Shah Rukh Khan has roped in buddy Rani Mukherjee and Bipasha Basu to participate in his IPL video. But Preity Zinta who's currently in London makes it clear she's in no competition with Shah Rukh Khan as far as a star line up in the IPL music video is concerned.
Completely cutting down rumours that Preity intends to get buddies Sunny, Bobby and their dad Dharmendra to do a music video, a source very close to Preity says, "The playing field when the matches start in April will be filled with star-cricketers. That takes care of the glam-element. As for the music video, we feel it should represent the earthy feel of Punjab and Chandigarh. Hence, the robust that Preity and Ness have recorded for their team, as opposed to the poetic lyrical mood of Kolkata and SRK's team. We feel we can't capture the flamboyant and vigorous flavour of if we bring in film stars into the video. Preity wants the video to be very Punjabi. That's why she got Daler Mehndi to sing their theme song."
Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Mallaya on the other hand seem to believe star-lineups to be the best way to attract big crowds to their cricket matches. Source: BollywoodHungama.com News | 22 Mar 2008 | 11:58 am
2007 saw Farah Khan assembling 31 stars for her Om Shanti Om. Now this festive season, as many as 32 stars/celebrities talk about their plans for Holi. Are they getting drenched? Are they savoring 'bhaang'? Are they busy shooting? Are they just hiding at home? Or are they just being plain naughty? Joginder Tuteja catches up with them to find more...
Emraan Hashmi - I would be at my naughty best as I would be throwing water balloons from the terrace.
Imtiaz Ali - It is going to be a wild North Indian style Holi with me. I would be with friends, traveling from place to place and dancing on streets. It's my favorite festival.
Sanjay Gupta - We would be celebrating as usual with a fabulous party at Woodstock. White Feather has a tradition of celebrating every year!
Upen Patel - Kumarji (Mangat) has called the entire team of One Two Three and throwing a bash. I haven't played as such and don't have any inclination either. This would be my first close encounter with the festival. I don't think I would be getting drenched or something. Later in the day, I go the sets for shooting the promotional number for Money Hai To Honey Hai.
Riteish Deshmukh - I am busy shooting so no plans for me.
Geeta Basra - It would be some private celebration time with some of my very close friends. I would be going out of Mumbai. Would there be colors? Or course not! I have to save my skin and hair from turning messy. Alas, once you start acting, one has to leave such pleasures (of playing Holi) aside
Ranvir Shorey - I am busy shooting in Bangkok. I've been out of the country for more than a month and earning a living doing Chandni Chowk to China. So it's gonna be all work for me!
Sriram Raghavan - I don't think I am a celebrity yaar. Moreover, I don't play Holi. I am sure you will find much more interesting plans from much more interesting people.
Anubhav Sinha - Plan is simple - Wake up late. Hope no one lands up. Someone still will. Get drenched. Go out with son. Feast on sweets. Put on weight. Drop dead early. Howzzzat?
Neha Dhupia - I don't know yet. Might be I would travel back home in Delhi and have something rolling.
Suparn Verma- I am going to be playing with my Acid Factory team at the White Feather Holi party. It's going to be a blast and with such a huge gathering, it is as well going to be an industry Holi.
Tulip Joshi - I would be with friends at home and would be having good food. We would also be watching some films together.
Rehan Khan - My Holi celebrations would with my best friend Aman at his house. The plans are as usual; the way they have been for the last 15 years. No colors for me though rest everything would surely happen. We have a very private bash with all our friends. Chak de phatte!
Priyanka Kothari - I will celebrate Holi with my family.
Anees Bazmee - I have just returned from Singh Is Kinng shoot and committed to get started with Harman Baweja film. I would be writing the script for it in a place outside Mumbai. I would be all alone this weekend and hence there won't be any Holi.
Jimmy Sheirgill - I don't play Holi yaar. I just haven't indulged myself for long.
Mugdha Godse - No plans for me as I will be working. I used to enjoy Holi when I was small. However, it pains me to see that today people have made a joke out of this festival by attacking anyone on the roads without even knowing them. I get so scared when Holi date comes closer. It's no safer. A private party is good but outside people go nuts.
Neetu Chandra - I am going to be playing with my family for sure. After long we are together. I am quite excited about it. We will have bhang too.
Sophie Choudry - My dear friend Parvin Dabbas is getting married so it will be a double celebration this Holi. I plan to hide at home in the daytime and save all the masti and naach gaana for the eve! After all I dont want to show up for his wedding with green hair!!
