âFor everything there is a season, like for everything there is a reason
For every break down there is a build up;
For every tear, there is a smile;
For every silence, there is a time to speak;
For every hate, there is a time for love
For every war, there is a time for peace
But for every Jhamu Sughand, there is â¦â¦â¦â¦
It is the fact of Bollywood that everything else can be replaced but not everyone. Jhamu Sughand happens to be one such man. It is indeed shocking to even think about it, but then, the fact remains that the inevitable has just happened. Bollywood's most prolific Producer Jhamu Sughandh, is no more. He embraced death in Juhu Hospital today at around 11.20am, due to brain haemorrhage.
Jhamu was responsible for producing films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Aks, Filhaal, Kaal Purush etc. His last project happens to be Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, which also happens to be Aamir Khan's magnum opus gift for his nephew Imraan Khan.
Bollywood Hungama's heartfelt wish for this man is that May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace. Source: Indiafm.com News | 26 May 2008 | 2:01 pm
Young Rehan Khan is still pinching himself hard to believe that he has actually managed to bag a project with none other than Nana Patekar.
Though he has been watching his moves quite carefully ever since he made a low profile debut with Jaane - Let's Fall In Love a year and a half back, he has been getting good feelers from the industry which believes that the young lad does show promise.
"Let me be very honest here", confesses Rehan, "Even though I come from a family that has lived and breathed Bollywood cinema for decades, it is still one big struggle out here. Yes, you do get feelers all the while but it all matters when something really comes on the table. Well, I guess my wait has paid off with Tum Milo To Sahi which features none other than Nana Patekar. For me this is one big project and I can't believe I would actually be acting with Nana."
Tum Milo To Sahi is soon coming to floors (in June beginning) and would be directed by Kabir Sadanand who first wielded the megaphone 4 years back for rom-com Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jaayo. Though this film, which marked the acting debut of Akshay Kapoor, didn't do much at the box office, it only managed to strengthen Kabir's resolve to strike back with greater vigor and confidence.
The result is Tum Milo To Sahi which brings on Nana Patekar as the central protagonist with one more established name expected to join the star cast apart from newcomer Rehan. There would be three leading ladies, the names of which are currently being kept under the wraps.
Says Nana Patekar, "It's the script which is the King here in case of Tum Milo To Sahi. You have to watch out for this story teller Kabir. The way he narrated the subject to me, I was on board pronto." Pausing for a while, he chuckles, "People think that I am a bully on and off the sets. Well, ask Kabir this after Tum Milo To Sahi; he should be able to tell whether it is a right perception or not."
On the other hand, Rehan can't help but admire Kabir for the big platform that he has got for himself.
"Kabir has been rock solid in his support for me. He hasn't allowed me to do anything else for the moment since he wants me to live this character to the fullest. No, I am not under a contract or something but it is Kabir's conviction in Tum Milo To Sahi which makes me sit back and actually concentrate primarily on what I have to do here", says Rehan with an air of confidence around him.
Does he ever get a shred of doubt regarding his placement in the film since Nana Patekar is bound to hold the center stage while another senior actor would hog some limelight as well?
"None at all", says Rehan promptly, "I stand by every decision of Kabir since I too firmly believe that this film is bigger than anything else. Kabir is the leader out here and I along with all the others are bound to trust him blindly in his judgment."
Tell Kabir about the hero worship that he is enjoying for his new venture and he says modestly, "Actually, I should be the one who should be humbled here. I am working with such great range of actors out here! I am proud of the fact that I have managed to bring together so much talent which is committed to the script. I am longing to get back behind the camera and call 'action'!"
When questioned about the film's subject, this is all what Kabir was willing to divulge, "Tum Milo To Sahi is about the extraordinary person in the ordinary people we are. It's the people we were, the people we are and the people we will be. It is about the values that mean the world to us."
Tum Milo To Sahi is being produced by Nikhil Panchammiya whose last production was a moderate success Anthony Kaun Hai. On the actor's front, while Nana Patekar is looking forward to the release of Horn Ok Pleassss (after the super success of Welcome),
Rehan Khan too has a double bill lined up in the form of Click and Fast Forward. "Both Click and Fast Forward should be out anytime now", says Rehan, "While Click belongs to horror genre, Fast Forward has dance as its theme. Yes, both are multi starrers (Click also stars Shreyas Talpade in the lead while Fast Forward has Akshay Kapoor looking at making a comeback) but that's absolutely fine with me."
"As long as I have belief in myself to be able to deliver goods, there is no reason why insecurity should creep in. So early in my career I have got an opportunity to play distinct characters in both the films. Well, guess what? This is what that matters most to me", concludes Rehan. Aamir Khan is determined to make a success out of his nephew Imraan's career, come what may. And even if that means taking on the competition headlong, so be it. Anything for family, seems to be the marketing motto, as Harry Baweja puts in 80-crore plus Priyanka in the hi-fi sci-fi Love Story 2050 to ensure his son's super success on July 4.
Enter Aamir Khan with nephew Imraan's Jaane Tu⦠Ya Jaane Na and on same Friday as Harman's debut. "The Bawejas were shocked," says a source close to the film. "They had planned and strategized their film's release almost six months in advance. They had spoken to all their potential competitors from Salman and God Tussi Great Ho to Ram Gopal Varma and Sarkar Raj to Apoorva Lakhia 's Mission Istanbul and Aziz Mirza's Kismat Konnection to Yashraj and Tips. Harman called them up personally to make sure his film comes on a freed Friday. Then suddenly Aamir showed up to create an almost Saawariya-Om Shanti Om crisis. Jaane Tu's release was nowhere in sight when Love Story 2050 was announced. Suddenly they came out of the blue! "
Harry Baweja made a panic call to Aamir. Says the source, "Harry Baweja knows Aamir from the time he did B. Subhash's Love Love Love where Harry was an assistant director. Ever since then they've been in touch. When they spoke, Aamir told Harry he was indeed thinking of coming on 4 July. The reason given was that Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap in which Imraan has a key role was coming on July 25. Aamir reasoned that Imraan couldn't have two releases too close to one another. Later, the Bawejas were horrified to know that Kidnap was scheduled for August 22. Harry urged Aamir to move his film to July 11. But Aamir is adamant. "
Incidentally, Genelia Dsouza who plays Imraan's leading lady is also Harman's girl in his second release Victory. "The Bawejas first trailer started on a Sunday. That same day a blog went up saying 'Imraan Versus Harman'. That's when the Bawejas first came to know that the Khans were planning to release on the same day. Since then there has been a systematic campaign to bring down Harman on the blogs with comments like 'Harman looks gay'. He looks like a lot of things. But not gay. One of the blogs comments cattily on actors like Hrithik Roshan and Harman Baweja relying on their physique. Someone even broke into a website (wikipedia.com) sponsoring Harman's film and defaced it. They even changed Harman's picture to an unidentifiable man, and said the film was budgeted at 60,000 rupees and was to be released for 30 seconds in July 1950. The Bawejas traced the defacers to Delhi. The identity of the hackers was used just once, to deface Harman's face."
Harman smiles off all the competition. "Healthy competition is always welcome. I'd rather focus on my work. We've just started the promotion of our first song. It's one of the costliest songs ever filmed." Source: Indiafm.com News | 26 May 2008 | 9:32 am

