‘Baghdad High’: You Can Imagine the Drama. Or Can You?

It sounds like a fluffy reality show: Four high-school buddies videotape their senior year. Hayder is obsessed with Tupac and Britney Spears, Anmar is a conservative Christian in love with a girl, Ali’s a class clown, and Mohammed is his inseparable best friend. But the kids go to Iraq’s Tariq bin Zaid High School, in an area assaulted by bombings and kidnappings. When Anmar’s girlfriend doesn’t call for a few days, he wonders—is she giving him the shaft, or has something even worse happened?
