. Taare Zameen Par was a project that just happened to him. At that point of time too he wasn't interested in turning director. Now he will focus on acting alone." The Bachchan-Khan collaboration rumours are embarrassing to both on another count. Four years ago Aamir was committed to act in film to be produced by AB Corp Ltd which Aamir's cousin Mansoor Khan was to direct. But then Mansoor gave up filmmaking. And Aamir moved on. Today it seems unlikely if not entirely impossible for the AB and AK to come together. "Not that there's any lack of mutual respect," adds the source. "Both the parties respect the space that the other occupies. But working together? That seems a little far-fetched."

"I am just not getting enough rest" - Anees Bazmee

Anees Bazmee is a tired man. For the last one year he has been working non-stop on his projects. If it was Welcome earlier, it is Singh Is Kinng now. In fact, this is the first ever instance of two of his major films arriving in a span of one year since normally his films take quite some time to be completed. However, as Bazmee has earlier also confessed, it is due to sheer superb planning by Vipul Shah which enabled Singh Is Kinng to reach the finishing line in less than a year's time. Still, working non-stop on Singh Is Kinng seems to be taking a toll on Bazmee. While it has been less than 10 days since the final copy of the Akshay Kumar-Katrina starrer was dispatched, he has already run straight into his next film which is tentatively titled It's My Life. "Yes, it has been a stressful time off late. I was thinking of taking some rest after meeting the deadline of 08/08/08 (the day when Singh Is Kinng releases). However, it seems that it would be some time before I am able to remove my shoes for a good period of time", laughs Bazmee whose latest film has taken a very good advance booking ever since the counters opened at number of centers over the weekend gone by. "I am hearing good reports as well, though I am not sure for how long would I actually be able to enjoy the film's release", says Bazmee, "That's because soon after the opening weekend, I head straight for shooting my next film with Nana Patekar, Harman Baweja and Genelia D'Souza. Earlier we had thought of beginning work on film a few weeks after the release of Singh Is Kinng. However, now the dates have been juggled around in such a manner that we would have to get shooting in the week of 11th August itself." But why the hurry? "Well, we had to go as per Nana's dates. There were some hassles there and we were left with no other choice but to begin work earlier. Even in the last few days, I have been busy getting the supporting actors in place for the film." Further opening up, Bazmee says, "From shooting Singh Is Kinng to getting actors dub for it to promoting the film to working simultaneously on It's My Life - it has been quite some hectic time. Though I am overall happy with the pace of life due to good work happening, I still feel that I deserve to take a short break at the least. I was looking forward to making a trip to Delhi and other nearby places with my family after Singh Is Kinng. Now let's see when this idea eventually materializes."

The reclusive cinematographer par excellence Baba Azmi has finally decided to direct a film. And the one writing the script for Baba is none other than his illustrious brother-in-law Javed Akhtar. Says the reclusive Baba known for his astonishing camerawork in films like Hum Paanch. Tezaab, Prem and Mr India, "I've often wondered why I haven't directed a film so far. And the only answer I can come up with is, sheer laziness." It was his sister Shabana and her husband Javed Akhtar who urged Baba to take the plunge. "Javed has written his first script since Farhan's Lakshya for me. That's taken care of. Now, I need to get the cast in place. Sadly, there's no place for Shabana or my wife (the talented Tanvi Azmi) in my film." Baba hasn't decided on a date when he'll start. "Why should I restrain myself? I'll start whenever everything is in place."

