Among the many special things that have happened to Saif this year, the animation project with Yash Raj Films definitely ranks as a whammer. Says Saif, "It was fun doing the voice for Roadside Romeo. To dub for an animation film is very challenging and very different from dubbing for a normal feature film. A lot of emotions have to be conveyed through the voice. And I think I've managed pretty well, given the fact that I've never dubbed for an animation character before."
Saif is very happy with the way the dubbing for the promo of Roadside Romeo has come out. "I worked very hard on getting it rightâ¦.you know, all those impersonations of Mr. Bachchan, Gabbar Singh, etc.â But the perfectionist that he is, Saif has decided to re-dub for his first animation film, as he feels he could do it much better, one more time. âI'd like to dub the rest of the film all over again as soon as I get some time," states Saif. Certain sections of the Rajput community in Rajasthan have raised an objection on Ashutosh Gowarikar's magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar. According to them, the argument is that, historically speaking, Jodhaa was not Akbar's wife. In fact, they she was not even a Jaipur princess, though she hailed from Jodhpur and was the wife of Jehangir. Moreover, Gowarikar is hurting the sentiments of Rajput to no end, by twisting history.
But all is not lost for Ashutosh, as he is supported by the royal families of Jaipur and Kishangarh. They have extended their support to him by digging out some of the old original historical records to prove that Akbar married a Jaipur princess.
Meanwhile, Maharani Padmini Devi, a member of the Jaipur Royal family, went on record to say that they had gone through the script before Ashutosh started filming and that the âmahuratâ shot was taken in Jaipur itself. She also added that if at all they had found anything objectionable, then, they wouldnât have given their nod for the same.
The latest reports say that the Karni Sena, a Rajput organization based in Jaipur, has threatened to prevent the film from being released in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, a battalion of youths from the Rajput community staged a protest demonstration and shouted slogans against Ashutosh. They further intensified their protests by burning promotional posters of the film. Source: Indiafm.com News | 2 Feb 2008 | 12:42 pm

The wait is over. Eight years after he last directed a film, Aditya Chopra is back helming a Yash Raj Films production. Even as his directorial debut DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE continues its record breaking run in its 13th year, Aditya is ready to direct his third film.
After directing his second film, MOHABBATEIN, back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India's first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such blockbusters as DHOOM, DHOOM 2, HUM TUM, BUNTY AUR BABLI, SALAAM NAMASTE, FANAA and CHAK DE INDIA. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing his father Yash Chopra's directorial venture VEER-ZAARA in 2004, as well as the stories of other films.
Aditya's third directorial venture will be titled RAB NE BANA DI JODI and will star the formidable Shah Rukh Khan... indeed the jodi of Adi and SRK will once again be a treat for film audiences the world over.
Aditya will introduce a new girl opposite King Khan in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. The hunt for a new girl is currently in progress.
The film, to be produced by Yash Chopra, will be written and directed by Aditya Chopra. Shooting for the film will commence in May and RAB NE BANA DI JODI will release by the end of 2008. Source: Indiafm.com News | 1 Feb 2008 | 3:05 pm