Arshad Warsi - I am shooting in Thailand for Shortkut. So I guess no major Holi celebrations for me.
Bhairavi Goswami - I don't have any plans so far. Why? I guess old age is catching up with me (laughs).
Raksha Mistry - I have this song stuck in my head from Akshay Kumar's Waqt - 'Do me a favor, let's play Holi!' We are planning a DJ Holi with families in the building. We would have the fun rolling along with some Thandai!
Gul Panag - Nothing major planned for me. I would be sitting at home and watching DVDs.
Vivek Agnihotri - I am the best Holi host! We have a very big rain party with DJ, thandai & beer. Later, we would finally land up at Janaki Kutir, Kaifi Azmi's house, for a traditional Holi.
Onir - This Holi, I would be coming back from Mauritius where I was shooting for Sorry Bhai. As soon as I reach home, I would lock myself and hide all day.
Rohit Shetty - I am at home. If someone lands up then well, there could be some Holi happenings.
Anjana Sukhani - It has been 3 years since I last had a major Holi with my society members. I am not too keen on it because colors just mess up your skin and hair. See, if someone tries to apply color and all you can't say no; it would be rude. Hence, it is better that I avoid it completely.
Sujoy Ghosh - I would be sleeping through it. It would be some well deserving rest in the middle of 'Alladin' shoot.
Vikram Bhatt - I am shooting for 1920 so it would be a work laden Holi for me. Maybe we would have some token celebrations at the sets.
Sajid Khan - I have never been a Holi fan. I can see people taking disadvantage of festivities and indulge in hooliganism. I have typically stayed home and watched movies on Holi. This time around I may be shooting though for my television show.
Himesh Reshammiya - I will be working as I always prefer to be work on auspicious days. In any case I don't play Holi. However, I wish everyone a great Holi.
Madhur Bhandarkar - If someone drops in at my place, I would have some basic festivities going around. However, I won't be jumping on the streets, form a gang and paint the town red. No active plans for me! Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 Mar 2008 | 11:53 am

Niharika Singh is no stranger to fame. At the age of 21 she won the Ponds Femina Miss India Earth pageant. Four years later she has now been selected as Himesh Reshammiya's leading lady in John Matthew Mathan's A Love Iiisshtory (yup that's how it's spelt). Not only that, Himesh has also decided to cast Niharika in his next film Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke.
And it isn't just an ordinary you-sing-I-dance kind of routine debut for the model-turned-actress. Niharika plays a young prematurely -affluent millionaire with enough money to buy her own private jets in all her favourite colours. "I don't know how it happened," Niharika laughs. "I never tried for the role, never approached anyone. I never even thought I was eligible. One fine day I got a call from the director asking me to see him. I think Himesh and John must have seen my ads," says the face from the tea ad that launched a thousands 'sips'.
Niharika is at the moment preparing fiercely for her part. "I'm attending Barry John's classes every evening to prepare myself before the shooting starts in April. But this period between being signed and facing the camera is excruciating. I don't know how other debutantes cope with the waiting period. I'm going nuts."
The role rquires Niharika to play the stand-offish no-nonsense heiress who deals with billions across the table and has forgotten to have fun. "I play an heiress who has doesn't enjoy wealthâ¦until this street-smart dude played by Himesh enters her life. It's actually like playing a female Vijay Mallya, though much less cool than him."
So what does the heiress do to have fun? "Listen to Himesh Reshammiya tracks, I guess," Niharika laughs. "It's a challenge to play a haughty heiress because I'm nothing like that in real life. I'm a very middleclass girl with values to match. And if Himesh and John think I can carry off the female tycoon's part (earlier attempted by Sridevi in Laadla, Priyanka Chopra in Aitraaz and Bipasha Basu in Corporate) then I guess I must be good!"
An out -of- towner with no connections in the entertainment labyrinth of Mumbai, Niharika arrived in Mumbai five years ago with her kid -sister Garima. "My father who's in the tourist department of Uttar Pradesh trusted me enough let me be in-charge not just of my own life at that early age, but also to take care of my sister's future. I wish more parents in our country would trust their daughters as much they generally do their sons," says the 25-year old actress with endearing spunk.
So is she a fan of Himesh's tracks? "Who isn't? I love his music. Sadly I can't sing in his voice in my film."
As an after-though she adds, "There're two Johns in my life right nowâ¦John Matthew Mathan and Barry John. Now, all I need is John Abraham . Maybe in my third film? Who knows! Right now I'm just excited about two films with Himesh." Source: BollywoodHungama.com Features | 22 Mar 2008 | 11:13 am
