Karan Johar posts details about his upcoming films in his latest blog'Films and more films'; that is his new pledge. Keeping himself occupied, Karan Johar finally decides to let the cat out of the bag and reveals the five new films Dharma Productions is busy with. His latest blog, www.mynameiskaran.com has an update on the upcoming film projects from his production house. Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra starrer Dostana is all ready to hit the screens on November 14. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film's music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar, which would release on September 30. Karan is also producing a film, which is tentatively titled, Wake Up Sid! The film would be directed by 24-year-old Ayan Mukherji (Kajol and Rani's cousin). Karan informs that the film is a 'coming of age meets a slice of life' kind of film. The film has an unusual pair of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma and would release in September 2009. Next up is Rensil D'Silva's (Rang De Basanti's famed screenplay writer) directorial debut film, which apparently is a thriller with global terrorism as its backdrop. The principal cast comprises of Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi. The film would be ready for release by the autumn in 2009. Karan's debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which is being adapted into an animation film, titled Koochie Koochie Hota Hai would be Dharma Productions' first animation film. The film will be co-produced by Prana (a seasoned animation house). However, this animation film, which has a plot similar to K2H2, will be picturized on animals and the animal kingdom. The core love story is between three dogs, and the supporting cast has roosters, bears, pigs, cats, and many others from the barn. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani essay the voices for 'Rocky', 'Angie', and 'Tina' respectively, (minor tweak on the original names). The potential release date is late summer of 2009. Last but not the least is My Name Is Khan, which goes on floors in November this year and would be shot at length in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, and Mumbai. The film is scheduled to release by end of next year. Karan adds that, "the film at heart is a love story. At the soul of it, it makes a social comment, and at the whole of it, it's a human triumph tale." Five films in the making, Karan Johar definitely has a lot going on. Keep it up KJo.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Jul 2008 | 4:03 pm Live Chat: Ravi Kishan on July 24 at 1500 hrs ISTIn an industry called 'Showbiz', where it's tough (read 'real tough') to make an identity for oneself, here is a man who has not just made a place but also a palace for himself....in the hearts of everyone alike! He is none other than Ravi Kishan, who has simply proved wrong the saying 'One can't be successful if sailing in two boats'. The reason being he has not just been successful in Bollywood but also enjoys supreme supremacy in the North India too! So much so that he is called as the 'Big R' of the North! In Bollywood, Ravi has to his credits some of the films like 1971, Aan, Tere Naam, Phir Hera Pheri to name a few. He also showed his emotional side in the famous reality show 'Big Boss'. Not just that, Ravi was also the host of the show 'Bathroom Singer'. But for now, Ravi will be seen in a pivotal role in Ganesh Acharya's Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, which is set to release this week. The good news is that Ravi Kishan will be live on Bollywood Hungama's Celebrity Chat to have an exclusive one-on-one with all of you only on Thursday, July 24, at 1500 hrs IST.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Jul 2008 | 3:38 pm Walt Disney buys the Home Video rights of TZP for the overseas marketTaare Zameen Par is without a doubt, one of the best films to come out from Bollywood. A film put together by creative geniuses was bound to touch millions of hearts. After coming off theatres, audiences were eagerly awaiting the film's DVD release. Finally, TZP has come out on DVD now. An interesting fact however is that Walt Disney has bought overseas home video rights of the film. TZP is the first Indian film bought by Walt Disney for the home video distribution in the US, UK, Canada and Australian market. TZP, the film, which dealt with the life of dyslexic child, was not only appreciated in India but also overseas. Walt Disney has always been associated with children's films and that might be the chief reason behind the whole deal. Aamir Khan surely must be on the seventh heaven. The film's DVD has a special commentary by Aamir Khan on the making of the film, behind scenes and also copies of the paintings done by Darsheel and Aamir in the film.