John Abraham to sing in front of a live audience

Download Aashayein wallpapers John Abraham is all excited about his forthcoming film- Aashayein directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. While the actor couldn't be present while unveiling the first look of the film (since he was busy shooting in Miami for Dostana), he surely would be seen at an event later in the evening today to promote the music of the film. However, John wouldn't just make his presence felt but would also get behind the mike and sing one of his songs from the film - 'Ab Hai Ujala'. John was initially nervous about this but now he will be making his singing debut and that too in front of a live audience. "Initially I was hesitant, but I liked the idea. I am not that great a singer but that's all right I guess. I will make a sincere effort," says the handsome hunk. What's more, John has even been practicing for the event very hard along with Aashayein's music director duo Salim-Sulaiman. Even music director Salim is all praise for John. "John has an ear for music and since the song is so inspirational, I'm sure people will appreciate him whether he hits the right note or not." The event scheduled to take place at the Bandra Fort Amphitheatre will also see the likes of Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal and Zubin perform on stage.

Mithun Chakraborty threatens Ekta Kapoor

Mithun Chakbraborty is far from defeated by his son's tame debut and his own non-starter Don Muthuswamy that opened this week. Everyone's favourite 'Disco Dancer' and 'Gun Master G-9' from the 1970s Mithun Chakraborty is back in action. This is one of the busiest phases in the 70s' superstar's career. And one of the roles he's doing requires him to threaten Ekta Kapoor! "That's right," laughs Mithun-da. “I've a seriously funny role in Ekta Kapoor's C Kkompany. I play this small-time don called Dattu Satellite who has a fascination for TV artistes. I even go and warn Ekta Kapoor against torturing her TV artistes. I'm having so much fun with varied characters. I enjoyed playing a funny gangster in Don Muthuswamy. Imagine a Bengali playing a South Indian don! I've played a South Indian before in Agneepath." It was a very emotional journey down memory lane for Mithun-da when he met up with his steadiest and most adored co-star Ranjita Kakur in Pune some time ago. Says the emotional actor, “I met Robby in Pune very recently. She lives there now. Together we visited the Pune Film Institute where my whole journey as an actor began. I went to touch and kiss the number on the room where I stayed. It was a very emotional journey." Mithun-da gets sentimental about all his co-stars. "I was friendly with all my co-stars. I've worked with all of them from Rekha to Shabana to Zeenat to Parveen. I even worked with Sharmila Tagoreji in a Bengali film directed by Uttam Kumar where she had a double role with me and Uttam-da." Filmmakers are today willing to write roles especially for Mithun-da. "I've just finished Phir Kabhi with Dimple Kapadia and Rati Agnihotri produced by Culture Company and UTV. It's a very different love story about a happily married man whose first love returns after his wife dies. His grand- daughter plays Cupid. My character keeps talking to his dead wife. I've done a lot of films with Dimple. She's a pal. And she's given a great performance." Mithun-da is partial about his co-stars. "Robby (Ranjeeta) and Padmini Kolhapure were my very favourite co-stars and buddies. Padmini drifted away after she got married. But Robby and I are still buddies. You'll be surprised to see we still fight like we used to." The pair featured in overa dozen films in the 1980s. Among them, Tarana and Surakshaa were big hits. Now the 50-plus pair is coming back together. "Ashu Trikha's Zindagi Tere Naam brings me and Ranjita Kaur together after many years. It was an extremely nostalgic experience for both of us. Interestingly, there's a flashback where two youngsters who look like us will play our parts." And Mithun-da's 'Gun-Master' days are not over. In his last release My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves he played newcomer Nikhil Dwivedi's guru. "I played a Catholic priest. But he was no ordinary priest. I didn't only preach. I also fought. In the end, I showed the protagonist my martial arts skill to fight injustice. It was a very interesting role. The director E. Niwas is a very good friend of mine. And the debutant Nikhil Dwivedi is unconventional, just like I was when I came in." As for Mimoh, "He'll fight his way to his destiny. No one can stop him."