"I play a girl who deals with guns and danger on a daily basis" - Neha Dhupia

Click above for more stills Neha Dhupia has mostly been known for her sizzling and glamorous characters in films like Qayamat, Julie, Kya Kool Hai Hum. However, Neha is going to surprise all and sundry with her role in the upcoming flick Singh is Kinng, where she plays a part of the gang of Punjab. With Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar for company, Neha gets to do some heavy duty action sequences in this film. We bring you an exclusive interview where Neha talks about her experience of working on one of the biggest flicks of this season, Singh is Kinng. What is your role in Anees Bazmee's Singh is Kinng? Well, I am the only girl in the entire gang of Sardars… I am personally a north Indian, but being the only girl in the gang of Punjab was overwhelming. My character is called Julie, she is a full on action packed girl who deals with guns and danger on a daily basis. My character Julie, is of a full on action packed girl who deals with guns and danger on a daily basis You are working for the first time with the entire team (including producer Vipul Shah and director Anees Bazmee) except for Akshay Kumar, how was your experience? I had a whale of a time working with the entire team of Singh Is Kinng. It was great working with Vipul Shah who as a producer never ever wants any of his artistes to be uncomfortable. He has an amazing ability to get friendly with the artists; he never behaves like a stingy producer and really takes care of the entire unit really well. Anees sir is a totally different school altogether; he thinks and breathes laughter, he is very funny. I had a blast working with all of them. Since there is a lot of action in the film, tell us some thing about the action sequences? Yes, I must say that the action in the film looks amazing. We are a huge gang of goons who are all Sardars, everyone expected macho men as gangsters, but these are Sardars, it looks really hilarious. When we started shooting, I didn't know that I would be pushed in to such hard-core action. My most memorable action sequence was this scene (shot in Australia) where I had to pop out of a limousine in a beautiful evening gown and start shooting with a gun in my hand. It was very difficult but I managed to do it well, now I think I am cut out to be an action heroine. I had to pop out of a limousine in a beautiful evening gown and start shooting with a gun in my hand How was your experience while shooting for such action scenes? Though the sequences were a bit difficult at times, I guess I enjoyed shooting every bit of it. The first time when I used the pistol for a sequence, I literally got scared of the loud sound. It took me some time initially to get used to it because that was the first time I used a gun to such an extent but later I became so used to doing it that whenever I didn't have any hard core action on my schedule, I used to get bored. The song Bas Ek King is gaining popularity amongst the masses; how was it shooting for the song? Bas Ek King is a wonderful song, shot very lavishly. We had a blast shooting for the song. Pritam has given beautiful music and I personally believe that this song will be as good as 'Kajra Re'; it will become an anthem of sorts. While we were shooting for this song, we were simultaneously shooting for the promotional track only with me, so I had to change my costume every 10 minutes; it was like now I am shooting for the title track and now I am shooting for the special promotional track. After a point I lost count number of changes that I had. It was quite tiring but we all managed to do a good job. Who has choreographed the track? Was it difficult picking up steps since you were shooting for two songs simultaneously? Well, Remo has choreographed the songs and I think he has done a fabulous job. Though it was a bit difficult to shoot for two tracks together and remember the steps, I coped up with it quite well because I love dancing and enjoy it a lot. The songs look beautiful not only because they are well shot but also because every one is looking great. You look simply stunning in the film. Who has done the designing for this gorgeous look of yours in the film? Well, my costumes are designed by Pooja and Thea who apart from being fabulous designers are also my good friends. I give 100% credit to them for making me look so good in the film. Almost all the males in the film are playing Sardars, so obviously they must have taken more time in getting in to their costumes and makeup etc. How was the experience looking at all of them getting ready for their shots? The experience was really hilarious. It was funny to look at everyone on the sets clad in a pagdi with beard and moustache etc. In the beginning it was a little weird to see men taking more time on the sets to get ready but later on it was fun. It was difficult for them at times because some times the beard used to prick or they used to feel extremely hot in the pagdi and the outfit. It must have been a record of sorts and happened for the first time in the history of Indian Cinema that we girls got ready before the guys (laughs). In the beginning it was a little weird to see men taking more time on the sets to get ready but later on it was fun Usually when there are two or more actresses in a film, small spats are bound to happen, any such thing that happened between you and Katrina? No, not at all... We never had any kind of problem while shooting together, in fact I think she is very professional and we both enjoyed working together. Akshay Kumar being around on the sets means a lots of pranks, were you the victim of any of his pranks? For a change, no! Not at all… Akshay didn't play any pranks with me this time because I was a victim of the same on the sets of Garam Masala so this time I was extra alert and didn't fall prey to any of his tricks.

"I must be doing really well considering the recent garbage that's been floating ...

