The film will be directed by noted actor-director Amol Palekar. Although the actress says that it's not a very meaty part, the thrill of working in a Marathi film for the first time made her give the green signal. For Sharmila, the first challenge would be in getting the language right since Marathi is not her mother-tongue. However, the actress is ready to learn the language for her character in the film. In fact, considering her director Amol Palekar himself is a Maharashtrian, learning Marathi won't be such a tough task after all.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Jul 2008 | 2:53 pm Vidya talks about Shahid and Kismat Konnection - Zee News

As per reliable sources, the film is being titled Con Flick. Now that's quite an interesting title for the film since it features Govinda as a conman. Confirms the source attached to the film's crew, "Though a formal announcement would be made shortly, Tigmanshu has more or less closed on Con Flick as the film's title. It is a fun film and since the lead protagonist is a conman here, it made sense to have the kind of a name which justifies the essence of the subject." Tigmanshu Dhulia, who has earlier directed films like Haasil and Charas (both starring Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead), has another ace up his sleeves in the form of Rimi Sen who would be playing an obese woman weighing as much as 160 kilos. She plays Govinda's love interest and the film promises to showcase some amazing chemistry between a young obese girl and a not-so-young man. Also starring Vidya Malavade and Kabir Bedi in principal roles, Con Flick is quite a departure for Dhulia who in the past has been labeled as a filmmaker with a knack for making hard hitting films, courtesy Haasil and Charas. This time around, he takes a comic route by roping in Govinda, the uncrowned king of comedy and Rimi Sen, who has 'seriously' made a great impression with comic portrayal of a gold digger in recently released De Taali. It should be quite en eventful journey for Tigmanshu Dhulia from this point because while he heads for the shoot of Con Flick, he already has wrapped up the principal shoot of Shagird which stars Nana Patekar, Anurag Kashyap and Mohit Ahlawat in lead along with Rimi Sen (again)! Some of the other films to be directed by Dhulia which were announced in the months gone by but are yet to see some progress are Fame (Sunil Shetty, Govinda, Kay Kay Menon, Anjori Alag), Ghayal 2 (Sunny Deol, Om Puri) and Ghulami (Sunny Deol, Sameera Reddy). However, one hopes that after being in the wait for years, Dhulia does manage to mark a comeback with Con Flick and Shagird.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Jul 2008 | 12:48 pm "It was great dressing up Imran and Genelia" - Ashley RebelloAshley Rebello is not an unknown name in the film industry or fashion circles. In the circuit for 15 years and having worked with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Mallika Sherawat, Sushmita Sen, Karisma Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Sonali Bendre amongst others, Ashley is now busy collecting bouquets for his work in Jaane Tu⦠Ya Jaane Na that is creating a fashion storm. The apparels have been loved by one and all with the school and college going crowd lapping up his designs. Ashley admits that it was fun dressing up the youngsters for Abbas Tyrewala directed Jaane Tu⦠Ya Jaane Na. Recollecting the times when he started working on the designs, Ashley reveals, "It was great dressing up Imran, Genelia and other members of the film's cast. The idea was to play it simple without going overboard. The challenge was to not have anything overtly plain to being flashy. A lot went into designing Imran's look but a sweetheart that he is, he was a complete sport to whatever I gave him to wear. He never came with an impression that he is working in his uncle's film so he could behave as a star. He surrendered himself completely." How about Genelia? "For her I had to design two contrasting looks", says Ashley, "As you would have certainly noticed, when she is hanging out with her friends, she is casual with a layered clothing. She wears young tops, capris, slacks, the stuff that a college-goer is made of. However, when she is out in a formal gathering (remember the scene where she goes out with her finance for the first time), she wears long gowns with an entirely different hairdo and makeup. I had to try something new, different yet girlish. The transition that comes in her also had to be demonstrated gradually through her clothes." Ashley goes on to add that when it came to Nirav Mehta and Karan Makhija (the guys who play Gujju and Rotlu), he had a blast. He could go casual as well as slightly flashy. Basically, it had to go as per the mood that the characters found themselves in. On the other hand, for Alishka Varde (Boms), he made sure that in line with her lovey-dovey persona, she carried the color pink with her throughout. Any regrets? "Well, Renuka Kunzru - the girl who plays Mala (Gujju's girlfriend) - has a constant complain that the jeans I designed for her could never be seen by the audience", smiles Ashley, "Even though she appears in quite a few scenes at the airport throughout the film, only her black top is seen. Most of her shots have been in close-ups due to which only upper half of the body is visible. Maybe if I work with her again, I will insist with the director that he captures her in frames that project her entire attire!"Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 16 Jul 2008 | 12:48 pm Ginger Spice to establish her base in the USDelhi (ANI): Ex-spice girl Geri Halliwell has decided to establish her base in the US as her dancer boyfriend Ivan Flipz Velez has made it crystal clear to her that she better move to Los Angeles to be with him or bid him goodbye.Source: Oneindia - Entertainment | 16 Jul 2008 | 12:42 pm Mirren is 50+ female Brit lesbians most want to date !Dame Helen Mirren has topped a list of celebs past the age of 50 that Britain`s single lesbians would love to take out on a date.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 16 Jul 2008 | 12:41 pm Sylvester desperate for Arnie to join him in Bollywood flick !Legendry actor Sylvester Stallone is trying his best to convince his long time buddy Arnold Schwarzenegger to appear alongside him in a Bollywood flick.Source: Zee News : Entertainment | 16 Jul 2008 | 12:41 pm Asin to play a musician in Vipul Shah`s `London Dreams`!The latest Bollywood sensation and Vogue cover girl Asin is being showered with movie offers. Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 16 Jul 2008 | 10:56 am Mallika's 'Talli' song raises Hackles, Eyebrows and what-notClick above for more stills She's done it again. After raising helm-lines in conservative Chennai for the music launch of Kamal Haasan's film, Mallika Sherawat is again busy raising eyebrows, this time for a song that, hic hic, celebrates the spirit ofâ¦.well, of the spirits! The bottled kind. The promos of Pritish Nandy Communications' Ugly Aur Pagli show a high-as-a-kite Mallika Sherawat singing 'Main Talli Main Talli Ho Gayi', meaning 'I am drunk' ⦠And the moral army is already on the job. Reportedly, the songs intoxicating content and that too showing a young free-spirited girl in a state of uncontrollable inebriation (a sort of 'Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai' on speed dial) is being questioned in the highest quarters. This isn't the first sozzled sizzler to hit the screen. In fact, the country's Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar sang such melodious memorabilia as 'Kaise Rahun Chup' (Inteqaam), 'Jaane Kya Pilaya Tune' (Jugnu) and 'Han Ji Han Main Sharaab Pee Hai' (Seeta Aur Geeta) decades ago. In fact, as early as the 1960s, we had the immortal Meena Kumari stumbling drunk all over the place and singing 'Sharabi Sharabi Mera Naam Ho Gaya' in the film Chandan Ka Palna. Back then ladies were allowed to have more fun. Today the moral police is already on PNC's trail for promoting alcoholism in the 'Talli' song. Ever the iconoclast Pritish Nandy shrugs his shoulder. "Let them say what they like. Firstly, 'Talli' is a zany fun song. Yes, Mallika Sherawat is saying she's high in the song. But she could be high on life. Or she could be high on Cokeâ¦I mean the soft drink," he chuckles. Then he stops short to get sober. "Very honestly, we need to stop wagging our fingers at other people. Why can't a woman lose control in a pub and freak out? Is that the prerogative of men only? I neither drink nor smoke. But I see nothing wrong with people who do. As long as you don't drive when you drink, what's wrong with having a few drinks and creating some masti?" Pritish Nandy says he is in principle opposed to any kind of moral censorship. "Don't smoke don't drink. Don't do 'it' behind the bushes. Bah! Let people do what they like even if they seem to create a nuisance, so what? We all have the right to do what we like. And the 'Talli' song is about having fun." Problem is, anything Mallika does from wearing a short dress to getting drunk on screen, creates news. And it looks the 'Talli' song is all set to give Mallika's moral police a rumâ¦sorry, run for their money.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Jul 2008 | 10:26 am Lara Dutta not to accompany the Bachchans on ‘Unforgettable Tour’ - Zee News