Sarkar Raj's background score to be released separately

Download Sarkar Raj wallpapers For the first time in the history of Bollywood, a film will have its background score releasing separately. Yes, its Ram Gopal Varma's most awaited film Sarkar Raj whose background score will have separate release. Confirming the news with Bollywood Hungama RGV informs, "It was because of the tremendous popularity of 'Govinda Govinda' theme earlier in the prequel, Sarkar, which made us take this decision. Moreover, the decision is also the consequence of an inspiration from the Hollywood tradition of releasing the background scores separately." He goes on to add, "The idea of releasing out the background score before the release of the film itself is that audience after watching the film can relate the theme music with the dialogues of the film since every track is titled after all the important dialogues in the film. And at the end of the day, background theme is there to enhance the scene of the film." Revealing about his fondness for background score in the film, he excitedly says, "I have this special inclination towards background theme since childhood. I remember I would go to the cinema halls only to listen to background music with my eyes closed." Titled 'Power of Sound', the background score album will soon hit the stores and the film has its release slated on June 6.

Harman Baweja all set to make his first media appearance tonight

He is touted to be the 'Next Best Thing' happening to Bollywood, after Hrithik Roshan. Having Bollywood's 'Godfather to many' Harry Baweja as his real-life father, he couldn't have asked for more. But not the one to merely make it on the basis of his surname, he has slogged his way to come before the camera. We are indeed talking about Harman Baweja, the down-to-earth dude, who makes his debut in Love Story 2050, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, on the eve of the release of the film's futuristic music. The promos look really futuristic. What about the music? From our end, we have tried to make sure that the music lives up to the look and the feel of the film. The music of the film has got a range. It has got ballads and also it has got futuristic club songs. It has got interesting new sounds. From our end, we have put in an entire album. We have tried our level best to connect both the time zones. The look and the feel of the film look international. So, has the music too been composed keeping in mind the international audience? Simply put, since it's a Bollywood film, it is catering to Bollywood. I do agree that because of the effects in the film and its music, there is an international appeal to the album. But musically, we have kept it as Bollywood as it gets. How different is the music from the current lot of music albums that's available in the market today? I won't say that the music is really 'different' because it's my film. I would say that we have worked on different sounds. For example, the song that's on air these days (the one in which I am dancing with the robots). It's a real new sound. Its got more of a techno-meet-robot-meet-melody kinda' feel and appeal. It's basically a classical raag that we converted into a robotic techno feel and then incorporated in this song. What, according to you, is the USP of the album? The USP of the album is definitely the wide range of music that the album has got. As I told you earlier, it has got right from the futuristic club songs to my next song that will be on air soon, which happens to be a romantic theme number. Everything that is required of an album is there in this album, except your typical Punjabi Shaava Shaava and Kaawa Kaawa kind of thing, which we felt, was just not needed as the script didn't really demand it. The story of the film is interwoven with the songs and vice versa. Click above for more stills Which is your personal favorite soundtrack? And which track you feel will have the masses swooning to its beats? It's a song that will be aired anytime now. It's basically the theme of the film and it's called 'Meelon Ka Jaise Tha Faasla'. It's a song that spans across both the time zones. It's basically the soul of the film. I just can't pick up and single out one song that I feel will be a hit with the masses. For me, it's the entire album will be a smash hit. This is your first time that you will be facing the media. Are you nervous or excited? I am slightly nervous as this will be the first time that I will be coming in front of the media. I just hope that I can be myself and talk like myself! What's your take on the much-publicized Harman-Imraan clash? There is no take on it as I feel that there is nothing called as the Harman-Imraan clash as I feel it's all made up. For me, its just two films of two debutantes with two totally different themes that are releasing on the same day. I have worked hard on my film and frankly speaking, I just do not believe in the so-called 'clash'. One observes that the common factor that binds the then-debutante Hrithik's Kaho Naa Pyar Hai and the now-debuting Harman's Love Story 2050 is the fact that Kareena Kapoor walked out on both the films. Kaho Naa Pyar Hai turned out to be superhit, do you feel that the Kareena- walkout will rub the same superhit magic on Love Story 2050. As long as any magic that rubs off my film and my film becomes a superhit, I am OK with it…(laughs). Lastly, a certain section of media did write negative about you. What was you reaction about it? Rather how do you react to such negative news? Frankly speaking, I just do not react at all. Rather, I have stopped reacting to such news. It's all about creating a headline, I have understood that. As far as people around me and those who matter to me a lot know the real Harman, I need not clarify the things with anyone.