Akshay Kumar sets the record straight about Fear Factor, death defying stunts, awards, rumours, Sylvester Stallone, Vipul Shah and of course Singh is Kinng. First things first, Fear Factor – Khatron Ka Khiladi is already making waves in India. Was it an easy decision to sign up for your new TV show and how do you think the show has shaped up? 'KKK' is through and through me. It agreed instantly to host the show. It has my kind of a concept, my passion, my area and oh, yeah, even my kind of women also. Big screen or small screen doesn't bother me. As long as I entertain people, I'm happy. I believe the show is doing incredibly well and the channel Colors, has had the biggest opening a channel has ever had. When you've got something good like this then it makes all those crazy days worth it. Which has been your most difficult stunt till now, you know, the kind when your heart was in your mouth? I wouldn't say it was my most difficult stunt but it was definitely the most dangerous. Recently, I was shooting for a film titled, Blue, in Bahamas. It was just like any other day of the shoot with me diving down to 80 ft and being surrounded by 40 bated sharks. I was told to kungfoo a goon inside the deep waters and I was doing just that but the force of the kick I gave him propelled me up which caused me to crack the top of my head open on a rusted roof of the ship wreck on which we were shooting. Since I was bleeding, the stunt coordinator feared that the bated sharks will smell the blood and probably eat me alive. So he was trying to keep the sharks as far away from me so that they could take me to the surface safely. I'd definitely say my heart was in my mouth. They don't call us heroes for nothing, you know! Now to Singh Is Kinng, what do you think makes a person a king? Anyone who can put others happiness before his own, someone who can give joy without demanding anything in return and someone who can pick up others even when they maybe falling themselves is worthy of being a king. All it really takes is a good positive attitude to make you a king. You are the first leading man to play a Sikh in a film, how did that come about? See, I don't know whether you've noticed or not but I've always tried to break the mould. My heart beats for films and my heart told me that I must make a difference and show my true Punjabi colours in a loveable manner. I wanted to play a Sikh who can stamp his love on people's mind. I got the title for the film from the back end of a truck so in a way you can say that people of India gave me the story. Was it tough to handle the beard and the turban? Let's put it this way, the second I wore my pagdi, I felt like a king. The honour and the pride that seeped through my veins turned me into a Sardar. It was an honour to wear the turban. Even though I did have slight difficulty in rescuing my heroine, KK (Katrina Kaif) while wearing a pagdi but aside from that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lately, it's been reported that you are now the highest paid actor in India and the current reigning superstar. Do such tags hold any meaning for you? Tags, labels, headlines just exist for the moment. It's the memories that I can give to my fans that last forever. That's why I'll never buy an award. If my fans love my work then that's more than any material in my hand is ever worth. Maybe honours and awards don't come my way very often but whenever I receive an honourable award I know it comes from the right hearts and not from my own heavy wallet. Recently you gave a fiery interview regarding certain elements that you feel bring down your film, why do you think you are being targeted? Why would you think I am targeted? You only ever really hear crap about people when they are doing well, its sod's law, the minute you rise a little there's always someone that wants to drag you down. I take it as a compliment nowadays, I must be doing really well considering the recent garbage that's been floating around. We live in a fickle world. Some people are only ever happy when they are complaining about something, I'm not worried though, it's like water off a ducks back to me now. What did you and Sly Stallone talk about during the Kambhaqht Ishq shoot, any tips, banter? I cannot and will not repeat what me and Sly shared behind closed doors. I could never reveal two stuntmen's secret ingredients now could I! But I can tell you that he is such a wonderful gentleman, so many stunt stories and experiences to tell, he could talk for hours. As for tips, I think, it was my coach that was giving him tips on how to look after his body after everything he's been through. He's had such an incredible life, even he's shocked he can still walk. Certain reports have come up that there are differences between you and Vipul Shah, true? Don't worry it was probably just another dig at me and my movie to divert my attention before the release. As always it failed miserably as me and Vipul are and always have been on the greatest of terms. I'm not one to shout my love for him from the rooftops but I will say that he is a dear friend and a wonderful director and producer, what more can one ask for? Who is the real King of Bollywood? Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, hands down. When a man after reigning for more than 40 years can still be loved, treasured, cherished and admired by all from across the globe then it has to be him. And I must say, that with his humble attitude and his wonderful soul that protects him, nobody in my generation can touch that man's status, nobody can even come close. Yet anyway only the future holds that information.

Manoj Kumar takes SRK, Farah Khan and Sony Entertainment Television to court

The tussle between 70's superstar Manoj Kumar and SRK- Farah Khan doesn't seem to have ended. After months of keeping quiet on the whole controversy surrounding the way he was portrayed in last year's blockbuster Om Shanti Om, veteran actor Manoj Kumar seems to have raised the issue once again. It may be recalled that Manoj Kumar was upset with the way he had been made fun of in OSO and had even asked Shah Rukh and Farah Khan to delete the particular scene in which one of his look-alikes is beaten up by the cops at a movie premiere. While SRK and Farah had initially assured the veteran actor that they would do the needful, the scene still continued to be in the film. Now as Om Shanti Om gets all set to be telecast on Sony Entertainment Television on the 10th of August, Manoj Kumar has decided that he has had enough. Furious by the whole fiasco, Manoj Kumar has reportedly filed a case against Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan and even Sony Entertainment Television in a city civil court asking for deletion of the scene or ordering a stay on the telecast of the film on national television. The matter is expected to come up for hearing today.