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Jul 2008 | 1:34 pm Kabootar fetches Govind Namdeo best actor awardAnubhav Sinha has seen a great kick-start for his film Kabootar which was premiered last week in the competition category at Osian's Cine Fan, New Delhi. If a stunned audience response followed by a standing ovation was not good enough for his production which has debutant Maqbool Khan at the helm of direction, Kabootar now has another feather up its sleeves. It has won Govind Namdeo, one of the key protagonists from the film, an award for the Best Actor. No wonder Anubhav Sinha and Maqbool Khan are exhilarated with the response their film has got and are now geared up to travel with the film across the globe in numerous other film festivals. Says Anubhav Sinha who is quite happy with the way his film has been received by media as well as audience, "Kabootar is my first production while for Maqbool Khan too, this is his first film where he has gone independent as a director. He has been with me for last so many years but taking complete responsibility as a director is a different experience altogether. Same holds good for me as a producer and together, for both of us, it was breaching into a completely new territory." Talking fondly about Kabootar and Maqbool, Anubhav goes on to add, "I was sitting with the audience when Kabootar was being screened and felt extremely proud about the film as well as Maqbool when I saw the response of the audience and the world filmmaker's community. There were quite a few national and international directors who saw the film and gave their Thumbs Up to the film." One could witness the crowd reaction being quite exemplary. "It was an emotionally charged atmosphere. The audience gave us a standing ovation. Some were crying and some were almost on the verge of breaking down (the film has a tragic ending where none of the protagonists survive and meet with a brutal end). No one left the auditorium for as long as 40 minutes and the Q&A session which followed enjoyed a very good participation", continues Anubhav who has come a long way since his ill fated Cash. Talking more about the 'unprecedented' response that the film has received at the festival, Anubhav informs, "Abofazl Jalili, noted Iranian filmmaker who was also on the jury, mentioned thrice on the stage that Kabootar was his favorite. Coming from a filmmaker of his stature, this was a huge compliment. Overall, it has been a highly satisfying and encouraging time for me." An award being bestowed upon the movie may have come as an icing on the cake. "Pretty much so", says Anubhav who is glad that Govind Namdeo played the important part of Bhadauria, a Mafioso from the small town Dhaulpur (Rajasthan) where the film is set, "It is a great high to have a newcomer direct a gritty film like Kabootar and an actor win an award for that as well. Now I look forward to what next is in store for all of us as we travel internationally with the film." Debutant Maqbool Khan continues to be his humble self even as he tries to conceal his excitement over the response that his first film has got and says in a sober tone, "Govindji (Namdeo) has been a huge contributor to Kabootar. His study of the graph which the character follows was so impeccable. On behalf of the team of Kabootar, I can't congratulate him enough for the award he has won." Was he really counting on awards while making Kabootar? "Not at all", Maqbool is quick to respond, "The film wasn't really made for a festival circuit and it is only incidental that we got an opportunity to bring it at Osian's. There have been quite a few highs I have experienced at the event. Of course, Govindji winning an award is special since it is my debut film." Talking about the commercial aspects of the film, Maqbool comments, "What really worked for me in a big way was the audience response to the film. There were laughs and silences at just the right spots (the way I had envisioned) while the way crowds reacted to the film was just akin to what one witnesses in a hardcore commercial film. Kabootar was always meant to be a commercial film for the masses and looking at the way audience has warmed up to the film, I am now keeping my fingers crossed for it's theatrical release." Commercial release for Kabootar is however still a few months away as an early 2009 release timing is being planned for this film which mainly stars youngsters like Ankur Khanna, Harsh Lunia, Vishal Thakkar and Nikhil Yadav.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Jul 2008 | 12:38 pm Cyrus smitten by sexy Martin, desires to be the next Mrs Martin!!Singer Miley Cyrus seems to have lost out her heart to the much married `Coldplay` lead singer, Chris Martin.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 22 Jul 2008 | 12:34 pm Star-wives refuse to take sides in the Salman-SRK saga !Just when you thought that the three Khan`s had finally put all the differences to rest and were indeed a happy gang as they have always stated to be, the famous Salman-SRK brawl at Kat`s party has once again left tongues wagging and mouths open.