DVD Review: Bhram

MOVIE DETAILS Cast: Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Sheetal Menon, Simone Singh and Chetan Hansraj Director: Pawan Kaul Producer: Nari Hira Music: Siddharth-Suhas, Pritam Lyrics: Kumaar, Irshad Kamil THE FILM "I wonder how many blow jobs would she have given for this blow up" "I have heard that you excite man and then end up with K.L.P.D'" "Are you a cabbie or do use a car for shag$ing off" "Doesn't look like you worry about proteins with the number of BJs you give" "What the fu@#", "What's your fu@#ing problem", "Fu@# off", etc. etc. etc. You must be wondering if this is a review for a Hollywood film or these dialogues are from a film coming out of our good old Mumbai! Well, believe it or not but it is actually the latter. And no, there are no annoying beeps or camouflaged words used here to hide the real ones. Well, the Censors have become far more liberal, and how! Also, the words are as verbatim as mentioned above and have a lot more belonging to their clan for company in this Pawan Kaul film for which many are still wondering if it has actually released. A thriller, Bhram takes an excellent start. Even though one can sense the budget constraint due to its relatively restricted canvas, one doesn't really mind that since top notch photography (watch out for that current v/s flash back transition brought out so effectively frame after frame) makes you get hooked on to the screen. The film requires a close watch since every 30 seconds of the narrative count and any miss-up would result in a broken thread. You want to know what's the secret Dino is trying to unearth all the way in the hill stations of Kullu/Manali? Why is Sheetal Menon lying in a hospital? Is Milind Soman really what he looks and acts? What exactly is Simone Singh, who plays Soman's wife, role in the entire episode? Sequence after sequence throws in a lot of questions with Kaul not allowing any strings to meet. Keeping the viewer engaged between present and the past where behind-the-scenes from the fashion industry dominate the proceedings and the inner turmoil of Sheetal Menon is hinted upon, Kaul ensures that no one from the audience moves. However, after a solid interval point which makes a viewer anticipate a lot more twists and turns in the tale, the noir narration looses the punch in the last 15 minutes. Bhram in fact turns out to be one big 'bhram' since instead of yet another shock being thrown on you; the story culminates in an out and out convenient manner. There is hardly a mystery in the way the jigsaw puzzle comes together and in the times when the last moment twist is a must, something that Abbas-Mustan did with perfection in Race, one certainly misses the final blow! PACKAGING The film comes in a standard local plastic case. Since the DVD comes on Moser Baer, don't expect any fancy packaging. DURATION The film comes in a single DVD pack with the film's duration being 128 minutes. SPECIAL FEATURES The DVD doesn't come with any special features. TECHNICAL DETAILS - 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation - Subtitles in English - Dolby Digital 5.1 and Stereo PRICE Rs. 50/= CONCLUSION Yes, the film was released and knocked off from theaters in one week flat. A disaster at the box office, not because of the language but the horrific promotion and disastrous release strategy more than anything else, Bhram met with a miserable response. Not that it would have done excellently even if marketed well and given a respectable release but at the least the shock value (in the first half of the film) would have made a few sit up and take notice. In any case, if not the film, the Censors for sure deserve a 5 star rating here! Rating: **

Haal-e-Dil derives inspiration from Mahesh Bhatt's Aashiqui?

Upcoming films seem to be getting inspired by old Bollywood films it seems, surprisingly, not for the stories but the publicity designs. Leading the way is the cover of Haal-e-Dil, which seems to be a direct rip-off of the 90's smash-hit Aashiqui, which made stars of nobodys like Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. The cover showed a guy and a girl romancing under a jacket while the rest was left for the imagination of the viewers. Well, it seems like the history is repeating itself in Haal-e-Dil, a film that stars three debutantes Adhyayan Suman, Nakuul Mehta, and Amita Pathak. The filmmakers must be definitely hoping to have the Aashiqui magic rub on the lead stars and thus make the film a smash hit. Since Aashiqui was a love story between two lovers, a couple under the jacket was justifiable, while Haal-e-Dilis a triangular love story yet the poster shows a couple under a jacket! Shouldn't it have been the triangular pair under the jacket and leave the rest for the imagination of the viewers. Whatever be the case, let's hope Haal-e-Dil works wonders for its debutant actors like Aashiqui did.

