around 9pm, saw cameron diaz; looks as pretty in person as she does on-screen, tall too. 30 minutes later lindsey lohan walked in, seemed to enjoy the paparazzi and everyone recognize her. 20 minutes, as my boyfriend and i were leaving, i tapped guy on the shoulder that was blocking the exit, and also peeking out the window to see how many paps there were, and said 'excuse me, sorry', only to realize when he turned around that he wasn't the bouncer but diddy himself. he was dressed casually, and he didn't seem to appreciate the fact that i basically asked him to move out of the way. finally on our way out we got smothered by flashbulbs, not as us, but towards patricia fields entering the restaurant.
Of course, these aren't the only underage pics floating around. Self-made underage porn has been popular for years. I got and sent nude photos in high school. My girlfriend's ex still owns pictures of her at 16. You don't think of it as child porn when you're sending it to a classmate. The difference between legal and illegal is flashing a tit in your MySpace pic. The law will stop you about as much as it's stopped teen sex.
In fact, there could be more underage nude pics passed between underage viewers than what we traditionally think of as child porn. No one knows just how much child porn actually exists, because it's technically illegal to research it, according to an article in Salon (the site retracted the article after a subject threatened to sue, but the author defended her point). Only law enforcement is allowed to possess the material, so only they can estimate its impact — or even define it. There can be no public discourse over the issue, since all opinions must be distanced from the actual material in question. But soon we'll have to decide: Should a boy really go to jail if his girlfriend sends him a naked photo?
The Fox shockjock's ultimate boss, Roger Ailes, can breathe a little easier: News Corporation paid over $10m to shut up the star of its books division, who had evidence of a political cover-up. That won't help the campaign of Rudy Giuliani, who was savaged in his home-town newspaper, the New York Times. Hillary Clinton, the strongest presidential candidate, showed her feminine side, gingerly, by posing for Harper's Bazaar, but only in a spread with some of her male rivals.