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 22 Jul 2008 | 12:34 pm Akshay out to settle scores with Rani, refuses film !He is the current reigning king of Bollywood and it`s going to take much more than just big banners for Akshay Kumar to give his nod to film projects as the actor is bent upon settling the scores with all his foes.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 22 Jul 2008 | 12:34 pm Christian Bale accused of assaulting mom and sister !The `Dark Knight` star Christian Bale is to be questioned by the police after being accused by his mother and sister of assault.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 22 Jul 2008 | 12:34 pm Miley Cyrus overshadows `Hannah` with new album!Hannah Montana may be the most potent phenomenon in Hollywood right now — bigger than Batman, bigger than Brangelina. Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 22 Jul 2008 | 11:27 am "I had great fun shooting for Money Hai..." - Sophie ChoudryDownload image as wallpaper Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, the comedy releasing this week, has a surprise element in the form of Sophie Chodhry. Though this Ganesh Acharya directed film has Celina Jaitley and Hansika as the leading ladies with Esha Deol in a special song and dance appearance, Sophie too has been added to the star cast so as to up the glam quotient of Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. Confirms multifaceted Sophie who has been active on number of fronts like music videos, VJ, host and of course acting, "Makers of the film had requested that I be a part of the film. I couldn't say no since there are quite a few reputed names involved. I consented to play a part where I will be sharing screen space with Govinda." How was it working for the film? It must have been a picnic considering Money Hai Toh Honey Hai is an out and out comedy with ample fun moments. Also, she wasn't quite required to don the responsibility of being one of the leads. "It indeed was great fun and I got a chance to interact with lot of interesting people on the sets of the film", reveals Sophie, "I went to shoot in Mauritius and it indeed was holds-no-bar fun out there. Even though it was a short stint, I came back with fond memories." What else is happening beyond Money Hai Toh Honey Hai? "Currently, all my energies are focused on Daddy Cool. It is one 'dhamaal' film which I am doing with Indra Kumar. In fact this week itself, I would be shooting for a fantastic number. The film also stars Sunil Shetty, Aashish Chaudhary, Aarti Chhabria and Tulip Joshi", says Sophie excitedly. Talking about her upcoming films, Sophie goes on to add, "Of course there is Alibaug about which I am hugely excited since the time I started shooting for it. Freeze is progressing well too. Overall, I am happy with the way things are looking up for me. Every year has played a good role in my progression as an actor and with the bunch of films I have in hands, it is only going to get better in months to come."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 Jul 2008 | 11:23 am The Unforgettable Tour - Day 2The Bachchans' Unforgettable tour kicked off in grand style in Toronto last week. The Unforgettable Stars comprising of the Bachchan trio, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh and Vishal Shekhar were warm-heartedly greeted by a jam-packed audience ...Source: Oneindia - Entertainment | 22 Jul 2008 | 11:17 am Unforgettable Diary: Day 2 - Bachchans play Calypso beats in TrinidadClick above for more stills From Toronto, the magic moved on to Trinidad where eager fans were waiting to catch a glimpse of the Bachchan family. Incidentally, Amitabh Bachchan isn't entirely unfamiliar with the place since he had visited Trinidad a couple of decades back. - Even as the 'Unforgettable' team was packing bags from Toronto, news reached that Trinidad was a sell out already. However, while pre-event celebrations were on, there was some 'gham' in store as the flight was delayed from Toronto to Miami; the stopover for Trinidad. As the team cooled its heels for a good 3-4 hours, all it did was crash on bed once the entourage reached Trinidad after a cumulative 14 hours of exhausting traveling. - While 'dead tired' was the best way to describe the state of stars (well, even stars have their off-moments), sparkles came in the form of countless fans who were patiently waiting at the airport and even the hotel lobby. Not quite surprising even as the stars set their feet on ground well into mid night. - As is a known fact, a good part of Trinidadian population belongs to Indian origin. However, not many know how to speak Hindi. Even then, when it came to popular Bollywood songs, they could well be heard reciting them. Not just that, on reception, to everyone's pleasant surprise, there were two huge plasma screens playing popular Hindi songs. - While it was hardly a surprise to see Amitabh Bachchan being a known name in Trinidad, what brought a smile on Abhishek Bachchan's face was to see huge hoardings of him endorsing Motorola cell phones. Last one heard, he was grinning from ear to ear with his global popularity. - Shock