With no breaks in the opening set, Wawrinka's serve made the difference in the tiebreaker.
There were no breaks in the second set until Ljubicic dropped serve in the 10th game to allow the Swiss player to advance to his fifth career ATP final.
Wawrinka won 88 percent of first-serve points, while both players each served eight aces. Ljubicic won 78 percent on his first serve.
