The wait is over. Eight years after he last directed a film, Aditya Chopra is back helming a Yash Raj Films production. Even as his directorial debut DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE continues its record breaking run in its 13th year, Aditya is ready to direct his third film.
After directing his second film, MOHABBATEIN, back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India's first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such blockbusters as DHOOM, DHOOM 2, HUM TUM, BUNTY AUR BABLI, SALAAM NAMASTE, FANAA and CHAK DE INDIA. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing his father Yash Chopra's directorial venture VEER-ZAARA in 2004, as well as the stories of other films.
Aditya's third directorial venture will be titled RAB NE BANA DI JODI and will star the formidable Shah Rukh Khan... indeed the jodi of Adi and SRK will once again be a treat for film audiences the world over.
Aditya will introduce a new girl opposite King Khan in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. The hunt for a new girl is currently in progress.

The indelible bonding between Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor just got stronger.
Not only will Karan receive a special lifetime achievement award at Ekta's much-vaunted Balaji Awards tonight, he'll also be doing a jig on stage with the hostess.
Says a source from Balaji, "It's meant to be the surprise of the evening. But Karan and Ekta are actually going to dance together. Though Ekta had earlier refused to do so coz even if it is her own awards function, she didn't want to end up looking ridiculous. But Karan convinced her to get jiggy on this occasion."
The song to which the super-duo would be seen dancing is 'Rock n Roll Soniye' from Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. After this Ekta and Karan would be doing an impromptu Q & A session on stage. One of the country's most popular actors and star of innumerable hit films down south, Kamal Hassan, is in the news for doing his bit towards charity for downtrodden children.
The veteran actor has been named ambassador of 'Hridaya Ragam II', which is a project launched by the World Malayalee Council (WMC) to facilitate free cardio surgeries for around 100 odd poor and downtrodden children this year.
The actor who is more popular for his work in Tamil films said that he was just doing his duty and didn't really differentiate between the Tamil and Malayalee community when it came to extending his support for such a noble cause.
To raise funds, the WMC in association with the Madras Medical Mission and 'Malayala Manorama' group of publication would also be holding a musical concert on Feb 24th where leading singers and composers of the Malayalam film industry would take part. Irrfan Khan's career is going great guns. While Sunday didn't quite set the box office on fire, his equity has been rising constantly. And now Irrfan is in multiple-movie deals with two leading production houses.
"That's right," informs Irrfan. "While I'm committed to do two films with UTV, I've signed a deal for several films with Sanjay Gupta. In addition to this, I'm also doing a film with Milan Luthria, the director whom I've admired for a long time."
It does look like a full plate for Irrfan in 2008. "It is! And I'm happy to be working in all kinds of films from a comedy like Rakesh Roshan's Krazzy 4 to a drama like Sunny Deol's Right Ya Wrong. I like the idea of doing films with big banners because you're ensured high visibility. I'm enjoying this new phase where I'm working with people like Sunny and Mr. Rakesh Roshan for the first time."

Preity was in fact in a series of meetings on the eve of her birthday. "But on my birthday I've just decided to chill out. I'm at home watching a DVD, relaxing sleeping. Last year was a sad birthday for me. My dog had died. This year I've lots to look forward to. And I'm happy. The only thing that irritates me is the constant reference to my age from media persons."