shock! Just when it seemed that everything was going just perfect, news reached that a couple of key people from the core technical team were stuck in Puerto Rico, an alternate stopover for those who were not coming through Miami. It became a little hectic for the organizers as they made frantic arrangements for the engineers to be brought down from Puerto Rico to Trinidad through a chartered flight. - Even in the face of adversities, Vishal urged organizers not to worry and assured them that things would fall in place in spite of technical glitches. With 15 years experience of live performances behind him, he believed that whenever there was a bigger 'panga', an event always turned out to be even more outstanding - Hours before the lights went on for the show, audiences were witnessed standing in long queues while waiting impatiently for the gates to open for Queens Park Oval, a cricket stadium in Trinidad. - From a packed audience in Toronto to a 12000 strong crowd in Trinidad, it was an unbelievable experience for everyone involved. The sets and lighting may not necessarily be equated to the ones witnessed in Toronto but the atmosphere was simply eclectic. No wonder, the moment show kicked off, it was hysteria all over. - Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh were in their elements all over again as they got together into the 'Bluffmaster' act for the umpteenth time. However, no one seemed to be minding that at all as mad frenzy overpowered everyone and everything else which was happening all over. - What surprised Vishal and Shekhar was the impromptu jam that Abhishek and Riteish got themselves into even as the composers were aiming to do something different with a Gujarati song in play. Abhishek took the mike away from them and got into his own act which got the house down. A folk number with a fusion feel to it, it turned out to be one performance worth to be remembered as the audience were seen jumping on their chairs. - The moment Amitabh Bachchan decided to take charge, there wasn't anything audible at all for full two minutes! Big B had been to the place before in the 80s and hence the connection was pretty much apparent. Confessing that Trinidad was like a home town for him, he amazed everyone with a calypso jam. Highlight of the event was Mr. Bachchan - the composer - as he took charge of instructing the men behind guitar, keyboard and other key instruments. Result was a calypso jam which reminded audience of 'Jumma Chumma' [Hum]. - Talking of 'Jumma Chumma', in a well laid out tribute sequence to the Big B, along with Abhishek and Ash, Ritiesh and Preity too joined the fun and did their own jig on the superhit chartbuster from the 90s. Apart from 'Jumma Chumma', the song which took the cake was 'Saara Zamaana' [Yaarana] which had Amitabh Bachchan arriving in ever-so-famous bulb costume. Soon he was joined by all other youngsters as well with the best part about the performance being each of them wearing similar costumes. The lights truly shone in Trinidad that evening! - Grand finale came in the form of 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' sequence which involved 'naach gaana' from all the stars including Vishal and Shekhar. Between them, they captured all ends of the stage and started jumping around throughout its length and breadth to cover as much audience amongst themselves as possible. From here, 'The Unforgettable Tour' moves to LA. Since the show is scheduled for 26th July, it gives a 3 days break for everyone to chill out!Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Jul 2008 | 11:17 am Tapan Sinha to get Phalke award - NDTV.com

He has been shooting non-stop in LA for Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakth Ishq. He shot with Sylvester Stallone last week and then flew for a day on Friday to Toronto to be part of the Bachchans' first 'Unforgettable' concert. The concert on Friday night went off spectacularly. On Sunday he was back in LA shooting for Kambakth Ishq. Says a source, "Since it's a stuntman's role Akshay has been given to do some of the most complicated stunts of his career. And there's no question of using body doubles. Akshay has decided to do all the stunts himself. How can he play a body double and get a body double to do the action scenes? Akshay wouldn't allow it although the producer Sajid Nadiadwala thought some stunts were way too dangerous. Out there at Universal Studios, all Hollywood actors are insured against dangerous stunts." As though going black and blue with the breathtaking stunts wasn't enough, Akshay was also moonlighting in LA doing dance rehearsals for the Bachchan's 'Unforgettable' tour. Speaking from LA, Akshay said, "I joined the Bachchans for the first of their 'Unforgettable' concerts on Friday night (July 18) in Toronto. With the shooting and the rehearsals, I didn't know whether I was coming or going." This is the only concert in the Bachchans' 'Unforgettable' tour that Akshay participated in. "There's no time for me to cram in any more activity," says