Over the next few days, he "had had a couple of conversations with" Cruise, asking for emotional support, said the source. But Cruise abruptly cut him off when he learned "he was an impostor," the source said. "Heath's reps found out there was this hoaxer and they called various celebs." Sources close to Cruise confirmed the impostor contacted him.
I bet the conversation was pretty weird considering that in Cruise's faith, "The subject of death is never a very serious one to a Scientologist beyond the fact that he feels kind of sorry for himself sometimes. ... [The deceased person] was thoughtless enough to dispose of his body and go out of communication. A person sometimes feels pretty unhappy about it and thinks it's a thoughtless thing for a friend to do."
Death returns Ledger from a star back to a son, a partner, a father—those relationships that actually matter. As fans, we are incidental. Still, the loss is compounded here because we’d gotten used to pretending he was like us. We thought he was safe. We thought he was ours. How did he slip back to Soho, where his brownstone and his baby meant so very little to death?
There are no cowboys on Dean Street. The magic of the movies is dampened here. Having admired Ledger from afar, having brushed shoulders and shopping carts with him, we are left wondering what it was we thought we saw flickering behind those brownstone walls.

Asked what the magazine would be without Sischy and her extensive contacts driving the content, Brant told WWD: "To say that Interview is a product of Ingrid's friends . . . that's like saying, 'What's Vogue going to be like without [former editor] Grace Mirabella?' Anna Wintour does a really great job." Glenn O'Brien, Interview's new editor, whom Peter has cast as the new Wintour, promised in the Times to make Interview "more international and artistic - and definitely funnier." And Brant twisted the knife, saying, "I just thought they could really use some direction, going forward, of a younger generation of people." Friends of Ingrid were shocked at Brant's ungallant slap at a gifted editor who devoted so much work and so many years to making his magazine profitable.
"An editor's dream is to have a real life soap opera unraveling in front of you, and Britney provides that every week," said Sarah Ivens, OK!'s U.S. editor. The magazine has a 10-person team in Los Angeles devoted to Spears coverage. "We're on constant Britney alert."
But the article somewhat interestingly mentions that it's not all a cash-for-tit-flash/meltdown dream for the Britney Spears Transnational Industrial Complex (BSTIC). What about all those poor LA County employees that have to protect and serve.
For instance, the increased scrutiny puts a burden on Los Angeles civil service units, which have to keep Spears safe and public spaces uncluttered.
The L.A. Police Department wouldn't estimate the extra costs Spears generates. Her ambulance incident last week was handled by officers already on duty. The fire department said it was considering charging Spears for the ambulance ride, but did not disclose how much.
Spears' numerous court appearances - for custody hearings, divorce proceedings and a civil case - have more measurable effects. Richard Barrantes, chief of court services division of the LA County Sheriff's Department, said when Spears and Federline were in court on Oct. 26, his office billed the court $2286.10 to cover the cost of extra security at the courthouse.
The correct answer, by the way, is subtext! HA! [On the Red Line via Boing Boing]
Here's the answer Ms. Stacey Grenrock Woods gives, in part:
I've enlisted the help of sex-book authors Steve and Vera Bodansky, who suggest one use the moment to declare: "I loved it when I slowly entered your pussy and you said, 'Oh, God, that feels so good!' It sent a fantastic electrical feeling from my penis to my head and back."Woah! Really? "It sent a fantastical electrical feeling from my penis to my head and back!!!!" That can't be the right thing to say. Also, can you still utter the phrase even if the woman in question said, "Oh, God, I'm so wasted" or "Oh, God, It's cold in here. You mind turning on the heat? It's down the hallway on the right hand side, right before the bathroom!"

He does so much good but it is so offset by all his vainglorious douchery. True, at the end of the karmic day, he's a neutral. But it's like when Brad Pitt planted like 1000s of trees to offset his carbon footprint. If only Bono didn't have this messianic pomposity, he would be an unqualified good thing. As is, he's just barely scraping by.
He reminds me of Adam Monroe, that character from Heroes, who believes he's God. Of all the things I want to see in 3D, U2 is so low on my list, right below an adaptation of Edwin Abbott's novel Flatland and right above a home video of a projectile vomiting. Anyway, just putting it out there. Bono is a no go or at least only so so.