Source: Google News India - Entertainment | 16 Jul 2008 | 9:51 am Wishing Katrina Kaif, a very Happy Birthday! There's a famous story of a beautiful girl, looking at whom, every young man said Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. Every young man was immensely in love with her and had never failed to wish her Hello as he wanted to Welcome her as his Partner. But the true Blue girl that she is, she listened to her Apne and went with a Yuvraaj, despite the fact that she could have easily whisked others in the Race and said Namastey London. Till today, millions of her lovers keep saying Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, but can't stop loving her. They say that clues are the weapon of the smart. Well, if you are smart, then, we are sure that these clues should be enough to know as to whom we are talking about. If not, then, let us do the honours of telling you that we are talking about the 'Heavenly Diva' Katrina Kaif, an angel, who seems to have lost her way back to paradise. But she need not despair as it's her Birthday today and we are sure that not just Bollywood, but also the whole of Bollywood Hungama readers will put their hands together and show Katrina how much we care and love you, by simply posting your wishes below.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Jul 2008 | 9:46 am In her Silver Jubilee year, Katrina moves onDownload Katrina Kaif wallpaper Katrina Kaif turns a year older today and opens another chapter in her blooming career that has witnessed as many as five consecutive box office successes in a row. Namastey London, Partner, Apne, Welcome and Race have all been hits that have made Katrina Kaif, a serious contender for sitting pretty much in the top ledge of Bollywood actresses. Says a prominent filmmaker who himself comes with a record of delivering consecutive multi-crore box office blockbusters, "Katrina Kaif is truly on a dream run and it would be foolhardy to judge her fortunes by calling her as a lucky heroine. The fact is that she has carefully planned her career while her selection of films has been impeccable." He goes on to add, "Even before her Big 5 films came, her Humko Deewana Kar Gaye didn't really lose any money. Also, one can't forget that though she didn't have a lengthy role in Sarkar, the film was a hit. One can't take away this credit from her. With her recent films giving her quite a lot of visibility, both from acting and song-n-dance routine perspective, Katrina is commanding a very good standing for herself." As per trade insiders, Katrina is considered amongst the select few who commands a price and gets it as well. Professionalism is another virtue which goes in her favor which has made Katrina Kaif a darling amongst the filmmakers as well. A few even believe that if Akshay Kumar is fast aiming for the 'King' tag, even Katrina could soon qualify as a 'Queen', courtesy her great track record with the man who himself is riding high on more than half-a-dozen back-to-back successes (barring Tashan). Her Singh Is Kinng and Yuvraaj are hot in the trade circles as well which brings her closer to making it seven-in-a-row. On her films which are currently on floor, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani is looking hot too, considering her first time pairing with Ranbir Kapoor. With Raj Kumar Santoshi at the helm of affairs, the film which also stars Upen Patel, is currently being shot in Ooty. The film is special because for the first time, Katrina is working with someone who belongs to her own age group. Says a source attached to the film's crew, "Chemistry between Katrina and Ranbir is pretty palpable; quite obviously since both of them belong to the same age group. In the past Katrina has worked with the likes of Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Abhishek Bachchan - all of whom have been elder to her by a decent margin. However, with Ranbir, it's a different kind of a comfort feel altogether since the two youngsters are clearly having fun."Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 16 Jul 2008 | 9:13 am Lakhia moves on to comedy with 'Generation X'After two back-to-back action films, 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' and 'Mission Istanbul', director Apoorva Lakhia's next project 'Generation X' combines the thrills with some comedy too.Source: IndiaeNews.com: Bollywood News | 16 Jul 2008 | 8:30 am Bipasha dons the Bengali avatar - Oneindia

Mallika Sherawat is in the eye of a storm. Make it two. The actress, who stopped talking to the media almost two years ago, has been dragged into two controversies. The first pertains to the film FAUJ MEIN MAUJ. Sometime back, there was talk that after shooting a major chunk of the film, the actress told the producer in very clear words that she would complete the film only if the director was changed. "Never! I never said that," Mallika breaks her silence, "All I said was that the script wasn't shaping up to everyone's satisfaction and it would be great if we re-worked on it. It's a great plot and everyone felt that it deserves a better screenplay. It's the producer's call, how can I dictate terms?" More recently, Studio 18 lodged a complaint against the actress in a producers' association [IMPPA] because the actress, after signing the film, had problems with Kundan Shah, the director, on certain issues. "False! I am ready to work with Kundan-ji even today. He's someone I truly admire. JAANE BHI DO YAARO is a cult film, one of my favourites. But it was clearly decided that things would be mutually discussed at the very outset. If the problems are sorted out, I'd love to work with Kundan-ji. Why not?" she sets the record straight.Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 16 Jul 2008 | 6:35 am Goa is where Bollywood loves to holidayGoa is definitely the favourite holiday spot for most Bollywood celebrities. I'm obsessed by filmstars" - Karan JoharKoffee and 'K' is his obsession and his Name is Karan. Known for his kind of "bubble gum cinema" Karan expresses his thoughts on Bollywood and honestly reveals the "dishonest honesty" about the Film Fraternity, including himself in his blog 'My Name Is Karan'. Bollywood Hungama brings you some excerpts of his blog, www.mynameiskaran.com. Excerpts from his first blog are as follows: Dated: June 19, 2008 "So let me start by saying, I am star struck, and have always been. I love, adore, and am obsessed by film stars. I like to befriend them, I enjoy meeting them, I love having them in my inbox, and more importantly, I'm constantly trying to add to my collection. There, I said it. For many years, I had a desire to be popular. It's like I wanted to win every congeniality contest in the world. It made me artificial. I didn't quite like that about myself but I also didn't know how to get out of that zone. I used to gush about women in terrifying clothes. Appreciate god awful celluloid performances. Hug and kiss people I wanted to send to jail and even applaud films that should never have been released. I had become the Godzilla of fake." Karan's latest entry in the blog has been about some obvious traits of the Bollywood Fraternity. Surely, Karan hasn't missed out on anything. This is a view completely from an insider. So here are the excerpts of the latest entry: Dated: July 11, 2008 "I love the film fraternity. I love everything about it. Nowhere in the world will you find such a cocktail of complexes, complexities, contradictions, and of course, charisma. We are unique and our DNA must be preserved for posterity. Why deny generations ahead of our vanity and our insanity? Pardon the rhyme; it's with good reason. So what makes us so special? Well, read on. In Denial: We deny our relationships, affairs, infidelities, and enmities. We love denial. God forbid if we started admitting to things, the speculation would stop, and we just can't have that. We like to be in the news, and to make sure of that we employ publicists who plant stories under our surveillance that we later deny with an absolute straight face. It's called "The Art of Convenient Alzheimer's." The truth is we love the invasion and we feed off the trash. We deny this of course. Star Hatings: Favorite conversation piece at fraternity affairs: critic bashing. It's more fashionable than bling (Bappi's back!) From saying they are bought to calling them biased, we don't leave a single stone unturned. We take all the critics' comments personally and feel it's a vendetta against us. Maybe we actually made a bad film??? Oh god, how could I have just said that? We never make bad films, we make "misunderstood cinema", understood? All this can change because all it takes is a 4 star review (5 stars would be pushing it) and paragraphs of gush and we're back on track. The next step is to give full-page ads in leading newspapers highlighting the critic's comments in "inverted commas." Double standards?? Don't be silly; we think it's our birthright. Disease of Delusion: The fastest spreading disease within the fraternity is the disease of delusions. It can give any viral a run for its medicine. We are delusional about the box office figures of our films, our current star status, our lover's fidelity, and our physical appearances (though thanks to Photoshop, that gets taken care of)⦠And the Loser isâ¦: A very wise man once told me, (oh forget it, lets give credit where its due) Javed Akhtar once told me, "Take the awards seriously the year you get them." Year after year, we've been going on about the commercialization of our film awards. The rigged decisions, the lobbies and the camps, the jury villains and the vamps. Yet year after year, we land up in our shimmering saris, ill fitted gowns, and tacky tuxedos. The criterion for turning up is simple; either we're winning or performing. A combination of the two is ideal... So please allow us our quirks and shortcomings. We never claimed to be perfect; you put us on that pedestal. Chew on that while we go back to making movies, for what in the world is better than that." Saying all this, Karan seems to be using the blog to promote his own films and also the films he likes. Besides announcing his film, My Name Is Khan, he has also requested everyone to watch Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. Well, if you found 'Koffee With Karan' entertaining then his blog 'My Name is Karan' only promises to continue the trend... Way to go KJo!Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 15 Jul 2008 | 3:50 pm