Akshay who's currently stationed in LA with his wife and son, "far away from the maddening gossip and idle talk in Mumbai. I'm not bothered with what they're saying about me at home. And I'm happy that way." More happiness spilled out when Akshay shot with Sylvester Stallone. Says a source very close to Akhay,"He had no time at all for the concert. But he's doing this for the love of the Bachchans. Akshay really respects the Bachchans. And Abhishek is one of his favourite co-stars. When Abhishek was still struggling, Akshay has predicted he'd be a star. Akshay really believed in Abhishek. When he was offered the concerts with the Bachchans, he accepted one performance as a token gesture and that too in Toronto which is like a second home to Akshay." Adds Akshay, "Amitji is the most respected actor in our country. I'd do anything he asks me to. Anyway as we know the audience is pretty much divided with the movie, while some have suggested that the special effects and the efforts of the newcomer Harman Baweja are almost marvellous, others have resorted to saying that there are more special effects than substance in the movie. But if truth be told then does Kareena have any right to be so smug? As far as I and I'm sure many others remember Tashan was a complete dud at the box office and in my opinion was even worse. The trio is back, but this time on the small screen. Yes, Govinda and David Dhawan will be seen as celebrity guests on Sallu bhai's popular game show 10 Ka Dum this week. The special episode promises to be a fun-filled experience as Salman and Govinda got together to rag David Dhawan about his films, his weight and his pot belly. They even took the credit for all of his hit films. But David was not one to let go so easily; he too remarked in his trademark witty style, "I have to deal with one hero who is known for his late-coming and the other who turns up at the studio but refuses to make an appearance on the sets." Needless to say both Govinda and Salman took no offence to David's comments. Later, Govinda even made an interesting comment about the big-hearted Salman when he said, "Salman comes on time only on one occasion - when someone is in distress!" We are sure no one would know that better than Govinda. After all, when Chi Chi's career was in doldrums, it was Salman who was instrumental in bringing him back with Partner and the rest as they say is history!!! The camaraderie between Sallu, Chi Chi and David had to be seen to be believed and needless to say the studio audience couldn't have asked for a better treat. As for all of you who couldn't quite be witness to all the fun and action live, you can catch this special episode this Friday (25th July at 21:00 hrs IST) only on Sony Entertainment Television.Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 21 Jul 2008 | 5:00 pm Bhatts making Indian version of 'The Omen'Filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt says that his next film 'Raaz - The Mystery Continues' is not a sequel to 2005 hit starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea but is inspired by Hollywood suspense-horror 'The Omen'.Source: IndiaeNews.com: Bollywood News | 21 Jul 2008 | 4:30 pm John and Nagesh hold a special screening of Aashayein for their parentsDownload Aashayein wallpapers One film that is really close to actor John Abraham's heart is Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayein. Both John and director Nagesh Kukunoor have always said that they want to dedicate this special film to their parents and their teachings of Hope. Hence, it came as no surprise when the duo organized a special screening of Aashayein for their parents recently at a preview theatre in Hyderabad. For John Abraham, it was indeed an emotional moment as his parents always stay away from filmdom and this was the first time that they asked him to show them the film. What's more, the day the screening was held, it was Nagesh's parents' wedding anniversary and so impressed were Mama and Papa Kukunoor with the film that they were heard saying that it was best gift they could have got. As for John, he too seemed all excited at the screening, "Aashayein is not just any film for me. It is special in more than one way. When I was shooting for the film, I was going through the worst phase of my life. It has been a journey for me and is the most challenging role of my career so far", said the hunk All in all, an enjoyable evening was had by one and all.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 21 Jul 2008 | 4:11 pm STAR Plus to air reality show on couples from Aug 1General entertainment channel STAR Plus will air from August 1 a reality show on couples 'Aajaa Mahi Vay' where 11 real life unmarried couples will battle it out week-on-week in pursuit of their dream wedding as a grand prize.Source: IndiaeNews.com: Bollywood News | 21 Jul 2008 | 4:01 pm Guess Who this Bollywood actress is!Ever wondered what is the difference between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bollywood Hungama?
