Saif is unhappy with his rock concert being held at the Andheri Sports Complex. 'Even Beyonce can't fill up the Andheri Sports Complex in India. You can't have 3000-4000 people in such a huge place. It looks like a small gathering. I'd have preferred a more intimate environment. Better that we should've played at Poison or some such night club. But it was a good fun. The people who came loved the music so much, it was worth it."
For Saif one of the perks of playing live with a rock band in Mumbai on Sunday evening was having his children in the audience watching him play. "I'm not a rock star. I'm an actor playing the guitar. My son and my daughter had a good time. And that was enough for me. It was nice to showcase my abilities on the strings. Parikarama are a great band. And I had fun."
But did Saif's kids enjoy a retro-rock performance by their dad? "Sarah said she hates Rock, but loves me. That's why she enjoyed it." But Saif didn't miss Kareena at the Bangalore and Mumbai gigs. "She's constantly with me. No need for her to be present with me physically."
Out of the four scheduled gigs in the four metros Saif has already completed two.
"Both Bangalore and Mumbai were really good. However, we're averaging like 4000-5000 people per gig. And that's the audience for a closed auditorium or maybe a club, not a stadium. The concerts should've been done indoors like those small rock bands that play in the night club."
Saif found the audience in Bangalore more receptive. "They were more passionate about rock music. They made a lot of appreciative noises. Like I said, the same number of people in a club would've been really terrific. I mean, come onâ¦we can't be put on a platform meant for Led Zepplin! Anyway, Bangalore was fun. I believe the same is true of Kolkata where we perform next. Bombay is more into films. Delhi too has some great rockers. "
After the gigs in Kolkata on Feb 25 and Delhi on 27 Feb, Saif is done with rocking for now. "I'd love to keep playing. Maybe once in a while at some club, and become a good guitarist. But looking at the gigs, they're part of my contract with Seagram's. I've to work eight days a year with them. It's a professional obligation that happens to be a lot of fun. But for now, I've had enough. It's not as tiring as dancing on stage for the Bollywood shows. It's just 8 songs in 30 minutes. But after a while the hand starts aching." Of late, Sanjay Dutt has discovered several musical bones in his personality. After crooning for Asha Bhosle in her album for pal Sanjay Gupta in Zinda, Dutt has lent his physical presence to Hansal Mehta's thriller Woodstock Villa.
In this the debut vehicle for Sikandar Kher and Neha Oberoi, Sanjay Dutt will appear to enact a song performed by the band Aryan.
Sanjay Gupta who has directed the musical piece says the song has turned into one of the film's highlight. "When Sanju performs a song it's not just a star lending his name. He feels the lyrics, their pain and passion and projects them on screen. That's what makes the sound so special."
Dutt apparently was moved to tears by the evocative lyrics. Source: Indiafm.com News | 22 Jan 2008 | 10:01 am

If all goes well, Upen Patel will finally get to dub his lines in his next two releases, 123 and Money Hai To Honey Hai, both comedies. And in Money Hai ⦠Upen has Govinda for his co-star.
The experience of working with Govinda has changed Upen's life. "Working with Govinda has just changed my whole perspective to life. During the shooting of Money Hai â¦in Mauritius, Govinda became the elder brother I never had. Who says this industry is filled with opportunists and cut- throat competitors? When I came from London, I had nothing but my dreams. I met people like Suneel Darshan and Abbas-Mustan who gave me my two breaks. And now there's Govinda from whom I have learnt about comic timing and also how to speak my Hindi lines properly."
In all his films so far, even in Namastey London where he played a London-based NRI, a professional dubbing artiste has dubbed Upen's lines. Now thanks to Govinda's minute ministrations Upen would be able to speak on screen in his own voice. If all goes well, Upen might even persuade Govinda to guide him personally during the dubbing of Money Hai To Honey Hai.
"Govindaji is doing another film Lucky 2 with me. So, I am getting to spend time with him, talk to him and imbibe his speech patterns, all over again. Govinda and Manoj Bajpai (both are with me in Money Hai To Honey Hai) are the best learning experience I've had in the industry." Didn't Govinda get the title changed from Run Bhola Run to Lucky 2? "I believe so. He plays 'Bhola'. So if he got the title changed to something less self-serving it only goes to show his generosity of spirit," quips Upen.
"Upen has a lot of potential. I wouldn't mind helping him out. It's great fun to work with all these youngsters like Tusshar Kapoor and Upen Patel. They're so energetic and focused," adds Govinda. Source: Indiafm.com News | 22 Jan 2008 | 9:54 am

Comedy is the flavor of the season and the next two weeks will witness the release of two comic fares, one after the other. While SUNDAY [it falls into the thriller-comedy variety] has already evoked tremendous curiosity thanks to its eye-catching promos, another film that might turn out to be a surprise success, if Lady Luck favors it, is RAMA RAMA KYA HAI DRAMAAA.
A story of three couples [Anupam Kher-Rati Agnihotri, Aashish Chowdhary-Amrita Arora and Rajpal Yadav-Neha Dhupia], the film has a few hilarious moments that make you flex your facial muscles. The film belongs to Rajpal and Neha, the 'warring' couple. The constant fights, arguments and bickering give the film an interesting twist. Also, Rajpal's over-active imagination -- he imagines other people's wives to be his -- is another interesting aspect of this entertainer.
Although there's not much scope for music in the film [Siddharth-Suhas], the songs are quite tuneful and if promoted aggressively, might compliment the hilarious moments⦠A special screening of RAMA RAMA KYA HAI DRAMAAA was held on Sunday night for a select few. The detailed review of the film will appear on its release, on 1st February. Source: Indiafm.com News | 22 Jan 2008 | 7:34 am

So what's the running time of the most-awaited film of the year -- JODHAA AKBAR? While UTV and Ashutosh Gowariker have been keeping quiet about its final length, this writer has learnt of some facts pertaining to its running time.
The rough cut of JODHAA AKBAR was of almost 4 hours' duration, which was brought down to 3.20 hours. However, the film may be trimmed further, thereby making the final length anywhere between 3 and 3.20 hours. Since the film is of epic proportions, it wouldn't be possible to bring down its length below 3 hours, which means that the historical will be of 3 + hours for sure.