Jannat
There is no stopping Pritam as 'Jannat' continues to announce it's supremacy. The music has shown an exponential escalation after the release of the film (which in itself is doing great business). One wonders whether Bhatts would think of anyone other than Pritam and/or Emraan Hashmi for any new project of theirs from this point on!
Best song of the album, 'Door Na Jaa', doesn't find a place in the film's narrative

Race
Even though the wait for film's DVD is still on, 'Race' has it's moments in the charts as the music continues to do exceedingly well. Now one waits to see 'Mujhpe To Jadoo' being revived in some way since it didn't find a place in the film due to 'Sexy Lady' replacing it.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa
Perhaps for the first time ever in this decade at least, A.R. Rahman has as many as 3 albums of his finding themselves in the Top-10 music charts. While 'Jodhaa Akbar' has been there for 100 days, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa' promises to go even further due to some brilliant songs. This is THE album which is going to be a serious contender for the place at the top.
None. This one is designed for urban youth and works perfectly well for the target audience.

Khuda Kay Liye
The film is a success, it's music has been a bigger success and now it's DVDs have arrived on the stands too! 'Khuda Kay Liye' is an album which would stay on to do consistent business for a long time since it comes with a timeless feel and doesn't get restricted by the film's theme or an era.

Tashan
'Tashan' is doing a constant flip-flop by being in and out of the Top-3. This week it finds itself on the brink of Top-5 and one suspects it would ever be able to up from this point on. The film has more or less ended it's run too.
It's a pity that the soundtrack too would see a way downwards with not many really knowing that they missed out on some cutting edge score.

Ada
This is what the name A.R. Rahman spells for! Even though this small time film comes with an unknown banner and new star cast, the music has started registering good sales just on the basis of maestro's name on the credits and some excellent word of mouth spreading through the world of blogs and forums. 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa' may still hold the edge but 'Ada' too is showing good competition.
'Ada' is a mix bag with half the songs being quite good while the remaining half being average. Nothing is below the mark though.

Jodhaa Akbar
Third Rahman album in the charts, 'Jodhaa Akbar' finds itself out of Top-5, courtesy his newer albums making their presence felt. What is commendable though is that older albums like these are still fighting off all the challenge (or the lack of it) which is coming their way from the likes of 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap', 'De Taali', 'Woodstock Villa' and the rest!

Taare Zameen Par
Shankar Ehsaan Loy have seen an extended successful run of 'Taare Zameen Par'. However, now they would be sincerely hoping that their newest soundtrack, 'Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic', shows some magic at the music stands. The music of this latest Yash Raj film has hit the stands and it has to be seen if it manages to make a mark at the stands.

U Me Aur Hum
At the bottom of the charts, 'u Me Aur Hum' is now at it's last leg. One expects a lot from music of upcoming films like 'Love Story 2050' and 'Haal E Dil' and if any of these do manage to create an impression, it may be good bye time for 'U Me Aur Hum'.
In it's entire tenure in the charts, 'U Me Aur Hum' could never scale the high that it deserved
