Aamir sends Kiran to Rakeysh Mehra's rescue

Aamir Khan is known to develop quite a close rapport with the directors whom he works with. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who directed the Aamir starrer Rang De Basanti got a first hand experience of the actor’s generous and courteous side recently. The story goes that the First AD (Assistant Director) of Mehra’s forthcoming film Dilli 6 had to fly to the U.S. during the shooting stint currently underway in Jaipur. Needless to say Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was in a fix without his first AD and sought close friend Aamir’s help. The actor was immediately ready to fly down and assist Mehra in his time of crisis but was stuck with the shooting of his Ghajini remake. However, he did the next best thing and sent wifey Kiran Rao to help and assist the Dilli 6 team. Needless to say, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra and the whole team of Dilli 6 are quite touched by this act on the part of the superstar. For the record, Dilli 6 stars Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.

Sanjay Dutt married Manyata?

Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray celebrated his 82nd birthday yesterday (Jan 23). While the political leader received countless wishes and bouquets from family and friends, one particular special message continued to make news through most of the day for an altogether different reason. Bollywood's very own 'Munnabhai', Sanjay Dutt, decided to send out his personal wishes to the senior most Thackeray through an advert in the Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna'. However, what caught everyone by surprise was the end of the message which signed off (in Marathi of course), 'From your well wishers Sanjay and Manyata Dutt'. This came as quite a surprise to all as Sanju Baba has not been very comfortable speaking about his lady love in public but this message where Manyata has been referred to as Manyata Dutt surely had the news makers in a tizzy. So, are wedding bells around the corner or should we assume 'Samjho Ho hi Gaya'?

Chandrachur Singh is back

Over a decade ago, in the year 1996, a tall droopy-eyed actor made quite an impressive debut with Gulzar's Maachis. He followed it up with some decent flicks like Tere Mere Sapne and Daag-The Fire. What's more he even got to romance top actresses like Preity Zinta in Kya Kehna and Aishwarya Rai in Josh. Post that however, he did some forgettable flicks like Aamdani Athanni Kharcha Rupaiya, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata and the much delayed Sarhad Paar. We are talking about Chandrachur Singh, who after that phase seemed to have disappeared into kind of a self-imposed exile. Now comes news that the actor is making a comeback into the big bad world of films with a film titled Maruti Mera Dost to be produced by his brother Abhimanyu Singh (Contiloe Films). The film in question is apparently a children's film and would also star child artiste Swini Khara (of Cheeni Kum fame). The film which is expected to go on the floors in the second week of February will be directed by debutant Raju Manikya. While the actor was missing from action, there were a lot of rumors doing rounds of him having quit Bollywood since he couldn't cope up with the stress levels etc. However, the actor denies any such talk and says that now is the right time to get back to action considering the scope for different films with the multiplex-culture. Well, here's hoping Chandrachur 'Rocky' Singh does have a successful comeback to Bollywood.

Tanishq unveils jewelry of Jodhaa Akbar

Download Jodhaa Akbar wallpapers Tanishq, a leading jewelry brand, unveiled the exotic jewelry worn by Aishwarya in Jodhaa Akbar. The imperial dressing styles during the Mughal era has been recreated by Tanishq. Around four hundred kilograms of gold, emerald, pearls, ruby, tourmaline, jade stones have been churned out by two hundred craftsmen. Aishwarya who plays 'Jodhabai' in the film is seen dressed in precious jewelry pieces which encompasses the 'sarpech' (feather pin), 'archer's ring', 'arsi' (mirror ring), 'bhor' (head jewel like in Indian tikka) and 'hansali' (choker). Alpana Parida, the head of marketing and merchandising at Tanishq, informed that the wedding set weighed around three and half kilograms and took a real toll on Ash when she had to wear it. Moreover, there was huge investment done by Tanishq as the jewelry in total weighed three-hundred kilograms and 13 and 8 ensembles were made for Ash and Hrithik respectively. An immense research had been conducted in order to get the authentic designs of Jodhaa Akbar's jewelry. It was a real challenge for them to zero down on a specific kind of jewelry as it had to match with the style of 16th century Mughal Empire. Research in museums and archives, going through the private collections of various royalties and at the Chitrakala Parishad were conducted in order to get the genuine feel of the period, explained Parida. The designs mostly used in Jodhaa Akbar are 'kundan' and 'meenakari'- inlay work common to Rajasthan. Interestingly, the three generations of craftsmen have worked on making the magnificent jewelry of Jodhaa Akbar. Tanishq, however, would not be selling any of the jewelry. This is Tanishq's second venture into films, earlier they had made jewelry for the SRK starrer Paheli.

Ayesha Takia dubs for a baby cheetah

Download Sunday wallpapers Strange things keep happening to the unconventional Ayesha Takia. Last year, she was meant to play only one role in Anurag Kashyap's No Smoking. She ended up playing two roles. Ironically, this year, she plays a dubbing artiste in Rohit Shetty's Sunday and she will also be dubbing for a baby cheetah in Nikhil Advani's animation film. "It's all so strange," Ayesha laughs, "when I decided to be part of Sunday, I just wanted to have fun after the serious Dor and even more serious No Smoking. And I did have loads of fun. But initially, we hadn't chosen a profession for my character. When Rohit suggested a dubbing artiste, I jumped at it. I don't think any heroine in our films has played a dubbing artiste." Being a natural mimic, Ayesha worked hard on getting her voices right for the role. "I watched a lot of cartoons. But I found the voices very shrill and unnatural. I wanted to bring in a more natural tone to my voice. A professional dubbing artiste Vikas and the veteran sound recordist Rakesh Ranjan helped me with getting it right for my dubbing artistes' role." Ayesha had great fun doing a number of voices in Sunday. But even more fun is her role as the baby cheetah in Nikhil Advani's animation film. "I get to speak for a cub named Yuvraj. Nikhil wanted me to dub in my natural voice. That was more fun than assuming an unnatural pitch. What added to the fun of this whole experience is that all of us who speak in Nikhil's animation film-Akshaye Khanna, Boman Irani, Govinda and me-sat together worked on our dialogues at rehearsals and then Nikhil designed the film on our voices."