"Hastey Hastey is 2 hrs 7 minutes of non stop entertainment" - Shivaram Kumar

Very few people have managed the unique feat of producing, acting and singing in their first film. Shivaram Kumar is one of them. Kumar's first film as a producer, Hastey Hastey, starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Rajpal Yadav along with two debutant actresses is set to release this Friday and this New Jersey based businessman is all excited about his first step in Bollywood. Bollywood Hungama got in touch with the man who indeed believes in the tagline of his film- 'Follow your Heart'. Here's presenting Shivaram Kumar as he talks about his film Hastey Hastey. Your first film as a producer Hastey Hastey is all set for release this week. How does it feel? My partner Ashutosh Bajpay and I are excited about this dream come true. There is a lot of excitement in India and abroad about this film. The Music CDs are sold out worldwide and wholesalers and retailers are scrambling to get more CDs. Advance booking has started, theaters are receiving phone calls. INOX is releasing the movie, and in the USA, GO CAM FILMS is partnering with INOX for the release. There are butterflies in my tummy, but they are flying in formation! From being a top notch computer consultant in the US to a successful entrepreneur to a Bollywood film producer? What made you take the plunge into film production? We call it the 'Khujli'. I took the plunge now, but the 'Khujli' has always been there- to produce, sing, do a little acting, since the time I was a child. In college (REC Trichy) I spent more time on stage singing and acting than off stage, studying! Two years ago, in the USA, I was part of the team that won Anu Kapoor's NRI Antakshari show in New Jersey. I was waiting for the right time. Ashutosh is my link to Bollywood. His last production was Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gaya (Jackie Shroff and Kajol). Also it should be noted that I have a successful network marketing business (Amway) which by its nature encourages people to pursue their dreams by working hard- essentially to follow their hearts. In college, I spent more time on stage singing and acting than off stage, studying! Coming to Hastey Hastey, the film seems like a comic love story….Is it true? If you look at the tagline, it says 'follow your heart'. So the theme is that one should follow their heart, with a smile on their face. Which automatically suggests that this is not a slapstick comedy (a smile has more significance during 'down' time). While you follow your heart, there will be ups and downs. You face them with a smile. So the movie has comedy, emotions, and elements of deceit, adventure and romance. The theme of the film is that one should follow one's heart, with a smile on their face. The film has Jimmy Shergill as the main lead. Jimmy's last few films haven't really worked at the box-office? Does it bother you? The nature of the industry is such. Everyone will have ups and downs. Also, as we have seen recently, big stars do not necessarily equate huge success at the box office. Jimmy suited the role, and he has a fresh look- he is playing a light hearted role after a long time. His synergy with Rajpal Yadav in Hastey Hastey is incredible. The chemistry of the whole team is just awesome. Everyone who has seen the trial shows have nothing but great things to say about Jimmy and the others. Jimmy's synergy with Rajpal Yadav in Hastey Hastey is incredible. The film has two new actresses making their debut- Nisha Rawal and Monishka…Could you tell us a little bit on how you zeroed in on them? Toony, our director, Ashutosh Bajpay and I were involved in the selection process. We interviewed a lot of girls for these two roles. Finally, we saw a series of videos (ad films and music videos) by Nisha and were immediately impressed. Toony brought Monishka in through the same process. We believe that the audience is going to love them both. One of the highlights of the film is the triple role done by Rajpal Yadav. Could you throw some light on that? Rajpal Yadav is a pleasure to work with. We broke the stereotype of Rajpal in this film. The youngest Rajpal is a 'Casanova' type personality, and a 'Jigri dost' of Jimmy's character. The next Rajpal is the first one's uncle, hot headed and a little crazy. The last one plays young Rajpal's father (uncle's brother). Rajpal is hilarious, and we even have a very interesting element of how the internet can create some funny situations. The film's music has been composed by Anu Malik. How do you think the music has evolved? The title song made it to the 'Top 10' in the B4U countdown last week. Many other songs have made it to the top charts. The music CDs are in great demand. T-Series is doing a good job of replenishing stock, but stores worldwide are still in a sold out situation. My favorites are 'Bheegi Bheegi' by Kunal Ganjawala and 'Almadat' by Zubin. My father passed away soon after the shooting finished, but I remember the time last year when I gave him the 'Kachcha' CD after the recording. He held it close to his chest and told me that the music will be a success. And it is. You are one of the few producers who is also acting and has even sung the title song in his very first film. Tell us something about that? How was the experience and what character do you play? Singing and acting have always been a passion. As mentioned earlier in college I spent more time on stage singing and acting than off stage, studying. In the USA I have a team that has performed many times in the past, called 'Many Moods'. When Tony and I met Anu Malik, I told him that he must audition me, and if he felt I wasn't ready to do playback singing, I was not going to sing. Anuji decided that the title song 'Hastey Hastey Follow Your Heart' would be appropriate, and I enjoyed singing the song with Sunidhi Chauhan. This is my first time, and I always feel I could have done better, but I think the song is doing well. I personally enjoyed singing, and I really felt it in my heart while singing the slow version. We all had an emotional moment in the studio (Anuji, Toony, my mother and I). In the movie, I play myself. In real life, my wife and I own a successful network marketing business (Amway). I also do corporate training in emerging markets. We help people build their self esteem and teach them success habits (BWW). I mentor many Independent Business Owners worldwide, and speak to large audiences (up to 25,000 people) on a regular basis. So this was an easy role for me to play. Neel's character (Jimmy) is inspired by Kumar to venture into unfamiliar territory, and derives courage from Kumar's words to get through the tough times. So do you intend to pursue singing or continue acting actively after this? I am reminded of the line from Godfather (I think): “Make me an offer I cannot refuse” (laughs). Actually; we'll just see how it goes! How has been the experience working with director Toony? Toony went the extra mile for us. He went above and beyond his role as a director. What one needs is a reliable director. Along with my father in law Mahinder Khanna, and Uncle Ramesh Jhamb, Toony helps run our office in Mumbai. Toony also brought in a great team of technicians and creative heads- like Damodar Naidu who has done brilliant camera work, Pony Verma who is the choreographer, Subarna for the costumes, Sanjay Sankhla for editing, and Anoop Mishra, sound engineer. He also brought in the writers like Rohit Batra, Bholu Khan, Gabbu & Ritesh. Tony prepares well, and executes briskly- very few re-takes. The locations of the film are indeed breathtaking. How much of the film is shot in US? 95% of the movie is shot in the USA. The script demanded it. Yes, the look and feel of the film is nothing less than breathtaking, thanks to Toony, Damodar Naidu and our entire crew. It is becoming evident that Bollywood has not seen America shot in this splendor. Many people who have seen the film have said that they have not seen New York this wonderfully picturized even in Hollywood films. We left no stone unturned. Many people who have seen the film have said that they have not seen New York this wonderfully picturized even in Hollywood films. Any memorable experiences during the shoot? We finished our USA shooting in 45 days and then we had a couple of days left in India. By all standards, we were better than average in execution, but we had some situations that seem funny now, but weren't that funny at that time. We lost a video camera that was being used for the making of the film- someone dropped it on the mountains of Minnewaska State park while shooting 'Bheegi Bheegi'. In Atlantic City, some dancers did not show up, so we had people contacting local 'clubs' for dancers. We realized that not all 'clubs' in Atlantic City are the kind of “clubs” we want to be seen in! The opening shot of 'Bheegi Bheegi' got delayed because of rains, and Jimmy was drenched already for the shot. After the actors dried up, the sun came out and Tony decided to continue shooting, and everyone had to get wet all over again! Renting the open Double Decker bus in Manhattan for 'It's our World' song was a lot of fun. The elaborate preparations for 'Hum Hain' on a boat and 'New Age Mantra' at a posh Manhattan club were all great experiences. The film is being released along with the IPL matches. Considering the craze for cricket in India…aren't you wary of the opening getting affected? Theaters are already seeing big requests for advance booking of the tickets. Also IPL is winding down as we release. The quality of the movie speaks for itself. God is great! Lastly, Hastey Hastey is your company Go Cam films' first production with Ashutosh Bajpay and yourself. What are your future projects? We have three projects in the offing. They are named Three Will Set You Free, Pakdo Pakdo and Road To Vegas. Before signing off why do you think viewers should go and watch Hastey Hastey. What is the USP of the film? Hastey Hastey is two hours 7 minutes of non stop entertainment. The story and screenplay will keep people on the edge of their seats. During our trial shows, we had a diverse audience, some of them were family and friends, most of them were not. Every single one of them commented that they could not even think of leaving their seats. The story is quick, with a rapid fire execution. Audience must go to the theaters and experience this film- in order to get the complete benefit of the visual treat and incredible music. The romance is enhanced by the music and the locations, the comedy is enhanced by elements of globalization, the twist in the story is enhanced by great direction and excellent editing, and the music by Anu Malik is enhanced by Sameer's lyrics, and Pony's choreography. The opinion of those who have seen the film or any part of the film is unanimous- great story, light hearted movie, high energy, very youthful, funny, superb music and USA shot like never before..
